We spent here in the Logan Shire 10 days - mainly to participate in the GCLOGAN events where we met known and new cachers. All good things are coming to an end, so also these days.We used today to clean up caches which we didn't like to leave behind or which we passed during our today's target caches.Tftc mkell75, Logan Geocaching

Went for a lovely morning stroll with the geo dog, Wife and horse. After recovering from laughing at the sound the local Alpacas make when the sense danger we set off.We quickly found our selfs at the lovey site of the geocache. After obtaining permission from the resident huntsman, I was able to retrieve and sign the log before returning it. TFTC

When you are walking towards a fence and see a couple of dogs, you are never sure what to expect. Some dogs are just happy to see you. Others bark without even looking at you and then some seem hellbent on testing the structural integrity of the fence before they work out of its easier to remove your limbs one at a time or all in one bite.

Normally you can tell what kind of dogs they are based on how far away you have to be before they start barking. If they wait until you are right on them, then they are basically just cologne testers. They are the ones that spray the test scents onto 20 different cardboard cards before walking out of the shop without making a purchase.

At the other end of spectrum, if you have 000 on speed dial then the dogs taste for blood puts vampires to shame.

The dogs today were the ones that make a lot of noise but would be rather be licking their own backsides whilst chewing on a 6 month old bone. It was token barking at best. We walked right up to them and they barked but couldn’t be bothered to chase us any further. Once we walked off they were happy with themselves they had passed their dog union test.

After a quick find we walked back passed the dogs and the token barking seemed even lamer. It’s not just teenagers, even dogs these days aren’t trying. tftc

No I’ve walk. Out of all the locations I was surprised to find this one closest to the dogs. Coords were off which made it a bit trickier

Looks like the guardian is gone and someone ransacked the box so I’ve put together as best as I could and re hidden.

Gotta take a break from writing up caches! So a trip out organised by hatzofff, with imbunda, grand of course, Miss Millie.

Gave this one a miss today due to the soggy conditions and lack of appropriate footwear.

Another(drier) time. TFTC, mkell75, Logan Geocaching

I found it in the nearby tree just like the last post said.
I found the GC but unfortunately it was empty and no logbook insight. I also had to battle with sticky mud and ankle deep water.
So if you come here bring gumboots.

I got spotted by some Muggle Dogs

Today, the plan was a kayak paddle on Lake Wyaralong to facilitate an event. The weather forecast was predicting rain showers, but we had a dry and pleasant paddle. A small group then took a drive to Beaudesert for a coffee / early lunch, before then taking a walk around Nindooinbah Dam.
During the afternoon, Beardman75 and I took a walk around King Coolum Reserve, and then I took a drive north finding a few geocaches around Jimboomba and targeting a few oldie geocaches within the vicinity.

The walk to GZ was rather soggy, and I actually needed to take my good shoes through ankle deep water without any clear route in staying dry. I soon arrived at GZ, and spent a good chunk of time searching the wrong tree (at the posted coordinates), before reading past logs and noting that the cache was found in a nearby tree. I can concur with these logs that the coordinates were about 10 m out. There was a cache guardian that I had to contend with, but otherwise, the cache container and logbook were in good shape. I was a little perplexed to understand why this cache size was "other", and wondered that maybe this geocache was something else back in its day (perhaps something creative?). Thanks mkell75, Logan Geocaching for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

It was over 4 years ago that I last searched for this cache. Today I was back in the area during a relaxing drive to Beauy and back with friends and took the detour to have another check on it.

This time Nobby and I took the stroll and left the women in the car to chat. Luckily, the grass had been recently mown and it was a pleasant stroll to the area and this time the cache was spotted straight away.

Finally managed a visit to QLD after 2 years of planning and 6 lockdowns. New LGA's for me and fav caches were the main caches of focus.

On our way to Lamination Park we had this on our list to find. Happy to report a quickish find at GZ.

Thanks to mkell75, Logan Geocaching for the placement and fun.

Not sure if the cache is meant to be up higher. Was found in the fork of tree. Tried to replace where we thought it might have fallen from. What a fantastic little spot! Found a pelican as an added bonus!

Nice walk. Nasty spiders and grass to battle. But young geobuddy was not to be thwarted. Nicely found.

After finding Shaggy this was a pleasant stroll... plenty of birdlife to watch, no Roos though, just lots of “evidence” that they are around...

The alpacas (or llamas) across the road were also a highlight... tftc...

Out today to continue my challenges of a trad a day and a cache a day, I was invited on a tag along drive trip with JACS TEAM, hitting some target caches. It was good for me to experience and see how effortless caching can be and I learnt heaps from the experience of Sheridan; thank you for a great day.
Our target caches were aimed at the d/t grid, attributes and older caches. There was one particular cache that helped JACS TEAM complete their 6th loop of the d/t grid, congratulations.
This cache was an easy find and reassembly dry to walk around today, all good with cache. With log signed and cache returned as we found it, it was off to the next one on our list.
Thank you for placing this one here and I will be back to grab the others in the area at a later date.

Got me almost wet feet to come here, but I managed to come to the right trees. The spiders tried to defend the cache, but it didn't help them. Wrote my name in the logbook and on my way to the next one. Greetings from Holland. TFTC.

One would think that finding a cache in a well out of the way reserve on a week day would be fairly easy and private exercise, but not so here!

I'd done a risk assessment nearby so thought I'd treat myself to a local cache or two and wandered in here. I didn't get too far before I spotted the local roo population and they spotted me. Ooh! Like a kid clinging to the seats in a game of musical chairs I cautiously veered from one clump of trees to the next, hugging the trees in each as I went.

