Thanks for the cache! A nice day and a nice drive. Had no problems getting to the cache.
Decided needed a mini holiday and made plans from coming back from UK mid year. I had picked an area of the country I have not visited before - New Plymouth. Once the Geotour had been published I had to change plans a bit to make sure I grab these along with caches I had marked as must get on the trip.
As a number of the geotour caches were down in Whanganui took a drive down grabbing caches on the way.
Took me a while to find this but glad the next door muggles came along so I went back to first instinct and followed GPS right to the container.

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

Quick find here on our way past. Cheers.
Day 4- Tuesday 17 December. Hawera district today.
Running around the Hawera district today in Toby, while Zara rests up. Checked Manawapou viaduct and Nowells Lakes.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

Yep, a straight forward find at another back country hall.
Day four of Taybeedragon's and my big 3 week circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki, starting from Palmerston North. Today is Hawera - it's going to be a slow trip!!
Highlights:
* 3 weeks, 536 caches
* Mt Taranaki had been removed for washing, which was a bit of a shame. Even after it had been returned we were only allowed to see it for it was less than half an hour a day.
* High percentage of caches with crappy coordinates
* Amazing Pukekura Park
* AMAZING Pukekura Park light show!
* Pukeiti Gardens
* Lots of cache maintenance!

went round and round looking for this one stopped looked up and behold spotted the gz .
Another break in the smiley series for this one, The hint was slightly confusing but the GPS was accurate.
Up here for an awesome weekend jaunt with Team Gators, TheWanglers and Karma Reprint to do a loop of the mountain in 48 hours grabbing as many caches as we could while having a good laugh. Logs signed as some derivative of (KT)^2
Cheers 2 Bulbars for the cache

A planned geocaching trip to the USA was shelved (but is all go for this time next year!) so we came up with a weekends Plan B. Taranaki with TheWanglers, KarmaReprint and KiwiMoose - logs signed (TK)^2 or a variation of. A really fun trip with the forecast rain and thunder seemingly always in the distance but never hindering us. A really fun weekend.
Arrived in New Plymouth; grabbed the rental and hit the road running - aiming for Hawera....
Woohoo - time to hit the Smile series. A fun set of puzzles ; from hard to easy. Brilliant parking for most too - appreciate the effort involved in creating and placing.
Hah this one was funny. Made the obvious mistake then I followed my GPS and made the find and sign - hint worked for me (but confused the others) it was indeed quite literally where the hint suggested quite clever... ha ha

A plan was hatched for a few of us to head to America for a Mad Mission. With life getting a bit crazy a downsized trip was organised as I had sorted childcare for the cachelets. The big America trip is now set for next year. We asked a member of our crew if we could go to Nelson, Dunedin, Auckland, Wellington, Hastings the answer all came back "I don't have many to find there". We left it to that member to suggest an area. He came up with New Plymouth and a loop around the mountain. That's a go from the rest of us. We sorted puzzles, gpxs, motels and a car and hit the ground running. The forecast was doom, gloom, rain, hail and lightning. Oh well, sounds exciting. We had very little of any of the weather that affected our caching and found we had all overpacked (thank God!).
Day 1: We grabbed the car and started caching at 2pm and made it to Hawera after 8pm settled into our accommodation and had a bit to eat and hit the town before calling it quits for the day.
Went to wrong side first.
Thanks for the cache 2 Bulbars.

Time for the Smiley trail. We managed to solve them all before leaving home, but some were quite tricky to get an answer for. Parking was pretty good for most hides as well, a bonus. Another rude not to stop moment. I beleive the hint is incorrect, and the coords are good. Cheers
Day one, New Plymouth airport to Hawera.
A long weekend cache raid to Taranaki. The weather didn't stop us doing anything, and we had fun times. Logs were signed with a combination of KT and 2 depending one which of did the signing. Thanks Kiwi Moose, Team Gaters and TheWanglers for a choice time.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

This weekend adventure had been 2 months in the making. An off the cuff comment made at a geocahing event late last year led to the planning and execution of a weekend in the Taranaki including summiting Mount Taranaki. I had a great time roadtripping and climbing with Gr33nslime and TwigNZ. We only collected 50 caches in total but had an amazing experience and saw some very unique hides. We logged our finds as team GST.
36 of 50 for this trip
We spent far to long searching in totally the wrong area for this one until we stopped to think again. aha, of course. that could be it. and yes it was.

This was the weekend I was finally going to get to climb Mt Egmont, something I have wanted to do for a while now, even before I discovered Geocaching!
I was part of a great team of 3, the others being Stardust718 and Gr33nslime, so for most of our logging this weekend we simply signed ourselves as either "G.S.T" or "Team G.S.T" depending on size of log sheet.
We had had an elated day yesterday, getting to the summit and back again safely, albeit with muscles that now complained heartily. But now it was time for the long drive home again, and a chance to pick up a few more caches on the way. We decided to only concentrate on caches that either were directly on our route, or maybe had an high amount of FP's, or else an 'other' sized container.
On approaching GZ, my GPS was pointing one way but my eyes were leading me another. We should have gone with the GPS as in the end it was right and the 3 of us were all wrong. At least it was only about 5-10 minutes of fumbling around before the penny dropped with my colleagues, soon after which we were having a laugh at having been so taken in. Very sneaky, and thoroughly well played!
Thanks for placing this cache.

# 1321 Yay, this weekend it was time for a roadie from the Hutt Valley up to Taranaki, with the prime mission being a summit of Mt Taranaki, and the secondary mission being 2bullbars smiley trail. There were a few other caches added for good measure too. Team GST as we named ourselves consisted of Gr33nslime, stardust718 and twigNZ. All up we found 51 caches and only two DNF so that is a pretty good hit rate. Sorry for the bulk log here. Thank you very much to all of the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches that we had the pleasure of finding on this trip.
This one had us looking in one spot for quite a while. Once again, its a matter of trusting the GPS and using a bit of lateral thinking. I liked this one for that fact, just needed to take the blinkers off. Stardust clicked on to this one.

