TFTC. Quick find

27-Oct-24
Visiting beautiful Dunedin and its surrounds for the mega. Many city and country roads driven to search for caches and appreciate the many COs placing them for us to find.

Paddle chick and I got this cache due to having to do a detour which wasn't on our list thanks for this cache Hall-way

27-Oct-24
Nanzie and I are on a mission to do the airplane trail, picking up any other caches that happen to be on our route. This one was not on our registered flight plan, however, due to a tree blocking the road. A quick reroute was worked out which meant "unfortunately" we had to go past a couple of unexpected caches. What else are you supposed to do but stop and find them as well of course. Thanks Hall-way#17364

An interesting intersection with an abundance of interesting of signs. We were happy to sign the new log sheet just as the first rain drops arrived.

13-Jun-22
This was our last find for the day, after doing some of the geo-art. Yes, exactly what is that light? And why? We weren't sticking around to find out as the rain was heading our way fast. Found with Debsnz. Thanks Hall-way

02-Jan-22
Found with StreetWalkerNZ, KiwiChris and Mrs KiwiChris as we attempt to find as many of the new airplane geoart as possible on a warm and sunny Dunedin day.
Another trad that SW sneaked in en route to some more of the geoart. He made a quick find here too. What traffic light?? TFTC.

02-Jan-22

Big tree stump!

17-Aug-21
Found it.

17-Aug-21
As Flamingo4850 and I were standing near GZ trying to be inconspicuous to muggles, a large vehicle drew up alongside, driver (farmer?) wound down his window and told us he knew exactly why we were there and that his kids had found it! Haha. Great start to the day had us laughing for a while. TFTC.

Easy as!!!

01-Sep-20
Got the green light and the cache was quickly in hand;TFTC

29-Aug-20
With recent finds rekindling my hopes, I decided to undertake another attempt at this one.
Thus, after clearing out the rubbish, the stump was entered for a thorough search.

Nothing.

How can this be? Search again.

Nothing.

Time to bring in the big tools: prodding stick, insanely bright torch, and a dose of fresh curse words (for special occasions).

Nothing.

Working my way through the curse words, I meanwhile scrolled through the recent found logs. Ah, there is one that makes mention of the hint not longer being applicable. Well, that's kind of a game changer, no? With rested eyes and fresh information to work with, the search was renewed. This time, the cache was quickly located. Huzzah! After the log-signing, I did make the hint applicable again which should make things easier for future search parties.

Then there is this:
If a bull is shown a red traffic light, would he stop, or would he charge? #MillionDollarQuestions

29-Aug-20
Good find, thanks

21-Jun-20
Another easy find today on the Taieri, heading for a nearby DNF to change to a smiley. Tftc

18-Jun-20
This took way longer then it should have. TFTC (I do suspect that with the hint being magnetic that the cache is possible not in the original position) however I managed to find it and left it where I found it.

A quick find at the traffic light - did not expect to see this traffic light. TFTC

21-Dec-19
No, this traffic light would not switch to green for me.

03-Aug-19
I entered the stump twice, but still failed to find the cache., even after rootling around on the 'floor'.

21-Jul-19
I can't fit in there but cache was soon in hand to sign the logbook. Cool place for a cache and safe from flooding, but maybe not the farmer types. Thanks for the cache.

06-Jun-19
*Winter time dots are thin on the ground for June soon to be rectified with an annual caching trip and another push over the border ploughing new and old fields in the Strath Taieri of it's green dots turning dozens of dates from one singular shade of green to a multiple darker green on the 'finds' tableau*. Some of these gravel roads traveled are wery familiar from a previous life visiting the outlaw old crone we outlived last century in Mosgiel and visiting a new Oma this century in Dunnas. In thirty years nothing much has changed in Outram Riverside. Spotted the feature from afar as we approached the GZ. Some of the previous logs while preparing the PQ ages ago made me giggle at what changes the cache had gone through, including the latest DNF caught out with an obsolete hint. Not being at milking time made for easy parking but no flashing lights and since I'm the skinniest, I got to climb inside the hide. After turning around, found the white taped eclipse tin safe from biblical flooding in the budge. An extra RITR slip popped in had a couple of signatures added and tin returned to it's place. Thanks for making us stop at this cache on our journey through Riverside.

19-Apr-19
Found

16-Feb-19
Oh well, finishing on a DNF... hint suggested only 1 possible place... not there.

