Found with Pacman and Muzza while we were up here with others to do the SNOMO and FLAKE series. Many thanks for all the caches.

14-Nov-24
Out and about, mainly around Beechworth, with Alansan and Pacman. Luckily we had a previous finder with us, so after a few minutes, he remembered the hide, and was able to put us on the right track. Many thanks to Randolph the Rat for the cache.

This was so well done!!!

Randolph had us completely baffled with this cache! We thought wed wander over to GZ and just take a quick peek, but it turned into a lengthy search. Just when we were about to call it quits, the little blighter was finally spotted. Nice one Randolph! SmileAfter signing the log, the helmets came off, the climbing gear was packed away, and we were off to our next adventure.Cheers, Randolph, you fun-loving wacky rat!

08-Jul-24
Found after a very long search and I think the neighbours took pity on me and pointed in the right direction. I was using the photos and they are very misleading! Not a conventional hiding spot at all! I don't think I would've found without assistance! TFTC.

28-Jun-24
Hilarious- not what I expected but just as well I had the taller weirdobiker Previous attempts have seen me doing circus tricks on trusty treadles to no avail. Seriouslyjust as well the kind neighbour suggested to go further alongto avoid her nice Little Rock garden! TFTC and the FUN.

28-Jun-24
Firstly I was looking at the wrong tree and then the lovely neighbour came out and pointed us in the right direction. I think I wouldve been looking for a little while to find this one without this helpful intervention.

Well it was Canberra Geobash Mega time and after spending 6 fun filled but very tiring days up there finding plenty of caches and catching up with great friends that you dont see very often it was time to head on home.Yesterday was spent finding the PUB series below Wagga Wagga and this morning was spent going on a couple of hikes to find a few mysteries and now onto Beechworth for the night.I had worked this great series out a couple of years ago and started finding them back in July last year but the weather got the better of me.Another brilliant afternoon to hopefully find the rest of them and gather all of the clues as well for the final.A nice avenue of trees along here and after staring at trees for way too long I think the neighbour nearby must have felt sorry for me as I was in the right spot but just cache blindas he pointed it out to me.I thought that I could hear Randolph sniggering at me from up in the tree.I have collected all of the clues so its now time to head back to the Hibernian Hotel to were Im staying grab a beer and work out where the final is that I will do tomorrow morning before heading off to Rutherglen. Thanks Randolph the Rat and Robmc TFTC.

The photos actually threw us way off. Trust the GPS and keep your caching eyes on

12-Mar-24
TFTC tricky one

28-Feb-24
I identified the right tree from the photos in the description, but it was the resident of the house next to it who told me where to look. Clever hide. TFTC from the UK while on holiday here to do the Ned Kelly thing.

19-Jan-24
Can't believe how stumped this had us! Been a long time since got by something so tricky. Climbing a tree when Pacman spotted. FP from me.

29-Dec-23
Didn't realise it required tree climbing sadly

Came here on our first day but couldn't find this cache. Returned this afternoon and within minutes had found it. How we missed it the first time we don't know, we could swear it hadn't been there before! An unusual but effective hide for sure! TFTC Randolph The Rat

08-Sep-23
We saw all around Beechworth while staying with family.
Having looked here yesterday with no prize, we returned today with determination, and wondered how we missed it as we found it in 5 minutes. A devious hide, but once seen it is very obvious. Thanks Randolph the Rat.

For some reason I had a completely different idea in mind when I started looking for this cache - so much so that I ignored alpha female's multiple suggestions about 'this'....

Stupid me... When she ignored my refusals and checked it out, sure enough the cache presented itself. Extra points to her for this find.

Must confess didn't know what I was looking for!

Took me a while to home in to GZ but spotted something unique which I investigated and the cache was soon to hand. A clever idea and TFTC Randolph the Rat. Fav awarded

Very cool find. Thankyou.

15-Apr-23
Wandering here and there after the Rutherglen Mega and thought I'd have a go at some of the Randolph series.
Was a bit apprehensive about this one as I'm in a moon boot at the moment. While still doable, it adds a bit of difficulty to the business of climbing anything especially ladders.

Rolled up here and was ecstatic that I could manage this one. Very clever!
Think it deserves a favourite point!

14-Apr-23
Ha this was pretty cool I haven't seen one hidden like that before!
Thanks for the cache

13-Apr-23
Replaced logsheet and container. Ready to be found.

