I am archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in a prior reviewer note.

25-Mar-24
Hi zboy wonderThis geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived. Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.RegardsTheCoddiwompler

I have been here three times now, and no cache found.

04-Feb-24
CO is no longer active, and it seem like the cache is no longer there.

25-Nov-23
No luck for me today.

20-Nov-23
No luck for me here. It may need to be checked as I did a reasonable search.

17-Apr-23
We couldn't find it

26-Dec-22
Found, note book soaking wet.

05-Jun-22
Given I was 2 clicks up the road, thought I should gather this lonely one Quick find, nicely concealed from the visitors just up the road. Thanks zboy wonder!

29-Mar-22
After stopping by here last night to find the road end heaving with horse trucks, I returned today at a time when GZ is quieter (note the comparative; quieter, not quiet). Managed to extract cache in a (hopefully) inconspicuous fashion. All good, tftc!

02-Mar-22
Been in Waikanae/Paraparaumu area, a bike ride along the cycleway for five new caches. Now up this side road before heading home. Thanks zboy wonder for the cache.

25-Feb-22
On my way from the Hutt to Twigs Events in Ohau. Grabbing the odd cache here and there on the way.

Original log wet and gross. Previous finders left a fresh log. Signed and replaced as found. TFTC

20-Nov-21

Break easy to find

13-Feb-21
Found during an exploration of the coastal settlements and beach accesses. Log book was sodden but managed to write on it. Thanks for the placement.

25-Nov-20
A bit of a random exploration in a area I'd not visited before. It was raining steadily and I happened to park pretty much right next to the cache. I took the logbook back to the car to attempt to sign but it was far too soggy to do that so I just took a picture. TFTC.

25-Nov-20
Log is too wet to be serviceable.

20-Nov-20
Out on a weekend caching trip with Buttels with the aim of picking up the SHIELD and 20/20 series and mostly solved puzzles along the way. The cache was an easy find but the log and container were very soggy. T4TC

20-Nov-20
Nice easy cache, but a wet logsheet. Found with CrystalFairy. TFTC

01-Oct-20
Exploring the area here to try and find some driving access onto the beach for work. No go at this road end but managed to collect a cache on the way so that was a bonus. Nice little hidey hole, log too wet to write on so took a photo. Cheers

Mrs G had planned a while ago a little catch-up on a few caches trip, mainly a bit south of Otaki and out to the east and to the west. Today seemed like a good time to go now we're on Covid 19 Level 2, and the Memory Lane Challenge has just begun. Smile
Cache #5 today for us. By now we had left the eastward side of our loop route and headed out to the west. This was a quick and straightforward find. We had to pour a little water out of the cache but the logbook was only a little damp and easy enough to sign. TFTC

29-Feb-20
I think it's safe to say I had not been to this location previously. It's always good to get off the busy main road for a bit of caching. I was aware of the hint but I think the accurate coordinates would have meant it still would have been a quick find without it.

20-Jan-20
Nice quick find while on the way to take the hound to the beach to cool off.
TFTC

06-Jan-20
Cool find took a little time to find

What is that brick doing in a tree!! Glad to park in the shade. Apologies for the late log. TFTC

***[======== NZ Mega 2020 ========](http://nzmega.com)***

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:

* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!

Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

Great location if you follow the clue!

14-Sep-19
I came up the coast today to boost my numbers for September.

I had swung by here between Christmas and New Year, but it was heavily packed with cars and people, so gave it a miss. It was different today in that there was only one car parked at the end so I was able to search in peace. Quickly found the cache, but it was quite wet and the bag had water in it. The logbook was still reasonable, but I wiped out the bag with some paper towels I had. Signed and replaced everything back where it was. TFTC

24-Aug-19
A lovely day so took the opportunity to go for a short stroll on the beach. TFTC

Today I found myself in Waikanae, having finished up my workday much earlier than usual. And as it was also a dot day for me, what better way is there to make use of journey home than to stop and get a cache?

Having never been down this road before, I took my time which was an added bonus as I think I may have found a few potential climbing trees to bring my son to as we both love the challenge of a good tree climb!

Once at GZ, the find was very quick thanks to the accurate coordinates and Hint. The wind had certainly picked up by the time I was trying to sign the log, but everything was fine so I was soon back on my way home again.

Thank you for placing this cache, and bringing me to yet another new location I might otherwise have never visited.

Day 2 of my road trip for WENZ Mega. Flew up from Invercargill to Wellington yesterday and will end the day in Wanganui.
Intended doing the wee trail closer to the main road, but workers weedeating at the first one so continued down to here.
Plenty of birdlife here - some quite colourful.
Took a trackable that's been here a few months.
Thanks for the smilie zboy wonder.

Quick park and grab while in the area for work, dropped TB

14-Jul-18
All nice and quiet here early Saturday morning and a rather pleasant excursion off the main highway to visit this cache.

Many thanks to zboy wonder.

06-Jul-18
With things starting to get busy on the farm we thought we'd better knuckle down and make some inroads into the latest souvenir hunt before we run out of time, so a trip out and about in the Horowhenua was decided upon.
The weather forecast had looked reasonable when we checked it last night, but there was a steady drizzle most of the day.
It took us a few goes to select the correct hiding spot, but we certainly knew when we saw it, yip, that's where it will be!
We left a pet rock - a wombat.
Thanks for setting this up zboy wonder

13-May-18
Great hint. Owner of the property beside was cautious and concerned as to what we were doing so we thought best to explain and set her at ease. Would be a great private beach access

06-May-18
Had to wait for cows to cross the road and then a few horse riders passing before a nice quick find. TFTC.

