Sounds like the container has suffered at the hands of the weather again. I'm in self-isolation so not able to maintain this at present, but will pick up the remains of the container when I am able to get out.

27-Mar-20
This geocacher reported that the container is damaged.

Just out for a drive to pick up a few unfound caches in the area. Have never actually noticed this 'installation' before, but then it doesn't seem that arty so perhaps I had just never recognised it as such! Intrigued to see what it looks like lit up - it may redeem itself, lol. Not many options once at GZ so was pleased to make a pretty fast find. However, the cache is in a pretty bad shape and has deteriorated to the point it looks like litter. Will raise a NM log as it really needs some CO TLC Smile Luckily I recognised it for what it was and was able to add my name to the log ok Smile Thanks for bringing me to this interesting spot. Definitely something you can easily dismiss and not look at.

I was expecting Steve McQueen to jump over on a motorbike

02-Jan-20
Out for a night time walk with the family and as we are staying close by decided to make our way to this one. Took us a while to work out what we were looking for but a read of previous logs we were able to locate what we were looking for. Thanks for this one.

06-Oct-19
Out on the bike today to tackle some caches in the swan valley. Had to do a broad search for this one and found the cache with no issues TFTC

Found it but the paper is soaked and needs replacement! It seems the zip lock doesn’t stay together anymore

24-Apr-19
Paper has completely been soaked through- needs a replacement please!

20-Apr-19
We had to go over the whole.. structure.. twice but we got it TFTC R0gue

12-Dec-18
A quick find.
TFTC R0gue this is find # 5559 for us.

04-Nov-18
Not an easy find, but eventually found it

23-Oct-18
In answer to the title... a firm maybe. It did appear to have lights so it might qualify as art at night? The log is soaked and was difficult to remove and sign. Thanks for the placement.

08-Oct-18
Stopped by today and picked up the old container which has definitely suffered from the weather. Replaced with a new container and new log sheet, ready for more finding!

30-Sep-18
Found after search and reading previous logs. Cache "container" needs replacing and could not sign log as paper is mush. Fabulous and devious cache when it was new.

30-Sep-18
Cache found but we couldn't sign because of the state it's in. Needs to be replaced. TFTC!

30-Sep-18
Found it.

I asked the city of Swan what this structure was, and they told me it was public Art, this was back in 2013, so I assume it is finished?

Didn't sign log as notes were shredded. I assume the container has been damaged and needs replacing.

I also always wondered what this construction is supposed to be. I think it is in fact art.

A friend said it is a giant metal grapevine support thingy. Because this roundabout is at the 'entrance' to the Swan Valley I think this might be correct.

P.S. This cache needs serious maintenance. Log bock wet, nearly destroyed.

03-Jun-18
With not too much caching done by us recently we decided to rectify that and made plans to head north and cache our way towards the Swan Valley area. We left home nice and early and collected this cache along the way. Cheers and TFTC.

G’day there R0gue, I was in this area today and found your cache Is It Art??? GC6CTDA. I added my name to the log book at 11:09 am on 3 June 2018. A huge thanks to you for placing this cache here for us (and others) to find!

This cache find brings our total find count to 9668. Woohoo!!

09-Feb-18
Spotted something in the first place I looked but discounted it and searched all the other “locations”. On coming back I realised the item was the cache... very clever.
Can’t help but feel a plaque or something similar is needed to explain what this structure is all about.
Thanks R0gue FTC.

01-Feb-18
Finally found this one on my birthday too. Thanks ROgue

18-Jan-18

A day out for the younger Benson boy and mum. We decided to visit the taxidermy museum and check out some caches nearby.

Used a stick to avoid the spiders

TFTC like another finder I thought it was a piece of rubbish Smile

19-Nov-17
I actually technically found it before Shortie27 but didn't pick it up as I thought it was a piece of rubbish lol. TFTC

12-Nov-17
Took a while to find this one but at first I thought it was rubbish. I pulled it from the hiding spot and lo and behold it was the cache. It isn't wet any more so I signed the log. TFTC

11-Nov-17
found with shortie27 and thegrimreaper22

20-Aug-17
The log was too wet to remove from the cache so we left our sticker. Sorry we didnt have a spare log with us today.

