Found at 1:55 PM GAFF1.Managed to talk Ian from Ian & Sue Team Pathfinder to join me to get this cache which has a very desirable D/T rating that we need for our next D/T loop Looked and looked, but couldn't spot anything and then as I was about to climb up - I spotted it Well that looks a long way up so better get going before the next squall hits us. Soon found that with all the rain that has fallen recently that the tree was pretty slimy and difficult to get a good foot hold let alone a good hand hold - got quite dirty in the process. Got to the cache and signed the log book and then a tricky descent trying to avoid the muck - but that didn't work [B)]Thanks to Miss-PlacedFeedback: The piece of paper that is the log sheet is disintegrating and quite damp.
Nice find on a day out with the Geokids, the oldest couldnt find it so GeoDad had to climb the tree and soon had it in hand
I was on my bike this afternoon to grab a few caches. And i saw I needed it to help my grid so I set off to get it. It was a bit further than i thought, there were lots of cars out front but none around the back. I couldn't see it from below so I started to climb. Once in the tree I saw it and climbed a bit more before signing and returning to the ground. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find
Just a selection of caches in geraldton today, so this one looked good for the taking. Got to GZ, looked up and saw it then went up to grab it and sign it quickly. Thanks for the hide!
A nice day so took the youngest grandie and her friends out for the arvo. They certainly helped out on this one and climbed the tree like little monkeys. Didn't take long and the log (bit damp) was signed and replaced. TFTC Guys, good fun.
Took a bit to spot but once spotted hubby climbed and was able to retrieve..TFTC
On today's Cachertour through Geraldton we experienced a lot. Well-camouflaged hiding places, climbing in the trees and searching in the most extraordinary places.
We were able to find this cache today. Thanks for the cache !

This is day 2 of my Exmouth trip and today I'm heading from Geraldton to Kalbarri ! On a windy, but beautiful day I'm collecting many caches on my way north - such as several Traditionals and Earthcaches - some other cache types were also part of the list . Thanks for giving me so many opportunities to pause my journey.....
This D/T rating caught my attraction as I urgently needed it to close the last gap to qualify for GC9H4PD [:o)]. So I brought some device for easy entry and once being on the tree I could spot the little box easily... Thanks for this little adventure and of course

There was still some light left so headed over to this one. Unlike other logs we could not spot it from the bottom so up we went. Once up and look we soon spotted it and moved into place to completed the signing duties. TFTC
Caching in the Greater Geraldton area today. Our intention for the day was to attack some power trails and do map cleanup around town.
Geotrakka spotted this one from the ground while I was grabbing the other cache. She then gave me a push to get up in the tree. After that I secured the cache and signed the log. Also got a ripper photo of Geotrakka rocking my dealers! See attached for a good laugh. Cheers Miss-Placed!

Day 3 of the road trip with the boys C10,B12,L1.77 - lots of laughs and perhaps a little therapy will be needed after this trip. But one thing is for sure - I am determined to get a few more yellows on the map on my final full day here in Gero. Many thanks to the COs for the mix of caches. Sorry for the genetic log
I spotted it Lachy did the climb ( thank goodness for young Lachy!)

Definitely not an easy climb, took two of us and a lot of time. A few scratches! Had a lot of fun though! TFTC!
We read the description as we approached GZ and realised this would definitely be a Mr atCat cache! He spotted it quickly and scampered up the tree to make the find. TFTC

pug002 did not attempt, geog hubby said give me a left up and I said no way, he said if I can get up I can find it, forget it I said. Magnificent tree but too dangerous for the likes of us, thanks anyway Miss-Placed
With the help of a photo i spotted the cache, than I climbed the tree and signed the logbook.

Outnabout with Wollaston who on most occasions is the specialist for this task. Not this time and I was next in line for the arduous task. Hopefully I never have to do that again. I happily kissed the ground after my decent. Great fun though.
Grabbed while traveling our wonderful country. Found with Team Outnabout who made a magnificent climb. TFTC Miss-Placed & Gabs1963 & becknmonts.
At first glance it looked like this was going to be tough, it's a good size tree with lots of limbs to search for a micro cache. Luck must of been on my side as it wasn't too long before I sighted the little blitter. Then all I had to do was make the climb and do the signing duties. Thanks for providing a challenging cache. Log and cache in good condition.

