A DNF here 5yrs ago so back today to avenge the blue face. Same frustrations as last time & still couldnt find it. Read back over some logs & went more off-piste to finally find it. Nice to turn the blue frown to a yellow smiley. [TFTC]
Found but did not sign as long was soaked. Beautiful spot though tftc
Again our Denver connection helped and found it! Log is very we did not sign but left a trinket!!
Day 2 of 4 staying over Easter weekend, and found 6 caches this morning. With miniAG. TFTC. Again like previous posts, the GPS bounced around a bit. Read a previous log for a hint and found quickly after that.

Took my wife as an extra pair of eyes, and she spotted it just off the path
Lovely new log paper but again very wet. Can't believe it's just there and you don't see it... Until you do!
A bit tricky as I looked on wrong side of track at first.Luckily Supernannny helped out here
Staying here for the weekend in the Self contained carpark.
Headed out this morning to grab alot of caches before Lunch. The previous finders don't seem to be signing these logs !? TFTC

Took a little to grind this one. GPS was about 5-6m off on this, perhaps because of tree cover. Found with Reny90
Out this way today doing maintenance.....all is good here, added new log sheets....
Happy caching....

This rather for a low chest and the log is completely soaked. Thanks for the cache.
found it! coordinates are a little off so used the help from activity log
Ew wetness!! Log definitely need replacing as it’s got lots of moisture. Thanks to the activity log we could find this one as the GPS was off. Kids easily located once we were in the right area. We love this park but had unrealistic expectations of how many we would find today some proved trickier!
Thanks to looking at previous logs we moved to the other side of the path to where co-ordinates were indicating. After a widened search buzzybb spotted it. Tftc
We were hunting high and low on one side where the co-ordinates were pointing us to, with no luck. Read some previous logs, widened our search, and within a few minutes cache in hand. Loving this series.
No luck today.
Spent a good while here, saw some logs that may have helped but no, decided to move on.
Next time.......

Another Awhitu cache to add to our collection. Log is completely waterlogged so can’t sign
B4Dawn and I had made plans to adventure in the general Awhitu area to walk and clear out some caches but then the rain set in....ah we don't mind that lets go anyway...just pack the waterproof clothes and jackets!! There were periods it was quite clear and others with really bad wind and rain that made us question what the hell we were doing out but as always it was an adventure and of course some smiley faces to be had.
Found the split in the paths and we went around and around a couple of times as GPS was a little patchy before B4Dawn spied the container...yay.
Thanks for the cache.

Spent an excellent day with Keylev. Super wet day, soggy hiking boots but a boat load of caches to show for it!
This one was tricky as the GPS was all over the show. However found it close enough to GZ. Not exactly chest, height, though. TFTC

Today was the day Team G0LD (Geocachers 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ) finally got to collect the crayola puzzles. As Pete said we'd planned this trip ages ago but covid-19 got in the way.
I left my sons in Whangarei at 5am and got back home to Paihia at 11pm. It was a long day but I really enjoyed it. We found all the crayola series, a few trads near them, a few other solved puzzles. In the middle of the series we headed up to Awhitu Regional park to get a cache that required low tide. Along the way we even managed two FTF's giving us a total of just over 100 for the day.
This took a bit longer to hunt for than the rest as we weren't sure which side of the track to look on. It didn't take Pete too long to turn up the goods. Thanks for the caches around this reserve

Off on a mission today with Team G0LD ( Geocachers 0B8, Lis & Daffy ) to finally do the Crayola 64 series. The puzzles had been solved ages ago, but due to two Covid forced delays, it was only now we could coordinate schedules and head south from Whangarei to make the finds.
Part way through the 64 series, we decided to make a dash for Awhitu, to collect as many of the trads and bonus puzzles up here as possible. The tide was also supposed to be low around 2:30 and we should also be able to walk out to the island too. However, when we arrived there was still 100 metres of water surrounding the island, so we decided on doing the park walk first.
Took a little while to find here on our walk, in past the marker. TFTC

Out with Team Gold (Liz Crew and 0B80B8) picking up as many caches as possible in the South Auckland area. After picking up a bunch of Crayola puzzle caches we decided to head up South Head and collect the series at Awhiti. Abit of hunting by the team was required to locate this cache. My phone was a good 10m out. TFTC
Doing my bit to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Keep well, Keep safe.
See you on the other side.

The two youngest davidsonclan children and dad have come camping for the night at Awhitu what a lovely spot quiet exploring the tracks now.Tftc
After crashing the night in my car at the camp site, I was awake early and up and at it at 7am, we have a group organised at 9am sharp to get the 2 phone caches further up the coast so I'm off on my own this morning to get 3 caches before breakfast with the others.
I was on one side of the track not seeing the cache, crossed over to the other side and there it was.

