9 November 2024 19:42 dalerious and I were in town and whilst we sat outside our favourite pizza shop enjoying an awesome Marinara pizza with Anchovies, I opened up the app to see what I could solve whilst chowing down.I had looked at this puzzle in the early days and of course didn't know what to do.Experience solving puzzles over the years has sharpened the eye and wirh the information supplied, it was just a matter of following my nose.I did however miss a couple of important pieces of information which gave me an incorrect set of numbers. Note to self: read all the info on the page properly. Thank you Team BGF, your stash was found in pretty good condition. The innards were in great condition but the themed outer container is showing it's age; just like the rest of us!A favourite point given

16-Feb-24
Puzzle solved last night when I was failing at falling asleep. Not too difficult to work out what to do to solve it, but bit of a mind-bender to do the actual work. Cache then found this morning, cache in good condition; only issue was a group of grumpy-looking kangaroos protecting the path, but only a minor delay, and no fight.

Hunting treasure today with jackez74 we followed the map to the where the prize was well hidden the treasure chest was intact and still full of treasure. Replaced as found TFTC

The condition of the area is certainly different from what we experienced last November while doing a night cache. Back then we practically needed scuba gear, today its nice and dry and fairly easy to navigate to GZ.

Reaching GZ, we were rewarded with a good looking stash. The treasure was gawked at, the logbook signed, and case is now closed.

Thank you Team BGF for a great puzzle and hide.

16-Jan-22
Found while attending the 2022 Mega event at Wangaratta.

I drove across from Adelaide with Freddo. We took a week to get there and back as we meandered our way around northern Victoria, camping mostly along the river and generally avoiding contact with other people as far as possible to minimise covid risks.

While at the Mega we teamed up with gridge98 & Co. Most logs were signed FEGC (ie Freddo, e.gregory1 and gridge98 & Co).

We targeted some specific caches of interest, but also took the opportunity to find other random caches opportunistically as we were passing. Most of the puzzle caches were solved prior to leaving Adelaide in preparation for the trip.

Although we managed to find a lot of caches over the weekend, we really only barely scratched the surface, leaving plenty of excuses to return to the area another time. I'm sure I'll be back.

Thanks Team BGF for the puzzle and the cache.

And just like that, almost as soon as the long-awaited Wangaratta Event had begun, it was over. Which, given that I was only able to get here this morning, is true, I guess.

While enjoying dinner with landau351 at the RSL (I thoroughly recommend the open burger), locus cache and I discussed which hides we should tackle after dark. She suggested a night cache she's already completed, and suggested I also work on solving this puzzle.

I got the smiley while the others were polishing off their coffee and dessert.

And I can see why I was nudged in this direction. The puzzle was a fun one, and we passed near enough here while following a trail of firetacks that I could take a detour and discover this impressive booty.

Thanks, Team BGF. My second (!) and final smiley on a physical cache for the day, in a total of 46.

Found on mega weekend. One of a bunch of caches found and logged.

e.Gregory1 and Freddo decided to travel to Wangaratta for Geocaching Victoria’s first 2022 Mega event. The attraction of GeoMaze icon was just too tempting. We packed the Land Cruiser for a bubble environment. There would be some public exposure but we would be keeping it minimal. Fortunately we did not bother with any warm clothes. Fortunately we packed some Bushmans with +20% DEET. There were caches to find and we found caches. We saw a lot of interesting places and met the occasional geocacher or two in the field.

I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.

This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

A nice quick find here today cache and contents are all good

After heading to tassie for almost 3 weeks, we detoured to Wangaratta for the Victorian Mega to catch up with some friends that we hadn’t seen for months if not years. We caught up with Freddo and e.gregory1 for the duration of the weekend, travelling around the local areas finding many of the caches that were on offer. To save room in the log books we signed as FEG or FEGC.
A wonderful area and nice to have a look around in somewhere I had only visited for 20mins before.

Thanks for the cache

**The Adventure:** After a Mega Mega-day yesterday, we targeted some caches that were sitting in the solved pile from the Zoom sessions last year. I think the retrieval for the actual cache was harder than the solve due to the longer grass, the spongy field and the heat! What we do to write our names on a piece of paper! All in good fun, though.

