Logs
we found this tough going
certified hard yakka
we are happy to label this treasure as the toughest we have done this year
sure, it is only a few days into January
but it will take a real rugged adventure to knock this off the podium
but let us also say this:
this was a great adventure
we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly
descending through the ferns, this is one of the rare treasures where you can put away the phone and navigate by your senses alone
the churning roar of the cascades can be heard hundred of metres away
navigating is a breeze, the terrain is the real challenge
but
after some improvised landings
and bum slides
and plenty of bruised fronds
we arrived at the falls
and the rock
some part-bouldering, part-gymnastic, part-survivalist moves later, we had our name in the book
and
were ready to tackle the forest all over again

dalerious and I had the pleasure of bagging this awesome cache today .

I was perusing my favourite caching app with the filter set on a particular search. What I was searching for was scarce as hens teeth, but my luck changed and I saw this cache pop up on the radar, and it was sort of close enough to where we were going to be today; well, sort of.
My aim was to sign the log of two caches with the no stealth required attribute, and as it happened, there were only two caches within cooee that we could visit on this day.
We read the cache page of this multi and our excitement grew exponentially . So much unloved, so much adventure, so much awesomeness we couldn't contain ourselves .
Some things are just meant to be, and really we should have stayed at home and got everything ready for our trip to Tasmania, but we were committed to attending an event held by a mate that we put our names down for a while back, and now with the extra lure of this big fish that we intended to fry, it was all in or nothing.
Wow, WOW, yeah WOW! We could not have picked a better time to visit this cache; so many positives, so much excitement. The Creek was flowing like a river, and the decent to gz was at times treacherous. I could picture the Wolf standing on the precipice surveying all before him, and at that moment the Wolf and I became one.
dalerious was searching for a life partner that would be up to the task and appreciate and enjoy his adventurous spirit. I think he found her. I will be by his side, matching it with the best, for what I hope, many more years to come.
We rely on CO's like you Clever Monkey to have the courage to place out caches of this calibre, without over complicating it.
I am like the Wolf, and I am worthy of the Stark name.

Five days shy of five years since its last visitor, catnap777 and I undertook the perilous journey to claim our right and prove us worthy of the name Stark.
Winter is coming....... well at least it felt like it, as our party of two arrived as far as the GeoRig could take us with wipers beating of the rain all the way there.
The route we took was not the easiest one.
With jackets drawn tight we crossed the creek (that had swollen to a raging river) twice. Once at the man made bridge, and again at the one mother nature built a whole lot closer to GZ. But with great adventure comes great reward and with a single minded determination we wound our way down though the thickest (and most slippery) of the rainforest, the sheerest of drops and then the most turbulent of waters to reach the base of the majestic Wolf Rock and the object of our odyssey. From waters edge we two companions scaled the escarpment to stand aloft high upon the Dire Wolf's back and finally break open the seal bearing the ensignia of House Stark that had for so long lay undisturbed.
Our mark inscribed, a record of attainment, and our task was done. The seal and ensignia returned to lay await in silent repose for its next claimants.
After carefully picking our way along the wolf's ridge back, we ascended with joy in our hearts to our awaiting carriage on a much more navigatable bearing.
TFTC Clever Monkey. We truly hope that whatever can be done can be done to keep this great cache alive for other adventures to follow.

I don't have any issues sharing the email I received, I get that by adding the final cords to the cache page as a hint short cuts the requirement to look for the QR code in the city and that you can just venture straight into the bush. Realistically it doesn't make it any easier to get to the cache. I am at a loss however that I am not allowed to just change the difficulty rating and leave the cache active. My understanding is that like FTF, Geocaching HQ does not recognise P81 Grids. Given so many cachers doing P81 put out specific D/T rating caches to fill grids if this was a rare one I am sure there are plenty to replace it by now. I have dropped a .5 of the difficulty level as you still have to find the final cache and it's not all that easy given the possible hides at GZ.
Hi there Steve (Clever Monkey),
The cache GC6BJVD: 'Caches of Ice and Fire - Wolf Rock' (https://coord.info/GC6BJVD) has been drawn to my attention and in particular the log of 11/Apr/2022 which advises. "Given the video feed is giving some people issues, I have updated the page hint with the final cords."
Placing the coordinates for the Final (GZ) in the hint makes it a whole lot easier for seekers to access the cache and effectively reduces the DR of 3.0 to a lower value. This is hardly fair on the earlier finders.
If you are planning to address the issue, please place a Write Note log on the cache page (by 10th July) indicating a date when you expect to have the cache up and running again.
If you are not planning to return the cache to the profile as it was when it was published, then you need to Archive the cache, please.
Thanks for your understanding and cooperation,