I did get closer to GZ and started looking for the cache, all the time keeping a wary eye on the big male as he didn't seem inclined to move. Just when I thought I'd spotted the cache, the roos and I became aware of a roaring noise coming closer. It was a big ride-on mower whizzing along which did sort the roo problem out, but then posed another in that there was now a muggle presence cluttering up my hunt. Sigh!

He did a few runs up and down and then disappeared towards the road so I did manage to get my hands on the logbook once he'd gone. I signed it and was about to return it when there was more roaring noise and another ride-on mower appeared! I wonder how many of them are lurking back there?
So I had to wait it out again until he too disappeared before returning the logbook.

I had a quick scurry over to the lake to look at the birdlife on it and then made fast tracks outta there in case the roos returned and there were no more ride-on mowers to frighten them off.

Phew! Well that wasn't such a private place after all! I think the only thing I didn't see was the owl.

To CO: please DELETE the log of AlpacaInAGreenCivic7. This is clearly a TROLL. Surprised This individual has been logging geocaches all over the world in only ONE day.... Unless he's Superman, of course impossible!
His account has already been blocked by Groundspeak...

Having set up camp at the Tully Memorial Park (where free camping is allowed for 3 nights) we ventured out to find a few caches. This morning we were in the company of El Peregrinos as we happily met up with them by chance last night at this camp. We found a variety of hides and containers and the micros in the bush (especially the particularly creative ones) tested our perseverence. Thankyou Logan Geocaching for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area Big GrinBig Grin

After a paddle at Wyaralong, I decided to pick up a couple of caches on the way home. I walked in to this one in my Birkenstocks as an Air Force jet flew overhead. I don’t know if it was me or the jet that startled the kangaroos. Cache was found quickly but, as previously noted, is in poor shape

The walk to this cache is much more pleasant than the D&T ratings might suggest, although we can imagine this area being a muddy mess after a bit of rain. Like others, we began circling the wrong GZ, but eventually found the container at 10m off. The cache is suffering from weather and ant damage but, surprisingly, the logbook has remained intact. We enjoyed watching the water birds on the lake.

No luck for me today.

I resorted to a PAF but still couldn't find the cache. If the CO is checking could they also check the coordinates as others have indicated that they are out a bit?

27-Jul-17
Out for a tour around the Jimboomba/ Beaudesert region to, hopefully, pick up a few smilies.
Spent a couple of minutes searching GZ then moved a little further away to find the cache safely tucked away.
The 'container'could do with some repair.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

This is a great hide of this nicely constructed geocache. We hunted at the wrong GZ at first before switching and making the find. Thanks mKell75 (and now Logan Geocaching) for an interesting geocache. It could do with some assistance as previously noted by an earlier finder. Some glue or nails are needed as the bottom is in position but not attached. Thanks and cheers!

04-Jul-17
After finding our parking spot we strolled around the lagoon park to GZ. We had a couple of likely spots to start searching in until I eventually spied the corner of the container. TFTC.

Enjoying a lovely day out caching with geo friends and this was a nice pleasant walk to get to GZ where our search proved fruitless until we decided to widen our search.
Loved the camouflage and the little cutie inside although the top needs some attention as the weather has damaged the top.
Thanks mkell75 and Logan Geocaching for the neat hide, a favorite point from me and TFTC Smile

While traveling home from the Stinson event at Christmas Creek, I decided to do this cache. Found the cache easily as well as the scary eight legged cache guardian. At first I thought it was the real guardian until it moved. I removed it to get to the cache. Sadly this great cache is falling apart. TFTC!

I felt a bit conspicuous out here at GZ. I really did not blend in wearing my business attire. I was glad not to see any muggles out and about at the nearby residences.
The container was absolutely checkers with ants and eggs, though is now cleaned out. Unfortunately the base of the unit has come loose. Log book is in a good condition.
Thanks for the interesting area,

Next stop on my way back towards home after the event down at Lake Wyaralong, and as I parked noticed a familiar car here. I had a feeling that I would run into Gunnie69 as I got out of the car.

I wandered in and soon arrived to find Gunnie69 looking around GZ, glad to have another pair of eyes to join the hunt. A few minutes focused in one area and then considered another option and sure enough the cache was soon spotted. It could use a little TLC as some parts are no longer connected properly but all is still basically in tact.

I had been at GZ about 10 minutes or so, when I was joined by OrionJ. Having checked the logs and hint, I was still none the wiser and the cache size had me confused... I was focused on a particular area which turned out to be my undoing as OrionJ wandered over "there" and spotted the container in plain sight... Oops... Red Face

Cache now in hand, details were added to the log, container replaced and we headed off. My last for the day, so time to head home.

Cheers mkell75.

I had to go out to Wyaralong to check up on one of my own caches. I have slowly been picking off all the caches that are between home and there with each visit.

It was this one's turn today. Smile

The parking area looked familiar - I did the cache here 4 years ago. Big Grin A short walk to GZ for a nice quick find.

A nice construction. A favourite point for it. [^]

We stayed at the in-laws last night and this morning I'm heading out for a ride at QMP but first there's a few caches I wanted to find. This happened to be the first for the morning after topping up with fuel and grabbing a coffee.
I wasn't entirely sure about the approach and location of this one, being that it's close to the nearby house but as it was still pretty early I figured I should at least have a look. As it turned out it was ok, plenty of cover from eyes to get the job done. The cache construction was a nice surprise too, well done on mkell75.
It was actually quite nice here early this morning. Beautiful blue sky over a calm lake with plenty of bird life is always a great way to start the day.
Thanx again mkell75, appreciate the effort

We turn up to the designated parking spot. There are no signs to say that this is a public place. What a shame because maybe more people would come here. We decide that the council like driveway entrance with the locked bar looks like the public are allowed. We continue.

We had a lovely stroll along the lagoon and then came across the cache. LOL. Such effort has been made here. Thank you for bringing me here.
