I decided to stop here on my way home after an afternoon of geocaching. As I approached GZ, I groaned and wondered if I had made the wrong decision and was thinking that it might take longer than expected. Fortunately the coordinates were spot on and the cache was spotted very quickly. The container could do with a replacement as it is quite cracked. TFTC.

After visiting the Fairy Park with the daughter, kids and friend, grabbed this on the way home. Great ruins nearby. Thanks South-West for your fantastic efforts and for contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy. Happy trails, Deanside

Found this one yesterday, along with a few others in the area. Great hiding spot, and an amazing view. TFTC!!

Jinky's birthday, and I'd plotted some caches up around the Brisbane Ranges. A prosciutto ficelle and pecan sticky bun from Born and Bread, along with coffees and we were set to go! First cache of the day, and was it a struggle, not so much for the cache, but a) a total gale blowing, b) rocks underfoot and stability issues, and c) long grass in our face trying to get to the cache, just out of control! Great fun! Left a Geonickel, SL, TFTC

I made my way onto the range for a bit of fun, and found it while hiking up the valley in search of the mythical paper clawed Velociraptor.

After a successful hunt, what better way to celebrate than with a bit of childish frivolity? So I knocked off all but one of the remaining Fun For Kids caches I hadn't yet found.

Which popped me out here, at the southern end.

I won't say I'm a fan of this style of hide, for complex reasons, but I appreciate the smiley, and the view this evening.

Thanks, South-West.

*Sunny Mid-October Date Day Adventure #1*
Out with SueHut for a date day. We were aiming for Bacchus Marsh, but thought a quick detour would be acceptable. This cache is well placed to see Mt Anakie in all its volcanoey glory.
Thanks heaps, South-West!

Lots of long dry grass here, it’s a good thing the fire tower is nearby. If the view from here is lovely, imagine what it’s like from up the top! Found the cache after a bit of careful stepping through the grass, with the odd rock thrown in just for fun. The lid on the container has a hole in it and at some point the contents have gotten wet but everything is dry and safe for now. TFTC

Heading done to Geelong this morning for the 2 events that are on in the area today and then the 2 events near Ballarat tomorrow.
I left home nice and early to hopefully find a few caches in the morning on the way down.
Continuing along backroads that I have never travelled on before I made to the base of the Brisbane Ranges NP.
Now this is a place I must come back to but that is for another day.
Turned down the road and soon spotted the tower, it would be great to drive up there to take in the view of the whole area.
They people up there do such a fantastic job in looking after us and the country side.
Soon located the cache and onto the next one.

Thanks South-West TFTC.

A cool Sunday afternoon was a great time to go and do some caching a little further from home. We have often remarked that we should head down this road, and today, we did. The views were great. We were happy it was cool today as this would be a great spot for wriggly sticks in warmer weather. It took us a little while to find the cache, so we retrieved the GPS from the car to be a bit more accurate than the phone, and we quickly found the cache. Be careful looking for the cache as some rocks are covered by grass, which can make the ground quite uneven. The cache is in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache South-West.

*Cache find # 11372.*

Out and about with buhfuhguh and after the morning we have had, we thought that we had earned a couple of drive-by's on our way to another T4.5 cache.
At first looking at what was in front of us I thought it may have taken longer to find than it did.

**Thanks to South-West for placing this cache.**

With The ring of Swiss cheese coming down we could now catch up with our Metro Mates, so once again I teamed up with Omegaman1971 and headed to the Geelong area to do some of the many labs and several caches in the area. We had a great time exploring the area. Today We started in Geelong but got a little frustrated with suburban caching so we headed to the Brisbane Ranges to do the Fun for kids trail.

This was one of the caches we found today. This was a quicker find than I expected.

Thanks South-West for the cache.

27-Jun-20
Found after a days trip to Fairy Park and we were all feeling a bit knackered after.

A nice easy find here, easier than expected with views over to Mt Anakie. Shame can't access it.

