Originally tried for this a while ago but daunted as I on my own. Have driven past this lots since but near today with no.13 and gave it a try. All good. Just a little awkward to get to. Tftc
Easy to park on the side, grass was just cut recently. Yes, be a bit careful and keep walking around if you can't spot it, I started searching too early but at right spot you will see it immediately.
A nice quick find thanks.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee road trip to Nelson. Today we had a great day cruising around Motueka, upper Moutere, and wherever the gps took us.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Good time out with tufty, out hunting the wonders, had alot of fun, thanks.
Another out and about trip with DragonDefender mainly searching for caches with the Wonders he needs and caches that I haven't signed off.
A few prickly bushes here.
Cheers for the cache.

Made it past the hawthorn and got it. A lot of the logs do look like they're wearing off the paper, I'm the first to sign the back of it. And took a photo just in case!
Although the coordinates were good, we spent some time trying various hint objects before making it to the correct one, carefully avoiding electric fence/gorse/hawthorn. TFTC
I had to check the easier places before getting to the right place. Nice cache camo. TFTC.
Another nice hide. Thank you Sidewaze for this cache.

#19934. For some reason (that I no long remember) I let Troodles get stuck in and find this one. She had to go through a number of hint objects before working her way round to right one. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ en route to Motueka, via the scenic route (which included Ad Labs and solved puzzles).
I drew the short straw with this one and had to wade through long grass and brave a prickly bush before I finally reached the right hint object. Luckily the cache was a quick find once in the right place. TFTC.

RG suggested I head in a bit deeper, so I did and found the cache. Got a bit of old gorse in my hair as well, but no matter. First of the day ticked off. TFTC Sidewaze.
RG1972 are out and about today getting a few caches in the Moutere area, but more importantly, desperately looking for somewhere to have a good lunch. Our first option was unfortunately shut, but we found a good spot in Gravity winery and had a nice time there. Some of the caching was less successful with two DNFs, but we will return.

Another good history lesson here leading to a quick find. I spotted the trail and followed it avoiding the prickly bits along the way. Thanks Sidewaze for the well made cache.
Getting around the area geocaching - Fav point added We loved all the caches we did while on holiday.

Thanks for putting out this container for woolwood9 and I to find!
Another long day for us with first find just before 7-00am and finishing after 9-00pm with only one 20 minute stop for hot food.
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on the many wet or plastic logs)
*Soon located, plenty more light rain today*
Have to admit I had slightly bad words about the cache while getting it!
Waist high soaking wet grass was not much fun, but a good find when located.

#8578. I have been over in the Nelson region for the past week, mainly up in Takaka on a work trip but managed to squeeze in some geocaching on the weekends either side and on a couple of other days. After driving back to Nelson last night and staying with a friend I had some time prior to my flight back to Wellington in the afternoon to pick up more caches in the Nelson area. This was one of them. My muggle friend has joined me on the trip today although she has geocached with me a few times now and knows what to look for.
We initially parked too far down the road as I thought it was hidden at the bridge. But no its up the hill a bit. So wandered up there and spied the electric fence and then the hawthorn tree. So had to squeeze past both to access the cache. But it was a quick find once here and the cliff nearby was noted. The logbook was duly signed and the cache replaced where found. Thanks Sidewaze for hiding it here and the history lesson about the name of the road. Had no idea German settlers had moved into this area so far back in the past.

I am really surprised that we found it. This is a great spot to hide it and really got us looking..!
Stopped off here to for a quick snag and tag. Cheers
Its another weekend exploring Nelson and Tasman with The Seagnoid, Toby and Zara. Early start out of Blenheim getting to Nelson by 8am. Had a great weekend picking up a couple of Labs, even a new one on our way home in Havelock.

I disabled my caches during Level 4 lockdown to encourage everyone to do the right thing. Now we’re moving to Level 3 I’m going to leave the decision to search for a cache or not to each individual. Remember you still need to stay in your bubble and a bit of hand sanitiser before and after handling a cache would be appropriate. Keep yourself and others safe.

Too much blackberry attacking me on approach... Jandals and shorts weren't the best choice of attire for this failed attempt.
Out for a drive around Upper Moutere and Dovedale today grabbing a few caches. Managed to stay mostly dry. Jumped right in and made the find. Thanks for the cache.
Queens Birthday Weekend so we are off caching for the long weekend. Todays route took us from Greymouth to Motueka via Dovedale. A nice easy find by Mum. First in the replacement book. Thanks for the effort in placing the cache for everyone else's enjoyment.
No sign of cache despite limited options of places to look from hint. Certainly signs of recent storm damage.
Need to check on some earthworks and so was passing by.
TregearP and I had looked for this previously and left with nothing but scratched and itches for our troubles. Still a few of those today but this time came up with the goods which made it all worth while.
All in good order, took nothing, left nothing, signed log and replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache.

TFTC. Up in Nelson for the long weekend. I decided to head to the Moutere area today. Lovely day to be out and about in the sunshine.
Thanks Sidewaze for placing the cache in this lovely area.