12-Apr-23
Well, we finally managed to find this one… a muggle neighbor was watching us and asked if we were looking for the geocache… well we couldn’t lie could we?

Unfortunately the log is soaking wet, we were able to pat a section dry, write on it with the indelible pen and replace it without too much trauma.

In the area for the Rutherglen Mega Event, which sadly has come to an end! There is still so much for us to do, and we are so happy we have a few extra days to do it!

We headed off to this one on such a beautiful day!

We had a quick search before coming up with the goods!

Log was wet but signable. Cache is fine, I think it was a user error that made the log wet.

Log book is very wet and needs to be replaced.
I thought we had been here before but there was no smiley face. Found it pretty quickly because I really think we had been here before. Anyway, fave point for putting a cache in a tree like that!
TFTC and SL at 14:10pm.

14-Nov-22
Let's go to Beechworth for some caching we said... Little did we know what a chilly day it was going to be. 8 degrees the car said but it wasn't taking into account the wind coming straight off Kosciusko, or so it felt. And as much as this is a beautiful tree lined path, it was freezing in the shade. A beaut hide but the need for an urgently quick find must have been strong as we spotted the cache as soon as we arrived. [^] Thanks to Randolph for another in the series.

06-Nov-22
Out and about today tidying up a few loose ends. Great cache. Nice after all the rain . Now onto the next one for the day. TFTC

06-Nov-22
In Beechworth today celebrating the better halves 30th. Decided to go for a little walk after, bit of patchy rain today but not to bad.

Heap of kids playing near here so had to go into steallth mode. Quickly spotted something unusual and sure enough it contained the cache. Nice camo here.

TFTC !

Well spotted by the ace of amazing shace. Quick find on a cold morning. Thanks Smile

30-Sep-22
Randolph The Rat has been suffering vertigo (or someone moved it) as it is now out on a branch and so low that a tall person could probably reach. I only discovered this when about halfway up and the lovely lady who lives in the house nearby came out and yelled "it's not that high". Followed by "and I don't want you to kill yourself falling out of the tree.". Thanks dear lady, as I probably would have gone all the way to the top.
I tried to dry out the soggy log, signed and replaced. Thanks Randolph.

27-Sep-22
Was significantly lower than anticipated: reachable from the ground - I think it was moved. Really good spot, but a bit wet.

29-Jun-22
TFTC. It was a drowned rat today! Paper a little soggy!

07-May-22
Day 5 of our trip to Victoria targeting around the Glenrowan and up to Beechworth areas with Brisal5, Bushfire and 6hinemoa2.

Our targets were once again, a few of the Randolph the Rat series where Bushfire and 6hinemoa2 were entertained by our antics searching for these elusive hides, and a number of others whilst nearby.
Rather than duplicating dialogue, much more detail is included in the logs of Brisal5.

All finds were visited and stamped by both the Adder and the Starfish. This is how we play.

All caches were in good condition unless noted otherwise.

Another of the series targeted by both the Adder and Brisal5 whilst in Victoria.

Thank you for the cache Randolph the Rat, found 7/05/2022, 3:58:58 PM

THE LATE TO THE WANGARATTA MEGA TOUR. [:o)]
We were booked for November 21. [^] Didn't Happen. Twisted
Booking transferred to February 22. Razz covid Twisted
Booking transferred to May 2022. Cool Yah - made it albeit a tad late. Cool

DAY 5: The Fab Four of Bushfire, Blackadders, brisal5 and 6himemoa2 set off for a days of Geocaching adventures. Razz Today we spent the morning clearing a few more around Benalla, then called in at Glenrowan before spending the afternoon targeting the Randolph the Rats caches [^] Bushfire and 6hinemoa2 had done them so acted as chauffeur and laughing at us every time we ran into trouble doing a pub crawl and then attending church for penance. SurprisedWink You would have thought that a whole afternoon would suffice but we barely scratched the surface on this series. Razz Here is what we managed in a whole day until dusk!Surprised

We left the chauffeurs in the car and went for a walk along the path. [^] Settle on one tree and started looking. [^] looking. [^] Still looking. Twisted Good grief Finally Blackadders spotted and said there it is. Smile Where. [?] There he said pointing. Razz Still couldn't see it. Red Face Not until he put his hand on it and brought it down for signing. Surprised What great camo, can't believe I didn't spot it but I was looking way too high! [^] That is my excuse and I am sticking to it. [B)] FP for the camo.

