My last day on the island, and work finished up late last night so I had today free. Unfortunately the heavy rain from Thursday continued into Friday so I couldn't spend as much of the day geocaching as I wanted to. A big thanks to all the hiders on the island and hopefully I'll be able to grab another group the next time I'm out here for work. TFTC

My daughter and I are visiting my sons and a daughter-in-law here in Guam. They went diving today and I am not that much of a water person so I hit the roads and did a little sightseeing and caching. Our family was island hopping across the Pacific - sharing some of my youth with them, enjoying the islands, and learning some WWII history along the way. TFTC!

Email sent! There are only a few virtuals here on Guam, and this is such a fascinating place! I wanted to come here anyway to see the War in the Pacicif National Historic Site, but reading the nearby signs so many other things happened right here. Thanks for pointing one of them out! TFTC!

Have emailed the answer. It is always interesting to visit this park. The first time I visited these monuments was before the area had been cleared to house the Vietnamese refugees. Had to climb through the jungle to get out to the shoreline and then walk up the beach to the site. Glad to see the renovations on the monuments that have been done. Much easier today, even if it is raining and the water is standing all around.

I've been here many times throughout the years I've lived on Guam. The area has served many purposes for many people as it still does today.

Spending a day in Guam, but sure would like to spend more time here. Posting a non-spoiler picture of this important Statesman.

On a Princess Cruise, took a day excursion around Guam. Not enough time to see this beautiful place. Did visit this Historic Site and was very impressed with the information on the plaque. A great History Lesson. Airmont Steve sent an email to the CO with the name of the Statesman being honored. TFTC
