very cute little walk we wouldn't have discovered if it wasn't for this cache! TFTC!
First for this beautiful Autumn day. Going to be a great walk along the trail. Easy find. SL at 10:15am, TFTC.
Another gem of our local history, thank you for bringing me here. All good. Now onto the next one for the day. TFTC
What an absolute great spot beautiful sunny day out and about thank you for bringing us to a lovely location
spot mill can be accessed from the winery Peter Booth is the blokes name really nice gentleman don’t be scared to call-in to the winery and buy a bottle really nice chat talk to you for hours just explain to him what you are doing and he would be happy to let you wander through the back gate yep
Came on a mission thinking I’d be going cross country and then realised that a track would link this clutch of caches! Significantly this loop did not show up on the APP so you could say I was saved. A bonus is some exercise in splendid country and it was a nice wander to here. Enroute to home base from marvellous Melbs so thought a detour to the Warbys’ in order. TFTC AND THE FUN and a FAVE for an interesting spot.
Found with dalerious. What a wonderful day chosen to hike through this gorgeous place, which never fails to provide interesting things to see and wonder at. So much history tucked away which caused such a surprise when we came upon them. It was truly magical walking this trail and exploring it's delights. The creeks were flowing enough to set the scene, and we came upon a spot that we couldn't resist but have a dip and cool off. So many photos, so many vista's, so many wonderful memories. Thank you Team BGF and JA for placing your caches in an area that more people should visit. All caches were found in good condition . I am going to leave the rest of my story with my photos . Favourite given to all!
I have had my eye in this little series of caches for a jolly long time now and today was the day I finally got to come and grab them while there was still a bit of water flowing. Best of all I got to share the experience with catnap777 who was also keen to visit them.
After a late start and a spot of lunch, we made our way from the recommended car park to this once industrious little spot.
The signage here was most impressive displaying exactly what the old site used to look like and showing the mechanics of how the remaining artefacts on display once worked.
TFTC Team BGF. It was a great start to a most enjoyable walk.

Where can we walk in the Warbies today? Let's do the WFHT walks and series. We hoped the rain would stay away and it did. Lovely walk around the tracks, reading the information signs and cache hunting. We made some of our own tracks too, like the kangaroos do! Thanks for the series and caches Team BGF
Didnt really have and plans today except wanting to find some caches in the Warbies
This one was a great little hide to start our day not too far from where we had parked the car... Signed the log and added some swag then headed off for number 2

The decision was made to head to the Warbys after the rain and catch some waterfalls and add some smilies. It was a late start due to a desire to sleep off a few beverages from the night before so after lunch SomethingDifferent and I headed off to attack the Warby Falls Heritage Trail and finish off at the brewery just down the hill. It ended up being a long day with luckily only a sprinkling of rain and a surprising lack of water after the rain we have had.
The first of many for the day and a very interesting historic artifact.

Day one of my holidays, heading to Wangaratta for a couple of nights. I thought I'd suss this series out from the bottom before attempting it tomorrow. But eagerness got the better of my, and I started out to do a few from the bottem today, and hopefully doing the rest tomorrow. This was the first and was found quickly. Interesting history here.
Thanks to Team BGF for the cache.

Just realised I had no smileys for these few caches... and no online logs! Must have saved as drafts by mistake!!
Found on 9th August 2018. Really loved seeing the old machinery, and reading the history. Even got to meet the infamous Mr. Booth on my way, because I got a little lost!
Found cache ok. Was out in the open a little, after a year or so without human interaction, so camo-ed it better.
Thanks for the cache!!

The Geobairns and I completed the upper half of this series nearly two and a half years ago. With a lazy Saturday afternoon in front of us, we decided a family hike was in order, so we set off from the lower car park this time to knock off the couple of remaining caches in the original series of caches along this trail.
I was hoping for a couple of years of unlove seeing as these haven’t been logged in over a year, but there’s a name in the logbook from Aug 2018 that hasn’t yet logged online. Oh well.
TFTC and the lovely springtime walk.

