Spent a while looking to no avail. My phone seemed to be getting confused about how far away I was from GZ. I will come back another time and try again.
(# 5695). A flying visit to Taranaki primarily to get the TMGT geotour caches. Day 2 was to drive from New Plymouth to Hawera then back on home directly. A quick find after waiting for a break in the traffic. Everything in order. TFTC
The search was on here to find this elusive one. Finally got it snagged but the container had a hole in the lid so everything was wet, just like us. Arranged a replacement with RITR log to keep this one rolling along. Cheers.
Day 5- Wednesday 18 December. Hawera district again including Eltham and Manaia.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

It's now raining heavily. I hunted at GZ getting nowhere, getting drenched. Taybeedragon used her geonose and found the cache 10m away. She got somewhere, but still got drenched. Maybe the error is due to the cloud and rain. And the cache lid has a crack in it. As expected, the inside was very manky. Replaced the whole cache, new florist's paper log. Well, we are wet now. May as well keep caching...
Day five of Taybeedragon's and my big 3 week circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki, starting from Palmerston North. Today is Hawera to Eltham - oh yes, it's going to be a slow trip!!
Highlights:
* 3 weeks, 536 caches
* Mt Taranaki had been removed for washing, which was a bit of a shame. Even after it had been returned we were only allowed to see it for it was less than half an hour a day.
* High percentage of caches with crappy coordinates
* Amazing Pukekura Park
* AMAZING Pukekura Park light show!
* Pukeiti Gardens
* Lots of cache maintenance!
***[======== NZ Mega 2020 ========](http://nzmega.com)***
Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](https://coord.info/GC87777) - you won't want to miss it!

once i got to the gz took a little bit of searching for this one ,log was a bit wett but got it signed .
A quick zip across the road to the parking spot and then a hunt around with TG being the lucky one.
Up here for an awesome weekend jaunt with Team Gators, TheWanglers and Karma Reprint to do a loop of the mountain in 48 hours grabbing as many caches as we could while having a good laugh. Logs signed as some derivative of (KT)^2
Cheers shellbellz for the cache

A planned geocaching trip to the USA was shelved (but is all go for this time next year!) so we came up with a weekends Plan B. Taranaki with TheWanglers, KarmaReprint and KiwiMoose - logs signed (TK)^2 or a variation of. A really fun trip with the forecast rain and thunder seemingly always in the distance but never hindering us. A really fun weekend.
Arrived in New Plymouth; grabbed the rental and hit the road running - aiming for Hawera....
An expanding search soon netted the cache...eeewwww...flicked some snails at TW ha ha ha...

A quick and easy find, coords were a wee bit out. Cheers
Day one, New Plymouth airport to Hawera.
A long weekend cache raid to Taranaki. The weather didn't stop us doing anything, and we had fun times. Logs were signed with a combination of KT and 2 depending one which of did the signing. Thanks Kiwi Moose, Team Gaters and TheWanglers for a choice time.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

A plan was hatched for a few of us to head to America for a Mad Mission. With life getting a bit crazy a downsized trip was organised as I had sorted childcare for the cachelets. The big America trip is now set for next year. We asked a member of our crew if we could go to Nelson, Dunedin, Auckland, Wellington, Hastings the answer all came back "I don't have many to find there". We left it to that member to suggest an area. He came up with New Plymouth and a loop around the mountain. That's a go from the rest of us. We sorted puzzles, gpxs, motels and a car and hit the ground running. The forecast was doom, gloom, rain, hail and lightning. Oh well, sounds exciting. We had very little of any of the weather that affected our caching and found we had all overpacked (thank God!).
Day 1: We grabbed the car and started caching at 2pm and made it to Hawera after 8pm settled into our accommodation and had a bit to eat and hit the town before calling it quits for the day.
Heaps of snails!!!
Thanks for the cache shellbellz.

Spent some time looking for this but gave up as we had to keep moving to get to New Plymouth
Quick find, when using the title as a hint.. It's somewhat off.
Suggested coords:

For a difficulty 1 cache, there were certainly lots of places this one could be. Eventually after a good 10 minutes looking, I finally spotted it. TFTC.
Day 3 of my road trip for WENZ Mega. A late start from Wanganui after taking with my cousin for ages, and will end the day in New Plymouth.
This afternoon sure has been a trip down memory lane.
The building on the rhs travelling into Eltham was at one point a wood craft studio. We called in one day and all 4 of us were allowed to choose something (must have been a good year on the farm). I got a somo cube which I spent many happy hours trying to, and usually succeeding in, creating the objects on the sheet. I still have the cube some 40 years on.
A little searching had the box in hand. Wet inside, but the logbook is OK. The card promoting a girls organisation that both the CO and I belong to is sodden and needs replacing.
Thanks for the smilie shellbellz.

