Back from the Great Leap Forward in Adelaide so now on the Tassie caching hunt again. Today we drove back to Lake St Clair area to stay at Bradys Lake and do some of the 60 Great Walks. We stopped here on the way back from St Clair, great spot and nice easy find. TFTC

15-Oct-23
Located with Ricardinho Last find of the day & the hydro dam infrastructure up here is bl##dy impressive!! Day 5 of our Tassie/Sydney trip & today we are travelling from Hobart to Bronte Park. A quick stop into the supermarket for supplies on our way out of the city, then onto New Norfolk where I found my first Bangoes! We stopped & did the 3 Falls Walk at Mt Field N.P & then onto Bronte Park. The walk was beautiful & the bush reminded me so much of NZ. The waterfalls were in fine form, track was good and the rain mostly held off, A really great day all round TFTC

15-Oct-23
Last cache for us for the day.Although we were running a bit late, we chose this as the one we would pop into for a quick look due to its proximity to the road.I was impressed with the hydro infrastructure all the way up here, looks like some serious engineering feats were performed up here.TFTC W & WDay 5 of our Aussie trip, today it is Hobart to Bronte Park. The main aim was to do the 3 Falls Walk at Mt Field N.P, but on the way we stopped into a supermarket then New Norfolk for some lunch.A couple of caches there, and the Ad Lab, then we were off to the walk. The walk was great. The waterfalls were in fine form, track was good and the rain mostly held off.We found all caches attempted due to the generously specific hints, but ran out of time for a few that were away from the track, having to get a move on to our digs.Another fun day, thanks all COs.

13-Oct-23
Surprising spot, Glad we pulled in to find this cache. A nice spot to strech legs. TFTC

25-Sep-23
Feel so privileged to watch the water gushing under the bridge and the sound that it makes as it moves. It made me wonder what volume of water was moved in the time the wire was opened. This would be great for white water rafting. TFTC.

25-Apr-23
Thanks for the cache willberech & willbert7074.
On a bit of a road trip with my two GeoGSPS's today as it was a cracking autumn day.
Have been to this area a couple of times before, back in the 1980s to watch some kayak and C1 slalom. So, it's been a while.
Parked near GZ and made a nice quick find.

09-Jul-20
On our way back to Hobart from Queenstown and were collecting some caches along the way. Wow this is a great spot. The water was really flowing hard today which made it slightly scary, but we made a quick find. Would definitely love to spend more time here. TFTC

Have cached at Brady's Lake before but can't remember ever coming to this spot before.
What a great spot it was too. Lots of water coming down the creek and would love to come back and camp here and tackle the lake in the kayaks.
Think the canoe course might be a bit too much of a challenge though but would like to see the experts competing here.
Thanks.

Canoe slalom championships on today, site overrun with muggles. Will have to come back one day,

21-Dec-18
In Tassie with family doing a short trip around this lovely island. We saw some amazing scenery, wildlife and visited some beautiful places while touring around in our motorhome. I took the opportunity to stop and grab any caches when we could stop. We only had a few DNF's and made some good discoveries and clever hides during the trip. We had some fun and laughs along the way.

Loving the drive down around this way and the dams are a great place to stop off. This was an excuse to stop and stretch the legs. While I made a quick find, hubby took photos.

Thanks willberech for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

TaurusSix and I came to find this cache. What we found was a large crowd of muggles with their kayaks. No chance of being discrete, so we moved on.

01-Nov-18
Tassie Trip Day 43 - Today we put the big box on the back of the GeoVehicle and made our way from Queenstown to New Norfolk for our next base camp and along the way we mad a few stops at suitable caches along the way. It turned out to be a great day for travel however it turned a little damp at our final destination that is the camp location at setup time.

After some great success along the road so far we decided a little detour down by the water would be nice and this was a really nice sport to admire the water course and the body of water it ran into and although doing a little damage to the step of the box we actually caught a stone on our way our DAMM BLAST poo bugger bum. It was all good didn't realise till a later stop.

Thanks for the placement wilberech & wilbert7074 for showing us this wonderful spot to stop and cache.

09-Oct-18
TFTC another lovely spot to admire and find a cache

11-Aug-18
After originally trying to get to this cache a few days ago from the Bradys boat ramp side and failing dismally, going home with wet feet, I attempted again today from the other side. The white water was big and angry, but I found the cache no problem. One of my favourite spots! TFTF!

05-May-18
Found on a wet cold day between rain showers while camped nearby! What a gorgeous spot! Tftc

05-May-18
Found while camping at Brady’s Lake. Good spot to sit out some wet weather. Still beautiful scenery especially when the sun peeped out for a little while. The GC gave us some activities during our stay. Most interesting area and information. Thanks for leading us around the area.

25-Apr-18
A short trek on the gravel road and a nice spot for a cache. Took a little while to find but soon had my hands on it. A good setting with the water running as I search. TFTC.

#14307. Day 8 of our 3 week holiday in Tasmania and Robmc and I have left Strahan and made our way to Tarraleah for a couple of nights. After a DNF in Queenstown we managed to find 12 others along the way. I was not too happy about the windy roads that went on and on and on! I was hoping we might see some sunshine and see the temperature rise once we started dropping from an 800 plus altitude but alas it didn't happen today.

We are nearing the end of our journey today and stopped for this one - a great place here and the water was roaring past this afternoon. A quick find by Rob here and we were soon on our way.

Thanks willberech

Day eight of our holiday in Tassie. Bettyboo3747 and I are traveling from Strahan to Tarraleah..
Today we turned left, turned right, turned left....isn't there any straight roads on the Central Highlands?
Some nice walks and some beautiful spots (and a few caches, of course!)