Thanks Team BGF for creating the puzzle, and placing this fun hide. Cache on

**TNLNSL** Hand sanitiser was used before and after accessing the cache.

# 7717 Day 3 of our Wangaratta Mega trip. Sunny and hot summer conditions. Lots of great caches, events and people. Today we're heading back home at midday, so a few caches before heading back.
I was a bit worried we'd be up for a tree climb, but no such problems here. Solved this one with the puzzle group a while ago.
Tks Team BGF

16-Jan-22
I’m in the money… after trudging through mud in thongs. “We’re just doing one at the cemetery“, they said!

16-Jan-22
It's the end of the Mega weekend and I think I have run out of steam! This was a little hike in the heat but recently heavy rains made the navigation to GZ very tricky indeed. Pathways were abandoned on the way back in favour of a more direct route. Good to chalk up a puzzle find this weekend.

16-Jan-22
For a geocacher I'm particularly bad at directions ‍and even though I understood the puzzle quite quickly I still need to rotate maps to read them and in my twisting and turning some of the numbers became twisted and the solution evaded me! Had a break, came back checked all my calculations - and there it was, the sneaky upside-down number!
Today we were passing by GZ, and although it wasn't the easiest place to navigate to, we thought we'd give it a go. 33 degrees today and yet the rain from the day before remained in huge puddles on the ground - eventually we got to GZ and we were truly rewarded with an abundance of treasure . Thanks Team BGF, this was a lot of fun

16-Jan-22
Finally... a Mega we can attend! So Spiffy- and I headed off to Wangaratta. A plethora of caches to choose from so we targeted a few, but really just happy to get out and about. Cache in good condition. But the paths flooded on the approach so luckily we had an electric scooter and could access from the other side which was much longer.

Thanks to Team BGF for the placement and fun.

16-Jan-22
Found at 10:52 am.
Well, the Mega time has come and we aren't locked down so today was the day to get 14 different types of cache. Today was our final day to find a couple of local caches and then start heading home with a fair few stops along the way.
Glad I jumped on the scooter here. Cruised around the track and everywhere was flooded so had to make a detour way up the other end and back so ended up doing a couple of kilometres to get to this one. Saved a lot of time at 25km/hr instead of 5. Nice cache at the end too.
Thanks Team BGF for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

26,763. Found with minniek along with a lot more attendees of The Wangaratta (Mega) Event. I was honoured with winning the Official First To Find for the Mega Event - something I will treasure forever.

minniek and I have really been looking forward to The Wangaratta Event. The Victorian Mega Events have been so well run over the years, and with the 2021 (2022) version of the series being held around Wangaratta we knew it was going to be a fun fun event. Day 2 of our trip dawned much too early, but we were soon up and caffeinated and after the early event we started our days caching. This one was next on the list, and we made a nice quick find once at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then we headed off to the next one.

Thanks Team BGF !!

15-Jan-22
Found whilst in town for the Mega event, awesome weekend Smashing out some smiles on the map.
After we did our bit to clean up during the CITO event we went on the hunt for this treasure, cheers for the cache and wet feet.

15-Jan-22
With the Mega event being held in Wangaratta, The Rats, Hoojar, Wilbert67 and I headed south for the main event but also plenty of other local hides.

We tackled trails around Glenrowan on Friday, together with Beechworth and the HSS Series before spending time around Wangaratta on the Saturday. TFTC!

15-Jan-22
Headed south with my caching mates, steeba, Hoojar and Wilbert to attend the on, off, on again COVID restricted Wangaratta Mega event...... credit to the organisers for persisting.

With us having limited time in the area, we tried to pack as much as we could into each day. From Glenrowan, to Beechworth, to Mrytleford, to Warby Ovens NP, to the streets of Wangaratta, we seemed to be on the go all the time. While the weather was too hot for caching at times we often found relief by cooling off in the river.
We found so many different types of caches, its a credit to all the CO's for providing the caches for everyone to find, whether they were new or old placements, we had a great time in Wang.

It was mega Saturday and this cache was part of my 12 types in a day. Perfect time while the CITO was on.

It’s MEGA Road Trip time!! A plan is hatched and we are good to go.
DAY TWO: Wangaratta - 14 types.
Something wasn’t right until I noticed which way was up!
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, Team BGF ??

