Two pairs of eyes, gpsr + phone, expanded our search out. Still no good. Thanks for placing. Perhaps next time we're up this way.
With lockdowns and border closures forcing another interstate Mega to be abandoned by us Victorians, we were lucky enough to still be allowed to hatch a plan with The Tritonz and micaparamedic to console ourselves by organising a three night trip to Portland instead. The steady rain arrived with us all on Thursday afternoon, and by Friday morning we were briefly reconsidering our plans, however that brief moment didn't last long and we stuck it out for what turned out to be a fabulous couple of days caching.
This cache was found on our way out. It was nearly not found, as we had taken some time to search around. A thorough reading of previous logs gave us a little hint of where to focus on, and a little poking around eventually uncovered it. TFTC shelley roberts.

In the area for work for a few days, actually going home sooner due to the 4th lockdown.
But had sometime for caching before hitting the road.
This was one the caches I did whilst here, cheers for the cache.

Took some time to find and even when I found it, it was a hopeful guess — good hunt — couldn’t sign as I left pen in car and rain was increasing
Ahhhh these bloody steps again. Came back with reinforcement after a hot tip, and "bang". Came up with the goods straight away. Absolutely beautiful view, but sadly no whales today. TFTC
A cool stair case and short cut. There are some decent cliffs around here. I managed to find an old artifact by "that" tree but it was not the prize. We continued the hunt and came up with the goods.
Thanks to shelley roberts and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]
After quite some time the sound of success by Astro as he came up with the goods. TFTC
TFTC took a little while but we got there. A beautiful spot. Thanks for sending us here
Visiting the area on a mini holiday from Bendigo. No find despite searching for a while: went back through previous logs for hints but that didn’t help.
Had looked twice for it today with no luck. Messaged the owner for a bit of extra help...with the extra hint, still took a bit of searching but found it eventually! Hidden pretty well
A 5 day caching run, over the 2020/2021 New year period saw me leave on the Thursday the 31st of December and travel to the Brisbane Ranges, down to Warrnambool, Port Fairy, Portland, the up to Heywood, Dunkfield and Horsham, camping along the way. On the Saturday I met up with my caching partner, ilukaperi at the home of choocknchunk, where we spread the coronavirus around as much as we could. Enjoyed some 4wding around the Mt Cole area before making our way back home on the Monday.
So I spent New Year’s Eve by myself on the shores of Lake Elingamite, sipping on a glass (or plastic cup) of red wine and watching the sunset on 2020. Good riddance I say! I got up early and cached my way from there, through Warrnambool, Port Fairy and Portland before finding my camp for the night at Annya Camp. A lot of variety of cache types and some good ground covered too.
Wow, was this a hard one.
I hunted around for a good half an hour before resorting to messaging the CO. With no immediate reply (and not they I expect one either) I hunted around further with still no more luck. So i resorted to a PAF, a friend who had recently moved into the area and had also recently found this cache!
Confirming my initial thoughts of where it would be, in my mind I resolved that it seems to be gone. But whilst chatting to her about other things, I went back over the location and after digging a few centimetres of dirt, I exhumed the cache.
That’s some pretty convincing camo!

Excellent hide. Found your cache shelley roberts, thank you so much for placing it.
It took me two attempts at these steps and a push in the right direction from CO but can finally claim a find. TFTC Shelley roberts Great views from nearby cache location and a good physical workout too
A sneaky little hide in this secluded glade.
Read a few logs before ah ha moment.
Thanks

What a stunning beach road along here. I trudged up whilst the family checked out the beach. Quick find. Many thanks for the cache.
We have just moved to Portland and now the boxes are unpacked today we started to explore the area towards Narrawong.
Coordinates were spot on despite the trees.
Thanks for the cache shelley roberts

Unfortunately the geo kids where too cold to continue the search. And geo toddler came close to slipping in down with the leaves a few times so this was a dnf for today.
Day 161 (Saturday 6th) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Portland today. A total of 2 for the day and 2755 for the trip. TFTC
Frustrating one this! Great little climb up the stairs but no luck. I did bump into a local who knew what I was looking for there and although she knew what to look for, neither of us could find anything. Could be a lost item?

Last find of the day on our way to Portland. There was a sign warning of a local Joe Blake. But I didn't see anything. Cache found after a few minutes.

In town for Chrissy, what an awesome place for a cache. Thanks for bringing us here. Tftc
Looked for a ggood 15 mins but couldn't find it. i did find a smooth oval rock about 10cm across that seemed to be out of place for the area around where the pin was but there was nothing underneath it.
We have made an 6 week road trip trough Australia en did some caching just for fun. We could log some and some we couldn’t! But we enjoyed the views and surroundings. Al thanks for placing the caches.
Took a little to find this little sneaky geocache.
We took in The views of the area that we were about to tour.

Found on a day out exploring and caching, the weather started to clear up a bit and we saw this one near a holiday house we had stayed about 6 years ago. Nearly gave up after a bit of a search, but one final push and the geokids eyes did the trick!! TFTC
Replaced log today 6.7.19.
Thought it was funny that this is actually the original cache not the replacement i put here last year!

Found it. Took a while! Log book extremely wet and unable to write on! Beautiful view
Great excuse to stop whilst doing stairs .. needs new paper to write on ..
We quickly stopped off on our way back to Melbourne.... searched for 5, no luck, but boy what a view! Thanks for bringing us to this beautiful spot!
Travelling from Portland to Melbourne.
Found it, but unable to sign. Log is too wet.
Thanks for taking us here to enjoy the views!

Great find! TFTC. Log book appeared wet so we didn't remove it from the plastic.
Found after a quick search around the general area as the trees had the coordinates bouncing a bit. Cache Log was soon in hand very wet and was a stuck inside the bag. Fabulous views, we could see for miles. TFTC
We found something that looks like it could have been attached to it but no actual cache
Quite a blustery day to be out but a great little find. I had sooo much trouble trying to get the log out to sign this one off. A favourite for the lovely view discovered along the way
Cache has been replaced again as old one was missing
Please replace carefully in the same spot, there is only one place to put it, you will understand when you find it.

Time to head home from a few day's caching and diving in Portland.
BettyBoo3747 and I collected a few caches on the way.
A rather steep short cut, although we saw some locals use it coming up from the beach.
We found the cache and then went to have a look at the gates of the old property.
Thanks, Robmc.