16-Aug-17
After a bit of searching. Didn't open and write as it was wet and we're scared of spiders!!!

29-Jul-17
Thank you! I headed out to Midland on this rainy morning, and stopped here for a bit of caching. Good thing I had my wellies in, the ground was soaked. I am not sure what this thing is either - does it light up at night?
Cache found but was very wet. Did the best I could to soak up the water, but in this weather I am not sure it will have done much.

20-Jul-17
TFTC - clever hide. Logbook is very wet due to the massive amounts of rain

Not so cold this morning and the rain at bay - a great day to be out caching. Wasn't the quickest of finds but persevered and was rewarded with a smiley. Thanks R0gue

Clever hide!

21-May-17
Found it despite the spiders

23-Apr-17
We wre doing the Swan Valley series and side tarcked to dod this one. Nice hide, took us awhile SL TFTC.
Not to be tackled if you are an acrophobic.

28-Jan-17
Dnfc too many scary spiders this late x at night

19-Jan-17
R0gue, I found your Is It Art??? dry and healthy Smile. SL TFTH. Image shows: Is It Art??? Looks like a row of offset X’s to me Smile.

08-Jan-17
I don't know is it? I guess art is in the eye of the beholder. Would like to come back past at night time to see what it looks like lit up. Tftc

08-Jan-17
Still plenty of spiders. Clever hide thanks Rogue

25-Nov-16
I did this in the dark, my trusty inspection mirror helped. I hate spiders. TFTC

13-Nov-16
Rogue, you Rogue. No wonder I hate geocaching with the mobile App. I much prefer my trusty Garmin. I`ll be back... Too many 4 wheel muggles too.

06-Nov-16
Headed out for a day of caching with Skippy 46. We only had one DNF for the day and the rest were found quite quickly with a few that took a bit of searching, Not sure if I think this is art but after a bit of searching through the spider webs the cache was soon found. TFTC R0gue

06-Nov-16
Took a couple of sweeps. I was looking for something different but ooh yeh made the find.
I guess you could call it Art, I'll have to see it lit up at night to make a final decision.

Mr Luna Maya & myself are having a 3 day getaway in the beautiful Swan Valley. Just 2 quick caches today while we were settling in to our camping site Big Grin The "artwork" does seem a bit random. Cache eventually found & log signed. Actually it took us longer to cross the road in all of that traffic than it did to find the cache. Thanks Rogue Cool

01-Oct-16
Easy find second time round with no workmen across the road TFTC Rogue

Hi there R0gue.

We found your cache **"Is It Art???" **at 10:51:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 14576.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area. We usually start the day off by nominating a cache some distance away from our camp site and then take a route mainly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. We started the day off by traveling across town to visit some friends who were passing through Perth on their way from Melbourne to the South West of WA Today we ended up finding 6 & DNFing 0.

Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels. Is it art? We don't think so. We think the local council wasted ratepayer's money when they commissioned this.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge.

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny.

Just stuck my hand in and found it. Pure luck. Good hide. www.thesoloavocado.com

Good question. You would hope it's a bit more inspiring at night. Missed the cache on a quick initial pass thinking it was a nano, but picked it up without trouble on a second more thorough look. TFTC R0gue.

30-Jul-16
At the markets saw this close by. Passed a team that said that they couldn't find! Not what I was expecting, great cache! Tftc.

25-Jul-16
What a fantastic hide, one of the best we have come across, although tricky a relatively quick find, awarding a favourite TFTC

24-Jul-16
A very late log, found with parkacruz and piknik15 but we never logged online which we are now rectifying TFTC

24-Jul-16
Logged under Mummy & Daddy's name smileyjims but I have my own online name now, I found this cache with them and wrote in the log book with them TFTC

20-Jul-16
Great co-ordinates made this one a quick easy find, or I might have been searching every one of them. Art? Looks like the beginnings of a bridge, lol. Signed log and replaced as found. Thanks for the nice hide Steph.

TFTC

Found this about a week ago on our way out to Henley Brook to catch up with a mate.

Was a relatively quick find of a well made and well thought out cache that could cause some problems of you don't have your caching eyes or hands working.

