Hi there Bristag. We decided to head to Northam on a rare fine day and the GG AD series beckoned. Almost all caches were found in good condition and after our late start, we lunched at the Tavern at Spencers Brook. We found this cache at 1130am after a short search - and the container and log are in good condition. TN, LN, SL. A good days Caching - . Thanks to Bristag for this cache - our find 10948 and the 6th of 56 finds for the day.FieldNotes: The cache and Log are in good condition.
Found it. TFTC Bristag. Happy to make a find here, replaced as found. Interesting location
Kicked this cache before I realised it was what I was looking for. With sbirgert.
Out in York for a night to catch up with a mate. Picked up a few caches on the way out and way in, making some deviations to clean up a few blips on the map.
Interesting spot and a neat cache. Wouldn’t have even blinked an eye here if it wasn’t for the cache. Add fav. Cheers Bristag!

Heading out to Northam for a day of caching with Geo-mum. All is good here, thanks for the cache
On the way into Northam to collect some of the caches we missed out on yesterday, as I couldn't attend the event. No trouble here. TFTC
Mrs Crackers headed down from Geraldton by bus to attend The Magic Maker event yesterday and was very kindly chauffeured around Northam and surrounds by Di Morgan for the weekend.
We found 50 caches before attending the event at lunch time and after much fun and laughter there we headed back out and managed another 21 before heading back for pre dinner drinks
The majority where the GG AD series which were found fairly quickly right where the GPSr's were pointing.
I hadn't been to this part of WA before and really enjoyed the countryside around here.
Thanks to all the different cache owners for the hides.
out getting some caches whilst everyone is in town for the maker magic event.TFTC.
Find 12 of 61 on a super day in and around Northam. Started with a 30km bike ride looping out to Spencers Brook and back on the Kep, before the Maker Magic event and a nice luncheon. Then back out for a little loop ride around town and some impromptu FTF dashes before jumping in the car for some odd ones on the way home. Massive thanks to all the CO's but especially geotrakka and jasenjanine for placing and maintaining so many caches for our entertainment.
Interesting and an impressive hiding spot you have there.
TFTC Bristag!

It was good to be out caching in the rural countryside.
A really clever hide, FP given

In Northam for the Maker Magic event. Thanks Geotrakka for the huge effort you put in to make your event today so successful! I really enjoyed the day. Spark22 was kind enough to pick me up from the airport and drive me around for the day finding this cache plus many others
Found it. Meandering back toward York to a dreaded dentist appointment. The things you do to not think about needles.
Great cache. Gonna last forever.

Full time nomads stopping in Toodyay for a while.
A sleep in this morning and no plan of whether we were going caching or not. Physio completed, lunch packed we finally hit the road about 10.30am
On our little picnic sojourn we found your cache.

Nice stop along the road to admire a piece of history. The fuel towers were surrounded by an amazing crop of golden canola which made for an excellent photo. Great cache too. Thanks Bristag for the history lesson and for placing this cache for our enjoyment. Fav point added.
Day 1 of WAGB22 week, the plan was to go to Northam and do a few along the way including KEP Series near Clackline and the walk up the hills in Bobakine Nature Reserve. Did some GG Series but had to miss a few and some missing in the roadworks sections.
66 Finds and 4 DNF, and 1 not willing to swim in the Avon.
Thanks to all the CO’s for their hides and maintaining the series.

Ants. I quickly found the cache and noticed I was standing on an ant trail. I ran back to my car to discover that was also an ant nest. Sign the log and made a quick return. TFTC and history lesson
Up in Northam for the day and managed to pick up a few smileys here and there, TFTC Bristag!
(Catching up on some missing online logs.)
The Better Half and I went out for another drive in the country doing a loop around through York and Northam to pick up some caches that have been missed on previous trips.
Cache found without problems but the outer container had a large amount of dirt packed into it stopping the inner container being freed so did a bit of work to free it. Log signed and the cache returned to where we found it.
Thanks Bristag for placing this cache for us to find.

What better way to spend a long weekend than packing up the car and heading off on a road trip? We made plans to meander our way to Northam and camp there overnight before setting sail for home. This was one of the caches we had targeted for the day and we also had some GCA caches, Waymarks and Adventure Labs on the radar. Cheers and TFTC.
G’day there Bristag, I was in this area today and found your cache No 10 IAFD GC6AA88. I added my name to the log book at 9:37 am on 28 February 2021. A huge thanks to you for placing this cache here for us (and others) to find!

Cool container! Without "this is an official geocache" text I wouldn't open it. Tftc!
Thanks for showing us this interesting piece of Northam history. It is again one of those time if it wasn’t for geocaching I wouldn’t have known. A great cache hide as well although the ant# weren’t friendly
Easy find but opening required the tool box from the car.
Watch the ants in the area as during the opening of the cache a few ants decided the my legs were a good target.
Great photo spot.

Easy find but I didn't think I would be able to get the lid off as it was so tight. All logged and ready for my next cache. TFTC
Very hard to open, got some help and managed to set it free.
Staying in Northam after a weekend of camping at Elachbutting and Kwolyin. Collecting some smileys before heading home. Armed with Megam01 who is much more nimble and capable of acrobatic moves - youth on her side. Thanks to all the COs for placing the caches for us to enjoy.

