Stopped in Geraldton for a while to see the HMAS memorial and then down to this old jail, had to wait for some footpath traffic to go by but then soon had the cache, thanks for placing and

After searching at the GPS point I started reading old logs.. looked further outside the coords and it was then a quick find.

As per previous posts, GPS took us about 10m away from the eventual find which we discovered by thinking about obvious places to hide a micro cache. Log is full and needs replacing so we squeezed our name onto it and replaced as found. Cool hide. TFTC
After the Batavia-cache we search this cache on the walk in the afternoon. Good found TFTC
Nice easy find once we had a look at possible locations. Thanks for placing this cache for our enjoyment.
Out and about again, up North I’m Geraldton, early morning jaunt collecting while most people are sleeping.
Found a variety of hides and in different areas which made for a nice day. Generally quick finds today
Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides I found.

Catching up on some late logs, now that I have time, while travelling.
We are on the road travelling up through central Australian and down the coast of WA. I was happy to grab a few caches along the way and this was one of them.
This one was found after extending the search to th obvious location, where a quick find was made. Then we headed into the old goal to explore all the craft stalls and info it provided.
Thanks reticbob for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

A trip from Mandurah to Geraldton with a few detours for LGAs. TFTC.
Coords being way out made it a bit harder.

We visited the old jail and checked out the craft work happening there. This cache was found after widening the search area by about 10 meters.
My GPS was out. But put on my geocache hat and there it was. Lovely building. TFTC
The building and its stories are very interesting. Spent some “time” here reading the history. TFTC
Day 3 of the road trip with the boys C10,B12,L1.77 - lots of laughs and perhaps a little therapy will be needed after this trip. But one thing is for sure - I am determined to get a few more yellows on the map on my final full day here in Gero. Many thanks to the COs for the mix of caches. Sorry for the genetic log
Caching in the Greater Geraldton area today. Our intention for the day was to attack some power trails and do map cleanup around town.
Found it once I used SpatialRiq’s coordinates - S 028° 46.150' E 114° 36.875' Cheers reticbob!

Grumpy rude women in craft centre. Found it. Love the history of this area.
Another bluey gone. Started our 2nd tour of WA now touring around the south slowly heading north on our way home to Cairns. Did your Claim A Convict today. 28 February 2022 12:39 pm Tyfc reticbob total caches now 4360 .
After broadening the search area I found it. Just as Big Mick and the Turdler started wandering back to the car

Had a spare hour in town. What better to do than get outnabout finding a cache or two. Now that we’ve come, we plan on returning for a tour. TFTC reticbob.
Find 28 of 29 with fourteen DNFs on a day-long 30km bike ride around Geraldton with not a cloud in the sky. Many more DNFs than we would usually register, this is a tricky town! Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these caches.
Super quick find despite our fatigue. Love a nice strong magnet, thanks reticbob.

Enjoying our day in Geraldton, off the Radiance of the Seas. Signed the log CCC. Thanks for bringing me here, all the way from Vancouver, Canada!
Thank you for bringing us here! Quick find by mp13. Such an interesting gaol site to visit!
Vandaag zijn we met de Maasdam hier aangekomen en maken nu een mooie wandeling door het stadje. Tftc
Tracked down while I was in Geraldton, unfortunately it was after hours, so I couldn’t visit the Gaol.

Found during my half lap advanture from Adelaide. Container and log book in good condition. TFTC.
Camping about 5kms south of Geraldton so was up early for camp breakfast and then a drive in to town. My first visit here so parked up next to the Jaffle Cafe for a coffee and then had a lovely looping walk around the marina and back to the car. A mixed bag with the caches though: a total of 6 finds but 5 DNFs. What a lovely historical area. No joy initially but then used SpatialRiq’s coords and made the find Unimaginable what it must have been like back in the day - talk about tough!! After the find I headed into the Gaol for a look around, as all good tourists should TFTC
We set out full of enthusiasm today, lots of caches loaded into the trusty GPS. One or two we had looked for on our last visit with no luck, but we decided that today would be our lucky day.
We ended the day with not quite so much enthusiasm! Fourteen finds out of a possible twenty five. We are usually much better at finding these little treasures. Is it a case of the dreaded Geraldton DNF we wonder?
One a happier note this was one of the fourteen we did find. Today lived up to the weatherman's forecast, with beautiful blue skies, lovely and warm and not too much of a breeze. If you're going to rack up the DNF's at least we had a great day to do it on!
The last time we were here the visitors centre was nearby, but we have seen it is now relocated to down near the dock area. Love the old brick buildings around Geraldton, but this is one that was not built to be comfortable.
The coords were a bit out on this one, but Mr SKI located with with a bit of geo-sense.

