Spending a few days in Russell on holiday away from work and busy Auckland. Its so lovely here and we enjoyed this walkway to grab this cache. TFTC!
1189. 1:45 pm. Another quick find with GRAKIWI. I was expecting 'up' with a title like clothes peg. TFT(walkway)C.
Up here on a holiday with the side goal of finding as many TMGT caches as we can.
Walking from Okiato to Russell today.
A quick find. Love the mangroves.

Decided to walk from Opua to Russell and back to get a few caches along the way. We walked across on the car ferry from Opua and up onto the road until we got to the part of the track we wanted to start with since we have previously done part of this track we decided to miss a couple of the first stages. We had to contend with a broken section of the boardwalk that has been a bit demolished we assumed by a car. Had lunch in Russell before catching the passenger ferry to Pahia and then walked back to Opua. What a massive day.
Picked a peg pretty close to this cache. Saw numerous other but could not collect without getting the feet wet. We find quite a few pegs on beaches so havn't had to buy pegs in ages. I thought they came from boaties but was interested to hear they came from the oyster farmers.
Thanks for the cache

*We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.*
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!

With muggle niece visiting from Oz, today seemed like a good day to show her some of the sights in the BoI and introduce her to the world of geocaching.
After doing the ones on ToreTore, we got dropped off at the top of the hill and walked down to this one and with the good hint and a clue from previous logs, the cache was soon located by the muggle. She was happy to make a find on this not so easy one. Signed log and then replaced safe and secure for the next finder. TFTC

Enjoying the day out around the islands exploring Russell & Okiato after an enjoyable Ferry ride. What a great walk. TFTC
General log:
Today we travel from Russell to Rawena (west coast). Not a long drive, but when geocaching it can take all day. We attempt 18 and found 17, so that's quite a good score. Thanks to all the CO's for hiding and maintaining their caches.
It's not where the hint suggests. Placed it where I found it which is at the very backside of the bamboo.

Greetings from Tauranga. Wrong end of a very long and hot walk. Opposite the pegs was the mudflats, unless we were looking at the wrong pegs. Looked in the bamboo, but there was so much of it and no real idea of just where to look, so after a while we called it quits. TFTC
Another boardwalk - cool. Loving these. Now its a bamboo hut. Ugg. Finally snagged and taged this elusive one after a hunt around. Saw lots of these pegs - what are they used for? Cheers
Thursday - day Thirteen - Kerikeri - Russell with The Seagnoid , toby and William. Zara gets to rest up in KeriKeri.
Its another epic 3+ week geocaching adventure with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and Willam to the Far North. What an amazing place to explore. Lots of walks, gravel roads and sand. Lots of amazing trees, beaches and interesting POIs. Lots of kilometers traveled by vehicle and foot. Vehicle breakdowns, making new friends and catching up with old friends and family. Snagged a couple of FTF's, lots of lonely caches and the odd event along the way. Lots of cache maintenance and replaced caches on this trip. But what an incredible adventure!!. Thanks to all the CO's who have made this trip so memorable..

I've lost my notebook with all my cache notes. The dragon says we found this with "boardwalk - cool". I wish I could remember.
Day thirteen of an awesome, tiring, long, three week holiday geocaching with Taybeedragon in the upper north. Russell. The whole trip comprised of hours of walking on sand, sliding down sand dunes, hundreds of kilometres of unsealed roads, car breakdowns, paddling out to islands, lighthouses, dolphins, goats, events, FTFs, weird boulders. You name it, we saw it. Lots of bisons, lots of cache maintenance, lots of sunscreen. A month is enough. I am glad to be back home. Except that now I have to write up my trip. We averaged just 20 caches per day, but that is still a lot of logging!
Merry Christmas from the Seagnoid!

