jojo&dobby is no longer caching so this cache is not being monitored or maintained. I'm in the process of letting the reviewer know to archive them as jojo&dobby's premium membership has lapsed so can no longer access them. Apologies for any inconvenience and happy caching Smile.

Found while on a walk with a group of friends in a really nice and interesting forest. What a neat little hide, I am sure the "owl" was watching me. TFTC

Find #2964. I needed an adventure that would occupy the mind away from thoughts of going back to work tomorrow so chose this area, having no idea of the extent of the tracks or where they would lead me. Overall is was a very pleasant, although hot, approx 8kms (total ascent 350m) of bush tracks and caching. I say approx because at times, satellite reception was sketchy or non-existent and my tracker sent me off to spots I definitely wasn't at. I used the hints for every cache to be sure of finding them without wasting too much time, although some of them were plainly obvious. Best of all, when I got to near the Silverstream car park, the track along the base of the hill went straight back to Hayward Stream. I had envisaged having to back track the way I had come.

This might be one of my favourite caches on this trail as not only is the cache unique, I was lucky enough to actually see a Ruru on my route to this cache. It flew above the track in front of me then paused on an over hanging branch to take a look back. Then it flew off again. Very special! Spotted the cache as I approached and after a bit of a scramble, had the log book in hand. SL TFTC

Ha ha, very good! I did as the description ordered, and went up the hill a few metres. Must have gone too far because after I turned around to look where I had come from there it was right in my face! Thanks for the cache and the entertainment.

This cache is just brillant and I couldn't help but laugh out loud once I got myself into the right position to access the log. That really made my day. I spotted the cache from a moderate distance while I was waiting for the GPS to settle. I just looked in the indicated direction and could make out something worth investigating. Visitors should not come here without available FPs - you will need one. Smile The next time I consider deploying a cache without putting some work into it I will undoubtedly remember this and think better of it. Thanks for raising the bar!

I just noticed that this cache is not much more than 2 years old and yet I am the first finder in almost a year. For cache with so many favourite points I'm amazed more people don't make the effort to come up here.

Out for a wander on this beautiful day. Good to explore some of these new tracks in this area and I really enjoyed the walk and variety of bush encountered. All in all, a very pleasant wander in the company of Yeetrees. A very nicely constructed hide here.
TFTC.

Very cool find whilst walking the geodog. Note that track name is Pinetops, not Tree Tops. Love the enclosure and the resident!

Cache # 3,452 - Took advantage of the lack of rain this morning to go for a nice walk before the expected downpour was to happen after lunch. Have been up parts of this trail before, but not this particular track. A nice walk and an easy find. Left a trackable after saying hello to the local resident. A nice cache. TNSL. TFTC!

Saw what I was looking for and scrambled up to check it out..the inhabitant looked like a happy chappy who was pleased to see me. Cheers and TFTC

Another impressive jojo&dobby cache. My GPSr was still settling down when I checked out what looked to be the best means of ascent. This proved to be a good move as I soon found what I was seeking. The cache is in excellent condition.

I wasn't sure what to look for here. I wasn't expecting what I found. Nice work

I read the cache page and stopped when i thought "this is a likely place for a cache" sure enough I looked up the bank and saw what I thought was a potential cache! Nicely done. FP for Mr Owl

On a mission around the Keith George Memorial Park/Haywards area on a rainy Saturday.

Mr Owl was in today and looking a bit bedraggled.

Gets a "Favourite" point from us - nice change from the usual cache containers.

Next one on my walk in the park today. This is a really great and funny box, well done. TFTC. Sherlock Hood.

Top cache of the day, or the month for that matter. Just loved the hide, and creative effort. Really restores our faith in caching! Very cool and also good to give some specifics about the hide as reception can be patchy in these areas. TFTC

Very nice cache! LCBuilder and I loved this walk. Perfect for the geodogs, a stream, a good amount of steepness and mostly under the cover of trees Smile Thanks so much for bringing us here!

TFTC!

Well, what can I say! Not knowing the area at all I got fairly lost first walking up the wrong side of the river! Then once on the path next to the pipe, I missed some turnoffs as I saw the cache getting further and further!

Anyway, after a climb of some proportion for this large body of mine, I eventually found this beauty! What a relief. I had set out to do this specific cache as I needed it for one of my last 6 D/T blocks and it was a massive relief to find it!

Thank you!

And nicely done again for another Fav Smile.

TregearP and I had heard about this one at the recent event in Upper Hutt and were keen to grab it last week with Rik&Bid but ran out of time so back out to the Hutt today. A quick find and well worth the saunter up the hill - thankfully not as steep as the KGM loop we did last week.

