This had an exciting element to it on the way down the 4wd track to the cache, we were confronted by a Volvo sedan, followed by a Subaru coming up the other wayit turns out that you dont need to spend thousands on a 4wd with a lift and transfer case, you just whack a couple of P Plates onto any old sedan you borrowed from your mum, and instant 4wd!So needless to say, we had to reverse back up the hill a fair bit so they could keep on truckin oblivious to where they shouldnt be..Anyway, the rest of the cache finding went off all tickety-boo.except for the part where we could find every part of the cache, except the important bit that contained the log sheetso after a heap of frantic digging, we finally uncovered the important bit and signed our lives away, then we put it all back together properly so the next finder will get it all a bit easier.
Hot already at 9am, its going to be a bit of a scorcher today. I found a clue here and have realized that i may have missed the clue at the last one.
The Trip
I think the stars have finally aligned for a two night trip, caching and camping along the Great Dividing Range. It seems that every time i have planned a caching trip in the last six months something has come up to thwart my plans or cut my trip short. I have high hopes that this week it will be perfect.
I started at Moorabool Reservoir and will be collecting caches from there in the direction of Riddells Creek although i have a lot to find so am unlikely to make it that far. The weather is glorious and there is a cool lilt in the air which makes for a pleasant change from home, and the shady forests are vibrant.
Champagne caching!

Fun, adventure, travel, history, geology, mental stimulation, social gatherings, support and friendship are just some of the elements of geocaching.
Out and about enjoying the opportunity to grab a few caches, yours being one of those I targeted on my journey today. Thanks ??
Thanks mudbrick for placing this cache and adding to our game.

the morning was spent in the crowd
an ant carried along with the flood
with no autonomy, life, aspirations
there was no need to sign any logbooks, our name was already inked
but here the change of pace began: sweet autonomy
do you want to ford the river and wet your ankles or take the longer drier route?
do you want to bash through the bush or take the longer safer route?
the quorum of cachers tends to safety above all else and we cannot blame them for this proclivity
but
us?
we are just happy to float along with the current

Well, I can think of worse ways to make my way to the twentieth anniversary of our State's first Geocaching get-together than continuing the search for Yorick that began during the fifteen year celebration, but not many better ways. Especially in the company of such a fun group of intrepid expedition members.
It's certainly different, being in the middle of a group hike, finding caches.
Every one of these caches is a work of art, mudbrick... I liked this one in particular.
Back the way we'd come and along the main track to get here.

Nice to be out exploring this track again and finishing it off. Great to come with a group too as the comradeship keeps you going! Ha ha. Always such great and slightly crazy caches. Thanks so much for putting these out and making me explore such a beautiful area. Signed as event crew!
Excellent cache camo!
Found with our large expedition group. The log was signed 'The Event Crew'. This is an excellent series with very well themed caches. Thank you mudbrick.

Alas poor Yorick! I knew him NOT and really “there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.” But either way I thinks this fun. And, yippeee -no disappointments and all approached with anticipation - the planets aligned and I made the trek from afar, bunked in the girliemobile for the night at Pykes and then headed to the brekky event followed by a tramp in the bush to find these fab Yoricks caches and then to the grand finale ’20 year celebration event’. This whole series has been totally rewarding and impressive. TFTC and the superb planning that has been created for our enjoyment. An odyssey indeed. A fave for sure I thinks.
A day to find out how many Yoricks there really are around this area.
I always thought there was only one, but I seem to be incorrect.
The day started at dawn (not so early this time of the year), and continued with a nice walk and two events.
A lovely day for a good walk, good companions, and excellent caches.
Back to the Lane, and this was the next cache.
It certainly was a mammoth of a cache.
Another detailed discussion on the way to proceed.
We stayed on the lane.
Thanks, Robmc.

Our adventures with Yorick actually began back in May 2017, after a Pykes Creek adventure.
As soon as we learnt of today’s plans we were determined not to be alone trekking through the forest in search of more of the cleverly constructed caches containing remnants of the ghoulish nature of the legendary characters.
A somewhat early start from home (5:30am) found us gathering with a number of other intrepid cachers from near and far. Together we trekked over, under and around for about four hours, discovering and logging caches along the way as 'Event Crew' as we made our way through the forest.
What an awesome series!
Thanks mudbrick for this amazing series.

It was an early start to the morning. After a breakfast event it was off to search the bush for Yorick! I joined a crew of explorers making their way on and off the trails to find this series of caches.
After changing our plan we soon found the next cache (which was originally our last cache).
Thanks mudbrick for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

It was a great day for a hike and after the earlier event a group headed off along the trails around the hills on Yorick's odyssey in search of many bones with lots of interesting caches to find.
It was a great morning and we finished into for the CCE.