Heading away from the event and snapping up anything on offer. I did have designs on the mint trail but changed my mind, and route, due to the threatening rain. Took a few minutes to find this replaced cache, checked there once, then found on the second sweep. T F T C Sidewaze, again!
Today is International Geocaching Day which means a souvenir is up for grabs- yay, though I've recently gained all those pesky Mary Hyde ones so am not short of a bit of (virtual) Geo-bling. Broke the day into 3 distinct phases; Phase 1 was the event back in Blenheim, a 0700 start, flat white and gentle Geo-chat. Phase 2 was the inevitable trip over the hill, drop the girls off at the shops and dash off and grab a 'quick' 3 caches before moving them for Phase 3 - trip to Richmond Mall for them, and a trip up the Moo Tree Valley for me, culminating in a 2nd event of the day. All ion all a successful day, though the weather was not what was advertised, there was some leakage from the sky which was not all that welcome. My current 'poorly' G P S just about coped and gave up the treasure as required, it lives on (for now!)

Well, this one was a failure for us hunted high and low at GZ and found no cache . Did find an item (away from GZ) i thought mmm make a good cache so I stashed away for myself.
Gave up and were heading home and after stopping to chat with a friend the cache owner happened to come by. After some discussion we returned to GZ showing our search place was correct and verified it had gone . Turns out the iem found off GZ was the cache so was returned to cache owner to replace . Permission given to log.

Thought we were losing our finding abilities with this one so had started heading home when we saw Libitee and stopped to say hi and then the cache owner turned up ( we should have called it an event !!) She offered to come back to the cache with us - found that the cache was no longer there - and that the item Stretch0 had found away from GZ was indeed the missing cache - She took the cache away for some TLC and gave us permission to log - Thanks Sidewaze
Out and about with our 7 year old grandson doing some 'treasure hunting'. Had a chuckle at myself at GZ, pays to look properly. Interesting bit of history as well tftc
Off on a days caching with MuzzaL53 helping him get to 2000 - well someone had to help him!! 40 for the day for me, such fun!. TFTC
The CO knows we found this cache. She sat in the car chatting to SoBad while Mrs Sobad followed the GPS to a quick find. Mrs S did comment that the cache could easily have been a much harder cache to look for if only part had been used and in a nearby spot. But as it wasn't 'that sort of hide' but 'this sort of hide' it was only a short wait for the CO in the car before we headed to a nearby spot for coffee.
Thanks for the fun afternoon, the coffee, the history lesson and this cache of course.

My last planned Moutere cache for the day. I never did find the archived one by the bridge, so was happy for a quick find and an bit of history here.
Now off to see if I can get that (unplanned) FTF near Hira.
Thanks

I'd been saving this one for some reason or other but after a DNF further afield it came up on the radar as a contender. Nice hide and very interesting cache description. Back to the car just before a heap of kids trooped up the hill. TFTC #8577
Taking the long way from Blenheim to Motueka for a family gathering. I love history caches - at least they have a point to them - so many other caches out there seems to have forgotten what geocaching is about (to take you somewhere amazing). Alas, I do not love micros. Oh well. Thanks for the cache!
Out on a caching expedition with B&W and KE.
We biked and walked from Flora to Bishops caves today and on our return the driver decided to head home this way. So this popped up on the RADAR and a plea for the team to let me do a dash and sign was agreed to.
Interesting cache description.
Thanks for the info and TFTC

Great to read a little more about those on board the Skiold. My great great grandfather arrived on that ship in 1844. TFTC sidewaze

We had intended a short family drive this afternoon with this cache being one of three that we intended to find. But as can happen we ended up in Marahau for a short walk and a few other caches so stopped by here on the way home. Not an instant find here but didn't take too long to spot. Interesting to read about the name of the road (and cache) and that if not for that early pioneers endeavours I may not even exist. [^] Certainly a piece of history that I wasn't aware of. +1

This cache was visited by one or more of the groups participating in an activity with the local Junior Youth Group. The groups were beep!, motorbooks and robots. They enjoyed the geocaching experience. .
Traveled to MOT to park up for 4 days. Then went for a drive sort of back the way we came.
remember another cache near here (BF ?)
Easy found and signed while a yearling called out instructions from over the road.
Thanks Sidewaze for the cache.

Day off work and out for a drive. Why not grab a couple of caches at the same time... This was the first. Thanks Sidewaze!!
I remember the other cache nearby and the fun and games involved in finding that. This one was a little bit easier. There is no trackable in the cache. Wondering how a trackable could actually fit in this cache unless it was a teeny tiny trackable?? CO may want to check that? TFTC, Biggles.
Found this one on memory of reading the description as forgot to download to gps. Ipad gave co-ords but no info.
We had to go to Mapua this morning so it was a simple matter head inland afterwards and grab this cache on the way home again. We were watched by a very observant pooch across the road before it trotted further afield.
Thank you Sidewaze.
Thank you Sidewaze.
It wasn't much of a detour to investigate this new cache after running an errant. The now archived cache at the bridge was one of our first finds. How time flies. With just a pooch observing, then ignoring us we had the place to ourselves. A brief search produced a well camoed cache. Nice! Thank you Sidewaze
It seems fitting that this should be our last cache in the South Island on this trip. A Sidewaze cache close to our friends home. Thanks to the caching community of Nelson for all of their hides. It's been a fun four months and thanks Sidewaze for the cache.
FTF thank you 2:10pm
arrived at GZ, searched around and we were surprise to see a blank log.
