After painting for the last 4 days, Mr. Minion said we needed a break. So, a long drive with the air con on was in order. These caches fit the bill perfectly. We parked and walked up finding the nest quickly but then for some reason did not follow the directions and walked around for a while before realising where we were meant to be, then it was a quick find. The container is in great condition. Thanks for the cache, Samuel and Lee, tnln replaced as found sl

I am surprised this hasn’t been found for a while. Following a beautiful drive, a short walk and a brief hunt I had the cache in hand. Log and cache still in excellent condition. TFTC

We decided on a Corrabare expedition today, to find some trig points, and check our caches. The roads have obviously been graded between our visits, easy 2WD stuff today all the way to Flat Rock.
This cache is in great condition, after 5+ years in the wild, like it was hidden yesterday with a few scratches.... lee737

Nice hide. Took a while, covered back up appropriately. I didn't have a pen but pencils... I think it made more of a imprint in the log that put pencil on the page. Tftc

When hiking the Great North Walk in 2017, I decided not to make the kilometre each way detour to find this one as it was a pretty long hike as it was, so it's been nagging me as unfinished business ever since. On seeing it back in action after the fire closures, and with another fire season approaching, I decided it had better be sooner rather than later.

Having been somewhat underwhelmed by a bunch of "numbers" caches I did earlier in the week, I started looking around for a good hiking one and decided I'd try making this one into a terrain 4 by walking up the GNW from the Congewai Road West trackhead. With a nice sunny day and temperatures in the low 20s forecast, I headed off after my morning coffee and began my hike at about 10:30. I was going to see if I could park where the walking track leaves Eglinford Lane but the area is festooned with *No Parking* signs so I retreated to Congewai Road and added an extra half a kilometre each way to my hike.

On my previous hike through here, I'd been going the other way so it had been mostly down, but this time *the road goes ever up and up* was the song in my head. First a gentle climb, then a mountain-goat climb, then switch-backs and finally rock steps. At one point the track levelled out with valley views opening up and I thought I was nearing the top, but the GNW did a ninety degree left turn to go up an even steeper incline.

Finally I caught a glimpse of the comms tower and it wasn't too far away, so my spirits lifted as I made the final ascent and stopped for some well-earned water. Then it was off north along Cabans Road for another kilometre or so until I reached GZ where fortunately it didn't take long for me to find the cache.

After soaking up the views through the trees and drinking more water, I headed back the way I'd come, passing a goanna sunning itself on the road. Just before the saddle point a power line descends into the valley, offering a better view of what's down below. Maybe this could be a good spot for another Team737 cache.

I finally reached the car just after 3pm, sore, weary and with tenderised soles but so glad I did this one the hard way. The hike was just what I needed! I arrived back home a bit before sunset so was able to duck down to the beach to soak in the surf. Bliss!

Many thanks Samuel and Lee for getting this one back up, particularly when it looked like being archived. They say the journey's as important as the destination and that was certainly the case today, so have a favourite point for an adventure I'll long remember as one of the classic journeys and destinations.

Found with Shaneo58 doing some around the Wollombi area, After doing 'Watagan Wanders', we came here on the way home, even though it was disabled we decided to check it out, and found it there were no road closures, we contacked to CO to let him know all was well with the cache, as it was getting late and the others were a bit futher, we gave them for an other day to do. Fromthe cache back to the car we found a frill neck sleeping on the track, as I walked very close to it and even moved a rock under its tail, and it didn't stir so I concluded it saw dead and went to the car, Shane came back later telling me it got up and ran away..
Log signed and caches replaced as found.

**Thanks For The Cache** Samuel737.

Found with the_garbageman, Orrsome86 and Fielding Coach on a trip out here to finish off a challenge years in the making. Making good time allowed us to clear out the rest of the caches on this dead end road.
The garbageman had found this previously, so the rest of us went out and up. Did a little circle, but the cache was found pretty quickly.
Thanks for the almost views and cache!

04-Jun-17
the garbageman put out a call that he was going to be doing a few caches in the area and if I wanted to join. We had nice walk in the morning then did the easier ones in the afternoon. This was the third one of the day and the garbageman was kind enough to wait for the three of us who hadn't found this one to grab it. TFTC

25-Mar-16
A bit of a grey old day today and after a big night on the Easter eggs we decided a walk might be in order, but somehow it turned into a drive and next thing you know we were up here. There's some lovely views along this ridge line. Very easy in the XTrail but could see why those in a 2wd with lower clearance or smaller tread might struggle especially further south of this cache. This was a quick find - coords are within 4m which is pretty good given the tree cover! TNLN TFTC

Having an extra long weekend we decided to head out towards the Wolombi/Broke area and since these two hadn't been logged yet this was our first stop. We made it up in a 2WD just taking it slow in some parts although the road isn't too bad.

This was a great spot for a cache and we liked the rocky edges and the termite mound as well. The views along the drive were pretty good and only got better. TFTC!