18-Jan-19
For my personal challenge of working towards getting my calendar on GC.COM to be at least the same shade of green or darker I need to sign off at least 12 caches today. I won't grumble if I find one or two moreWinkRazz. I Had parked my snail shell up at the Showgrounds in Mosgiel.

When I found the cache the magnets were not in use.

Cheers for the cache.

02-Jan-19
I was busy searching for this one when a ute pulled up asking me if I was the owner of this property. Turns out he owned a farm round here and was cruising along the road checking it all out. He thought it all looked "a bit of amess roundhere". Think he was talking about flooding rather than the farming. I couldn't find this anywhere and then quite by luck spied itas I was exiting from within. Left as found. TFTC #13,282

#6070. Its my third trip to Dunedin in 2 weeks. Haven't been here for several years and suddenly the flood gates have opened as I have come down to do a series of workshops. Decided to stay on until Saturday afternoon to give me a chance to do some caches on Friday night and again on Saturday morning. After picking up a rental car at the airport I headed off to grab a few rural caches. Interesting place for a traffic light. Wonder if the cows press the button to make it go as they cross the road. Couldn't find a cache associated with any material needed by the hint. So read a few logs and one alerted me to a change of hiding option. I then saw where it was hidden and soon after had the cache in hand. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for hiding it here Hall-way.

01-Sep-18

24-Apr-18
Couldn't find it.

01-Apr-18
Quick find during an Easter Sunday of caching across the Taieri plains. No cows or traffic!

Took us a while to find this one as mentioned magnetic but when found was under a stone, not sure where the original hiding place was. TFTC

11-Mar-18
Parked, and grabbed for another find on our weekend returning from Mahinerangi, with pjjob and granville

18-Oct-17
We had a good search around but no luck at all here today.
Thanks

10-Oct-17
Out tonight at very short notice for a few caches before it got dark and a few in the dark! Joined by Kerynz and Grapea. Lovely evening!

10-Oct-17
Found with Frame Family. Grapea came along for the ride. Nice to be able to head out after tea these days. Found this reasonably quickly. We were pretty pleased with the find as the sun had well and truly set. The last one of the evening.

Arrived here and had a look at the hint. Nothing on the pole or the railway remanent and then I spotted something often seen at hides. Hint does not tie in with location but it isn't all that difficult to work out.

29-Apr-17
Found easy enough from reading previous few logs. Not sure if this is where it was originally as the hint is no longer applicable. TFTC.

05-Apr-17
Being our third visit to this cache we are now suspicious that the cache is jinxed. First time sifted thru the hollow log and found nothing. Second visit spotted the eclipse container attached to the pole up near the light. Came back today after noting jaywalk comments. Quickly located the position as clearly indicated in their log but found no cache. Clambered over and around the hollow log and still nil. Something strange happening here? Had an eclipse container in the car so placed it as per daywalks log. TFTC

18-Mar-17
All good to go.

18-Feb-17
Off to Outram to pick up Mr D, who was biking there, so a chance to detour for some park and grabs. One last low-terrain one before the cafe. What a clever cow-crossing safety feature! We have been enlightened!

There is an obvious remnant of the [Outram Railway](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC4XE2D_ghost-railways-outram-3-otago) in the stump - would have been a good spot for Uncle to have grabbed! - but no sign of the expected. ... oh, judging from recent logs something funny is going on here... and yes, there is the traditional P&G Eclipse taped up the top of the pole!

Out of reach? Hmm, pole strong and firmly attached - no problem, it's an easy stretch! Untaped Eclipse one-handed, returned to ground level, signed logsheet.

Have re-hidden Eclipse on the large stump, as per the cache description. At knee-height, under suspicious pile of rocks.

That was fun!

18-Feb-17
Can be re-enabled - see log. All good to go, cache dry, in a new T1.5 hide.

The hint needs to be changed!

19-Dec-16
Farmer brown must not want us having fun. As someone has taped it way up high. Will have a look when I get home.

16-Dec-16
A good number of DNFs (even that recent found when you read text was a DNF......

16-Dec-16
After a bit of the day it was great to head out this evening, enjoy the lovely weather and get some caches. Working slowly towards my 2000 for news years (last years resolution - might make it).

Nope - like woody think farmer having a laugh

11-Dec-16
Dnf to cold to spend a lot time.