15-Jan-22
It’s hard to believe we are all finally at the MEGA. It’s been a mammoth effort by the organizers to get us all to today so Thank you! With so many things available to do today the main target is to aim for as many different cache types as possible, while exploring.

I had solved this cache earlier in the week given it’s proximity to the CITO. Initially coming up with some unusual numbers I soon realised I had misinterpreted a key element of this puzzle. With it flipped on its head I soon had the coordinates.

When solving it I had no idea that getting to GZ would be such an arduous process. So many water crossings and flooded areas. The area was absolutely crawling with mosquitoes who were eating everyone alive even through clothing! After what felt like forever we eventually made it to GZ for the quick find and so began the return journey.

Thanks Team BGF for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

15-Jan-22
Found by The Empire + H and the amazing caching crew!
Staying in nearby Corowa, we arrived on Friday and drove in each day. Assembling at the mega site then heading out in convoy with the crew to meet up with cachers all over town, we had plenty of laughs in the sticky, humid weather. I climbed heaps of trees - some with the help of trusty ladder, and got eaten alive by mozzies! Thanks for the cache Team BGF, and the whole Geocaching community in Wangaratta and the surrounding towns for putting on a great mega!

A long-awaited trip with fitzy_1965 to Wangaratta for the 2021/2022 Mega!

Day 2 saw us up early to head off to the event and catch up with people we haven’t seen for a long while. The Maze and the on-site Labs were our priority before setting out. We then teamed up with albida33 for the day and ended up getting 12 different types without really trying. Back to camp at about 5pm to get ready for the dinner event. The shower block was a welcome sight! Dinner was great and again a great way to be able to sit and chat with people. Thankfully our tent dried during the day so back to sleeping in comfort tonight.

Thanks to all CO’s for their cache placement and maintenance.

15-Jan-22
The lure of a couple of extra icons (Maze and Locationless) meant that I was more keen than normal to attend a Mega Event. Covid issues asside, a plan was hatched, rehatched, changed and finalised to attend for a few days in Victoria with Steeba, Wilbert67 and The Rats. Another trip away like countless others that we have done before, and yet totally different, thanks to Covid.

The caches were excellent. The company, as always, fantastic. We find more than our fair share of Adventure Labs, as well as complting a few series. I think we walked away with 300 finds, not a bad haul. The laughs were endless, but that is to be expected on trips away like this.

Thanks so much to all of the cache hiders, and especially to the event organisers. I cannot imagine the hoops that you had to keep jumping through to get this off the ground. A special thank you for bringing the Maze Down Under!

Please forgive the boiler-plate log, I assure you it is no reflection on the caching experience of our few days away. Again thank you to all cache owners for their hides.

Cheers

In town for the Mega. Today our target was scattered caches throughout the town and attend events and catch up with a few people we hadn't seen for a while owing to Covid. Made this find on a warm, humid day surrounded by squadrons of mozzies Wink Good company, many laughs had and memories made. Cool

Thanks for the cache Team BGF. Appreciate your efforts. Big Grin

Still catching up on logs, sorry about that. This was nearly not found as we had attended the CITO and the mosquitoes had already tried to carry us away. Decided there was nowhere else they could bite (wrong) so we took the stroll and found the cache. Thanks for placing it for us to find.

15-Jan-22
Managed to locate this cache after attending the CITO. Glad that it didn't take long to locate as the mosquitoes were thick and large. Thanks for the cache.

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird, Liz and Bruce. Another great day for caching. ?? TFTC Team BGF

Suscoe continued our early morning journey.
Arrived at GZ and found an interesting cache.
Thanks so much to Team BGF for this cache, it was pretty soggy here this morning.

15-Jan-22
In Wangaratta for the Mega, and after the Cito, we headed off for yet another puzzle.
Cache found after a short search, and in good condition. Signed and replaced.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Team BGF, for us and others to find.

15-Jan-22
TFTC. We had this puzzle solved some time ago as we often spend time in the area as we travel north and south. Today after being at the CITO site we headed to the calculated GZ to quickly find the treasure.

15-Jan-22
We are attending the Wang Mega, no surprise there. Late start as we are heading further North on Monday, just booking in and caches around town today. We do have a few puzzles solved fortunately but lots not solved. I wondered by the T3 until I found all the drains! TFTC.