Found with dalerious and a group of cachers which included the illustrious CO of this magnificent series .
I had no idea what to expect when we placed this series of caches on our list to be undertaken between two events, in an area dalerious and I have not been to before.
The morning started early and we nearly missed the boat getting to the first event with just enough time to hastily pack a bag, say our goodbyes to the rest of the group who were not hiking with us.
Once on the walk, we caught up to a gentleman and said g'day . It was the CO himself. It was a lovely surprise to meet you as we didn't know you were there due to us missing the important introductions.
It was a pleasure to meet you, mudbrick .
I have never had the pleasure of doing a series to which each and every container was made with such great attention to detail, and as for the theme, well that was well and truly up my alley . The excitement was palpable, and we were all eager to get to the next cache to see what the container was going to be.
You kept the theme going perfectly, and we were in awe at how you found so many quality props for the hides [xx(].
I cannot say too much about our wander around this beautiful area, signing our name in a series that we will never forget, and will talk about for a long time .
mudbrick, you truly are a master of the game.
Thank you sir for the privilege.

But its listed as small???
Oh.... Now I get it.
I've read my fair share of The Bard.
Shakespeare was compulsory reading back in my highschool days, and with an interest in amateur theatre also, there was a time that I could recite Prince Hamlet's soliloquy in the graveyard verbatim. [^]
What I was clueless about though, before commencing this series of Yorick caches, was the number of favourite points needed in the bank to do it justice.
I was grossly under-prepared.
Catnap777 and I tagged along with the rest of the Event Crew as our morbid mob thrilled at each and every unique cache container we "exhumed" on this excellent hike in good company with the added treat of having the CO walking along with us.
TFTC and series mudbrick. You too truly are a man of infinite jest. [:o)] [^]

Yeah yeah thank you for this cacha would love to give you a favour for every single one but I’m gonna run out real quick
I really liked this one, so a fav point from me. All the caches in this series really deserve favs as they're placed in a wonderful part of the world and had so much effort into creating and placing them for others enjoyment
It was a Mammoth task walking up Amblers track with our hiking gear. But this cache was worth it.
Nice to finally finish this series off. Have all my numbers, now onto these pesky mystery bonus caches. Thanks for all the fun out here. So glad to have seen this part of Lerderderg. TFTC
Found the mammoth, the actual cache and a large lid for a cache. As we got back to the car after finding this one a large convoy drove past, which for the next cache along made it rather difficult as they had all stopped.
We parked about 80 meters away from this cache and made our way in. First discovering a mammoth, but spent ages looking for the log book. Was eventually found. Some remnants of an old container here too.
Again, maybe by default, as we ambled along a well formed road track, hopefully towards our car, we stopped to sign the final cache. Wow, what a great walk, but it is getting a bit late in the day. Thanks for an awesome series.
I do say Muddy...how many trips did this all take?
Where did you find all the excess wood to cover caches?
What did you carry it all out in?
Where did you find so many skulls?!
Why do I ask so many questions?!

I had been interested in coming out this way to tackle the Yorrick series for a while but never had the time or excuse to be here. When I saw the nearby 15 years event published and had a free day I locked it into the calendar. After picking up a couple on the way into the event and then spending time chatting with other cachers the time came to set off for the rest of them on foot. In total it took me about 3 hours to do the circuit, a beautiful and at times challenging walk with plenty of interesting containers and hides along the way. A great deal of time and effort has gone into scouting these locations and then creating the hides for everyone to enjoying finding them.
One last find before heading up the steep hill and back to the pathway back to the carpark and once again another unique cache container. Thanks for the great series mudbrick.

A lot of walking to only find a few caches today but this one was always going to be a highlight given the delights of the others in the series. TFTC,

Another great cache theme and I've had a mamoth day myself. Cache number 29 today. Will grab one more on the way home to make it 30. What a great series. So much thought and work has gone into it. I will return another day to grab the 2 mystery caches. Thanks **mudbrick** for a great day of caching in a part of the Lerdy I've never been. TFTC.

Back for stage two of this series with whatthefox and tazman. Easy find with good coords. Last one for today and completing the final 9 in the series. Problem is it's got dark real quick after 3hours on the tracks starting mid afternoon. Have all the clues but must come back another time for the two bonus caches. Never mind it's a great place to visit and another few close to Yorick can pick up next time. FP. CIGC TNLN TFTC.
A quick and easy find as we cache our way through the area today. We collected the drive by and easy walk up caches in this series today. but we will return for the others when we have more time to go after them. A lot of great fun caches to be had all through this series. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
We decided to take Millie the geodog and TJ the geoHilux out for a day of caching and 4WDing in Lerderderg State Park. We had a fun day out with a picnic lunch in the state park. TFTC

