Great cache dropped off trackable on a very very windy day - Severe Wind Warning
This was the 2nd find in this slight detour between events of TGVCC, no sign of the picnic area, but yet smoother great view. Lorigus74 found this one first. TFTC BernieH
Trying to keep up with the Jones in the Cosmic Quest, while also trying to fill in calendar days. Found with WeAreGleesos while enjoying the Great Victorian Geocaching Crawl. Many thanks BernieH for providing this game piece for our enjoyment.Greetings from Tatura, Australia
Found by Aussie Train Driver 10/08/2024, find number 1797.I had come to this reserve for a walk so I parked at the bottom of the hill and walked up to the cache. The last light was just disappearing as I arrived at GZ which made the hunt more challenging (and a bit more hazardous!) but I eventually located the container. I topped up the swag in the cache as there wasn't much there and signed the log before returning to the car. TFTC!
After finding the last cache i drove back down the hill and walked to this one as i am not sure there is even a track in. It was a pleasant walk and i was intrigued by a large number of black fragments of something scattered through the bush. After wondering about them for a while i finally concluded that they were the remains of clay pigeons, someone has been very busy! I then enjoyed the search among the rocks to find this cheeky hide and then sat in the sun and admired the view while i signed the log. I needed to get out of the house and breathe some fresh air for a while so i headed off for an afternoon caching getaway. I didnt have a firm plan but started south of Nagambie and wandered further south from there, finding caches as i went and enjoying the countryside. Hughes Creek Hill Reserve - Picnic Area is find number 3,503 for me. A fun small sized traditional cache I enjoyed finding as one of my caching adventures in Strathbogie Shire. Unless otherwise mentioned above, I found the coordinates to be accurate, the cache in good condition and the log dry and with plenty of room to sign. I am logging this one on Thursday 27 June 2024 at 11:50 am and the weather is Few Clouds 10C 61% 5 m/s . Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy BernieH.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
On my way to Nagambie to do some caching I decided to give these caches a go since they had been unloved for a year and a half. I took the 2 wheel drive geo vehicle as far as I dared and walked the rest of the way along the abandoned track. After a bit of searching I located the cache and stamped the log. A worthwhile visit and great views. TFTC BernieH
All good to go, now come and find it!---Don't miss finishing the Ballarat GeoTour before it ends on 4th March 2024. A list of the geocaches can be found [here](https://coord.info/BM9GWJ5). Date: December 23, 2023 Time: 12:31 PMFind #14335On the way to Nagambie for a family Christmas do, but had heaps of time so stopped for some caches along the way.Massive thanks go to BernieH for placing this one.
Thank you for another Heidi spot can see the lights of Nagambie at night make sure you bring your own pen
Tftc BernieH. Only had time to grab 2 of the 3 in this reserve. Looks like this one is near an old quarry. On the rock face nearby you can see some vertical blast hole marks and there is also a little alcove used as a powder store. Other miscellany about too. Great Spring morning for a wander around the area.
After jumpi g around here , there and everywhere i made the find. Some nice views tftc
TFTC - Found with fellow geocaches while spending a few days exploring Nagambie. We followed the ridge line to locate this cache, as we had missed the turn which would have taken us to the base of the quarry. It was quite easy to access from above.
Couldn't sign the log as the pen wasn't working. Thanks for bringing us to this lovely spot.
Yeah?! Well here I am - almost intuitively knew it would be here! Quiet day out on the ridge. TFTC
I had met some friends for lunch in Seymour, and was heading to Nagambie to meet some other cachers to do the VNL series. As I had plenty of time to spare, I thought I would have a look at these caches as I passed by.
Unfortunately I didn't have a 4wd vehicle, and I was towing a trailer with my boat on board, but I managed to drive to each of the locations by driving very carefully.
There are some nice views to be had from these heights, and the weather was superb for this activity.
Thanks for bringing me here BernieH. I have driven past here many times, but would never have thought to explore the area without your caches.

After feathertop and my trip to the creek earlier we decided to try for some of the caches in this reserve. Reluctant to use the farm entrance we found our way to this picnic ground by a track that led us almost there. it has seen better days but still could be used.
A short walk later and the cache was ion hand.

I came here late afternoon with 6Hinemoa2. I was pretty wet from my encounter with the water at Major makes a creek so a couple of land based caches were in order to cheer me up.
I Managed to drive along a bottom road where I parked at the delapidated firepit and picnic tables.
Short walk to the top where I did the retrieving.
terrific spot, middle of nowhere it seems
Thanks BernieH

Chof_hoe called me up and asked if I wanted to finally test out the new yak that I bought myself as a Christmas present.
So a date and time was set and I headed off up to Nagambie this morning.
After finding a couple of land based ones first we parked in Turners Island Lane it was finally time to christen the new Yak on its maiden voyage.
After a great morning on the river with 11 finds it was time to pack up the yaks and head for home but as they say there is always time for one more find or three as the case might be in this area.
I have noticed Hughes Creek Hill Bushland Reserve on the map many times and finally found time to take a detour to have a look.
Worked out the best way in and got to the old picnic spot and the poor old tables and benches have seen better days.
I was able to travel on a bit further in the Mitzi and got fairly close to the cache.
Passed quiet a few skippys on the way in as well.
After a brief search I located the cache added my name to the log in took in the view from up here.
Thanks BernieH TFTC.