15-Jan-22
In Wangaratta for the mega we picked up a variety of caches today while enjoying looking around the town. We crossed lots of little waterways and unmade tracks to finally arrive at gz. The mosquitoes were extremely friendly and the kangaroos were a bit confused to see so many people around.
Our thanks for your cache and for the fun adventure we had getting to it.

15-Jan-22
Big day today! All things mega and lots of different icons to log. Spend most of the day in and around Wangaratta and had lots of fun!

Collected this one after attending nearby CITO. Thanks

After organizing some time off to allow us to attend the Wangaratta Mega we are in town for an extended period.
Looking forward attending the various activities organized during the Mega period as well as finding a variety of different caches during our time here while catching up with caching friends we have met over the years.
The weather has been hot for us Gippslanders, but very humid as well.
Our thanks to the Mega committee for the enormous amount of effort that has gone into organizing the event and to the local cachers for their placements

I was in town for a week to attend the Mega event, I had a great time catching up with friends and caching around the area, we had lots of laughs and fun along the way.

This is one of the caches found during the week. This one has been in the solved pile for some time, today I did the walk having to jump over sever drains full of water.

Thanks Team BGF for the cache.

In town for the Mega, so this was one of the caches I had solved and now was time to pick it up.

Some interesting history and a nice walk before it got too hot.

Thanks Team BGF for placing the cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy the find.

Watawieh from Norfolk Island ???? South Pacific.

I have joined forces with TeamAstro to attend the Wangaratta Mega. Prior to my visit I spent a few days & nights solving some puzzles. Today I was able to make the find and sign the log.

One of many caches found during the week of the 2021 Wangaratta Mega. Thanks to all Cache Owners for their contribution to our recreational activity!

Found while completing part of a nearby night cache. An interesting puzzle that took a bit of thinking. TFTC!

It was terrific to attend the Wangaratta Mega. The weather was fabulous. The caches were top quality. The area was very interesting an it was lovely to meet up with other cachers. This cache contributed to my mega experience. Thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this cache.

Wangaratta Mega trip Day 1. It has taken quite some time to get this trip going so it is a great feeling to be on the road for a great weekend away with great caching with friends and new friends. Today I drove from Canberra to Wangaratta in time to join a group doing the first CSI cache. An amazing experience with several complicated steps. I am sure the rest of the weekend will be as much fun !

While we were on the reflector walk for the CSI cache, we took a short detour to visit this cache. All in all a bit lucky not to be carried away by the mozzies.

Thanks for the cache Team BGF

Down in Victoria for the long awaited (and necessarily postponed) Wangaratta MEGA, and a little holiday chasing the usual (oldies, counties and windmills). Just for something different we are adding to the hit list and the graves of the regionally buried dead premiers. Lol the things we will do for a cache! Joined up tonight with some extras from the canberra crew, and some fellow cachers from further afield to tackle one of the local epic multi location puzzles! Always great when we can cache together. Grabbed this one whilst we were out and about. Thanks for the cache.

While going for a stroll in the area we noticed this solved puzzle nearby so made a short detour to go and gind the treasure

I enjoyed this puzzle. It was within my capabilities, and was solved some time back.
Today, I decided to take my scooter as it was a warm day. All went well until I came to a flooded part and had to drag the scoot through the mud. Once past that section, everything went smoothly, and the log was signed.
Thanks for this experience Team BGF, a favourite point coming your way.

Found with a group from mostly Canberra looking for a cache tonight. Part of our roadtrip to Wangaratta to attend the Mega. Thanks for your hide here Team BGF

Picked up as part of a group. Solved before coming down for the mega. The puzzle was a bit challenging.

Day 2 of our Mega trip with Kittykatch, Grimraider, barb2e and Isopeda. So excited to have some time off and go on a caching holiday. Signing as Capital Crunchers.

Thanks For getting me out and about Team BGF

Found at 11:12 AM GAFF1 in the company of maccamob.
A bit of a cross country walk to get to the cache - this area would have been great on a bike - nice and flat!
Well we didn't' find any significant treasure, but found enough gold covered cache container to give us a bit of a lift!
Thanks Team BGF.

