This was our second to last cache for our night-caching adventure around Awhitu on a gorgeous clear night! Nice easy find here. The campsite was a great place to stop and admire the stars
Day 1 of 4 staying over Easter weekend, and found 6 caches this afternoon. With miniAG. Wet log by the way.

My phone was stepping down the meters to the cache on toggle talking, but still I managed to drive past the hide 20m! Don't know what the story is here with the cache. LH side if you're coming from the main camp entrance gates, yes, it's still in the middle of the cattle stop but cable tied now, seems to be different from the description. Either way, I found it and made dam sure my phone stayed on the ground well away from the cattle stop. I had no pockets and I did not want to imagine the scenario where the phone fell out of my hand while signing the log and landed inside the cattle stop... that would have been disaster! Thanks again for the hide Aaron.
A nice easy find as we explored the park. Just to note the log was completely wrecked (a wet screwed up ball). We left it in its bag at the bottom of the container then added a new log and bag. TFTC.
Beautiful day here. Loving exploring the park. Its been a few years since I had been here & only grabbed a few caches so good to grab some more. Tftc
This one had me hunting for a while, after exhausting all possibilities on one side, widened my search to the other side and cache soon in hand. TFTC
Tried in the evening but had to come back in better light to find the “right” side
No luck today.
Too many campers in view for a decent search.

B4Dawn and I had made plans to adventure in the general Awhitu area to walk and clear out some caches but then the rain set in....ah we don't mind that lets go anyway...just pack the waterproof clothes and jackets!! There were periods it was quite clear and others with really bad wind and rain that made us question what the hell we were doing out but as always it was an adventure and of course some smiley faces to be had.
Went to take the shortcut through but saw a herdful of cows so decided to take the longer path (we were soaked through and enjoying the walk so a bit more exploring wouldn't be a problem).
Soon got to the cattle stop...I initially went to the wrong side of the track but corrected myself. B4Dawn was a bit concerned when I said we would need to be on the stop itself as he thought I might roll and ankle but with more caches to find we just had to make sure we were ok because we couldn't afford the downtime of a rolled ankle .
Soon had the log in hand, signed, returned and we were on our way.
Thanks for the cache.

Spent an excellent day with Keylev. Super wet day, soggy hiking boots but a boat load of caches to show for it!
I didn't want to stand on the cattle stop but I guess we had to. Keylev found this quickly.

Out on a geocaching trip. Staying at Awhitu Regional Park. Had a DNF on the way out, lunky on the way back. Thanks for hiding Stik-a-crane
Chest height yes but nothing to do with hook or loops and no idea what attach to bottom not top means there's no option.
I suspect its been replaced since description was written
Good cache lots of looking and was technically on our left so very hard to get
Water side is more descriptive in my opinion.
Tftc good luck all

Today was the day Team G0LD (Geocachers 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ) finally got to collect the crayola puzzles. As Pete said we'd planned this trip ages ago but covid-19 got in the way.
I left my sons in Whangarei at 5am and got back home to Paihia at 11pm. It was a long day but I really enjoyed it. We found all the crayola series, a few trads near them, a few other solved puzzles. In the middle of the series we headed up to Awhitu Regional park to get a cache that required low tide. Along the way we even managed two FTF's giving us a total of just over 100 for the day.
This was another cache we collected on the loop while we waited for the tide to drop. Right or left depends on if you're walking up or down hill but it was a quick easy find here. These cattle stops are a great idea. I'm not a fan of gate opening especially as some of them end up drooping on the farm and require a mighty heave ho. Thanks for the caches around this reserve

Off on a mission today with Team G0LD ( Geocachers 0B8, Lis & Daffy ) to finally do the Crayola 64 series. The puzzles had been solved ages ago, but due to two Covid forced delays, it was only now we could coordinate schedules and head south from Whangarei to make the finds.
Part way through the 64 series, we decided to make a dash for Awhitu, to collect as many of the trads and bonus puzzles up here as possible. The tide was also supposed to be low around 2:30 and we should also be able to walk out to the island too. However, when we arrived there was still 100 metres of water surrounding the island, so we decided on doing the park walk first.
A nice quick find here on our walk on the right side, not the right side..!!. TFTC

Out with Team Gold (Liz Crew and 0B80B8) picking up as many caches as possible in the South Auckland area. After picking up a bunch of Crayola puzzle caches we decided to head up South Head and collect the series at Awhiti. Once we started looking on the right of the road we soon located. TFTC
Doing my bit to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Keep well, Keep safe.
See you on the other side.