Hi everyone, I just checked this cache The container needs to be replaced on my next visit but the contents are still there and logbook is fine

Headed to Geelong today to take part in the CITO and thought I would tackle the last of the G2Q trail that I needed to find but there were soooo many muggles I decided to head further out into the country side and collect a few remote cache. Not sure how many I found but there were some real treats and I handed out more favourites than usual. Such a great part of the country. TFTC

Another road I've never been along so thanks for bringing us here. Took us a while to get ourselves in the right spot, but that was our fault, not the coords. Even then we fiddle-faddled around until I nearly fell on top of it. Thanks for the whole experience.

A last minute road trip for the day to visit the Ozone wreck (so awesome!) nearby before we (Team Clarmensma - myself, GemmaSistema, neisha07, boo09, LukeSistema & AdamSistema) headed home via a few strategic detours.
A great day had at the beach and caching our way home.

This was a nice quick series that the kids enjoyed helping with - the adults didn't even leave the car for a few! Wink TFTC

A day at the beach with Team Clarmensma (GemmaSistema, AdamSistema, LukeSistema, becca85, neisha07, boo07) had us eating some dinner then looking for a few more caches to find. We decided on the long way home and ended up here! A quick find and off to the next one. Many thanks for the cache

10-Dec-17
Tricky. This is a great spot to hid it! Nearly got caught by a farmer. Hehe

09-Dec-17
After attending the Flash Mob, CITO, and Christmas BBQ Lunch Events, and finding all of the Puzzle Me Easy Series, we came here via the nearby EarthCache.
I must admit Surefoot24 and I were keeping a very wary eye out for fanged scaly reptiles, whilst walking to and from the cache.
Luckily I found it and we were able to make a quick retreat. We certainly didn't wait around to admire the view.
Thanks for placing the cache here, and giving us the opportunity to add another smiley face to our maps.

This one was an adventure in the late afternoon. The phalaris was shoulder high increasing the adventure element. Tricky hiding place but Cybergran found its hiding place.

I was out and about with Biggles Bear for our monthly caching adventure, this time to the Brisbane ranges and surrounds. There was a lot of places to hide a cache, but we eventually located it. There was water in the cache, but the log was fine.

Thanks to South-West for the cache.

03-Oct-17
There were plenty of spots to search here. This wall is a very different construction style to the ones in Victoria's South West and time had its effect. It took a little bit of to and froing before we spotted a bit of the container rather than lifting up every rock we could see. Sharp eyes definitely helped. TFTC

01-Oct-17
Found by caughtatwork at 15:18 on 1/10/2017
I'm not a fan of rock wall caches as too many rocks are moved disturbing the wall even when the cache can be seen without the rocks being moved. Quite a bit of too and fro, but we got there in the end.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for the view of the tower and TrigPoint all the way up there on the hill.

Congrats to Jenno3 on reaching 1600 finds!!! Omg the laughs Jenno3 and I have had today!!! As soon as had I muttered the words 'I don't like these rock places' we found the cache!! Luckily, because I didn't like the idea of finding creepy crawlies as I was looking. Tftc

24-Jan-17
Heading home after a day in the Brisbane ranges, a little worried about the long grass here. Stepping very gingerly. Tftc

28-Dec-16
We were not exactly excited when we saw the terrain at GZ as often it seems to be very much a hit or miss situation. We had a look around for while and are glad to say that this was a hit situation. So the log was signed and all replaced where found. Perserverance pays off sometimes. Thanks to South-West for placing this cache.

16-Dec-16
A quick and easy find as we cache our way through the area today. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.

20-Oct-16
Took a look at GZ and thought that we maybe we would be searching for quite some time but was pleasantly surprised that it did not take us long to find the cache thanks to accurate co-ords. Nice views from GZ, too.
TFTC South-West and also for your ininformative notes - much appreciated.

On a balmy 7 degree night we were in the area to keep up the 100 day streak. Thankfully the rain held up. I can't say this was a smart thing to do in the dark... definitely increased the difficulty. We may or may not have needed a PAF to confirm we were in the right spot with the GPS floating around like it was high on crack.

Another find by the McPhail family

06-Aug-16
I decided to take the long way to dog class today so with the geopups on board we hung a right at Granite Rd and headed out through Anakie. This was our third stop of the day. Finding the cache took some looking... I was amazed how light some of those rocks were. TNLN. TFTC South-West
