After our trip to Petal Point and Mussleroe we headed back to Gladstone. We headed to the little General Store in town to get some essentials and the store owners told us all the major roads to St Helens were closed due to downed trees. We decided to see if we could make it to Weldborough and camp at the pub.I stopped for a couple of caches on the way and then we headed further along the road to the Myrtle Forest walk. The councils had been very busy clearing the roads of the downed trees. After we parked up at the pub we met a local who advised that the last big tree had just been cleared and the road was open beyond Weldborough. Absolute carnage with so much tree debris still on the road. Great spot for a hide, we would have come back to here if the road was closed further up and camped. Luckily though the council workers had done a great job of clearing the downed trees. Ultra fast find here TFTC
[9048] Holidays on Tasmania, day 12. Today we had to move on from Launceston towards St. Helens at the Westcoast. We took the scenic route and stopped for a handful of geocaches and short walks to see wetlands, waterfalls and myrtle rainforest. This quickly found geocache also belonged to our route today. Thanks for drawing our attention to this funny piece of street art. TFTC!
It was time for me to move a little further along the coast today, so I hitched up and followed the windy road through to my next destination making a few stops along the way to take in some views and grab a couple of caches.I hope Fred uses the local pest control to keep the white ants out . Or maybe thats why he had a stone made car TFTC Rocket2015Keep smiling
Heading home after our trip away for the winter. Stopped nearby last night so we could grab a few around this area.Stopped off and made a quick find and this neat little spot. Love the handy work. Thanks for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.
Staying in St Helens we headed out to locate caches nearby and as far afield as Derby and this was one we found. It was a lovely day to be out caching. Added a piece of paper as log was too wet to remove. No muggle golfers around today. TFTC
Jetstar was having a sale…. in the middle of winter, for a destination further south than I already live. That sounds like a great idea!
So a plan for a 4 night whirlwind tour of the northern part of the state was hatched. I’ve seen lots of this beautiful state, but haven’t found a single cache. With plenty of challenges to tick off, and a long list of targeted caches, this week is the time to turn that around.
Todays adventure takes me west from Launceston to St Helens via Beaconsfield, Low Head, Bridport and Scottsdale.
A nice quick find here on the way to St Helens.
Thanks Rocket2015 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

Found this yesterday while geocaching with Piedudeaus. Horrible rainy day, and no mobile coverage to log.. but great cache! TNLN.

Our lowest number of finds per day while holidaying in Tassy. Just 5 for today. Having dropped Mr O near the top of Atlas, I picked up the two Moorina caches on my way back to Derby. Quick find. TFTC.

This was a 'side stop' for AlbyDangles and myself between peaks one and two on the *great 3 Peaks caching escapade* in the NE.
We're on our way from Rattler Hill to Little Blue Lake along with stainless-steel-rat, gooseandegg and TassieTrekkers.
A quick find with the hint, a quick admire of the 'tractors' and we're off so as not to get too far behind.
Thanks for getting me to stop here, for the cache, and the adventure.
Cheers, EPs.

Out doing some mountain biking in the area. Thought we would get some caches as well. This was a quick drive by and an easy find. Tempted to play a quick 9 holes, another time. TFTC
Today we found Flintstones parking lot on our travels. We are on another visit from Melbourne just because…well, maybe it’s all those puzzles we solved during those many lockdowns! Having the opportunity to sign some actual logs is exciting!
Thanks Rocket2015 for being part of our geocaching fun.

It’s nice to see that blue dark disappear and a yellow one in its place. I looked at the hinge before getting there so I knew where to find it, not like the last time. Very frosty morning. Thanks for the cache. Travelling with Angus 88
We are out and about exploring in the North East of Tasmania again today after staying in St Helens for the last two days. So much to see and do we are spoilt for choice. Of course our other aim for the day is to collect as many geocaches along the way as practical. Today we will reach an exciting milestone our 11000 cache and we are delighted to be finding it in Tassie.
Our fifth cache of the day and a very apt name for the cache. Some very clever carving has gone on here. We liked the three quirky wooden artefacts. The very good hint led to a very quick find, log and replace. TFTC

Travelling back from a camping holiday at Waterhouse this was a quick park and grab as we drove through. Lovely sculpture. TFTC.
A bit of a challenge this one but found it also left something better than a cup of coffee.

Today JLrockstar needed to clock up some hours for his L2s before going into lockdown, what better way than to go along and get a few caches. Overall 7 hours driving completed and 7 finds for the day.

T-Tech and I are down from Brisbane for a meandering holiday around Tasmania. We flew to Melbourne where we picked up the campervan and spent a day caching there, then took Spirit of Tasmania I to Devonport. Tick that one off the bucket list!
Today we are travelling from Low Head via George Town, Bridport, Scottsdale, Legerwood and Derby to Pyengana. I liked the woodwork done here. Thanks to the hint, the cache was a very quick find. TFTC, Rocket2015.

We were speculating on the name of this cache, and our guess was that it was in a quarry. What a hoot when we saw the actual reason.
Thanks for the cache Rocket2015

After dropping a couple of MTBers off at the top of Atlas, we took the opportunity to do a circuit drive back to Derby. This was my friend's first geocache so she was suitably stoked. Great carvings. TFTC

#9958 - 6:20:00 PM; Headed out today with the geomum and geohoney to visit a few areas around the north east where I lived and worked in my youth. Well on the wayb home now after a tour through Gladstone, Eddystone Point, Ansons Bay and St Helens. Played a game of glof here once, many many moons ago. An amusing exhibit and a nice quick find as we passed today. TFTC Rocket2015
Found on my way from St Helens to Devonport during my motorcycle holiday on this marvelous island.
What a wonderful idea. I missed Fred and Barney. I watched them in the early 70s. Thanks for taking us (wowt62 and me) here. Tftc.
While in Tasmania with PlagueRider, we stopped at a few geocaches as we wandered around from place to place exploring this little gem down under. This was one of the ones that we found. Thanks to all cache owners for putting these out here for us to hunt!

With a couple of weeks annual leave, we have decided to bring ourselves down to Tassie for a break. Why Tassie? We have visited once before and loved it, but didn't have sufficient time to see much, and 2nd, Tassie was the only state/territory that we had not cached in, and 3rd, the weather is cooler than we have been experiencing in Victoria.
Day 8. Heading west towards home today (well, the Spirit of Tasmania in Devonport)
TFTC, SL and put snuggly back in place

The cache name made sense once we pulled up here. What a cute collection of stuff.
Our muggle travelling companion checked out the course while we were here and decided it would be worth a return trip in the future [with golf clubs].
Thanks.