Finally took the time to stop for this cache. All safe and sound, but a bit damp... but what did I expect in Eltham!
A quick find whilst passing on route to Stratford. Thank-you shellbellz for placing this cache for our enjoyment. Out caching with Will of the Wisp on our “Round the World in 80 Days” trip to celebrate retirement. Signing logs with our names or initials depending on space. Greetings from England, TFTC.
Auf dem Weg von Wellington nach New Plymouth sammelten wir die Dosen am Wegesrand ein. Diese konnten wir gut finden. Danke fürs Legen.

After turning back to face north and a couple of goes I found it. Passing lane temp closed due to road works so made traffic a little more spread out. YFTC
We're doing an Eltham mission and sadly this was the only one we couldn't find maybe next time
Returning from a meeting at Hawera and took the opportunity for a quick park & grab. TFTC.
Today it was time to locate and sign off the caches in and around Eltham and Normanby.
Had to wait for a lull in the traffic both in locating and replacing this one.
Cheers for the cache.

I’ve been meaning to stop at this one for quite some time. Today however had me in this exact location for a work activity and I noticed that there had been a bit of vegetation control done in the area. I could hardly pass up the chance to retrieve and log the cache so I quickly nipped back to the vehicle for a pen and scrawled my entry in the log.
we had trouble finding which right bush was the right bush, but got there in the end
Heading to New Plymouth for a work seminar this evening and taking advantage of the drive to collect a few of the new caches that have appeared since my last work trip.
Anther great area to pullover and park. Wandered back to the gz where the cache was quickly in hand. TFTC

Another summer visit to locate the unfound caches and turn them into smilies. Quick find here and back on the road TFTC.
Used the other cacher's co-ordinates and had a discussion about which one was on the right but quickly found it.
The published coordinates didn't seem to take me anywhere that fitted the hint. I gave W.E.K.A.'s ones a go and I soon discovered the treasure.
Nice quick find using clue. Elthan certainly is anice little town. Thanks for the cache.
We looked around the coordinates for a while, before ignoring them and looking in a logical place. Our coordinates were S39 26.593 E174 17.875. TFTC
Took the long way home after the Mega. finding lots of caches in new areas. TFTC
Found as we were heading south for home it was lying out in the open when we arrived so signed the log and replaced more where the hint directed you too and then on our merry way tftc
Well its a dot day and I am on the road so a quick park and grab is required, this one I have not found in the past, having wandered around the area phone in hand, this time it was straight to the correct area, and a cache in hand. Sometimes the easy are hard and the hard easy.. Mission accomplished, this one is a wrap.TFTC! Blenheim Bear

Really hard to get a good break in traffic to get this done today but got there. Tftc
Thankfully a quick find. Always feel like a nong sitting on the side of a busy road! Tftc
Up this way for the weekend and heading up to the Stratford Mountain House for lunch and caching on the way there and back. First cache of the day which was a quick find. Thanks for the placement shellbellz.
Gps way off, put the phone down and thought about the hint, soon had it in hand. Tftc
Out this way for the "Get Outdoors Day' at Lake Rotakare, so did a couple of caches in Eltham, a quick and easy grab, tftc shellbellz
A late night stop on our way to New Plymouth. Took us way longer to find the cache than should of. Took a pet hippo, yay! Left a little something. TFTC
Started looking in the obvious area, then realized the GPS was indicating further away so wandered off following the arrow. But didn't have any luck at the indicated GZ so ended up going back where we were originally, & there was the cache.
Left a pet rock - a hippo.
Thanks for welcoming us to Eltham with a cache shellbellz

Stopped in to grab this one on my way to visiting a friend. I struggled to find this one, searching under many items matching the clue...was just about to give up then rethought about the cache name...and there it was about 15m from where my GPS was pointing. TFTC
Found on our April Holidays Road Trip. Day one, Wellington to Onaero.
I'm the driver, but sometimes I have to be the cache finder as well. TFTC.

Banian and I found this cache on our autumn northern roadtrip- where we did a circuit of the north island from Wellington right up to Raglan, then across to Napier through Taupo, before heading home, finding masses of caches and discovering a plethora of unique and interesting locations.
I couldn't find the cache so Banian came to assist- found it immediately. TFTC

We felt very exposed here with the traffic zooming past but in reality most would have been to intent on getting somewhere to give a thought to people looking around here. Thank you belatedly, for the cachce.
