Quick find by my erstwhile non-caching companion. Thanks for another ttt/wb1116!
A gorgeous part of the track. Took longer than it should have due to the proliferation of hint objects. TFTC
Thoroughly enjoying today’s adventure. Thanks heaps for the placement- all good here. Interesting birdsong- recorded to see if I can find out what it is once back home. ( better not be a Tui!)
Thanks again m. Heading down carefully

Went sightly nutty with the myriad of candidate beeches and unhappiness of gps under the canopy. Once we'd stopped worrying about missing it the right spot presented itself in short order. Tftc
Beech forest is lovely to walk through. The bonus is having a cache to search for and an excuse for a break before a challenging descent. TFTC
Some tell tale sticks helped us narrow the possibilities. Tftc and a good resting spot. Quiet except for the sounds of creaking trees. Tftc
Another straightforward find in this lovely bush reserve. Thanks for placing the cache
Great spot. Hard climb. If doing the circuit I'd suggest coming down this side (anti-clockwise) but you'll need to take your time and have good grip on your footwear. TFTC.
#6921. Decided to tackle this loop today to pick up the caches. The weather has been remarkably fine and dry for this time of the year so hoped the track wouldn't be too slippy today. Apart from a few patches it was mostly dry and easy going underfoot. Haven't been up this loop track at all previously. It had a good variety of forest types with patches of tawa, some lovely hard beech forest on the spurs and patches of kamahi scrub higher up on the ridge. The trip did not start well as my GPS had a glitch and refused to pick up satellites. Its happened previously and can last for a few hours. I have no idea what causes it. So had to use my smart phone and Cachly App. Haven't relied on it previously. Not very familiar caching this way counting down the metres and not having a good topo map to look at. But luckily the hints were all nice and descriptive so I was able to compensate for smartphone inaccuracy with the helpful hints. Managed to find all nine caches attempted.
Enjoying walking down this spur. Lovely tall beech forest. Spied one that fitted with the provided information and there was the cache nicely tucked away. Signed the logsheet and replaced the cache where found. Thanks TTT for placing it here.

Its the end of the first week of the school holidays. My wife and I have sorted out a "tag team" plan for this week where I go to work in the morning and she goes to work in the afternoon. I knocked off work at midday and caught the 12.17 pm train to Melling. I was home before 1 pm and my wife headed straight off to work.
Later in the afternoon I had to drop one of my sons at Naenae Pool for his swim training. He is getting ready for the Auckland Junior Champs in December. They are packing in the lengths at the moment. I suggested to the other 2 kids that they might like to come up here for a walk and today they said "Yes"! We made a quick detour home to pick up Dexter the Border Collie and headed up here for a look around.
It was a very pleasant afternoon. We took our time climbing up, taking advantage of every flat area to stop for a breather. Dexter really enjoyed playing in the stream on the way out and back.
The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry.
Thank you

Went for a bit of a walk around the Keith George Memorial Park Loop. Quite a steep climb to the top but a lovely walk. A quick find on the way back down. Everything in order. TFTC

An unexpectedly quick find. Once I was within 10m I switched on my cache sense and kept a look out for a hiding place as I approached GZ. I spotted something suspicious and there was the cache. Thanks for brringing me up here.
I had gone about this trek in an anti-clockwise direction so this was my fourth and final cache on the way down. Good coordinates and a good hint led to an easy find.
Out for a walk with a group of friends. What a fantastic area of native bush, a really enjoyable wander. From memory the log was rather wet. TFTC
Found on my way up. A gnarly bit of track in some places but that just adds to the fun of it really. TFTC
A fairly straightforward find by the last of 3 possible hint objects which was also the mightiest one.
This is such a great loop around the KGM Park. We had previously done some of the track, but then more caches appeared so it was back for a return visit. Just great how you can be so close to suburbia, but this gem exists. Thanks for the caches here!
Long way to the beach from here, fortunately the beech, and cache were close by, TFTC
I've been promising a return visit to this area for a while now. Today the opportunity presented. Nice weather and autumn colours, and very dry under foot. Made the track easier going than what it would be in the wet.
After a visit to a few earlier caches and a bit more climbing we came upon this one.
A straightforward find on the cache ensued.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

#7625. A good climb to explore more of Moonshine Valley that we had not been to before. The tracks were all quiet at this time. We had the old coordinates loaded, and so made a little search for the cache. Found 27 metres away. Did not pick up the coordinates updates, which would have been much closer at 7 metres. The GPS was bouncing quite a bit though. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Found with TregearP and BiddieRoberts (BRIK) on the KGM loop on a sunny Sunday morning.
A quick find and all in good order. TNLNSL, TFTC.

Thanks agcnz. I really struggled with the forestry cover at this cache.

Decided to go for a walk in the hills again this afternoon and get most of the remaining caches I need to find here. Stopped at the listed coordinates and looked around but nothing found. Checked hint objects downhill from there and found it, as did jojo&dobby, about 20 metres away. Fortunately it's an easy hide to spot. Signed log, TFTC and I have included some averaged coordinates taken with a Garmin 64s at the cache location.
** FTF **
Wahoo! This wasn't in the plan when I left after lunch for a walk in the hills, but discovering some recent publications within a few hundred metres of exactly where I was meant it was very well worth having a crack at them.
Coordinates were out, but the description was specific enough that the cache was a quick and easy find.
Felt very lucky today to already have been in the vicinity. Lovely walking in these hills, and nice to be up here in the summer when it's dry because I know how wet and slippery it gets during winter.

Good grief, we walked right past this today but hadn't seen the new listing. Our latest pocket query was downloaded on the 23rd. Hahaha just as well we don't chase FTFs.