The canal was certainly running high today! The water was belting past.
It was interesting to walk across the bridge and watch it thunder past just below your feet.
It was strange to see green water after looking at tea coloured creeks for the last week.
Thanks, Robmc.

Well up to date on my logs for once, well so I was thinking it turns out I have missed a few along the way going back months Sad

So a quick generic log to mark my find, I more than likley found this while out caching with gooseandegg on one of our many caching trips.

Thanks for the cache and sorry about the poor and late log.

I sort of feel we did this series backward 3-2-1 but it was the way were travelling and we found them all so it doesn't really matter. I've always enjoyed crossing the Slalom Course here and had never pulled off the see the bottom part. It was running at a nice slow pace and even I thought it would be nice to pop a kayak in and have a go, but we didn't have one with us [:o)].
Thanks willberech for this series, it's well worth doing and on a day like today, it was beautiful here.

23-Jan-18
Left Hobart early in the morning and had a list of caches to pick up on our way to Queenstown for a stop over then heading to Corinna and then Waratah for Australia Day Event! If it wasn’t for geocaching we wouldn’t venture down these little tracks. There were a few muggles in the area but not where we were!

Thanks for bringing us here!

20-Jan-18
Great series of caches. Thanks for showing us around the lakes.

03-Jan-18
Drove thru the area before Christmas (23rd Dec, I think) and was robbed of the chance of getting these caches because the geocaching site went down for a while. We were unable to log into the app on our phones, or the website to find the coordinates and neither of us carry a gps with preloaded caches on it. We returned on 3rd Jan, feeling lucky to have another go at it. Unfortunately for us, there were muggle fishermen right next to the bridge, which resulted in only a 5 minute stealth search. We didn’t have the time to wait for the fishermen to move on, and so moved on ourselves. I’m not having much luck finding the cache straight after a pt drop, never mind. On we go....

Day 6 of our Tasmanian Adventure and driving from Queenstown to Tarraleah this afternoon. This little series not far off the Lyell Hwy looked interesting, so we collected the three. Here at No. 1 the canal was hurtling along at a furious pace, but we managed to pluck the cache from its hiding place safely. SL at 4pm Left: deer PT. Happy to pick up about 7 months of 'unlove' as well on this one. #4960 TFTC willberech & willbert7074

Out with MEMOs, exploring the country side. This is a generic log to help me catch up with the long overdue logging of my found caches. Please note that each cache and location can be remembered but due to time restraints unable to personalize each log. The date logged may also differ to day found. Thank you for sharing this location for us.

Today we headed to Lake St Clair, Bradys Lake and Lake Echo endeavoring to extend our streak into its 85th day. We were fortunate to find all six caches we searched for on a largely fine day with an occasional very light drizzle of rain.

It took us a few minutes to convince ourselves as to the exact location of the cache relative to the canal. We left our car near the road and walked to GZ, in awe at the volume of water flowing down the rapids. Anyone would have to be stark raging bonkers to take a kayak into that turbulence but we assumed that for competition, the water flow would have been very challenging but not as strong as today. Once near GZ, reasonably accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks willberech & wilbert7074 for the cache and for bringing us to a location we had driven past many times but not actually stopped to explore.

willberech thank you for the cache.

After reading the logs and as it was raining quite hard and there were so many muggles canoeing I didn't know if I would look for it.

But as I was here I thought I would give it a go, and as Mrs D sat in the car I made a very quick find in the first place I looked.

I then went back to the car grabbed the camera and took some photo's of the canoeing.

What a great spot **thank you** for bringing me here.

Found at 11:06:00 AM

Hi guys, we will endeavour to pop out within the next 2 weeks and reset the coords for this one. We have loved reading everyones kind words and shared appreciation of the area. Really loved the photos Old Saint, we were thrilled to see them as they also highlight the ever changing nature of this beautiful area. Happy caching everyone Very Happy

12-Apr-16
We were on our way to the Lake St Clair area for a couple of days. After finding Link 3 and Link 2 we continued around Bradys Lake to search for Link 1. We were amazed at all the shacks around the lake, we had never detoured from the Lyell Highway on previous trips. We found the search for this cache very frustrating, we knew it was supposedly 20 mts out but which way. Well we thought magnetic must be on a sign or the bridge so we headed that way until we were approx 20 mts from the stated co ords. After a long search we gave up. TFTC willberech

Thank you so much for using the ‘HEC’ as a theme for your first geocaches. We also love these areas and have visited all the lakes and most of the power stations, including the wonderful museum at Waddamana, several times. Hopefully it will rain soon and restore these wonderful areas to their usual glorious state. The information you provided in the description is also appreciated.

We strongly support your appeal for the littering to stop.

We had limited time today so were only able to look for two of the four caches but we will certainly come back soon (before winter sets in) for the others – any excuse to come back to the lakes eh!

Yes, we agree the coordinates are a little out but with the hint it was an easy find (as you intended) and surely having a bit of a search around adds to the enjoyment of caching.

Thanks willberech & willbert7074

29-Mar-16
On my way to Maydena, I need to make some pit stops along the way. Decided to go off the highway and take a little detour. You definitely need to visit again and write down the correct coordinates, but I found it in the end. Thanks for hiding!

24-Mar-16
Last find of the day for us on our tassie holiday. We had a giggle at the load sign on the bridge. Little did we know that this was an almost new geocache. As mentioned in previous logs the coords were about 20m out but with the hint we still made a quick find. Thanks for brining us here willberech. We noted this as a camping spot for our next tasmanian adventure (they happen every year or two).