Thanks R0gue, I need to find a few more
Of your caches. Thanks

17-Jul-16
Also I don't think it's art, but I think the owner does!!

17-Jul-16

DNF today.... Sad now.... But I will return and conquer the hide!!!!

tftc R0gue quick easy find tody while passing by the area.

02-Jul-16
Lovely sunny day so we continued where we left off last week Found it vey quickly but I was not expecting to find this. Thanks R0gue for this one

19-Jun-16
Thanks for placing this cache R0gue The rain was a coming so called this a DNF for us . We will be back

13-Jun-16
Following the 2 recent DNFs I checked in on this one, and it was still exactly where I placed it, ready for finding.

06-Jun-16
Had a good poke round using a mirror but couldn't see any cache.

28-May-16
My mother reckons this maybe represents the things grapevines are grown on but who knows?

Too many spiderwebs and descending darkness - will have to return with better tools.

22-Apr-16
On our way home from Whiteman Park this was one of the caches we found on the way. Found this one in the first spot I looked, but just not the first time lol Razz This was a nice hide & definitely won't be getting muggled anytime soon... TFTC R0gue [^]

18-Apr-16
Not wanting to enter the debate, I'll just say what a wonderful hiding job you did! Smile TFTC

02-Apr-16
Having logged a dnf a week or 2 ago and being assured that it was indeed still there, another search was needed. This time I'm happy to say that looking at exactly the same spot revealed what was unnoticed last time. A favourite from me for stumping us and hiding it so well.

02-Apr-16
Second time lucky. Well spotted by accompanying Acachea. All good. A nudge-nudge wink-wink also helped. Regarding "Art". They say it's in the eye of the beholder. Well I saw X after X after Y etc.. This beholder categorised it as non-art, an opportunity for the "in crowd" to go into raptures about the merits of the structure that only the enlightened can see. Oh well.... Have a fave

28-Mar-16
This took WAY longer than expected, partly due to us having preconceived notions as to what we were looking for. Muggle hubby finally jagged it after a 15 min hunt. TFTC Smile

28-Mar-16
Cool cache.

23-Mar-16
I checked in on the cache tonight, and it still remains exactly where I placed it. Happy hunting! Cool

23-Mar-16
Third DNF for the day. Not good. Scratched around for ages with Mrs H and Acachea. Hands went where hands shouldn't go. Maybe another day. Thanks anyway.

23-Mar-16
X - didn't mark any spot for us. Even with the new coordinates, a torch, a stick, 6 hands (3pairs), good daylight and 3geobrains, we couldn't find it.
Y - posses the question as to why we couldn't find it when it's not really one that would likely be muggled.
Z - after 3 finds and 3 dnf's, it's time to call it a day. Getting tired!! Zzzzz
Hoping someone else finds it to prove that it is indeed still there.

I rode east to log this find before heading to Reid Highway to watch the UCI race for a few hours. Already getting hot so I was grateful for a pleasant tail wind on my ride home. Plenty of flat tyres; about a dozen just on the 500m stretch of highway that I could see. Think I heard the f bomb used at least 100 times in the hour and a half I was watching....agro motorists who wanted to cross the highway but couldn't!!! Anyway, back to the cache....my GPSr showed 3m at GZ so I think the updated coordinate good. I went to Sculptures by the Sea during the week and this installation would blend in nicely. I think it is called "X marks the spot". Thanks for the cache ROgue.

Coordinates changed from:
S 31° 52.530 E 115° 58.529

Coordinates changed to:
S 31° 52.537 E 115° 58.529

Distance from original: 42.7 feet or 13 meters.
Thanks for the updated coords SpatialRiq, my GPS has been playing up lately. I have checked on GE as well, and hopefully this is closer. There's not too many places to check anyway Wink

Woohoo *FTF* @ 8:15am

I drive past this sculpture almost twice a day on the way to and from work, have even contemplated putting a cache here myself but never got around to it.

Saw this published just as I arrived home last night. Wasn't keen to head back so left it for this morning. Took a while to track down as it was a little further from my GZ that I was expecting. Surprised to find a blank log! Log signed and was on my way to work.

My coords were S.540 E.529. TFTC.
