Heading to Castlepoint for a kayaking weekend, made a stop here to get the first cache of the trip. It helps if you read the GPS correctly as I drove from one end of the car parking area and back again, passing the cache hide three times before realising just where it was hidden. Just as well nobody else was around, they might have wondered what I was up to......!!? Quickly found, log signed and replaced back in position. Cache all good. Thanks for highlighting this location and little bit of history.
A nice quick find thanks.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. It was a great weather most of today, with the threatened rain starting mid afternoon. Mostly just showers though. Today we cruised around the Wairarapa which was cool.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Spent too long looking at the gate amd forgot to use the gps was a quick find once we used the gps! Tftc
A little bit of searching for this one but not too difficult, signed and replaced, all in good condition, Tftc.
I didn't know the history of the pay stations so thank you! Easy find. Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC
It's Valentine's Day today.
What should a good Husband do?
* Spend it with his @WonderfulWifey?
* Or go away on a 'date' with two of her three other 'Husbands'?
The date won out (sorry darling!) and BoardGamesHusband, StaycationHusband, and RealHusband convened for an assault on archived Skindo caches in the Wairarapa (plus a couple of PWGT and other randoms thrown in for good measure - like this one!).
To try to claw back some W.A.F. points, we did take SkyCraneKid (FKA. EtherMaster) along for the trip. Not sure if it was sufficient though...?
> log signed as TECatS (for TwigNZ, Etherlord Clan and the Seagnoid)
[I'm channelling my inner Yeetrees... I'm a month late in logging this! ]

Has anyone read the scedule of charges here? The cost - a shilling and sixpence, I think it was, for a horse and cart is fair enough, but a penny for sheep AND goat? Where am I going to get enough goats to move my flock of sheep? How about a charge for a single sheep? Or a sheep OR goat? The cache was straightforward though
Teamed up with Etherlord and Ether Master from the Etherlord Clan and TwigNZ, for a raid in Skindo land. We arranged to meet in Masterton, swapped into one car and headed south. The aim was to get the 5 PWGTs south of here, and to collect Skindo's achived caches, especially puzzles, along the way. although we did get a few others as we were "just passing".
But time conspired against us. Or maybe it was skindo himself, as we only got 50 caches, and only as far south as Greytown. We have made a tentative plan to be back in a couple of months to to come back and work this area again.
All logs signed as TECATS - TwigNZ, Etherlord Clan and the Seagnoid.

Having been over here in the Wairarapa only a few weeks ago, I wasn't expecting to be here again so soon. But the chance to have a whole day out caching with friends was too good to miss. Between us we hatched a plan to get as many archived Skindo caches as we could, and any others we were going to be driving right past. My main roles today were as driver and searcher, whilst happily leaving the navigation to the others who were able to use their GPSRs and programs other than the official app to see the caches I couldn't.
My apologies for the generic logging, but anything notable will be commented upon. For convenience all logsheets today were signed TECATS (for TwigNZ, Etherlord Clan and The Seagnoid) regardless of whether any 1 of us may have already have found a cache on a previous trip.
This Trad was a simple Park n Grab. A nice quick find at GZ, and finding no issues with this one the log was quickly signed and the whole thing was replaced as found.
Thanks for placing this cache, and the history lesson.

Quick find here, no hint required. Interesting story, TFTC Yeetrees.
We are coming to the end of our little North Island road trip. Today was Napier to Greytown, and tomorrow will be the ferry home. We have enjoyed every moment of it, especially the cool little towns we have visited that we didn’t know much about. So many of them have hidden gems and nice character. Today’s highlights were the Hasting Sunday Farmers Market, a smaller (but also quite cool) little market in Ōtāne, and a bit of Viking carry on in Norsewood. In between, a few caches. But with so much ground to travel and the prospect of enjoying a sunny evening in Greytown looming, we got a few here and there, not far from the main road. Thanks all COs, no DNFs today and all caches in good shape. All caches signed RG1972 and ricardinho, or ric.nz if space was at a premium.