Found, but it took my a lot of time. It was quite dificult to find it. I started looking for the cache from wrong site. This bamboo cache will be not one of my favorite caches. Also a poison for mouses was right next to a bamboo. I walked today the circle walk from Paihia to Russell via Opua and Okiato with using of two ferries. It is great walking track in nice nature with beautiful views. During this day I found 20 caches. One cache I was not able to find "The World is my Oyster" GC6E900. In my opinion is no more there. It was one of my busiest geocaching days on my 6 weeks journey in both islands of New Zealand. I found during my holiday on islands almost 200 caches. I'm sending greetings from Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Thanks for showing of this place. Thanks for the cache.
Part of the Bay of Islands Walking weekend today so checked a few caches. New container, dry cache!
As said previously. This cache is not at the hint location but in the bamboo, also it's lidless now.
Won’t log this as we didn’t have a pen to sign. Container damaged, lid cracked, needs maintenance
After 5 minutes on our knees we read the previous logs and then it was a quick find! TFTC
found this after readig preveous logs .Contents were wet. We put in a temporary log sheet. Dropped a tb. TFTC
Today we spent the day on the Russel peninsula. We saw great beaches, fantastic bays and a deep blue sea. All caches we visited could be found well and safely. The coordinates and the hints were great.
A beautiful view.
Thank you for all the nice caches Moorhelmi from Germany

Making our way along this walkway, we come to this very unusual place. Quite bizarre I suppose, seeing these pegs that look like little men. Even the bamboo seemed out of place. Nothing strange about the cache though, took a few seconds for supernanny to coax it out.
Sure is pretty funny about the recurring presence of clothes pegs around this bay !!!! Quite spooky almost. Gorby and I enjoyed seeing the clothes peg installations ! Cache easy to find thanks RussellSchool !
Lovely walkway !
Lovely walkway !
Good story and good walk on the board walk to. The tuis are having fun in the red flowers and sun today. Tftc
Lowtide...found & added 11 more pegs to the collection so many tui, having a party in the flame tree!
(1877) Up in the Bay today doing some caching. Lovely day for a walk along the board walk. Found cache out leaning against the peg stump. Hid cache back under. TFTC
Out for a days geocaching road trip with mr tikitour, Vistra and Pageheart. travelling around the mid north and into Puketi forest. What a great day, weather was good, great company , lunch on a deck overlooking the beautiful Tapeka point and not a DNF today.....we signed the log in variations of TPV to save space and time.
Enjoyed the art work at GZ...most unusual find..lol...TFTC

I was up in Whangarei for the long weekend and today joined up with tikitour and PageHeart for an all day road trip around Russell, Waitangi, Kerikeri and the outskirts of Puketi Forest. It was a great day out with great company, lots of caches found and pleasingly not a single DNF! We mostly signed the logs with some variation of TPV for our caching names.
This cache was a quick find as we explored various sections of the Okiato/Russell walkway. An unusual feature this, TFTC!

So today saw a geocaching adventure with Vistra, Tikitour and myself. Our adventurer started early in the morning and saw us heading for a bunch of caches both new and old in Russel and Puketi Forest and surrounding back-roads. In total we spent over 14 hours on the road and out caching visiting places that we would never have gone without caching,
Logs were signed with initials VTP or a variation of the letters to save time and space.
A stump covered in peg! Not not we really expected to find but it was such a cool surprise. TFTC and a fav from me

Noticed a proliferation of pegs on my last walk so thought I'd bring a bag to collect flotsam & trash out.... then this cache popped up! lol, like the artsy up cycling idea much better TFTC!
Last day of our 4x4 six day sarfei . so was great to finish off with a visit to Russell today. enjoyed the lovely views and long beach and neat to have a few new caches to find while nearby.
Yah First to Find. I saw this pop up a few days ago and was keen to go then. I had planned to come to Russell with the kids sometime before school starts again. It was fun walking, beaching and caching day. Glad this was still waiting for me. I really wanted to show the kids this part of the walkway. It's such a lovely track. A quick find - no pegs to add to the collection today. TFTC
