Caches MUST have a container and a plastic bag is not considered a container.

It is implied by "Geocache ***containers*** include a logsheet or logbook." part of the guidelines and more directly by GC HQ in various other articles published on the website over the years.

Finding of other caches of a similar type is not a justification that this cache is compliant with the guidelines. (They would receive a similar action on becoming known to a reviewer.)

Also it might be an opportunistic location in your opinion but you must have permission for it to be in that location and see no evidence that you have this permission and I doubt that you could obtain it for this particular GZ.

**From the guidelines " You assure us that you have the landowner's and/or land manager's permission before you hide any geocache, whether placed on private or public property."**

and finally *"Caches are placed so that the surrounding environment, whether natural or human-made, is safe from intentional or unintentional harm."*.

It is clear that this GZ is not meant to have something under it and the hide will cause further damage to where you have placed it as further finders look for it.

I am archiving the cache and will lock the listing so that no further finds can be recorded against this non compliant cache listing.

Please remove the cache from where you placed it under the artificial grass.

As they say, it's no use arguing with the umpire.

This cache has been given "OUT, Retired." Or should I say "OUT, Archived."

4/3/16. 10:03 AM. Cache #3620. Streak day #621.
1st of 5 today - Kellyville, Beaumont Hills, Canley Heights & Oatley.

I came here this morning BEFORE this one got archived; in fact I hadn't updated the cache on Geosphere for a couple of days so hadn't seen the recent logs about the issues concerning this cache. So I was hoping for a find, but there were a few games of primary school touch footy in the area so I needed to be stealthy...at least the nets were mine to search!

After a few minutes, I caved in and phoned a friend, and within minutes I was guided to the controversial container. Meh, not the first time I've seen one of these, so what? Signed it anyway, replaced and headed on to next target, "Meadowlands".

I assume we're yet to see LBW, Run Out and possible Mankad? TFTC.

In response to the request to archive log: I think the request to archive this cache is pessimistic.

1. It technically fits in the guidelines for container type - I have found several of these which have the same container type listed.
2. It is in a waterproof container with clear marking that it is an official geocache ("Congratulations! You’ve just found a geocache—intentionally or not.", etc, etc, "....Visit Geocaching.com or download the free Official Geocaching app to begin geocaching!"
3. Nothing was vandalised during the placement of the cache, it was just placed in an opportunistic spot.

Unless other cachers have an issue with this hide (earlier logs state otherwise, some of whom I spoke with 2 days ago at a nearby Leap Day event), I will leave the listing as is.

And the request to archive log will be deleted as it bluntly spoils the hide which in turn spoils it for future finders.

BB.

I returned to find GZ clear. After a longer than expected search I had cache in hand.

I decided to go for a 2nd cache on this leap day, just before school pickup. Hopefully I would have enough time. As I approached GZ, I spotted a lone figure lurking in the direction of my compass bearing. Either he's lost his keys in the grass or he's a cacher. Nice to meet you ozigeoff.

With greetings out of the way, we both set to work. A few minutes later I came up with the goods and we signed our autographs. TFTC Blundo! Smile

On my way to Bunnings and decided to have a go at this one. I got there and couldn't see it. Thinking deeply, 2 strangers then showed up. With a bit of their help I finally succeeded. Thank you Mr and Mrs Malkovich. Nice to meet fellow geocachers out and about.

I was driving through the gate when the car coming signalled to me and the driver (council bloke I assume) told me he was locking the gate! At 330pm! I backed out and parked well away up the road and walked back. Walked up to the place relevant to the sport and looked - a lot of rubbish - wish I'd brought a bag. Went both sides and found nothing. It had just been found minutes before according to the logs but I got nowhere. I had one idea which showed nothing and I didn't want to damage the playing surface so I didn't continue but I have a feeling I was in the wrong spot. Anyway next thing a car drove past and it was the council bloke who'd reopened the gate and was eyeing me suspiciously. I didn't want to hang around so left before I'd followed my final hunch.
Will be back. Retired - not out. Maybe even retired hurt.

AWESOME! What a creative hide - really enjoyed finding this one which popped up as one of the newest ones closest to home. Was 5TF and made the discovery on Leap Day after making a FTF nearby in Beaumont Hills and finding a few others on my way back home. TFTC Smile [Love your work Blundo!]

This was a hard one to get to as when I had driven past and there were people in the nets and so I drove on. I came back later on and the people in the nets were now playing a real game on the nearby pitch. I went in for a quick find as I had previously rung a PAF to see if I could get this cache while people were in the nets. SL #2442 on streak day #1332 TFTC

3TF, saved for the home commute, cars were just arriving for junior league training and still a warm high 35 degrees for running around, sounds like a plan.
Walked diagonally across the fields to where the arrow started to rotate then in the pocket and made myself useful.
Didn't throw in the towel, like on the CO's last "out" hide and had the container in hand after a few minutes, thanks BB

I have confirmed that yogi.bear is the FTF.

Please allow this cacher to officially write their name on the FTF spot on the log, and for others to record their names in the following lines.

Cheers,
BB.

Was just around the corner when I saw the notification. Thought I'd have a look and found a nice hide.
Wasn't in my car so didn't have a pen, took a pic of the log instead.

Empty log so FTF!

Will have to take a pen back at some stage and update the log

Saw this pop up during my lunch break, wasn't too far away so off I went, parked nice and close and started looking. Hmmmm, a Blundo cache rules out a few of the easy spots so had to think laterally....after some deep thought and observations could it be that flat out simple? ...Yup, it was, had CIH in a few minutes.

Thanks Blundo and ....Hi mate!