After a quick find of the cache we did the touristy thing and headed in to check out the gaol. A very interesting place and we spent way longer here than we expected to.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Nice hide, found after a short search narrowing down the possibilities, and timing the traffic, TFTC!
Went to visit the Goal today but alas it is closed on Sundays, but hey it made the find real easy. SL TFTC
Goal is shut on a Sunday so that made it a easy find. No muggles and very little passing trafic

I wish I had more time too look around. Another time. A nice straight forward find here in an interesting area.

Day 2 of our mini road trip and still in town doing some more caching. Today's plan tackle Alexander series then head to Northampton, Nabawa, and Nanson then back to Gero.
Have a few caches on my list so fingers crossed we can manage as many as possible
Turns out another warm day in town and I didn't pack my shorts
Lucky I read Ilutrekking and richlink's logs otherwise it would have been a DNF for me
TFTC
All good and replaced as found

Our last day of caching in Geraldton with iluvtrekking and after a morning visit to Ellendale Pool Mrs iluvtrekking and I dropped off our geo-hubbys along the foreshore cycle trail so that they could grab some finds while enjoying the scenery. We headed off together grabbing finds in the surrounding suburbs. Located about 8 mts from where gps led us. Thanks reticbob
We had a great day an in and around Gerald ton. The boys rode their bikes along the IGD 2016 cycle way while we girls looked for caches a little further afield. Thanks for the cache reticbob, we had to widen our search zone about 8m to find it.
Headed up to Geraldton for 4 days to try and find as many caches as we could. Its been 6 months since we were last there and there has been so many new caches come out that we will need another trip there to find them all. We ended up finding 215 and about a dozen DNFS. We picked a few up on the way and did a detour on the way home to Mullewa and i must say the wildflowers are beautiful at the moment. We found a great variety of caches including a couple of wherigo,s, lots of field puzzles, multi,s and the highlight for the hubby was doing the chirp cache. I would like to say all caches were found quickly but that definately wasnt the case lol.... There was some very tricky and sneaky hides that took quite a while to find with a few we went back a couple of times to till we found them. We managed to find a few that we previously had DNFS on and it was was great finding a lot of creative cache containers especially some of the field puzzle ones. Thanks to everyone for the caches and hope to find a lot more on our next trip to geraldton....
Caching our way to IGD Geraldton. Also celebrating our 28th Wedding Anniversary. This one took a while to find but Paul found it. SL TFTC reticbob . A very interesting location enjoyed having a wander around
TFTC! Today was day one of the "boys weekend" with me and Cravo heading up to Geraldton for IGD 2016, my third trip to this great part of our state and johns second. Think we will continue to do this every year? Especially with all of the new caches getting published around town!!
We drove up the coastal route to cleanup the last of what we had left, so that we could concentrate on the various alternate routes on the way home and on our trip to Geraldton and Mullewa next week for the annual Mullewa Gift event.
We picked up a number of new caches along the route and even some that we had missed on previous visits, being in a 4wd this year made it a lot easier to get to some of the hard to reach places that a 2wd would struggle to get to.
We completed a few really nice caches at cliff head including a legendary Liz and Bruce hide and a couple of ten year old caches.
We got to Greeenough and decided to complete the greenough walk trail caches as well as the caches along Delvin road, knowing that we wouldn't be heading back this way on the way home.
The greenough walk trail was great except for getting two flat tyres from some slow leaks that happened to go a bit faster!!
We then moved our attention to the planes series, which was just bliss, chewed through about 25 caches in just over an hour with Cravo and me taking turns at finding the most likely spot for a cache from about two hundred meters away.
We then meandered around town cleaning up a bunch of caches that have either been recently published or we've missed previously. Had a couple of DNFs, nowhere near as many as I famously had last year, but I might have to refresh my notes from some local cache owners who I'm looking forward to meeting at the event tomorow.
Thanks to the local COs for their hospitality so tatami their cool caches.

