*Found on the 4 Nov 2024 @ 11:00am.**Cache find # 16006.* A new day and the third day of my road trip, the task at hand was to find a minimum of 20 finds in this LGA being Gannawarra before moving on the Swan Hill and Buloke LGAsWell this place certainly needs a bit of TLC, on the bright side there was no one around to bother my while I was looking for the cache.I was looking in all the wrong spots at first until I finally spotted it.**Thanks to Hercs&pinky for keeping the game going by placing this cache.**
This might have been a nice place to pull over and have a picnic once, but now it seems to be an issue regrown rubbish dumping site. The upside for us was a half a dozen sea eagles circling above us. Cache found without issue. Thanks Hercs&pinky for placing and maintaining the cache for our enjoyment. #2384
Sir_Spectre and I went for a long weekend over to Victoria, we hosted some events and CITO's and was really impressed by all the people that made the effort to join us. Any caches that needed attention got it, with many log books being replaced or extras sheets added as needed. Thanks to all who placed and maintained caches for us to find
quick find. The bbq's here are more than worth for wear. There was no way i was using the bbq's.Found with Mogni. The plan this October Long Weekend was to head over to Victoria and host 3 CITO's plus host my first geocaching event, also increase my finds to 20 in at least 5 victorian LGA's. Given that we were caching in the country alot of km's were travelled. The weather was raining on and off all saturday including the night time but by luck all 3 events that day were dry. The first CITO ( and the cache of the trip ) was in Kaniva at the wetlands, the next in CITO was in Dimboola at one of the rest areas, and placing a future challenage cache then slowly making our way to wycheproof canavan park which was our accomadation for the weekend and then up to Mount Wycheproof ( the smallest registered mountain in Australia - at 43metres tall ) for my coffee and sunset event. Sunday started off with a early 630 am CITO in the Mount Wycheproof wetlands reserve ( sorry i did forget about daylight savings when i made the time for the event but it was a dawn and light still ). Now off to swan hill ( which is my least favorite LGA to cache in ) and then a few more LGA's and back to the tent in the dark well past dinner. Then it was slowly heading home via the silo arts works along the way and walpuep and then over the border to pinaroo and home. We went through over a milk crate of spare containers and got 2 and 1/4 garage bags of cans and bottles. Any caches that were found broken/cracked/etc were replaced and any full log books were replaced.
Oh god my GPS did not like this area! Kept telling me I was 55 metres away. So it was all up to luck! Being short & reaching for the stars sometimes sucks but not today! TFTC!
Looks like the BBQ hasn't been used on a long time. 20c a turn was pretty cheap, but gave it a hard pass. Found the cache in better condition than the area it resides in.
On our way to swan hill this is one of the caches we found today. Thanks for the Hercs&pinky
Outnabout for some solo caching while travelling from The Great Leap Forward Mega event in Adelaide to the Capital GeoBash Mega in Canberra. Grabbed this one as my 1st in the LGA. Its always a great day for caching. TFTC Hercs&pinky
No luck here today. Hopefully just one of those days when I just cant see for looking
The logs need to be caught up. Sorry for the delay in posting.
The area was beautiful, with beautiful trees and country outback. I signed the log 6ACDDE (6roos All7 Crank1 DeafPhantom DutchAus Everlasting) Hercs&pinky. Thanks for placing it.

Have a feeling the Eclipse container is in a spot that I’m not putting my hand in. Didn’t bring a pen. But thanks for this one.
After 2 days of rain, we have escaped the van and back on the caching trail. Some of the roads are tricky and some of our planned caches didnt eventuate because of our desire not to end up bogged. This one was accessible but we oticed one young fella whomthought hed try his luck on the neaeby track wasnt going anywhere soon. Nice to have the right phhsical attibutes in the team to make this one reasonably quick find. Tftc
The long weekend is upon us and after organising to pick something up from Strathmerton in the morning, I checked the map before hand and here is a place that I have not visited before.
I guy I work with stayed here in January and recommend that it was worth a visit.
So after detouring via Conargo to see if the pub has finished being rebuilt (not open yet) I arrived at my destination.
After touring around Moulamein yesterday and spending a great night in my cabin at the pub that overlooked the Edwards River it was on to my next destination.
I was taking the less travelled roads which usually meant dirt roads but that was fine by me.
Made it to my planed destination Lake Boga and after visiting the museum it was time to head back south due to the place being booked out and of course going by the less travelled back roads.
Back on the black top now and still heading south and finding caches as I go.
There are plenty of lakes up around this area all with plenty of water in them.
A rest area to pull into and park the Geocruiser and search for this one.
Luckily for me I had the place to myself and was able to spend some time looking for this one.
Thanks Hercs&pinky TFTC.

Travelling towards Wangaratta and this was one of our stops. Thanks for placing we enjoyed finding your cache. Took longer than it should have blamed the sun glare
I'm on the road for a few days, and I spent the night at this location. This morning I spent more time than should have been necessary to locate this fellow, but he's now signed and tucked away again. Thanks Hercs&pinky.
Heading to Mildura for a couple of nights to attack some of the Paddle Steamer Series.
Wet and drizzly trip thus far, but looks like it will be much clearer as we travel west.
Cache found quickly and in good condition.
TFTC Claimed our smiley.

The lake is sure charming or is it chaming?
Interesting to hear about the citrus fruit.
Thanks for the quick to find cache and luckily I had a tool in my car to help.
Not to continue my drive home.