Amazing place! However we could not open the cache! But we are out taking the wheely bin on a toad trip in line with the isolation bin outings trending in social media- so here’s a pic of our wheely bin here! Tftc
found this on a grt day caching and shopping in Northam back on 04/11/2017
Whilst telling another cacher about it, discovered I hadn't logged it.
Was an easy find, tho it sure absorbed the day's heat..
TFTC Bristag.. we have made contact earlier, and have enjoyed your caches

AVTUR, will travel. AVGAS will reciprocate. Thats fly-talk for AVTUR, aviation turbine (jet) fuel and AVGAS, aviation gasoline for piston-engined aircraft. Loved the connection. Brilliant container.
After a rather unpleasant experience at the caches we tried for this morning, it was far more enjoyable to come and find this one along the river. Very interesting location, one I certainly would never have learned about without geocaching bringing me to this spot. From here we trundled along from one cache to the next, following our noses, sniffing out smileys. We met up with another caching team for a few joint finds around York before grabbing pub lunch and doing then worked our way back towards Northam for the end of the race and closing of the event. Congrats to all the winners - sounds like they had fun, but then again, so did we. Great day all the way around. Thanks for adding to the adventure Bristag.
Thank you! In the area for WAGB, and out with papillon367 to find a few caches, and headed to this one with Everlasting and atCatpacity. Happy to make the find here. And thanks for bringing me to this interesting spot.
So out on another Geocaching weekender with Spatial Riq, this time off to the Northam for the 2019 WAGB. Great weekend picking up nearly 70 Caches over the two days. A great variety in the area....
No probs here

Megawat60 made the find here, a great cache in such an interesting spot. Thanks for all the information too, Bristag, a FP!
It sites like this that make geocaching worthwhile, would never have stopped here otherwise and learnt a little of the history surrounding these tanks. TFTC
WAGB19 weekend! Had driven out to Northam this morning and after checking out the event location & registering, I then headed out for a drive picking up some caches between Northam and York, with some time then spent in York itself. Was a lovely day weather-wise and caching-wise This was one of the caches I stopped off at. I would indeed have not paid these structures any notice if it wasn't for the cache page - and then I would have missed the fascinating history here! Cache itself was a very quick find, although I had to take it back to the car to get that themed lid off! Tricky, lol. All good here, thanks for pointing the site out to me & TFTC
It's WA Goes Big day!
Out on an early morning geocaching run with the machman.
Quick find here after a brief walk. Getting the lid off was a bit of an effort but the strainer post came in handy for that TFTC

Heading off the finish off the FOTT series and gathering a few on the way with familysteiner and deefa71. So lucky today we have beautiful sunny day tftc
Was on my way to the Northam event and took the scenic route and stopped by here to grab this cache and learn about the military history here. I have done a lot of studies of the Golden pipeline and ran a coach tour through here some years ago but now you have helped me complete the history of these tanks and this site. Thanks for bringing me here and thanks for the cache Bristag and sharing this history and story. The cache was very clever and lucky the star picket was handy to open it.
We tried to open but couldn't. So we googled how to open an avgas drum... Awesome cache! This cache was on fire!!!
Decided to head to Northam to pick up a few caches and a few more caches along the way. I think it rained the whole time I was out today but I still managed to get most of the caches I was looking for and only had 2 DNFS. Thanks to all the CO,S for placing these caches
I hope the CO will allow me to log this find as I didn't sign the log book. For the life of me I couldn't get the container open to sign the logbook. Decided to use a tool in the car but ended up slicing my finger open and I actually thought I might need stitches. I do have a photo of the container if the CO wants it as proof

Aaagh!! What a day!! It started out with technology problems and electrical problems, both of which took quite a while to sort out. So it was late morning before we set off into Northam to buy some necessary items to do a few repairs. It was also very hot today, being 43 degrees and the enthusiasm for caching and being out on the sun really was not there.
So we just put a token list together, with ilook4geo and settled for those caches.
This one was an easy find, but was literally too hot to handle, so was taken back to the car to be opend and signed.
Thank you to Bristag for placing this cache and telling us about another point of interest.

Not much caching happened today as it is too hot, so just did a few. Found what we looked for with goingplaces2 and both names were soon on the log before we retreated to the air con in the car. TFTC.
Out and about on a glorious day.. A little worried about snakes but luckily the coast was clear.. Found by geohubby . Log signed..thanks for bringing us here
found while on a nice arvo drive a quick search and soon had tge cache signed log and replaced tftc
A day out around Northam to claim some more smilies, happy to say we came up trumps here today, what an amazing bit of history here TFTC
We stood on top of GZ reminiscing about PP1s career working in the RAF with Aviation fuels. Then he wandered off looking for the cache & I pondered what was at my feet. Lovely camo. Worth a favourite. TFTC Bristag
Thanks for bringing us to this interesting site. Nice camo! Took us a minute to realize we had it in hand. Picked up a TB to move along. LNSL. TFTC.
I had a spare day to myself and decided that I would spend it taking in the sights of Northam and surrounding areas. The weather was really hot, but the heat was punctuated with periods of heavy downpours which cooled things down quite nicely, for a moment at least. A great variety of caches were found today, totalling 19. Wow, that was something different! The grass was quite long and the rain started to belt down so it took me a few moments to identify the hide, but then I took it back to my car to ensure it remained dry while I opened it up and signed the log. Dropped a TB. TFTC Bristag
Thank you Bristag for bringing us to this fascinating place.
We had no idea that this existed let alone that there are others like it around the southwest. A fave for the information and the fitting cache.

After reading the hint I was thinking I'd find a giant snail. Instead I found a clever cache. TFTC.