We've stopped here before for a cache. Glad it's got a new one as it's an interesting spot and deserves to have a cache. No problems making the find.
Thanks for putting this here for us to find

Our 1st find for 2021! Just spent a beautiful New Year's Day - swimming and picnicking at the nearby river. Lovely spot, TFTC.
CACHE FIND #10 — forgot to log this! was a beautiful day for a cache with another newbie, easy find on the way home! TFTC
Catching up our logs from a weekend in Martinborough. Found with little blue hen. Had trouble finding the right coinage in old money so left an IOU. Tftcsl
No cash just dash. Catching up our logs from a weekend in Martinborough. Found with bkj97. Tftcsl
Nice easy cache to start my day. Interesting bit of history and showing toll bridges are nothing new. TFTC
This one was a bit challenging for the team. Our advice is to look where the gps is placed.
Hmmm, great spot, and interesting history. A hint might be useful for people who don't want to rummage around in roadside rubbish.
Thought this was going to be an easy find, but once there, couldn't find the cache. Felt sure I was in the right place.
Day four of my road trip from Auckland to Nelson in my newly acquired convertible cachemobile. Finding a few caches along the way. Today was mostly spent in the countryside around Masterton / Carterton / Martinborough. No problems here. Cache found in the first place I checked. TFTC, Biggles.
It's Canterbury Anniversary weekend so JDScout and I organized cheap flights up to Wellington awhile back. The plan is to drive to Greytown on Friday and base ourselves there. Thanks Yeetrees for placing this geocache 7930 find for me.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

We were staying in Upper Hutt for the week over Easter break and todays main objective was Skindo's numbers run from Hinakura to Gladstone. Now that that is done were heading to Greytown with whatever daylight is left to grab some high favourited caches. What a pretty welcome sign. A nice quick find and sign here. Thanks for the effort involved in placing and creating this cache for all of us to enjoy.
7989. On the way over the hill to stay a couple of days in Carterton with sister/sister-in-law Raewyn. Stopped off here to try our luck. Found very quickly. Thanks. Rodney and Iris.
A quick find as I make my way back to my Masterton hotel. All quiet at GZ so no muggle worries.

Found cache on the ground at GZ. signed log and returned to where I thought it was meant to be. Grabbed on our way to Masterton. Tftc!!
22304 Traveling through New Zealand to see nice people and places. Also to find some geocaches.
Today we visited Wellington mountains . Nice walk through the botanic garden, nice view on victoria mountain. Than to the 5-2000 cache on the other side of the water.
From there we dorve to Masterton, stopping many times for caches and lookouts on the road. In featherton the Locomotive museum and other caches.
Most caches were found quite quickly. A few took more time. Some were too humid to write clearly. Muggles did not watch what we were doing.
Yeetrees TFTC and the fun it brought us. Theo

After marching on the main street of Carterton as part of today’s rolling industrial action we wanted a cache to go with lunch. Since this one's cache page mentioned a picnic spot we thought we'd drive down for a seat in the shade. Turns out the seats were in the full sun, in the cemetery, but we didn't mind. We had a lovely time enjoying the breeze and the various headstones, than turned our attention to the cache. That was a quick find with everything in good order.
Thank you for the cache.
Thank you for the cache.
Day 2 of the Wellington Mega adventure with KJR and we are on our way to find and log a challenge cache series and this was on the way a nice and easy park and grab TFTC
In Wellington for the Mega. Day #2 of our geocaching adventure and off to Martinborough with Gadget169. Found this one on our way back to Upper Hutt after finding most of the challenge caches TFTC
Another interesting local history "bite" as I cruise around the Wairarapa for a couple of days before the Wellington Mega.
Thanks for placing & maintaining this cache, Yeetrees.

#713. GB Leader and I have spent today on a caching spree, starting in Featherston, then doing the triangle to Martinborough, Carterton and Greytown, and finally (as the wind starting really whipping up), back to Featherston. There were some really tricky and quirky caches around. Great fun! Final tally for the day: 23 finds (a new daily record for me), 3 DNF’s and one “not sure.”
Interesting history around the cache. Thanks Yeestrees. Took a little Smurf from the cache, with the intention of eventually creating a cache for it, like the ones around Darfield by gracie7+mum. #13 of 23 today.