Beautiful day to find this cache! Just before heading on the walk Peter Booth came and introduced himself at the car park site! Lovely man and last person to use the mill!
A short walk in the Warbys with Howjen567. (BB did the drop off!)
We passed a local walking group a couple of times on the trail (going in the other direction).
The Heritage trail still does not appear on the web - very weird!
They have done so much work with signage, then not even a map online.
Interesting ruins of the Mill - lots left.
Thanks, Robmc.

Looked at this series from the top end earlier today and was planning to arrange a car each end but Jen suggested an outing late this arvo so we did a few of the lowest ones. Couldn't pursued her to continue past 3. The grass seeds in the socks were getting beyond a joke. Will be back though.
Interesting spot. They must have carted a lot of logs in as they would be hard pressed to find many good mill logs in the warbies.

Technology took the bananas some place where we weren't to go before an old man drove up and pointed out we were lost.
B1 asked if he was Ned Kelly.
He wasn't.
So with smiling directions we returned back up the track and parked in the right spot.
From there we continued our journey.

Not really the right weather for bush walking with Nena Nine
Awesome first find for the day. Miss judged rock and landed right in the water having to continue with one very wet foot but so well worth it
Thanks for the cache

Out for another walk today and this time with Emma. We stopped in at the brewery before heading up to the track.
We found this cache first on our way to the falls. It's strange that the nearby sign doesn't mention the falls at all!
Easy find at GZ. TFTC!!

I must say when returning from the falls, and having signed the log here, I was terribly tempted to drop in to say Gday to James Booth and have a pint or two of his beers!! Unfortunately I had a few ks hike/ride back to the car and didn't think it would help my form..
So anyway, I loved checking out the mill setup, and imagining a different time.
Cheers Gordo

Found on sunday. Logged on monday. Phones battery had 7% and no reception. GPS was all over the place and so many potential hiding spots. Was almost about to give up and treck the long 2.4ks back to car park 2 when Becstar and I stumbled across GZ. Was so happy to get back to the car and some cold water and rest my extreamly sore legs. Was awesome idea to walk alobg the river from weir 1. Saw so much more interesting stuff then walking on the trail. But I do have a good sense of direction so we weren't going to get lost or fall of a rocky cliff.
After starting from the carpark at the other end of the track, I had a bit of a rest and took some photos of the Mill before searching. This cache took us a little while to find as the gps had just run out of battery so were relying on our phones which were jumping all over the place. But eventually found it and signed log before setting back on the long journey to the car. TFTC
Headed over this morning before it got too hot. Good to see a graded track to GZ. We had a chat with the guy who lives near the parking area. He arrived on a 4 wheeler with a shotgun across his lap ... hahaha We have met him before and he gave a pumpkin to take home. Found cache OK and logged. Headed uphill from here to the next one. That's another story... TFTC
FTF! Our Friday evening did not go quite as planned, but the lure of a FTF got too much for us at about 8pm! We thought it would be a good way to pass the time while we waited for family to arrive from Melbourne. We arrived at the parking co-ords in the daylight (just) and admired the newly graded track we needed to take to GZ. Terrain 2.5 hmmmm...add in kangaroos, bats flitting in the trees and the onset of darkness - and suddenly it turns into a night cache and the terrain rating went up to about 4! What fun - up and down and twisting and turning, avoiding holes and dodging upturned rocks, on we went. We could just spot the mill, before veering off the track to find the cache. SL the blank log book at 8.50pm Took a couple of photos to prove we walked the walk, and made our way carefully back to the geoCruiser. We promise to come back in the daylight and explore the area properly and maybe even find the other cache further along the track. #3392 TFTC Team BGF - a fitting end to our working week. And just in case you were wondering about our visitors - they had let themselves in and were settled in front of the TV by the time we arrived back at 9.30pm. The first question they asked was 'Did you find it? ' LOL