Located this one on the walks around the Leap Year Campout Event. Enjoyable walk with a group of attendees, TFTC.
Great to grab a few caches in the park on the way to the leap year event. Grabbed this one with other local cachers. Thanks CO for the cache.
Another one after calling in to say hi at the Leap Year Campout 2020 event. Reading past logs helped us here. Thanks Stik-a-crane.
Had a fun weekend camping out down here at Awhitu and took the opportunity to rack up some Feb 29 finds with a bunch of nice cache hides around the regional park, some with small groups from the campout and others by myself while riding around the park on my eBike. Great weather and great company, including the CO for a short while also. TFTC!!!

A few spots of rain on the way to this cache. We found the co ordinates slightly out but with the help of a past log made the find. The rain stopped so we carried on.
We are staying at the Leap Year Campout Event
After having something to eat for lunch, I join a group who are making there way around this loop track, it will be warm and sticky.
With gely57, rosmar, alunb, helefant, looking for a couple of caches. Not sure who found this one, but with us all spread out it did not take too long.
Thanks for the hide Stik-a-crane, this time remembering to collect all the code numbers for the bonus puzzle cache at the end.
alunb log refreshed: I widened my search, in fact as far wide as the other side of the track....around 8 meters out... wonderful cache, nicely attached... look out for ZA

Found this one during the event Leap Year Campout 2020 Auckland - GC8HQ7K. I, Line_Moh and VibhaHB took this track to visit some nice spots that the series was intending to take us and finding all caches along the way will be awesome, so we would be able to find the bonus cash. It wasn't a quick finding but didn't take long as well to me to find this one, followed by VibhaHB and Line_Moh. Signed as V.I.M.A️

The title gave this one away. Found a little off the track with IuryBR and Line_Moh during the Leap Year 2020 camp event in Auckland.
Thanks to the log by TheCuriousKiwis I widened my search, in fact as far wide as the other side of the track, I read it around 8 meters out...
Wonderful cache though, nicely attached
Now I see what that ZA hint means, cheers

Never fear! The Curious Kiwis are here! The coordinates for this one are about 10m off, we will leave a hint of our own for the next finders. Direction =ZA. Cache is in great condition! Thank goodness we have another piece for the puzzle cache! TFTC
Day one of a weekend in Auckland with my wife. She loves to geocache, I keep her company.
A nice walk thanks.
JDScout had a conference in Auckland for part of the week so I met up with hem on Friday night. Hopefully we will find a few geocaches on this trip as I haven't got many left to find in Christchurch.
Thanks Stik-a-crane for placing this geocache 7648 find for me.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.

Carried on our walk searched around the gz but no luck so decided to broaden our search went around in the circle looking at different possibilities took a look up to give my eyes a break and that’s when I spotted it.
Was here again today ....after my DNF a year ago .
Really keen to find it .
Widened my search..... Went round in circles looking on both sides of track, at the same old places....
Chest height ...waist height ...
Was there over half an hour .
Finally decided to call it .... but when I started to leave; I looked in a different angle and direction and finally saw it !!!!
Thank Goodness!

Spent a long time searching for this one, came back for a second look at found it pretty quickly
Found, one of the first ones I found first while geocaching with a mate of mine. TFTC!
Me and a mate went looking for some caches and this was one we found. We searched for a few minutes but once I had worked out the rough location it he quickly spotted it first.
Find number 4694. Enjoying my walk around the park. This one had me looking for some time. Stood in the shade and read some logs. Widened the search still nothing. Decided to do a final sweep and spotted it across the path from where I had been looking. Pleased to make the find. Thank you for the placement.
A day of caching on the Awhitu Peninsula with KirsTim, vistra and yorkshirekiwi83, making our way through the trail now. Thanks for the hide.
Spent today exploring and caching around the Awhitu Peninsula, together with Vamber, KirsTim and Yorkshirekiwi83, signing the logs as KKKTTS.) Parked up then went for a good wander around the Regional Park. Looked around GZ, then read logs indicating the co-ordinates were a bit out - expanded the search and soon spotted the cache. TFTC!
After a run of dnf's and a poss dodgy find we wondered if we might miss out on this one. But we read a few logs and realised the coords were a bit off, so we spread out. Finally the 'found it' shout was heard, phew. Thanks
Out caching with KrisTim, Vamber and vistra (signed logs as KKKTTS or a variety thereof) around the Awhitu Regional Park TFTC. Not sure whose chest it was measured against but it was our waist height