12-Jan-22
Found by Mary and David, in company with pprass, at 11:15. Solved this a while back. A reasonable walk across the burnt grass area to GZ. The ground was pretty dry despite the recent rain. Found ok after a brief search. Our thanks to Team BGF.

This treasure has been in the solved pile way too long, so on a day trip to Wang we decided to collect our prize ... the CO was right about not wearing your best shoes after rain, found ourselves constructing makeshift bridges on our journey to GZ ... the treasure was spotted and the log signed, TFTC Team BGF

In the "hood" on a multi mission of sorts and enroute to the NE via Wang after a stint in 'carers role' with dear 'ol mum who vicariously enjoys this mad geocaching pastime. Apart from needing a wee wander stop and drivers rest, a chance to explore a soggy but never before part of Wang in search of treasure is the fabled lure. I settled for the cache of course! TFTC and the FUN

We enjoyed solving the easy puzzle.

After dropping the kids off at school this morning l had a few chores to do while l was in town, you know the usual things, wander around Bunnings, go for a walk and grab a cache and finish off with a coffee up the street while soaking in some late Autumn sunshine before heading for home. Just the usual... this one l had solved a while back but for some reason had never collected it must have been from a while ago because l have had a wander out these woods before grabbing a few smilies and must of passed this particular gz in my travels. Today though being nice and chilly with a even stronger brisker wind l had the area to myself and after a easy enough ramble l soon came across the shiny lost treasure and added my name to the log book, thanks Team BGF for the challenging little story and also the good sized hide.

Had this one sitting in the silver pile ready for non-snake season. Had fun solving it. Bit tricky, interesting but not too hard. Perfect. TFTC.

Nothing beats a “likely” tale...or is that how urban myths start?! And that coupled with a treasure hunt for an impressive cache is always fun. Found while touring around Wang with friends. TFTC Team BGF, we have enjoyed quite a few of yours over the past few days.

Today there was only a slight verbal plan, so it was all okay to detour Smile We decided on a walk next to pick up some trads, a puzzle and a multi. Thanks for placing the cache Team BGF.

11-Aug-20
This one had some natural treasures as well today, other than being watched by over 30 roos, We found what we thought was a novelty cache, but no, turns out it was a real echidna perched in the fork of a tree, must of been trying to get above the swampy water.
The cache was fairly in the open, but hidden from anyone travelling nearby, didn't want to disturb the echidna again so we left it where we found it.
Cache is still in great condition, we snuck off with our loot, thanks

24-Jul-20
Had this solveda while back but just today decided to grab it, I remember doing a school cross country run through here many years ago and there was just as much water around then as now. Got very wet, then. Today was more careful.
Thanks
Picked up a TB as well

An enjoyable puzzle to solve back at camp last night Smile
So this morning I had me sights set on gold Razz

Parking by the main drag,
I wandered into the area Smile
Oooh !! It's a bit waterlogged after the rains yesterday [:o]
But I've got me hiking boots on so I should be OK Smile

Except for all the drainage ditches running around the place !!
They caused several detours to find crossing places.
Yet slowly, but surely I made me way across the swamp to GZ Smile

There the gold was easy to find Big Grin
Mwaaahhhaaahhaaa !!
Mine all mine [:o)]

TFTC Big Grin

I thought I had found a quicker way back to the geomobile now I was here ...
... it wasn't !! Red Face

Blame mystery at the museum for logs via the app while on the road!

15-Jun-19
Took awhile to work out the best approach but eventually we decided on a route that seemed to be as good as any. Fortunately today we were able to locate the missing treasure with anikano but decided it was a safe place to leave for the next finder Wink signed the logbook and headed back to the car which by now the rain was starting to be annoying!
Thanks Team BGF for another well themed puzzle.