***Thanks Robmc for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

On a trip to Beechworth TrudyJane and I believe we found the tree BUT we are not in the tree scaling age bracket anymore, so enjoyed the shade and walked on

14-Jan-22
One of many caches found during the week of the 2021 Wangaratta Mega. Thanks to all Cache Owners for their contribution to our recreational activity!

Parked nearby and walked along the path to GZ. Struggled to locate the cache for some time until the nearby homeowner helped direct my search. One of the 'Randolph the Rat' series complete! TFTC

10-Jan-22
We visited the area to have a swim in the lake after Plan A at Woolshed Falls was not suitable. Whilst Babcia went swimming with my 2 kids, I took Roxy for a wander around. It was very hot and sweaty today. As I approached GZ, the residents were there standing next to their car and watched me approach. As I tried to look just like a dog walker, they asked me if I was here for "that thing in the tree". Yes I was here for that thing and we all had a bit of a laugh together as I retrieved the cache. We had a good chat about the upcoming Mega Event and how Wang was going to be filled with people "like me". I almost convinced them to join the game themselves but they are happy to just watch everyone who comes by and stops here much to their amusement.

Roxy enjoyed the walk. It's a lovely tree lined shady walking path.

Thank you for the cache here Randolph the Rat (Robmc)

27-Dec-21
Back enjoying Beechworth for a week so we decided a bike ride and a cache or two were in order! We are staying in caravan park out of town so a nice ride in to here. Yah for a 10 year old with good eyes! Nice hide here! I’d love a pathtag at the mega if you have any left. Thanks so much for the cache and lovely morning ride!

26-Dec-21
TFTC! I finally found it after some help from a fellow cacher.

10-Dec-21
In the company of an unstoppable bushfire, armed with our data and the white beast, a very busy time was had tracking that unique knitted, lovable fellow Randolph. That was the aim of our trip and what interesting adventures Randolph had in North East of Victoria. Of course, a few other Trads and LABS were found along the way.
We found all caches in this series but one. We didn’t ‘Strike it Rich’ despite several attempts searching the local mines. (Fools’ gold can be tricky!) We are planning to return soon to rectify this. You know the story here as well as ‘MayDay Hill’s fall from grace.
Randolph’s travels were stuff straight out of an adventure book. The puzzles were varied and interesting. I learned quite a bit along the way too. Some of his travels, the multis in particular, had many planned stops that ate into our time. Daylight saving was a blessing here.

Thanks,Randolph, for all that good advice on tree climbing. I'm not keen on that activity but do have one piece of equipment that has proved useful.
We took some time to spot that elusive hide and I was thinking that maybe waiting for the tree to fall was apt here. At least the time spent helped us to enjoy the beautiful trees and view of the Avenue
Thanks for the cache Randolph the Rat

07-Dec-21
My good friend 6Hinemoa2 and the ageing Bushfire decided to head up to this old gold mining area for a few days to mainly concentrate on the Randolph the Rat series but grabbing LAB’s and anything else that happened to be nearby. We had both only found one of these guys before and that was #14 Randolph the Rat at Winton Raceway, as it was near the Hume Hwy and also a fair distance from the other 14 caches.
Now if you’re thinking about doing the same thing you must allow a lot of time as so many have multiple WPT’s that can chew up your available time.
Some are easy hides and some are very difficult that will also take up time, but a great time was had as we slowly ticked these guys off our list of caches to find.
We were successful with all bar one, but with new knowledge it will be added to the list on our next trip.
It was about here that I started to have my doubts about Randolph and his brilliant images (well done) that throw you off the real hide. I thought this was going to be an easy find but it took far longer than expected to be signing the log.
A F.P. for the images, writeup and the hide all very good.

26-Oct-21
So this is where it all started. Well worth a read of some of the logs especially the dnfs.
I had all the gear I needed for a successful adventure.
Great write up and photos
Thanks ratty.

First of all, apologies for the very late logging of this cache - its seems that I'm better at finding them then actually logging them and have heaps of draft and saved logs on my phone.

This cache was so frustrating. We looked, we looked and looked. We compared cache background photos with trees, walked up and down, jumped and climbed up various trees. We nearly gave up multiple times.

Eventually we found the cache. So obvious... now we've found it of course!