A late afternoon decision to come back to this reserve to find the last two unfound caches (for me), before heading back to the caravan park for the day.
We headed up to this one first as it was the shorter distance off Strays Lane, just in case i needed more time to tackle the other cache east of here.
As it turned out we managed to find a track which brought us to within about 145m of the cache.
Dressed in my best bushwalking thongs i headed off while the family waited in the shade in the geomobile. Very lucky to find this one after only a very short search, after thinking i had this one spotted from a long way back but turned out to be a lookalike red herring.
Thx BernieH for yet another great cache location, all the kangaroos here think it's pretty good too! Cheers

Rough track for the Trax but we managed to get within 60m and then made the short walk to gz. Quick find once there. Great view from up here. TFTC
Yay. This one was a good cache to end on...good view. Found this one very easy
We noticed on our Cachly that there were a few more caches to be found in this area, although they weren’t on our PQ loaded onto our GPSRS. We were able to drive to within 63mtrs of GZ and then took a wander through the Cape Weed and Nodding Blue-Lilies SL 3.52pm Took: Tiki Nice hide, and it does help one’s balance if you hold on! No picnic table though! We saw why there was no picnic table on our way out - it is now an untidy heap of rubbish on the side of the track! #6508 TFTC BernieH - on we go in the Hughes Creek Hill Reserve.
TFTC nice drive. What on earth is the black (poo like) rocks. Some have the Olympic Rings in them
The second cache for me and I would normaly have walked it, but the weather was looking iffy.
Decided to spend a day caching before the expected rain late in the week. The weather forecast for today is just to good to stay at home doing mundane "stuff".
We have 3 missions today that lead us to Seymour
1) the next WP for Cannonball Run that we started in Canberra at Easter
2) find a cache placed on 4th Dec to tick off our calendar for a challenge cache
3) grab at least 4 FTF on virtual GCA caches published earlier this year
Mission 1 & 2 complete and now making our way back home.
The GPS was a bit sketchy on the correct road in to these caches. We entered an open gate into property that looked like a new estate, but we were turned around by workmen as we should not have been there.
Almost gave up, but we soon found ourselves sharing the land with many kangaroos. Didn't have to walk too far with the 4WD.

This was find number three for today as we were out and about tracking down some trackables and the picnic area was in reach of one of the trackable caches. As per the attached photo this is a really nice area and is close to seymour and surrounds. We attacked this one from the south via the old unused picnic area where the woodfire BBQ hot plate has been shot up and the slab tables and benches have almost rotted away, In its prime this would have been a nice area. So in the Geo navara we set off up the hill towards the cache on what could be described as an unused track and after a 50M walk found this one hidden away. Signed the log and took a photo of the area, TFTC
Diverted here from the highway on a thunderstormy day for a couple of caches on the way home. Parked near the centre of this group of caches and walked to them all.
Moved carefully near this location as the first few spots of rain made for wet handholds. Cache is in good condition in its hiding place..

I was on my way up north for work and while travelling I was able to break the trip up with a few stops along the way for some caching and to stretch my legs. With a spot not yet explored, I thought I would venture out to see what this reserve was all about. It's a shame its been a bit forgotten, it was a nice place to come to. I got the two wheel drive within about 200 meters of this one before I had to walk it again. The hill was steeper than it looked and it took me a little while to find myself near the cache. Thank goodness for the hint as I was searching around for some time before I went a bit lower and found the cache.
**Thanks to BernieH for hiding this cache for us to find and enjoy**

Heading north hoping for fine weather, so far zero rain, so we are happy
With plenty of good caches and views to be had in this uncharted area we headed into the reserve to explore this bushland using the landcruiser to get us as close as possible.
We passed the derelict picnic grounds , thinking it was a shame they were not maintained but there were signs of recent use in the fire pit.
Leaving the car on the track we walked up the hill through what looked like a landscaped native garden until we got to the top to admire the great views and grabbed the cache in its natural setting.
Thanks BernieH for the cache with a view.

No picnic for me today.
My sincere apologies for the late log. I have geocaching finds dating back to 2011 in my GSAK database that I am yet to log; amounting to several thousand un-logged finds across the last 9 years.
So, what to do when you find yourself in this administrative caching 'hole' nightmare? Well you seek out a 'personal assistant' (thanks GoodLook), to assist to remedy the situation of course! I thank the CO for accepting my tardy log and for your understanding.

