What a spooky little cemetery. Beautiful spot but eerie indeed. Tftc

16-Jul-23
The tornado that ripped through, really caused some serious damage. So many big trees completely uprooted, and there is plenty of scrambling over the top of them. It's a shame that the tornado had to impact this beautiful cemetery. Still able to find without problems. TFTC

The trees were not bulldozed or knocked down on purpose in this area a mini tornado thing went through that area in a strip if you look around you can see the strip it went through and it carries on through over and past even the general cemetery which is around a bit further from this cemetery where another cache is located just wanted to inform everyone that the trees are down in that area thanks to nature not humans…

Did a couple of jigsaws and re-solved a couple of history mysteries to fill my time before taking a trip to Hill End via Wellington. I decided to use geocaching to show me things in the area I had previously missed. It worked.

Highlights were a number of lookouts, the Cornish Roasting Pits, and an incredibly creepy looking graveyard.

Thanks to everyone who hid these caches.

Find No.
Found with sesblocker. We are now camped at Hill End and tackling the TRLT series for a couple of days.
Good coords made for a quick find. The cache containers look like new eclipse tins. We found the melted remains of a Sistema at a nearby tree.

Hill End and Mudgee weekend April 2018. I set out late on Thursday after a small car battery issue. I only stopped once before a night at Bummeroo ford. Friday took me to Orange via many spread out caches between Oberon and Bathurst. I spent the night at Macquarie woods. Saturday started foggy and then warmed up. I was heading to Hill end, and did make it, but I had to give up on the Bridle track due to a rockfall. Late in the evening I did find a spot along the Turon river and the very bumpy northern section of the Bridle trail. Sunday had me finishing the TRLT trail from Mudgee to Gulgong and a few missed ones in the middle of nowhere. The last day was a simple drive home from Sofala. A great weekend !

After the rough morning start on the Bridle Track it was a relief to get to normal roads, even dirt ones. A fun exploration of Hargraves was next and I enjoyed the several stops caching provided, including morning tea.

Thanks.

We are staying at the Mudgee showgrounds and with this extreme heat we headed out early and got back to the caravan by mid afternoon and the comfort of the aircon. We enjoy these rural locations and this was one of the caches we targetted and found. We appreciated the extra effort put into some of the caches to provide a more creative hide. Thanks to Joshwa27 for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area. Big GrinBig Grin

1/10/17. 9:29 AM. Cache #5339.
3rd of 71 finds today.

Day 2 of the long weekend for which I have come up to plunder caches in the Mid West Regional council. Having started the day up in Gulgong, the next part of my morning saw me getting all the caches in Hargraves and Tambaroora to the south, before tackling The Road Less Travelled.

I had already parked near this cache a while ago, but had headed off on foot to get "Hargraves Cemetery" first. Returned back past the car to this cache and used the hint to make a quick find of the replacement cache. Staying on foot, I can get the multi "Sophie Monies and Louisa Creek Cemetery" next. TFTC.

Looks like the previous finder has done a fix for this one, as I was the second signature and the container was not in keeping with the CO's style...funny how that same thing would occur twice in the next 30 minutes. TFTC.

Found the remnants of this one today.... a fire has been through here, melted bits of container. Replaced. Such an interesting place, just headstones here and there. Thank you for placing!

The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 30 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.

Well, we did find it, or what was left of it. Totally melted and sadly we did not have a single container we could use to replace with.

09-Jul-16
Was burned in a recent hazard reduction. container is mostly destroyed but log appears to be OK, just cant get to it as what left of the container is melted shut.

09-Jul-16
Had a Geo expedition today with the Geo Parents, from Windeyer to Hargraves via Hill End. Many finds and a good time had by all.

09-Jul-16
A hazard reduction burn has affected the area. We found the cache. However, it has melted shut and could not be signed. An interesting drive down this unsealed road after recent heavy rains. Our Forester displayed the "Enabling Vehicle Dynamics" warning which insulted me. As if this damn stupid computer knew how to drive better than me. TFTC

07-Feb-16
This was one cache to get today but whilst searching for another thought this shouldn't be far away. 15 m to be exact. Helped break up our, well maybe my stupidity.

Made a quick find.
