A beautiful place for a walk, enjoyed seeing the bright carvings as I wandered around. A quick find of the nicely hidden cache (container could do with replacing as it's missing the lid, but someone has added a replacement log and it was nice and dry), TFTC
While I was busy wondering why kimmy had continued up the trail when it said off the trail she had it in hand
Second quick find on a walk out. The lid is missing on this so found an extra small friend when pulling the log out TFTC
Thanks trails trails trails for placing these caches for all of us to enjoy.TN, added waterproof log and replaced as found, TFTC
Trouve ! / Found it ! 4478me cache trouve.Merci wb1116 pour la cache 4478th cache found.Thank you wb1116 for the cache
Started looking for it but after I read the logs theres no way Im looking for that
If there was ever a sign to read the comments before getting to the geocache, let this be it.... I believe "squeamish cachers beware" note is under this comment that I didn't read
My employer required me to attend a course on this side of the strait. So, even before I had planned flights or accommodation, I sussed out a heap of caches that I would pass near, or could get out to, after hours, in darkness.
After day three, and some dinner, I rugged up with several layers, grabbed several lighting options and took a wander round the streets and the HRT in a 5 hour, 15 km loop.
Easy find here but the bugs in the lidless container was a bit of a surprise. Could do with a new EMT container to keep the Earwigs and all their babies out.

It is impressive what has been achieved here. I will be interested to come back in future years to see how the forest has grown.
Trampled grass helped with this one.
The plastic bag the log is in is holed and could do with replacement

Quick find while waiting to meet a client in Silverstream. Container has lost it's lid, but log still signable. Tftc!
Checked a couple of trees on the wrong side before finding it on the right side. Silly as the GPS had first favoured the correct side. Log signed but getting full.
Thanks.
Thanks.
1448. 7:17 pm. There seems to be a fair number of 'groet' geocaches here. TFT(fairway)C.
A good little find on a track we had no come across before. A scorcher of a day today, expected to get to 31 if you can believe that after the terrible rain in the leadup to Xmas. In any case, a lovely walk which we will need to come back to and explore fully. Thanks for the cache and for bringing us here
Out and about again this evening with the Seagnoid, making the most of the fact that it wasn't pissing it down with rain! In fact it was quite a pleasant evening. A little overcast, but not cold and no wind to speak of.
No one else was using this pathway whilst we were on it, so having a hunt at GZ was a casual affair, and it wasn't long before the cache was found. No issues here, and I soon signed the log before returning the cache back to it's hiding place.
Thanks for setting up this cache.

A nice wee hidey hole quickly found thanks.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. A quiet day around the Hutt today, preparing for the travel over the ditch tomorrow. The weather was good for caching and biking, a little on the hot side, otherwise fine.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Cycled up from Petone after work mainly to get a break from sitting on my arse all day. Yeah, I could have targetted a closer cache, but I was suffering from planar glutitis. Nice easy find here. , like the little stream walkway. Cycleway.
Nice to have a little bit of the cultural hisory here, many thanks.

The lad had a football final against St Pat's so while the team did their warm ups I popped out for a bit of a stroll. Quick find here. Very happy to see that this area has been cleaned up. The walkway and stream edges are looking great.
Had a discussion with a golfer while trying to spot a missing cache further back and he said that St Pat's are looking to develop the whole area. Golf course will possibly go for residential houses. Hope they keep the stream development.

Walked this section of the river trail finding caches last week and decided to come back to walk this little track today. Nice quick find no one about. Thanks for the cache

Great cache and lots going on. Ezratar decided to walk down to the water edge and see whats going on and the next thing he is waist deep in water / mud. Left the wife to sort out whilst I logged the cache and then changed him and continued north. Quick and easy find on a lovely day walking from Silverstream northwards. Did with MycroMan, Ezratar and the Fairy half. Thanks for the cache.
First cache of the morning, the youngest geochild went straight for this one and decided to leave a trinket. TFTC with EmBeeNZ
# 1542 Despite riding past this track a million times, I never knew it existed and was surprised to find it here. Under the cover of darkness but under the extreme illumination from the driving range it was a surreal experience walking amongst the young native trees. Lovely plantings. Cache found easily in its creative nook. All good inside to. Cheers trails trails trails for this one.
I have been to this part of the Hutt River walkway just once before, at a time when I was only able to target a particular single cache that I was focusing on. I returned today to have a go at some of the other fantastic caches in the area, including the Māwaihākona Stream loop.
This was my first find on the loop - a nice quick find thanks to the hint. Thanks Trails Trails Trails!

Another nice hide, as always I found it at the last place I checked. All safe and dry. TFTC.
Find #2961. An epic day of cycling and geocaching in the Upper Hutt Region, attempting to capture as many remaining Traditional caches as possible to clear the map. Started at Petone, catching the Wairarapa train with the bike, for a pleasant 25min and inexpensive $6.50 journey, alighting at Maymorn Station. Cycled some 40km in often 26 degree plus heat, returning to Petone via the general route of the Hutt River Trail but with many deviations. Particularly enjoyed the upgraded sections of cycle trail, smooth asphalt where once there was gravel.
One of the main focuses of this entire day was to complete the walk along the Mawaihakona Stream and find all the caches. I was prepared to park the bike and walk the distance but thankfully the trails were very cyclable as walking them would have taken some time with the back tracking I had to do and in this heat. I stopped at this first one to refresh with food and water under the shade of the tree.
My final find for the day before the quick cycle down the River Trail to Petone. Found this one nicely nested away with an army of earwigs for company. Thanks for this series. SL TFTC

Christmas day and time to walk off a big lunch and grab some fresh air...8 more caches to reach my target of of 365 for the year...this Trail seemed to be a good spot to knock them off. Wrong support checked initially but quickly found the right one.TFTC
Nice little river track ! Had to get the man to get it tho as pram won’t fit down the track !
Initially searched the wrong side of the track however was a quick find after a slight adjustment to the search area, TFTC