After once again enjoying the overnight hospitality of o.kay, I set out on a wonderful day of caching with the delightful company of o.kay. Our hunt ranged from the north of Shepparton to south as far as the Mitchelltown area. Having found the track into the reserve a cautious approach was made in a low slung vehicle. Prudence suggested parking on the boundary track and walking to find this one. Luckily we had picked the best access track to find this. At this point it was decided to leave the far cache for another day as lunch was calling. Thanks for another cache in this lovely reserve BernieH
This walk was not exactly for me at the moment. But many thanks for the cache at the end.
Nice ridge top walk continued from the quarry.
Good numbers led us straight to the Cache.
Again good views but would have been otherwise brilliant if not for the smoke haze.

Found at 12.15pm whilst on a stroll across the range. I visited the old picnic site over 20yrs ago - nothing much has changed. The views to the north are worth the walk.

Backlogging cos I'm a lousy cacher that tends to neglect COs.
As son of Cybergran V, it was great having her along here as she could fill bluewrentit, locus cache and I in on some of the more historical details of this area. [^]These were her old stomping grounds growing up somewhat more than a couple of moons ago.
With locus cache at the wheel of Harry, we took the drive by option descending the last few meters to the cache which was found in good conditionand with another magnificent view.
TFTC BernieH.
Again sorry for the late log catch up log.

Again sorry for the late log catch up log.
As I'm now 3 months behind in my logging I am desperately trying to catch up and am mass logging to do so.
bluewrentit was in Shepparton and wanted to go caching when a new cache was published.
So we grabbed dalerious and Cybergran V and headed out in Harry to go find some caches
Harry had a blast geting me some caches in a park area that had long teased me and now, when bluewrentit says 'that track doesn't go through!', Harry says 'it does!'
Awesome place in here with magic views on high and good old Aussie srub [^]
We drove, walked, bounced and scrambled and found every cache on this hill tonight
bluewrentit now agrees that a 4WD is useful

Out with caching friends we made our way, albeit slowly, to this next hide in this lovely reserve with more Kangaroos than the Outback . SL of this one at 20:26 with fading light, on Tue 9 Jan 2018. Lovely time of the evening indeed. Perfect light and lots of Kangaroos about The cache and contents are in perfect order as was the one before, further west of this one... nice containers TFTC BernieH
Found by Mary & David at 1550. Plenty of native cherry trees, and the ground was showing a hint of colour here and there from yellow everlastings. More great views, although it looks as though many years have passed since the picnic area was used. Once again David set forth on foot, and again found the cache after a short search. More great views. We should really be almost home by now, as we have to prepare for grandchildren early tomorrow, but there is always time for one more cache. Another FP for this one. Our thanks to BernieH.
Last time I was here I felt a bit uneasy about trying to locate the cache but this time I came prepared and anchored my self to a log for safety reason as I am not as young and fit as I used to be. It worked well.
The view once again was most impressive with the Canola and golden wattles
This is a great series thanks to Bernie H and I enjoyed Cybergrans V enthusiasm and skills.
A favourite point added.

E had been here before and sussed this out, but Lizzie didn't like the look of it, so I was seconded today to be his partner in crime. This time though he came prepared with apparatus that could assist him in his efforts. He skilfully and safely retrieved the cache, we signed it and replaced it, then took some great photos to remind us of our exploits. A good days work by a couple of septuagenarians. Thanks for the exercise Bernie. I hadn't expected this series to be quite so challenging, but loved the scenery it brought us to.
I have lived in Seymour for over 26 years and never knew this piece of heaven existed. Heaven it would be except for the rubbish everywhere. Why, oh why, do people have to mess up our lovely bushland area like this? Enough of my rant (a rubbish bag goes with me next time I go into this area). Thank you Bernie for showing me this lovely area.
Thanks for taking us to this magic piece of bush. Like hembee, I was appalled by the rubbish.
A quick and easy find as we cache our way through the area today. Who would have thought that tucked away in this largely forgotten reserve, that we have driven past dozens of times without even realising it was here, there would be a picnic area. Thanks BernieH for showing us a pretty little piece of bush that we would never have seen without this cache being placed here. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
TFTC. Drove up to the picnic area, which really has seen better days. Grabbed the GPS and went for a walk to find this and the Quarry. Interesting personal history. Found the cache after a few minutes of searching.
Good name for it as we had our lunch here. Didn't sit at the table as one you couldn't and the other I wouldn't have trusted the board you sit on. Enjoyed the walk to the cache, went up, then down and then up again but got the reward in the end. Cache found. Another lovely place to visit... Took TB ... TFTC

Came back with a full tank of fuel to clean these up last night, the jeep did make these ones fun park and grabs. Unfortunately the internet was out so I couldn't log them last night.
Bit easier to get to than the quarry. Lovely scenery again, but I didn't want to stop until after I'd claimed the last FTF out here.