The two youngest davidsonclan children and dad have come camping for the night at Awhitu what a lovely spot quiet exploring the tracks now.Tftc quick find this morning.
Last cache for the day, back to the campsite for lunch finish packing up and heading home.
Morning walk with Mr&Mrs Rosmar (joined by FMZ at this cache).
Mr Rosmar looked on 1 right, Mrs Rosmar and I looked on the other... no cache to be had.
After sometime Mrs Rosmar looked on Mr Rosmars right and quickly found the cache.
We made the prudent move off the cattle stop before openning the cache, din'[t like the idea of being on hands and knees trying to retrieve from between the bars. TFTC

Located this one on the walks around the Leap Year Campout Event. Enjoyable walk with FMG & Helephant, no problem with the find TFTC.
Not quite where the co-ordinates put it and not sure about the clue but found after a short search. TFTC.
We had a dnf 2 1/2 years ago when the cache was first published and this is our first visit back to the area since. We were heading to the Leap Day event nearby and stopped to turn our frown upside down. We made the mistake of looking at GL as a previous finder suggested but it turns out the cache has been returned to a giant's chest height
Found it on the way to Awhitu geocaching event. i had DNF here before .... Found with a little help. TFTC
Phone had us on the wrong side but our Thailand cachers spotted this sneaky hide. Thanks for the hide with rustynz
Great to grab a few caches in the park on the way to the leap year event. Grabbed this one with other local cachers. Thanks CO for the cache.
We were heading to the Leap year event at Awhitu and had to walk passed this one. Previously we were unable to locate this one, and we were having trouble again today until we raised our eyes UP and spotted the well camo'd and tethered cache. Nice to turn this into a smilie.
Mr HeMaLuDy, Darthcaher1 and Purply came to the pack today to attend a nearby event. We met the CO of this cache in the carpark and we walked into the event together. 2 and a 1/2 years ago we got most of the FTF's for the other caches in the pack. However we couldn't find this one. On our way to the event we passed this location so stopped to get this cache. An easy find this time around as we knew it had been moved from it's original location all those years ago. TFTC
Had a fun weekend camping out down here at Awhitu and took the opportunity to rack up some Feb 29 finds with a bunch of nice cache hides around the regional park, some with small groups from the campout and others by myself while riding around the park on my eBike. Great weather and great company, including the CO for a short while also. TFTC!!!

Whilst we searched on the right side? ok whose right? followed the phone to here, and in the meantime gely57 had already caught us up, we drove, they walked from the last cache.
It was mrs gely57 who was on the opposite side, and called out she had found it! music to my ears
Again thanks for the hide Stik-a-crane

We drove past this one earlier on the way into the park and one of my passengers mentioned where it was. I made a point to come back a little bit later and pick this up while I was walking around getting some other caches, TFTC
Found with IuryBR and Line_Moh during the Leap Year 2020 camp event in Auckland. The bridge was quite scary to walk on as I was heading towards the cache, didn't want to break my ankles!
Found this one during the event Leap Year Campout 2020 Auckland - GC8HQ7K, I found this one after looking on both rights one was the real right, right? Hehehe

One part of AV has been camping near this cache for the last week. As the cache was found with a new hint, she went back & found it today. CO may want to still check on it or update cache page as required. TFTC
Found it, but likely the old cache that that went MIA in 2018. Have signed that log and contacted CO as the hiding spot did not match the hint. Replaced as per following hint: Chest height, wedged, number 3.
No luck here. Looked everywhere but couldnt figure out any of the hints. There has been some recently chopped down trees but couldnt spot the cache.
New hide has been created, along with a hew hint to reflect the hide.
Happy hunting.
Happy hunting.
Hi Stik-a-crane
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.
Regards

We're camping near this cache over Auckland Anniversary Weekend. Quick find here, though no sign of a clue to the final? Thanks!