Well themed cache in a new area for us to explore. Thank you for the puzzle and cache

Having had quite the forray with Mr Morgan earlier in the day by failing to catch him at his home address (see my DNF log for Mad Dan's Lookout), it is safe to say I was was keen for some reimbursement.
As Mr Gray was no longer in need of material things, I saw no crime in seeking some of his wealth for my own.
With accurate intelligence gleaned from documentation provided by the Gray descendants, I was successful in finding the exact location of the families long lost fortune.
Enlisting the assistance of Cybergran V to manage the finer details of our opperation, such as navigation and providing afretnoon tea, we advanced on the predetermined and confirmed station of our objective.
Our progress to GZ did not go unhampered as terrain had clearly been compromised by ovine occupation and a major waterway was to be forded with the advance party constructing crossing infrastructure to support the rear assault and aid a complete party retreat.
Despite all difficulties laid before us our party was successful in retrieving the illustrious treasure and we were satisfactorily reimbursed for our day's efforts with our monikers scribed in recognition of our achievement.

So many tracks on our maps are now fenced off and on private property. Even named roads no longer exist. It is getting harder and more difficult to access bushland. I’ve no idea how fire trucks would access the area in case of a forest fire, with only one track in and out, where there used to be half a dozen.
But dalerious had solved this puzzle, and needed the cache for a challenge he was working on.
Once again we circumnavigated a large block that previously had roads into bushland. Thwarted so many times we finally found an entrance and set out on the 425m walk. However the first 150m were across a newly levelled block. I reckon the next time we come here it will all be built on, and the only access to the bushland will be denied, even for pedestrians.
Notwithstanding we took the opportunity to find the cache, traversing uneven ground, and also crossing a little water course, where dalerious found a small log and placed it across the water, and footed it to keep it steady, whilst he assisted me across.
Cockatoos screeched overhead, and unusual bright yellow fungi grew beneath the trees. The cache, when we found it, was worth the effort, and we signed the log before heading back, with another of the challenge caches crossed off his list.
Thanks for a successful end of our journey Team BGF.
I loved the original puzzle and for that and the cache I’m happy to give you another favourite point.

We looked at this puzzle several times before the penny dropped and then realised how simple it really was. Today being dry we were able to were our best walking shoes. We loved the cache container and all the treasure that is held within. SL TFTC

TFTC. Nice trek to find this one. Think I’ve seen this treasure in another cache photo.

The rest of the family headed off to Canberra for a couple of days (some of us have to work!) and the original plan for today was to travel down to Werribee to see a vagrant duck(!) but that was cancelled as it hasn't been seen since last weekend. So what better way to spend the day than to find a few caches. Headed out in the alternative geomobile which is bluer and lower than the usual one - the latter proved a challenge turning around at some of the caches found today! First plan was to get a find a few previous DNFs (and a few I hadn't logged) and then see where I ended up (had a vague plan to end up in Wangaratta but was all a bit weather dependent).
I got away a bit later than planned and the first few took a bit longer than I hoped (though I got all but one) so by the time I finished a few more in the HSS it was too hot to walk too far. So I then targeted a whole lot of park and grabs where in most cases I left the car running with the geohound safely ensconced in the air conditioning. Did end up in Wangaratta where I picked up a few long solved puzzles, but was not organised enough to pick up a couple I need for a few local challenges. In the end I got 38 caches (including 9 I had looked for previously) and 2 DNFs (1 I can not find, the second the sun was just too hot). Though judging on I was only one of a few people that was out and about - the car thermometer hit 38 as I drove back towards Albury.
The main aim of this littel diversion - solved a while ago and wandered across a very dry grassland/wetland to sign the cache. Catch on outer container very rusty but all good ()including the listed treasure) on the inner cache. This must be an interesting area when wet - lots of (very dry) Blue Devils about, and looks like interesting daisies and other native forbs.
A bonus of over a year of unlove - TFTC Team BGF

Down for the Mega with ZQX and Darkside Dan. ZQX solved this and I have completed a post-solve. We stopped nearby and made our way across the field. I squelched in a water channel, but apart from one wet foot, the find was all good. Our return was via a dry track!! TFTC

Found on the way to the mega, with FIJ and DSD. Got a bit muddy on the way to GZ.
Enjoyed the puzzle but missed a tiny detail, making things harder for myself.
TFTC! We took no swag but DSD did take a photo of a kingfisher.

