No lid and a Few snails had made a meal of the end! Also we forgot our pen so couldnt sign it TFTC
Out here today trying to claim a few more smileys around Geraldton, not the best day with only 50/50. TFTC Oh and the log was wet
We awoke to another beautiful day in Geraldton, fantastic after the two windy, wet days when we first arrived. so what better thing to do than to head out geocaching again.
Yesterday we worked in the central art of town and down round the port so today we decided to head out a bit to the south, along the top of the rise first then returning along the coast.
It was a mixed day with a number of well crafted caches, a number in need of maintenance and some great hides. With the outstanding views it was a great day.
This was another straightforward find with the GPSr leading us directly to the cache for a fairly quick find.
The container is broken at the top and has no lid so the log is wet. We still managed to get the biro to sign however.

Back in Geraldton for a quick work trip. Keeping to my usual plan to find at least one cache here. I think if I come back about 200 more times I’ll find all the caches here.
A nice quick find here.
Miss-Placed SVKR_WA found your cache High bury Heights today at 06:51:40 4 May 2018.
I am happy to have found it and thank you for placing it and adding to this great game.
This find brings my find count to 3022

Glad I got to this one when I did, as someone had reversed the cache in its hidy spot which would have a nightmare for another cacher! I managed to destroy the cache container while removing it, but luckily had a spare with me as I had the intention of renewing this container.
Stopped at this cache whilst on a roadtrip with Eliktrisiti. We didn't find as many caches in the Geraldton area as we had hoped for, and after being home for a week or so, I have decided that the motto I would adopt for these logs would be this: It isn't the destination that is important, it is the journey!
In a nutshell, we had fun and that is what it is all about. Great company, lots of interesting locations, good variety of caches, even got to meet one of the local geocachers while out and about, and of course, we came home with a whole swag of smileys.
This cache was found on the second day. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache beckmonts & Miss-Placed and for showing us around the Greenough/Geraldton area.

Cody found it while jimmy was standing right on top of it! Might need a new log this one is a bit damp
Our last day of caching in Geraldton with iluvtrekking and after a morning visit to Ellendale Pool Mrs iluvtrekking and I dropped off our geo-hubbys along the foreshore cycle trail so that they could grab some finds while enjoying the scenery. We headed off together grabbing finds in the surrounding suburbs. Thanks becknmonts
We had a great day an in and around Gerald ton. The boys rode their bikes along the IGD 2016 cycle way while we girls looked for caches a little further afield.
Thanks becknmonts
Thanks becknmonts
Headed up to Geraldton for 4 days to try and find as many caches as we could. Its been 6 months since we were last there and there has been so many new caches come out that we will need another trip there to find them all. We ended up finding 215 and about a dozen DNFS. We picked a few up on the way and did a detour on the way home to Mullewa and i must say the wildflowers are beautiful at the moment. We found a great variety of caches including a couple of wherigo,s, lots of field puzzles, multi,s and the highlight for the hubby was doing the chirp cache. I would like to say all caches were found quickly but that definately wasnt the case lol.... There was some very tricky and sneaky hides that took quite a while to find with a few we went back a couple of times to till we found them. We managed to find a few that we previously had DNFS on and it was was great finding a lot of creative cache containers especially some of the field puzzle ones. Thanks to everyone for the caches and hope to find a lot more on our next trip to geraldton....
TFTC! Up to Geraldton again with Barnzy12 and a muggle mate to attend the annual Mullewa Gift Athletics Event in Mullewa, about 100km east of Geraldton.
We travelled up Friday arvo picking up four FTFs that had been placed whilst people were out and about on their way home from the fantastic IGD event last weekend. All four were found quickly and without problems.
We checked into our accomodation after a quick drive up to Geraldton with good weather.
Fast forward to Saturday morning and it was time for the IGD after party event, i had started to come down with the Flu so a sleep in is in order. It is a fantastic spot and really well thought out. It's a must do if you're in Geraldton just not so early this time round.
Later in the morning we grabbed a couple of caches around town before we headed off to Mullewa to drop Scott off at the Gift, where he managed to collect some prize money.
Barney and I extended the journey out to Yalgoo and to the wreath flowers geocache to collect a few more counties of Western Australia challenge on project GC.
We returned to Mullewa and the to Geraldton for food and fuel before making our way back to Perth via Eneabba to pickup another county of Western Australia for the challenge on the way home in the pouring rain.
Thanks to the local COs for their caches.See you all for IGD 2017

Fast forward to Saturday morning and it was time for the IGD after party event, but the gents were keen on a sleep in, so I braved it alone with a few of the hardcore Geraldton cachers who braved the rain to go up to the HMAS Sydney memorial. It is a fantastic spot and really well thought out. It's a must do if you're in Geraldton.

Then made a slight detour to the dam which I managed to miss the turn off to on the way out but the cars GPS led me there on the way back. Slipped over in the mud near the dams edge and got a bit dirty, so had to get changed when I made it back to the car.

Thanks to the local COs for their caches and the hardcore teams that turned out at 630am for the event. See you all for IGD 2017

Hi there becknmonts.
We found your cache **"High bury Heights"** at 1:26:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 14334.
Our 6th day in Geraldton, and there are still a few unexplored areas to look into. The town itself is to be congratulated on all the interesting things visitors can see and do - - and then there's Geocaching as well.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour around the area today. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many wonderful caches in interesting places.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache around two metres from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Yay! GeoJ had it in his head as to where to look for this one so we parked up and bingo! Right there! Exactly where he thought it would be! TFTC!
Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about with some of those friends and we targeted this cache.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!
Thanks becknmonts (F=775 H=90) for placing this cache.

Found with micaparamedic. We did what the deescription said , and viola! There was the cache. Nice views too.
Girlfriend found it before me , nice view up on the hill of the beach and surf club . Walshy31
Hooray !!
An easy one
Even I could find it [^]
The surf club roof is interesting,
it shimmers almost golden in the sunshine,
thanks to the tarnish caused by the constant exposure to the salt laden air around here
Give it five years and it will need replacing !! [:o]