GeoSon made the climb here. It was a bit hairy with the wind up today, but he managed to find the cache and sign the log on the bottom as he wasn’t confident of being able to roll the log whilst balancing. TFTH!
We are on a wander around the wheatbelt looking for wildflowers, Not really sure where we are headed but just taking it day by day.
We spent the night in Grealdton so I grabbed a few of these on my morning run. I didn't initially intend to do come up this way but I needed to extend my run and all these seemed to be close together so I headed out this way
Whats a bit of tree climbing when you are out for a morning jog. The hardest part was getting started. The cache was easy to spot once I had started climbing. I normally drop the log on these ones and need to climb down and do it again, thankfully it was not the case today.
This was find number 3 for the day.

Hi there Miss-Placed.
We found your cache **"Orange Tree Series - Kicking About"** at 1:00:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 22606).
We are staying in Geraldton for a few days catching up with friends. When we had a free moment we started our caching run by nominating this series and then took a route that was sometimes determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. We thoroughly enjoyed our interesting trek around the local area
An extending ladder that was not quite long enough and quite a few ants made finding this blue bison a challenging exercise. We ended up finding a variety of container types, and sizes hidden along our route. (5 finds today & 1 DNF's). Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic travels around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 3m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Not a simple climb for me, but I made it. Thanks Miss-Placed & Gabs1963 & becknmonts for the hide.
Found FF today after a little trouble looking we read the comments and like other people this little gem was spotted from the ground. Don't think I could have climbed myself easily, luckily I had a group of geokids with me
Out with Lazarus_68 And Gabs1963 finely found after many times looking for this one ,
eagle eye Lazarus-68 spotted it.

A beautiful day to be caching and enjoying the scenery along the way to Northhampton and Port Gregory and back to Geraldton with iluvtrekking. Lucky we carry the required equipment with us for just such challenges. While Mr iluvtrekking steadied the apparatus, geo-hubby scaled the tree and recorded our visit. Boy that tree is very slippery and he almost arrived back on terra firma the direct way instead of via the apparatus. Thanks becknmonts
Today we headed out to Nabawa and on to Northhampton and Port Gregory with richlink.
We really enjoyed ourselves meandering around, stopping to talk to a local farmer, a chance meeting with old friends in Northhampton, a couple of blokes feeding and watering a semi full of racing pigeons in preparation for release tomorrow morning and a back packer asking for directions to Hutt River Province. And of course a cache or two along the way as well.
Thanks becknmonts we had quick the adventure here.

Headed up to Geraldton for 4 days to try and find as many caches as we could. Its been 6 months since we were last there and there has been so many new caches come out that we will need another trip there to find them all. We ended up finding 215 and about a dozen DNFS. We picked a few up on the way and did a detour on the way home to Mullewa and i must say the wildflowers are beautiful at the moment. We found a great variety of caches including a couple of wherigo,s, lots of field puzzles, multi,s and the highlight for the hubby was doing the chirp cache. I would like to say all caches were found quickly but that definately wasnt the case lol.... There was some very tricky and sneaky hides that took quite a while to find with a few we went back a couple of times to till we found them. We managed to find a few that we previously had DNFS on and it was was great finding a lot of creative cache containers especially some of the field puzzle ones. Thanks to everyone for the caches and hope to find a lot more on our next trip to geraldton....
Originally logged under clan-wallace. Geohubby wants his own caching name so guess who is relogging the lot for him?
On a road trip to Gero for the IGD event with Kyzabra, jinta29 and SVKR_WA. Lots of good hearted banter was flung too and fro over the weekend while picking up several dozen caches about the place.
On the Friday night and we had a bit of get together with some of the other Perth caching teams that made the trip and came up with a plan to tackle a couple of the tree climbing caches about town early today.
After a few minutes milling around someone spotted it from the ground and it was a simple matter of finding the correct path to the cache.
becknmonts I found your cache at 6:57am, this was the 1st of 40 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 3382. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

The IGD Geraldton trip is fast becoming a MUST ATTEND weekend and this was my second trip up. Joining forces with Jinta29, Granett and SVKR_WA, we bundled into the SanteFe and headed up.
After a big day yesterday, we hit the ground running with an early start again today.
A couple of early first to finds, followed by some tree climbing, then a trip up to Northhampton.
The ladder was put into use here. A step up the tree and quickly spotted.
becknmonts - Kyzabra found your cache Orange Tree Series - Kicking About . This is my find #3 today. The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for placing and maintaining your cache.!

