This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).

I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.

Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache.

If you plan on repairing this cache, please log a note to the cache (not email) within the next 28 days so I don't archive the listing for non-communication.

We have travelled up from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to the Central Coast, staying for a couple of nights in a park cabin at the Blue Lagoon Beach Resort (Caravan Park) in Bateau Bay, for a short weekend getaway & caching holiday. Our primary caching target areas will be along the coastal strip from The Entrance to Terrigal, Erina, and Gosford. A total of 6 finds for today, and 30 finds for the weekend.

No luck for us at this one today. Searched around GZ for a while, in amongst all of the rubbish (looks like someones been living here), but failed to find the cache. We did find a "message in a bottle" which contained a treasure map & note, but it wasn't the treasure we were seeking so we had to leave with a big fat DNF. TFTH anyway nothinspecial13.

I must admit that I agree with Brown7 on this one.
We gave the area aquick look, but did not want to rumage around. The spot has too much rubbish, not very safe.

01-Oct-19
Pretty nasty spot. So much rubbish and glass, worried for geokids. Shame

We left Australia 12 years ago with our daughter and after all that time we are back on a holiday to show the daughter were she was born.
We loved this beach. In its lagoon we went swimming with our toddler.
The hiding place was full of bottles and other garbage. In Europe we pay a deposit on bottles which is returned once the bottles are returned. That would be a great concept for here. Ether the people take their own trash or kids improve their pocket money by collecting the bottles.
The cache itself was wide in the open. I placed it at the bottom of a tree/bush with many branches.

Thank you for placing this cache.

Best regards,

CrankyGerman

Lovely area in general, and now I know we can bring our little dog to the rocks/beach here.

GZ though, isn't so nice, with bottles and crap everywhere. The bottle with a hosepipe in it (obviously a candle holder Smile ) was still there. Definitely a 'poke everything with a stick when you search' cache. Thankfully I found the cache quick, it was just lying there open with some sort of logbook sticking out the top... Did my best to pack it up better than I found it, though the lid is broken. I basically left it where I found it.

So that future visitors don't spend too much time looking inside rubbish, the cache is a black container with a purplish lid. TFTC.

This place makes me want to vomit!
My 7 yr old thought the hose in the bottle was the find! Bong on...

Find # 4997
Found with sesblocker.
Great coordinates made for an easy find. We were greeted with the sight of someone's camp site. We saw the lid of a Sistema and thought it was muggled. No, we searched the GZ better and found the cache. 21° on a Winter day is awesome.

Pretty sure this is the cache, totally muggled and this area seems to be a haunt for bong smoking teenagers. The lid was a few metres away from this.

Searched all around but no find for us today.

25-Nov-18
Not sure it was where it is supposed to be but it was definitely there... After I arrived I put my gear down and started searching through the bushes, and was about to give up after 10+ minutes and it turned out to be about 5cm from where I put my gear...
Might need the owner to check it's in the right spot. TFTC

05-Apr-18
Swellerfungus, Dez(JezNDez) and I hunted for this one today but came away empty handed. Judging by the discarded litter around here it seems to be a spot well used by muggles. Could do with a checkup to confirm if still in situ.

#4290 (15 of 23 today)

The Geowife is spending the weekend at a friend's place on the Central Coast, and they'll be doing various crafty things. I gallantly offered to drive her up there early in the morning (her friend will be driving down on Sunday anyway so she can get a lift home).
So, what to do with the rest of my day? Big Grin

Well, given the fact I've cleared out most of the caches closer to home (ie only the new or can't find / solve are left) any day I can cache well away from my normal haunts means I can go for numbers. Decided to start where I was, work my way to The Entrance and then back down the coast.
Was hoping to make my 4300 milestone but just fell short - two longish DNFs saw to that. But I'll take 23 finds gladly. Even grabbed a puzzle I solved on the fly.

Very enjoyable day - except the first DNF. Must come back up this way again soon.
But so many logs to do...
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Walked down the track to a deserted beach. Quickly spotted a track up the hill in the right direction so...

Got to GZ and started looking. Took about 10 minutes before I turned around and spotted the obvious. An easier spot than I thought.

Completed signing duties and replaced. And then two muggles arrived and set up near the start of the track. Luckily they were too interested in eachother to spot me get back to the beach.
Then just a simple walk back to *The Hademobile*.

We needed a cache near a beach to drop off a beach-loving tb and this seemed to be a perfect spot. From here it could surf all the way home to England. Tftc.

19-Jun-17
Found on this drizzly afternoon. GZ seems to be a local drinking spot, judging by the bottles. Found cache surprisingly well concealed in a very accessible spot. Bag is holey and container cracked, so some TLC will be wanted sooner or later. Thanks nothinspecial13.

In the area with Little Roo we saw this near by cache. It was a really nice day to be at this amazing spot. 3.45pm of streak day #31

Woohoo the day has arrived! We managed to pull off this 31 day alt cache streak! Still got a few caches up my sleeve actually so I might keep going at least through the weekend and see how far we can go. Decided to close the streak off formally with this one in Long Jetts today after dropping off a work colleague from our job in Morisset today. Lovely down on the beach after a long day. Lid has been tightened too much by someone at some stage and has thus broken. Needs to be replaced. Apart from that the log is a little damp but ok. Good little hide. TFTC!

Back on the day this was published I headed over in high hopes, only to wind up recording a DNF. Now, back over this way again and doing some of the nearby caches, it was high time for another attempt. The updated coordinates helped a lot, but even so I spent an embarrassingly long time barking up the wrong, er, never mind. In the end I twigged, relieved at last to find it.

The lid of the container has split and the logbook bag is torn, and although the logbook is still dry, it may need some TLC before the next big wet.

Many thanks for the hide and glad to have at last made amends.

Today I took some interest in my Finds per Day Stats and seeing a blank today, decided to fill it with a Find.
Quickly parking the car I jumped out and dashed towards GZ with Torch in hand just in case. I was very happy to get a quick find.
BTW I had to dodge several dog walkers along the way. I miss playing here, as I did in my youth, its a great bit of shoreline.

I was up on this part of the Coast today and saw that two new caches had appeared since I was last here. This cache gave me the chance to have an enjoyable wander along the beach, before my GPS pointed me up a "track" through the vegetation. At first, I thought it may have been a geo-trail ... but once I reached the clearing, it was pretty clear from the repurposed soft drink bottles and other things there, that this area was more of a teenage hideaway.

After a bit of a search, I eventually came upon the cache closer to the entry point to the clearing than my GPS was suggesting it would be ... it's possible that a bit of cache creep has occurred because where it is, the DT rating is probably a bit higher than it should be .... but the cache is well concealed by natural camo at the moment, and is in good condition. Thanks for the cache nothinspecial13 and for the smiley.

The beach was packed on such a great day but few people were up where I was headed. I was very lucky to park in the front of the carpark so MrsFish could watch the beach while I walked up to cache. Soon after I was at GZ and it did not take long to find with the coordinates now really close. I had a TB with me but forgot to leave it, so next time. Thanks for a good hide in the sandhills, you were kind with this as it could have been much harder to find.