A nice quick find on our way to a bbq, hope the rain stays away for the rest of the night. TFTC
This is a clever clue & had us stumped at first till we had a look around & then it all made sense!! The log is damp & tricky to write on.
Tftc!

Day 3 of my road trip for WENZ Mega. A late start from Wanganui after taking with my cousin for ages, and will end the day in New Plymouth.
Spotted the likely place almost as soon as I pulled up. A small barrier here today which was soon overcome (or undercome as the case may be).
Damp inside cache, could do with a little TLC, but nothing to do a NM log for.
Thanks for the smilie 2 Bulbars.

Flipping heck! Nearly got my hands stuck under the floorboards as I looked for the cache!!!! There was hardly any room for them. We did locate it - eventually. Signed as Team IE. TFTC
After a very chilly night in our campervan in Pembroke we headed for the Smiley trail, picking up a bunch of trads along the way.
This one had us smiling but it didn't fool us! Adding a Favourite point for the fun hint.

HAHA!!! Loved this one!!! Very clever!!!! Had to think out side the box for this one tftc
Like so many others I rocked up to the hall without checking how far out the GPS was. Struggled to see how I could get to this one without crossing a fence.
Then it dawned, spotted a board I could get to much easier and sure enough, cache located.
Cheers.

HINT so had us guessing , so wanted to jump that fence, but held true to the hint, soon found the cache once every place that could be looked at was looked at, TFTC and the wet knees,
I am still parked up in Hawera with the caravan and venturing out and about doing the rural caches.
I initially thought the CO had the coords wrong.[:o)][^]
Cheers for the cache.

Time to head back to Feilding after a great weekend in Taranaki. I'll have some time to do a little bit of caching on the way, but I don't want to go mad, as I want to get back to Feilding in daylight.
Another quick stop here. Just as I was getting back to the car, another vehicle approached and I thought I spied the familiar face of the CO inside.

Pulled up to this one, right outside the hall didn't even check the gps or phone just raced off full of beans and thought I know exactly where this one is ,(man was I in for a shock) I was nearly completely soaked.
HINT it's not the black bung underneath the water tank (that empty's their water tank oops).
Soon after was on the right track and cache was quickly in hand.
Thanks for the placement and the smiley

Another simple but clever cache that all depends on how you read it !!!! yes your GPS is actually right!On my home ward journey after being in New Plymouth for a week or so looking after mother in law and I called in at lunch time to say hello to L and L and to buy some more honey, We got talking about caches, as you do!, and about their new tricky caches not far from their land and after lunch Lester offered to take me their in the 4WD on a tricky road to one of them! and armed me with the very necessary gumboots which were definitely required for one of them. So it was a very fortunate event for me and I was able to find the four of these caches. The support was greatly appreciated! and now four more smiley faces. Many thanks L and L.
Another summer visit to locate the unfound caches and turn them into smilies. Great hide, fav point for this one TFTC.
Ignored obvious GZ due to GPS sending me to the namesake of the cache. Went back as realised my error soon after. Clever cache 2 Bulbars.
A quick find while the long grass gave great cover for a passing muggle in their car.
Thanks for the cache

Haha, sneaky!! Rolled my eyes to myself as I dragged myself up from lying on the gravel. Tftc
Found with samanthaisabell, on arriving we were scratching our heads for a while until something clicked and all made sense. All good, Tftc.
Out for a day of geocaching around Hawera. As today was World Sauntering Day - the day to take it easy; relax, go for a stroll and enjoy some valuable ‘me time’, a day which encourages you to slow down and enjoy the world around you. So no excuses, time to go strolling looking for geocaches. Turned out it was the day for it, found 23 out of 24 caches.
Parked up and saw something that looked like it may be the hide so again, sauntered over and cache was found - TNLNSL and left as found. Thanks for the placement 2 Bulbars.

This one had me thinking for a bit then something caught my eye. Well played 2bulbars, well played. A fab point for sneakyness! No travel bugs though
Good quick find.... Once we realised clue wasn't as straight forward as we thought.
Stopped in to grab this one on my way to visit a friend. The clue and coordinates had me scratching my head when I drove up...but the tell-tale cachers path led me straight to this one. TFTC
Very clever hide. I looked at the problem at trying to find the cache without entering private property and immediately realised my GPSr was giving me the solution. Did I mention this one is simply clever? Well worth a FP! TFTC Dropped of a TB.
We are slowly picking off south Taranaki caches that we have not yet found, and today we took advantage of a birthday visit to do a spot of opp-shopping and geocaching. While there were few treasures to be found in the shops we visited, we did well with the caches we looked for and got ourselves seven smileys.
This one had us looking in the wrong area at first, but it became apparent that there was no way to hide a container at our first spot of inspection. Re-checking the GPS and considering the hint, the hiding place became obvious. Nice hide, thanks for the cache.

Found today with Gnome62. Lesson one... believe your GPS. Nice hide, left a diamond. Thanks
Was down in Wellington for a few days, and decided that I'd make an extra long weekend of it and transfer a rental car back to Auckland and cache along the way. Unfortunately for the rental agency that ment nearly tripling the km's they thought I'd put on it!
With the rental car company only giving me 48 hours to get the car to Auckland a little bit of planing was needed to maximise what I wanted to accomplish, and with only a few DNF's it turned out to be a very successful trip. So a big thanks to everyone who had placed caches along the way, and for showing me some great sight's along the way.
Day 2: Wanganui to Hawera and home via the Forgotten Highway.
All good here, thanks for the hide.