This was our first target for the day and I drew the short straw to go up and get it . A neat cache here and I had plenty of moral support
The second day of our Geraldton IGD trip and we had a plan to grab a few oddball D/T rated caches around town and also a few caches north of Geraldton . Kyzabra, Granett, SVKR_WA and I had an early start today as we had a fair distance to cover. This one was on the list, thanks for the cache

TFTC! Today was day two of the "boys weekend" with me and Cravo heading up to Geraldton for IGD 2016, my third trip to this great part of our state and johns second. Think we will continue to do this every year? Especially with all of the new caches getting published around town!!
We picked up a number of new caches along the route and even some that we had missed on previous visits, being in a 4wd this year made it a lot easier to get to some of the hard to reach places that a 2wd would struggle to get to.
Started day two meeting up with Kyzabra, Jinta, Grannett, SVKR, M4YB, clan Wallace and others to grab some orange tree series caches. We grabbed two and missed two, with safety being a first
Priority, two of them were just simply too high up even with some pretty series ladders!!
We then headed out to Nanson, Nabawa and finally to Northampton to complete the Nabawa Bound caches and everything Inbetween whilst dodging cyclists on the "tour de Geraldton" as we dubbed it. Was some really nice country driving today, this is way I love about caching, getting out and seeing the state on remote country roads.
We headed into Northhampton and found our first cache at the window entrance to town, and were surprised not to see the motley crew of Kyzabra, Jinta, Grannett and SVKR as they were heading to Northampton from the orange tree series so I thought it only fitting to leave them a nice little note in the logbook. We grabbed a couple of other caches around town and were met up by the motley crew at one of them, before we basically joined forces to grab the caches between Northampton and Geraldton. With six sets of eyes the caches didn't really stand much of a chance, although we did have to PAF at one!!
We made our way back into town and grabbed a bunch of caches with the motley crew along the Alexander trail where we signed logs at team PGC, don't really know what it means but that's what we signed the first fifteen or so with until the motley crew decided they need lunch and went their own way and we continued to finish the series and met up with other cachers further down who were out enjoying the sunshine.
Grab a couple of other "must do" caches the chirp chirp cache (highly recommended), Roxy rotunda (previous multiple DNF), something fishy (think we've tried for about five times!!) which was great as we had no DNFs which is very good for Geraldton!!
After lunch we headed back to the room to get ready for the event, arriving slightly later than planned we were only there for a short time before caches were published!! Someone announced twenty four emails had come though and I loaded the map and started running north to the nearest cache, gaining some valuable meters on the competition
It was like a scene from the IKEA ad, with Cravo asking if he should get he car and me yelling back "GET THE CAR!!" So I legged it to the first cache and he got the car and picked me up, it was the first of about fifteen FTFs for the day, we
Completed all of the caches north of the event and then looped back around to grab the caches furthest north and then back toward the event. We had a couple of DNFS Which was disappointing.
We headed back to the event and had the pleasure of completing some of geraldtons finest caches, the shake rattle roll, emergency were awesome. We were one of the few teams that actually didn't need the CO to assist by bringing the key!! Definitely a favourite and probably easier doing it with a beer in hand by the foreshore!!
After finishing the event we had a quick drive out to grab the new plane caches, got 3/4 there and then headed down to the water to complete he whereigo cache (highly recommended) and the two traditionals on the walk. Can't wait for tomorrow's adventure.
Thanks to the local COs for their caches