Headed to Geraldton for the International Geocaching Day event on Saturday 20th August.
Barnzy12 and I packed the car at 6am and headed North. Despite making a critical error by choosing the freeway to start the journey we then made it to Geraldton and checked into the motel by 5.30pm.
We found several caches along the way some new, old and even archived caches. As I missed the event last year I was guided to some others on the map that I hadn't found before and made for some quicker finds yet still enjoyable.
Ended up back at the motel after getting the new plane spotting series and some other caches close to the city centre at around 9pm. Beers were cold and was then time to relax. After a 15 hour day sleep was needed ready for the big day tomorrow.

Hi there reticbob.
We found your cache **"Claim A Convict"** at 11:15:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 14324.
Our 6th day in Geraldton, and there are still a few unexplored areas to look into. The town itself is to be congratulated on all the interesting things visitors can see and do - - and then there's Geocaching as well.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour around the area today. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many wonderful caches in interesting places.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache around 14 metres from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Found this one with Leega before leaving Geraldton. This was our last cache in town before hitting the road. TFTC reticbob.
An interesting visit to this lovely historical building. Found the cache with axell33. Thanks for the hide.
Day 4 of our road trip to Geraldton and a wet miserable day in Geraldton not conducive to getting out and exploring the area and doing allot of caching. So we looked up the high FP caches and targeted those with a couple of others near to other places we visited. Ended up seeing a few of the sights and frequent visits to coffee shops kept the cold at bay .
A quick find after visiting the arts and crafts in the old gaol.
Thanks for the cache reticbob [^] - we made the find and the cache was in good order and the log dry . The modified attachment made retrieving the cache difficult, so the CO may want to check this out.
This was find # 3 of 8 and 1 today giving us a total cache count of 3182.

Found by Mary & David at 0930. Had to wait for a group of school kids to pass by on their visit to the museum. Fascinating stories of the time here. A FP for this one. Our thanks to reticbob.
I rolled up to GZ on the pushbike to find this cache
Now where could it be hiding !!??
I was convinced that it must be in a particular spot.
I stuck to me convictions, and soon found me a well hidden cache

I decided to grab a quick cache on my way to do some shopping. I think that is the only way to motivate me to go to the shops! I found this quickly using geosense instead of paying attention to the coordinates, as I had read some previous logs. TFTC ReticBob
Initially I could not find the cache although I spotted a number of possible hidy holes but none of them had a cache hidden. After reading the previous logs I widened my search and yes there it was! Tftc reticbob
Nice easy find. Great to have a read about the history of the gaol while we were there. With Del&Max TFTC
Fun on Anzac Day with Rumpleteasers. Didn't realise we had a Maximum Security Area in Geraldton for a few years. TFTC Reticbob.
A place that I have been wanting to visit for a while however today we have not got enough time to explore inside and will have to be satisfied I claiming the cache until we come back again. Our co-ords were a little off but widening the search area we found it quickly. TFTC reticbob!
Took a few minutes to find this as the gps had us 10 metres away. But, as usual the boss came to the rescue and got us out of trouble. SL and completed another month on the geo-calender. TFTC reticbob.
Out on our regular Sunday bike ride and decided we should take a look at some geocaches as we must be missing a few as we cycle around. Sure enough this one wasn't too far off of our track and with no markets this weekend all was nice and quite. We made the find easily and also ran into our son who was returning from a morning out on his paddle board, so after signing the log we took advantage of the nearby car park to sit and chat.
Thanks reticbob

Thanks reticbob for the cache