25-Apr-18
Cycled north along the beach to get to this one, hard work into the wind! Passed a few horses having fun rolling in the sand. Cows in nearby paddock watched me sign the log.

22-Apr-18
nice hint.

12-Apr-18
Thanks for the cache.
It was quite wet inside the container so I dried it out and tried to seal the plastic bag a bit better. Log still in great condition.

Meanwhile zboy wonder makes a mundane macrocarpa more memorable... muchas gracias

26-Mar-18
Nice area lot a of slaters

24-Aug-17
North to Alaska! Going North, the rush is on! Except that I am geocaching, which has to the the slowest way to travel between any two places. Off to Palmy for a few days to catch up with family.

14-Aug-17
A quick find this morning. Thanks for the cache.

04-Aug-17
I decided I'd head up the coast early today to grab a few caches before a meeting in Raumati. All ok here. TFTC

30-Jul-17
Found during a day out with SAROC and Yeetrees mopping up a number of caches around the coast. After all the wet weather recently, the day dawned clear and bright, just a wee chill in the morning air. All in all, a fun day's caching.

On the way up to today's event with GSEL - this was a quick stop to collect this as I was aiming for 50 in a day for a challenge (no 2). - Wow - the newly opened up expressway sure makes getting up here much easier! TFTC - now northwards!

the find was easy enough but the grabbing and opening was another story, a very shiny black spider with its ball of eggs was enough to make me grab hubby out of the car and get him to open, got to use my brand new stamp for signing. thanks for the placement

Beautiful day for a nice stroll on the beach with hubby on our 9th wedding anniversary. Great find tftc!

24-Sep-16
Out and about bright and early for a caching trip to Waikanae area today. Having been part way up Paekakariki Hill Road and into Queen Elizabeth Park, Raumati, Kapiti and Waikanae itself. Now time to start heading back home, with a few must do caches on the way.

Short detour of the highway and the cache was quickly found. Not a big fan of the macracapa with its pointy twigs that tend to aim straight for the eyes and ears.

#2725. I picked a pleasant day to plod my way around Pekapeka peering amongst poles and posts for Pete's perfectly positioned plastic pottle perched in a pine*. I am in search of 250 cache finds for September and so set off to sample the delights of the Manawatu. This as the first diversion on the way. First time I have been down this road. No cars on site today so no nudists or naturalists in view today on a cool spring morning. Signed the dry log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for hiding it here.

* not a real pine but a conifer nevertheless.

10-Sep-16
Diverted to here this morning while wending my way to the Manawatu for a day's caching. Quickly found, all in good condition. Signed log, TFTC

Easy find on beautiful Winter's day. Dropped off "Peavey Creek (AK)" Red Jeep Travel Bug - which has made to the Tasman Sea Smile

Cache # 3,199 - A quick find today after a lovely drive. Sun had just gone down, but enough light to retrieve, sign log, and return without a torch. And no muggles around. TNLNSL. TFTC!

Consecutive caching day # 1,115

07-May-16
We did q uick drive down the road to the end turned the car where a muggle was cuttung some grass in front of their house but then parked up by GZ which gave some shelter fron the muggles eyes while i investigated. I located the cache and in my effort to retrieve the branch i was holding onto broke and and i sort of slide down wards, but no harm done , except to tree, and the cache was retrieved, signed and replaced while the muggle was probably totally in aware of my coming and going.
Many thanks for this cache and another smiley face.

14-Apr-16
Took a bit of a detour while headed up to Otaki. Amazed at how busy this dead end road was. There was seven cars parked at game zone. Plenty of dog walkers about. Cache found without any problems. Signed and replaced. Thanks for the cache.

13-Apr-16
Never been out to this beach before, quick easy find. TFTC

Nearly got muggled! There were several cars at the end of the road as it was a lovely day and they were going to the beach. Found the cache in the 3rd tree I checked. The hint was helpful ☺. Left a small dinosaur. Thanks for the cache!

#7588. A nice drive to Te Hapua Road in Te Horo. GZ was all quiet when we visited. Quick find. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. But unfortunately, Svalbard Bush Baby was not in the cache. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

In the area finding a couple of caches. Nice to find a Travel Tag. Never travelled down this road before. Nice spot. Thanks for putting this cache here. All in good order.

21-Feb-16
Picked (excuse me!) this one up on a visit to the coast today. One of my favourite spots along the coastline here, so always happy to have an excuse to hop off the main road and take a detour.
Cache find was straightforward. All in order, log signed, and then re-hidden safely, just as found.
+TB to enjoy the surrounds and sights.

Quick find on the way home this arvo; often ride down here then back up the beach for a morning stretch. TFTC.

15-Feb-16
Thought I should update the cache title and description slightly, tmann's log is quite correct, it is not a pine tree, but a macrocarpa, but macrocarpa didn't fit with the alliteration of the cache title... so have added the asterix...

15-Feb-16
Patience was required to retrieve this one - muggle cars arriving and parking. When the muggles had all disappeared in the direction of the beach, it was a quick grab of the cache, sign and return. Quite a pretty road, nice scenery. Tftc.

Noticed this one published and thought I might as well have a look!

Must have missed something at GZ as no actual pine trees within 500 metres of the cache that I saw.
Plenty of cars just down from the cache at the clothing optional beach entrance.
Co-ords good and nice easy find. SL TFTC