What an adventure getting to this cache. We built a bridge out of dead branches, stomped mud, braved the bugs. Found the treasure and got a photo of a kingfisher. Signed the log dsd

We found this puzzle on the map this morning. The beginning was easy but the numbers we got didn't make sense. After a while of thinking about the most difficult cases we noticed a detail. The light was green and we were heading to GZ.
We took the most impracticable way to GZ. Anyway we found the container straightaway and the treasure was ours.
Thanks for showing? Tftc

There is currently some long grass in the area. It is suggested that you stick to formed tracks to get to gz. There should be an option from the south and the east. Turn on the satellite imagery for guidance Wink

Well, that was a lesson in surveying........

I was in sunny Wang volunteering at an Archery club fund raising BBQ at Woolies, and after my shift at the sizzling of sausages had finished, I decided to grab a couple of caches before I had to whiz back up the Hume to home, and as I was the first green tick on the checker when this one was published, it was number one on the list.
Now....as we have had about 4 inches of rain lately and about a bazillion inches up in the hills, the whole place was about as flooded as.......somewhere that is flooded.....
So, it turned out to be just over 500m from the car to my calculated GZ, but about 2km after all the zig-zagging to get around and through all the water....I should have just gone with what the local wildlife know, as I discovered their main thoroughfares through the reserve all on high ground....which made for a much quicker and drier return trip.
So the stoopid phone counted down to zero and there was the well hidden gold treasure, and it was a quick sign, grab the TB, and I rehid it then sloshed my way back to the car.
Thanks guys for the great puzzle and cool cache.
Cheers

Why take the easiest way when out for a leisurely Saturday afternoon stroll! We took the approach from the north and startled quite a few kangaroos, traversed a couple of water courses, didn't stick to any paths or tracks and arrived safely at our destination with only a little mud on our boots. SL at 2.20pm. Had fun sorting through all the treasure, managed to leave most of it in the treasure chest as well as a jewellery cat. Took: Cute as a button TB. #4750 - an excellent cache for this minor milestone. TFTC Team BGF and a chance to test our mapping skills as well.

#12431. I had some maintenance to do (again) so a morning was planned to visit a few caches after visiting Oxley. Robmc and I had solved 3 new puzzles that came out over the weekend so the plan was to collect a couple of them, if not all three. Eventually, we decided to leave the 3rd puzzle for another day.

I really enjoyed doing this one and we soon had a solution sorted. After reading the FTF log we decided to pack our gumbies in case we needed to wade across crocodile-infested waters, or something like that. Anyhow, after finding what seemed the closest feasible access site we changed our footwear and headed into the unknown. There were plenty of kangaroos looking rather puzzled by our presence. After several slippery moments we finally arrived at GZ and quickly found the Lost Treasure. We discovered we were actually 2TF this one. I picked up the TB (even though I think I have had this one before) and I dropped in another to take its place. In the book it says I left a pathtag, but I forgot to do that.

Thanks Team BGF

A few new puzzles have hit the streets! We were writing puzzles for another area, but had a bit of time to look at these interesting puzzles. The checkers eventually gave us the green lights, and we needed to do a bit of maintenance and go to Wang today, so we collected two of them. Fortunately dodged the showers.

We took your warning in hand (not that I have any Best shoes!), and took the gumies. We were glad we did.
Lots of kanga bouncers around, a little confused by our coming and going.
Another great container, although I'm not sure that is real gold as it is falling off all over the place!
Thanks, Robmc.

I didn't see this new cache pop up until I got home from my run tonight, and even then it wasn't until after dinner that I had a quick read of it. A night in with the Mrs watching a movie was the plan so I didn't give it a second thought... (mostly because I'm rubbish at puzzles).
I went back to it later in the night and found a set of numbers to decipher but was stumped at this point. Lucky for me I reached out to the right knowledgeable chap and he informed me of my error and pointed me to GZ. I was close but was reading things a bit wrong. Gotta love Geo friends that a wiz kids at puzzles!
It was now 11.30pm on a Friday night... so of course I headed out to track down the treasure!
I'd never been to this location in town before. I walked a short distance to GZ, water and mud squelching beneath my boots. .On arrival the bountiful cache was located quickly. Woop woop! A blank log and **FTF** @11.45pm!
The night was cold and my phone battery low, and just after logging duties were complete it died. I raced back to the GeoRav and headed home to rug up.

TFTC

PS. No luck on the scratchy unfortunately. Thanks for that as well.
A beaut themed cache btw, very happy to find that!