I had planned a long weekend to do a hiking trip, after some plan changes and bad weather, I decided to hike in the Lerdy. The geo wife was happy for me to be away for a little while, so with the geo vehicle packing with all sorts of things, I was off. The road was muggle free before I hit the camp ground where it was very busy and I had to find a spot to park and stay.
I was at the end of this series but still had more work to do. I was able to find the cache quickly but proceeded to leave my walking stick behind which I promptly went back to collect. Now up the steep hill again and back to the camp ground. Stamped and returned as found.
**Thanks for placing this trad cache and wonderful series mudbrick** [^]
**Cache container and log in good condition**

Having previously completed a few of this series, Bogonhazy, the geo dogs and I decided to take advantage of the beautiful day and headed to O'Briens Crossing for a bbq and a geo-adventure. What a day it was. Relaxing, exhausting and exciting. I didn't think I had it in me to complete the series. The first part nearly killed my unfit body but after we got going the views, beautiful country side and the adventure made the 2 1/2 hr trek exhilarating. We made a few wrong turns but it just added to the adventure. Cliff descents, rock climbs and even a tree crossing - all unnecessary but so much fun. The dogs, BH and I all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and even though I was cursing your name at a few points, definitely my favourite bush adventure to date. Thanks Muddy for another fantastic series. Love your work xx
After doing the previous 8 caches from the road, Leetalicious and I grabbed the two geodogs, Tess and Worf, and decided to make a day of it and head to O'Brien's Crossing to do the rest. We started with the little gas cooker grilling up a steak sandwich at the crossing and a cold drink each, then packed it all up and off we went.
A tough first section got the heart racing before it levels out to a well defined track on relatively level terrain. Each and every cache has it's trademark Muddie signature. You are guaranteed a quick find because they're huge and with accurate coords, and a smile as you unveil the cover to reveal another well themed hilarious take on poor Yorick.
A fabulous walk that involved 2 river crossings, an amazing tunnel, an old hut, and almost too many breathtaking views of the river and surrounds. 2 1/2 hrs of pure exhilaration in a wonderful part of the state so close to where we live.
Adding a fave point to all of these, really appreciate the thought and effort you put into all your caches Graeme. These are the types of caches that make you fall in love with our game.
Cheers Phil

When I got the call out from DAB asking if I wanted to join him for a hike in Lerderderg I quickly responded with a massive Hell Yea.
We set a date and made the trip out to tackle this awesome series, this has to be one of the most creative series know to man with every hide so unique and well fitting to the name.
The sun was shinning and not a cloud in the sky making for an amazing day for a hike.
Another fantastic hide this was and very very well themed, what a great series, now all the hiking is done next step is to get back out and do the driving ones and I'm sure will be just as fantastic as all of these.
Thanks heaps mudbrick for the fantastic series, we really love your work.

AAhh Lerderderg... how I missed thee... It has been way too long since I have hiked here and today I succumbed to the call of the cache !! I had driven and claimed the first 8, but I was salivating to stretch the legs and finish this series. It was a bit of a change today, as I usually hike solo. Today I had the pleasure of hiking with Chris from The_Tritonz. With the GPS loaded and the sun shining we set off on our journey into the unknown.
Well here we are, the last hide before the bonus caches. After the find, we sat down to work out the co-ords for the final 2. With a plausible pair of co-ords, we headed off for the last 2 finds of the day. TFTC mudbrick

I was out for my monthly caching trip with Biggles Bear, this time aiming for the Altona and Yorick's Odyssey series. We liked the variety of the hides and enjoyed the walk around the circuit. This was the last of the series attempted today, When we began the series, the drive-by's made me think that we would need to find some more caches to do to fill in the day, as they were quickly being found. Fortunately, from number 9 onwards, we had to walk to them.
My thanks to mudbrick for the cache and for the series. A favourite from me for the series.

On this fine windy May morning I drove in from Gisborne to O'Brien's Crossing, planning to do 14 caches in the walking series first whilst I was fresh. In the end I did 15 as I detoured to picked up one of the puzzles on the way back. All in all I took 2 hrs and 15 mins for these 15 which will give others some idea of the time needed.
Well this was the last of the walking caches and now with Amblers track to follow the going was easy albeit uphill. I loved this hide and the amusing title.
A favourite

Of course it was a mammoth cache. Of course i have all the clues and now just have to work out the bonus cache positions. Hmmmm. That will be a task; as will climbing back up the track will be. Thankfully I have a cairn to look out for to cut the climb in half.

A wonderful day of caching - 5 hours in the Lerderderg, finding 24 new Mudbrick caches .
Never mind this one mammoth cache - it must have been a mammoth task getting all these sizeable caches out here!
Thanks for the entertaining series, Mudbrick.