Thanks for bringing us here

19-Sep-21
Tftc! Took us a minute but got there in the end

05-Jul-21
High climb

24-May-21
Clever clever. Took a while. Eagle-eyed Genrow1966 spotted the cache and grabbed it then threw it as Mr Very Annoyed Spider poked his head out. Loved this hide - thank goodness it’s autumn . Thanks for the cache Randolph. Favourite from me

24-May-21
Tree gifted us a titchy couple of spiders on a titchy bit of the cache. Nearly through it so far away I would’ve had a hard time finding it again. So clever as I was looking for a cache attached to the tree in a very particular way.

30-Apr-21
Very glad to sign the log for me today. Thank you Randolph, this cat doesn't mind associating with this rat.

12-Mar-21
Found with Crafty Dusty (who never logs her caches) and the geopooch Pippa on our road trip from Sydney to Melbourne. Lovely spot for a stroll, thanks for bringing us here!

01-Feb-21
Fun, adventure, travel, history, geology, mental stimulation, social gatherings, support and friendship are just some of the elements of geocaching.

Out and about enjoying the opportunity to grab a few caches, yours being one of those I targeted on my journey today. Thanks ??

Thanks Robmc (F=28961 H=358) for placing this cache and adding to our game.

30-Jan-21
Looking looking looking there it is found it

21-Jan-21
Today we able to turn the blue face to to a yellow smiley at this cache! Fresh eyes and two pairs of eyes, I’d brought The-Evil-Muggle along for his extra height and reach. In the end I could reach it, but as he’d found it, he retrieved it. The cache wasn’t quite what or where I was expecting it to be, but I was so pleased to find it and get the colour change on my map. At least it was a nice, shady and relatively Muggle free location for the hot day. That’s four Randolph caches I’ve found now!

20-Nov-20
Day seven of Beechworth camping road trip with Papi4506, Geoturtle37 & RoamingHowie, working our way through various must-dos.
We were looking forward to this one. I say “we”, but I’m always a little apprehensive about tree climbs - although I am getting better with each climb.
A lovely stroll along the shady path to reach gz. It wasn’t long before the cache was spotted, and in no time we had the log signed and clue noted.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, Robmc

20-Nov-20
Day #5 for me of the cache adventure with OzHockeyChick, GeoTurtle37 and Papi4506. Today’s aim is to finish of the randolphs and some other part finished caches and possibly end in Wangaratta to complete a night cache.

A cool walk along this path in the shade. Last night while returning to camp from the hotel I passed a koala in the middle of the path not far from this spot. Found the clever hidden cache and signed the log. Clue is very hard to read.

Thanks Robmc for the cache.

17-Nov-20
Many cache owners are already aware: As per Groundspeak guidelines, I am claiming find because physically found under TeamOzcat. I undertake this not for disinterested statistical purposes, but because of inability to revisit this cache, and/or because it's so damn confusing when viewing the local district geocache maps. I sincerely thank all CO's for time and effort in placement of their caches. Cheers Reg.

17-Nov-20
Returned here for the 2nd time and so DETERMINED WE were. Gotcha !!! Was the result of that persistance. My partner said I was hot today, but you may speculate which partner that was. A BIG fav awarded for the ingenuity. Thanks R.

Nice easy find here today after our previous DNF. TFTC. Needs a new log book

01-Mar-20
We had a bit of trouble getting the GPS to settle so we looked at the trees and found one with obvious damage from people climbing it. We climbed up, had a poke around but no luck. This was a busy little track today. Will be back.

09-Feb-20
Lovely walk and grab, tftc.

23-Dec-19
Ooph finally logging this as a found, climbed so many of these trees before finding it because the GPS was all over the show. Luckily Cal is tall and could reach!

14-Dec-19
This was tricky but love it..: so did the ants hahah TFTC appreciate being bouton to beautiful places like this

07-Dec-19
Today was a good day for a ride so after loading the bike up and heading to the beginning of the rail trail in beech worth we found a great location to start however it turned out to be a bad start with a long day on the bike only managed 31 stops along the way with 11 of them being DNFs so it was a long hard morning as the body took over as the heat increased.

Another DNF for us and it was not until the location was attempted that it was realised that the T2 was a more difficult a tree that expected for this aging body a booster is needed so its a DNF or a FTC in this case however an effort was made.

Thanks Randolph the Rat for showing us our inabilities of aging in this case

05-Oct-19
Good clue. Mrs Cee is on fire this morning. TFTC