All in good order, TFTC.

Sublimely cool cache although I felt a waste of a pine cone given winter is coming. Nice trail and appreciate all the effort that goes into your caches.

The second stop on my 'foray' into the area.... I was just wondering what I should be looking for (I'd got quite the wrong idea in my mind, by the way) when I spotted it! Love it! Anyone who doesn't give this a FP has no soul.....TFTC.

Found after a small search once the GPS settled down and I got an average reading. Lucky that the owl guarding the entrance to the cache was friendly so I was able to reach in and retrieve the log. Signed and replaced all as found. A great cache thanks for the effort.

I can't see the other logs so just a wee note so I can. My gps is jumping around so much...

07-Feb-16
Man what a mission! I had saved the original to my phone so had spent some time looking for that. After adding a note so I could see previous logs discovered a name change and change of info. I can say just as I was about to give up I came almost eye to eye with it. Yay. There is a lot of dead wood and branches so I have discovered. Quite noisy too with the cicadas. Now to sign the log and head down. Tft challenge!

#7499. Good to return to walk the entire length of this track in Haywards on a sunny day. Found after a short search. Love the great hide. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside.

Dropped off Paderborn Geocoin

Took nothing, signed log.

Great hide and cache composition, well worth a favourite point. Popped the owl back in a bit further than as I found it, it still gets a good view of what's going on, but won't get wet if it rains. TFTC

More enjoyable walking to get to this one. More thanks for laying the caches in this area, and further acknowledgement to the good person/people who have opened up this area.
This was a straightforward find, true to coordinates and description; log signed, cache safely re-hidden, just as found.
Gee whiz, lots of work went in to creating and then making this cache hide. Well done on that. I give it a fave point.

After not finding it a couple of days previously, returned today (while off work while the building we work in had no power due to a major fire!!). Had the two teenage boys with me, and we bumped into agcnz & Mrs agcnz just after we had found the cache.

Very nicely done.

TFTC!

27-Jan-16
Came for a walk with Mrs agcnz this afternoon to find some of the caches along here. Unfortunately I hadn't updated the GPSr with the latest coordinates and spent a few minutes searching in the wrong place. Then I checked on my cellphone and realised that I had to go further, and promptly ran into CaligulaNZ who was at the cache with his two sons. Good to meet and have a chat again! A very nicely done cache, that has to get a favourite point just for the construction and presentation! Signed log, TFTC

#1606 my dot day cache. An hour and a half from car to cache - in the dark taking the tourist route. I missed a turn and had a long walk. Then a bunch of bush bashing followed by the GPS Dance - in this area more like a GPS Marathon Dance.

When found with phone coords 27m out, however will return with GPS tonight.

Really creative cache - lots of effort building it. Thanks for my morning PT session. Cache earns a well deserved Favourite Point due to creativity.

I saw this come through yesterday as my email was bombarded with new local caches after getting back to civilisation from Totara Flats. With all the FTF gone, I decided to make them dot day caches. This morning when woke just after 5 I was pleasantly surprised to see this cache had not been found. My body was sore from the tramping so I decided to go for a hill walk to loosen up. I was looking where my GPS took me (even with the dancing, I went to the closest spot) when eventually a bird chirrped in my ear and I rechecked the description. I was on the wrong side of the track. Once I looked on the correct side of the track I had the cache in minutes and a blank log sheet. Happy days - an {FTF}

Another Jojo&dobby classic cache. If you've seen her handiwork around Silverstream you'll know what I mean. A lot of work has gone into this one as well, and definitely worth a Favourite point.
My GPS was a little dodgy under the tree cover but after reading the description update it was an easy find. Thanks for that. A little bit of a clamber to the cache but nothing too tricky, I'm sure a geo-trail will form before too long.
The occupant was home when I arrived and didn't seem to mind my intrusion, I was a little worried initially as she looked a little 'down'.
Signed log and left everything as found.
Thanks for a memorable cache Jojo&dobby! TNLN

Good grief, we walked right past this today but hadn't seen the new listing. Our latest pocket query was downloaded on the 23rd. Hahaha just as well we don't chase FTFs.

Hmmmmm, interesting - looks like the cache name has changed - which kinda makes sense , because the previous name didn't Sad. Had passed the location earlier in the afternoon, in the opposite direction to Team Tramper Ted (as we passed each other and stopped for a chat). Managed to score a couple of other FTFs in the park, before looping back around and doing a little bush-bashing to get back down to where this recently-published cache was indicating. Spent quite some time searching and attempting to use all the hints and description, but to no avail. Best wishes to the next searcher! Big Grin