Out and about, north west of Kerang in the fine company of the Suscoe duo. We found a range of caches, some in places where we learnt more about how this part of Victoria works. Suscoe shared a very interesting tale to tell about a previous visit to the roadside stop!
Our thanks to 'Hercs&pinky' for adding this cache to the geo-gameboard.

Suscoe headed out for a day of caching to the west and north of Kerang.
We were lucky with the weather and it was a pleasant day with a mild temperature.
We found a range of caches and we found a good number today.
Thanks to Hercs&pinky for this hide, took a little while, resorted to the torch and eventually it was spotted.

Find No. 3089. Found with FUF009 at 6.35pm.
With Covid restrictions being lifted it was now time to go for a days outing with Geodog Penny and FUF009, and do some caching.
As we wanted to collect the 'Wonders of the World' stamps we decided to head up Kerang way, targeting the caches that held the stamps we both needed. Naturally we done a few extras along the way, as how can you go past a cache that is close and handy to the road we were travelling on?
As we were heading home we decided to stop off and grab our final four caches along this road for the day which were ones close and handy to the road. This was our last one.
Something so easy to find that took us ages due to the fading light. Usually it is FUF009 who is up to date with modern technology but not today as it was Mrs Tyred n Cranky who went back to the van to grab her phone to use the torch on it. Shone the torch and there it was so well camouflaged. Yep next time we go caching we are going to put our Dewalt torch in which has a very strong beam of light. Something you never think to take with you when heading off in the daylight.

Havent been out for a while so we decided to head up Kerang way for a drive and collect some of the "Wonders of the World" stamps.
Took us some time here in the fading light. It was Mrs Tyred n Cranky that (finally) used her phone as a torch n made the find..... oh boy I'm not gunna live this one down.

Day #10 of the adventure although it’s day 1 of adventures on my own as the others had to go home. Aim of the day is to explore Kerang and some of its surrounding lakes.
A relatively quick find given the location
Thanks Hercs&pinky for placing the hide!

Harvest interrupted coz of rain so out grabbing some smilies. Knew what I was looking for and the possible GZ. Should have looked clockwise and not counter clockwise.

As we headed from Swan Hill to Bendigo today, we stopped along the way to look for some caches. This was one of them.
Accurate coordinates and a familiar style of hide led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Hercs&pinky for the cache and others you have placed in the area.

Heading from Swan Hill to Benalla today via Deniliquin to collect a few LGAs and we chose a day where the temperature reached about 44c and strong winds!! The list of caches was trimmed down to just one in each LGA.
Other than that thanks so much to all the COs for hiding and maintaining these caches for us to enjoy finding them.

Today was not the best day to cache. Very very high temperatures (44c), gusty winds and raised dust. However when you are travelling through, and you are from Brisbane, then you must cache. Mainly getting caches in different LGA's in Victoria and NSW as travelling from Swan Hill to Benalla. Found the cache and signed the log. TFTC

Extremely squarky young birds high in the structure were letting me know i wasn't welcome whilst i was 'reaching' to find this cache.
Lucky for them it wasn't long and the sneaky well hidden cache was in hand and the log signed at 13:09 on Mon 7 Oct 2019.
The young birds had the last say as i replaced the cache lol

Found with becca85, boo09 & chan02 on our way home from a family trip to Mildura. TFTC
A quick find with boo09, neisha07 & chan02 on our way home from a mini-trip to Mildura. We'd stopped in Tresco to check in on my Grandpa and bring him some dinner so it was very dark by the time we got here. TFTC
First found 2019, lazy sunday afternoon drive through the country side on a beautiful sunny day.

Having to go to Swanhill to deliver some equipment for the New Years Eve festivities there we made the most of it by stopping to grab a few caches along the way to break up the drive.
This was the seventh for the day.
We have been to many places like this where the indigenous name slowly got butchered to make it easier for us white fellas. This one isn't quite as bad as some of the others, perhaps the aboriginal pronunciation sounded more like that. That aside today we were here for the cache and of course we started searching in the wrong spot and worked our way around to we eventually got our hands on it and happily added our name to the log.
Thanks Hercs&pinky for the cache and for the history.

I had a few extra days off work so BettyBoo3747 and I decided to nip across to Swan Hill for a few caches. Been quite a while since we have been here and there are lots of new caches to do.
Travelled across from Beechworth to Lake Boga today, relaxing by the lake now.
Interesting history of the area. Not too much trace of any of it left these days.
We found the cache after a bit of a search at the place where I first looked!
Thanks, Robmc.

#14694. Day 1 of a short break for Robmc and me so we are spending a few nights at Lake Boga Caravan Park. Most of the day was spent travelling and collecting 13 caches along the way.
Another stop, another cache after a bit of searching at higher levels. Rob went back to where he started and there it was.

Found by Aussie Train Driver 23/08/2018, find number 1331.
This was a quick find on the road North. Despite it being late at night I was surprised with the amount of road traffic passing. I couldn't see much of the nearby lake but from the illumination provided by the moon this looked like it would be a beautiful spot in the daylight.
Thanks for the cache!

The cache notes are very interesting to read [^]
But it always leaves me feeling sad that the original landscape has been decimated by white settlement
This lake sure has lost its charm
Taken over by noisy machines these days when the water levels are right !!
No wonder the indigenous population of the areas are hanging their heads in disbelief.
Bugger !! Eh ??