Headed to Geraldton for the International Geocaching Day event on Saturday 20th August.
Barnzy12 and I packed the car at 6am and headed North. Despite making a critical error by choosing the freeway to start the journey we then made it to Geraldton and checked into the motel.
Today was day two and started with a little tree climbing caches with a group of others.
We then headed further north today prior to returning to gero for the event at 2pm.
That's a fine tree. Mr fratra spotted this on & we had bribed Jinta29 to scale the heights for us. TFTC
An early start by the motley caching crew today. Cache was spotted by Mr Fratra and jinta29 went the furtherest to grab the cache and do signing duties. Thanks for this great Geraldton cache, beckmonts.
An early morning start and fra spotted the cache way overhead. The most agile made the ascent and signing duties were performed. TFTC becknmonts & Miss-Placed & Gabs1963 this is find number 1211 for us.

Found with axell33, the cache was on the ground, climbed to try and find its place but wasn't able to. Looked about for the top aswell, without success, axell33 then climbed up, found where we thought it went placed in a plastic bag and put in place in tree but needs a new top. Tyftc
Found this one with Leega whilst looking around Geraldton. Found the cache and log on the ground so Leega climbed up looking for its home with no luck. So it was my turn and after a search found where I believed it lived. The lid seems to be missing so we placed it in a plastic bag (sorry all we had) and attached it to its home. So it will need to be replaced with a new one. We searched below for the lid with no joy. TFTC becknmonts.
By now it was getting a whole lot colder, while I pulled on my wet weather gear in an effort to keep the wind out, Ian climbed the tree. No one around this afternoon, probably all sitting in their warm homes! Ian climbed higher and eventually spotted the cache. Log signed and all replaced it was time to get back on our bikes and head for home.
thanks Becknmonts & Miss-Placed.

tempting me,
daring me to climb up
I tried, but again, a step too far

When we planned our Excellent adventure to WA one of the challenges was always going to be keeping a first to find streak alive which we did yesterday for May with another in the Orange Tree cache series
Our adventure so far has included a kangaroo charging and head-butting our car left rear door while we were effectively stopped. And the biggie, which was the differential internal locking bolts starting to undo themselves while we were on the Menzies to Sandstone road a mere 570km east of Geraldton.
This enforced a change of plan brought us (Brad&Janet and Mr and Mrs Grumpi68) to Geraldton. Which has not been a bad thing at all. It is a very nice place with very friendly people. Today our 4WD has finished being rebuilt and it is time to head off. But maybe we'll have time to look for the two remaining Orange Tree caches on our way North?
This was the closest and looked to be the least difficult. Plus it is another one needed for our 7th DT loop
At GZ the tree looked very climbable, and it was as both Grumpi68 and I demonstrated.
But there are ants.
Bull ants.
Lots of bull ants.
Bull ants bite.
It adds to the difficulty trying to climb, hang on, and look for a cache, all while trying to avoid staying still long enough for the ants to get you. And at the same time trying to spot the elusive little cache. We've found two others in the series. It must(?) be similar, but we can't see it!
Where is it? We are running out of time.
And just as we were about to DNF Grumpi68 spotted it. Phew!
I did the needful and reascended to add our initials to the log. More bull ants.
That's 3 for 3 so far in the series. And still time for a quick look for number 4

TFTC again becknmonts & Miss-placed & Gabs1963. Love your work.
2people will make this a heck of a lot easier.
The ants are an obstacle but kudos too anyone who successfully gets this one.
This one was our last cache for the day, as circus instructors this was our warm up and stretch for the morning looking like the most ungraceful squirrels scurrying up a random tree.
Was great fun though thanks for the cache.

This tree was tricky to get up with it being wet!! Gave up on this one as me trying to climb it in the rain was hopeless haha
Upon arrival there was a car parked nearby with a man inside. We were wondering how we were going to manage this with a muggle so close when thankfully he drove away. Yay, free to search and we were glad that no one was there to witness the climbing attempts that followed. It may have been the clumsiest most undignified tree climbing ever. After several attempts GeoJ was finally playing at being one of the many ants scurrying over the tree. With knowledge of another tree hide he made this find quicker. Phew! Another challenging one and another fave point. Thanks for stretching us to our limits!