Given the video feed is giving some people issues I have updated the page hint with the final cords.
Found a hint at the posted coordinates, which leads to an unavailable youtube video. Unable to find any other hints at coords, and no luck getting CO to share the video as yet. Not sure if the vid is important, a piece is missing (highly muggleable area) or I've just missed the map at the coords despite finding the obvious hint.
No wonder this is a difficult find.
It starts in the most unpleasant of places.
Came here once and the bananas thought that would be enough. Yelled at, spat on by some of the most unpleasant people you could meet. We were loosing. And. It wasn't even quarter time. We were barracking for Fitzroy whose terminal disappointments would rule it unworthy of further membership.
Fortunately the tenants were moved on and the grandstands pulled down.
Only those horrible memories remained.
But we ventured forth. Day 2 to be exact, with remaining roaming persons unable to remember us. Once the doctor did the damage, bananas decided to wait.
Wait so long that it has become seriously unloved, before we ventured further.
So with that, we swooped.
With snow and rain in the air the leeches would be feasting on fruit juice. Plenty took up the offer.
The grandeur of the "Rock" was significant as we approached. It stuck out like proverbial....... So with grand canyons, raging rivers, and hungry fauna beat, we scaled the heights, and won second place amongst those honored. Our 547th second to find. Expect that to be a Victorian record.
In reality it started in a most unpleasant place and the finish could not have been described as favourable, other than a spectacular location. But we give it it's fair due and give it a favourite. For this is why we love this game.

Not Found at 14:49
I stopped in for a look on my way past but after about 30 mins searching I wasn't able to find anything indicating the location of gz at the posted coords.

# I, Rickon Stark, state through means of {FTF} that I am now worthy of the Stark name. #
When I first sought the map to take me to Wolf Rock, I had limited time and my senses were not keen. I came back with Shaggydog, bright illumination, and a little advice on what I could be looking for. It was I that discovered the map, and after a brief perusal soon realised what a mighty challenge now lay before me.
The great journey commenced on this morning. My wagon brought me to a location that could offer convenience in locating Wolf Rock by simply following a water course. I was soon joined in my journey by Osha (a rare non-rotten stick used for balance in the treacherous terrain). My other companions that I would now have wished to accompany me remained in the wagon by my own folly (DeLorme, Garmin, hat).
Osha urged me up from the stream but soon I descended (very steeply) again to behold some falling water. I thought this must be one of the six drops but my map said go another 100 metres.
The distance to Wolf Rock fell very slowly and my folly at bringing only the poor version of the map was being felt. Suddenly the map said 27 metres, at my feet were six little waterfalls, and before me reared Wolf Rock.
Its grandeur left no doubt my journey was over and I proceeded to cross the waters. A climb to the rocks lofty head and hunt about its shoulders yielded a remarkable treasure. The Book of Stark lay enclosed in an encrusted charmed box . With great pride I inscribed my name in the place that was meant for it. I resisted the temptation to swim or consume the waters that swirled about the rock and returned to my wagon, and to conquer Westeros!
Osha's work was done and she stayed in the wild.

This lowly bannerman was with the first Stark when he saw the original Direwolf standing arrest the peak of the mighty rock. It was a cold, stormy, and epic journey filled with blood thirsty creatures as well as beautiful sights that can have only been created by the old Gods.
Those who follow are truly brave souls who will earn the title Stark if they are successful in their quest.
