Logs

I am regretfully archiving this cache since unfortunately there has been no action to restore it, or any communication from the cache owner, gabs1963, requesting additional time.

An ample opportunity has been provided for the Cache Owner to respond, but since this opportunity has been ignored, I can only conclude that the cache has been abandoned.

Caches archived under these circumstances are unable to be Unarchived, and this location is now available for the placement of a new cache, by somebody else.

##Cache Maintenance Required please.##
This geocache has been brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit, to address the issue described in the logs.
The cache owner needs to either fix the problem or archive the listing, after picking up any geo-litter. In the meantime, I've temporarily disabled the cache page.
See the maintenance section of the [Geocache Hiding Guidelines](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines?expand=1#cachemaintenance).

If there is a good reason for a delay in enabling this cache, please post an update note log here on the cache page so that everyone will know what's going on.
When the maintenance is completed, you can re-enable the listing by entering an "Enable Listing" log, and then post an "Owner Maintenance" log to clear the "Needs Maintenance" attribute, if set.

I will check back in 30 days to be sure that the maintenance has been done, or that further information has been provided.

If there has been no action to repair the cache, or explain the situation, unfortunately I will need to Archive this cache. Caches archived because of lack of maintenance will not be unarchived.

The Geocaching Community needs to have a degree of certainty that a cache is out there to be found, and the CO has a responsibility to maintain their caches.

Thank you

I'm camping on the Cape for a few days so was up early for a walk before breakfast. This was the nearest cache to my tent but I saved it for today so I could pick it up as part of a longer walk along the Greenough River Trail. The area was deserted so was able to walk straight up and make an immediate find in the first place I looked Smile If only that were to happen more often, lol. No problems here, a quick easy grab to get my find count off to a good start this morning - TFTC

We, that is Zauberkeks and Cacheaffairs, enjoyed a 4 week trip from Darwin to Perth and would like to express our thanks to all cache owners for the learning experience and the awesome views and places!

We stayed here at the local Campground and enjoyed the two beaches and its bird life during a little stroll along the waterlines.

Thanks for luring us here and greetings from Germany,

Stopped at this cache whilst on a roadtrip with Eliktrisiti. We didn't find as many caches in the Geraldton area as we had hoped for, and after being home for a week or so, I have decided that the motto I would adopt for these logs would be this: It isn't the destination that is important, it is the journey!

In a nutshell, we had fun and that is what it is all about. Great company, lots of interesting locations, good variety of caches, even got to meet one of the local geocachers while out and about, and of course, we came home with a whole swag of smileys.

This cache was found on the second day. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache gabs1963 & miss-placed and for showing us around the Greenough/Geraldton area.

What a grand weekend it has been, thoroughly enjoyed the event yesterday and meeting lots of new faces and teams.

Our second on our way back eastward, met a guy looking around GZ and I enquired as to whether he a a fellow cacher and he looked at me blankly and then we talked about the fruit or lack of it on the native trees at GZ.

Nice easy find for me here thanks gabs1963.

TFTC! Today was day one of the "boys weekend" with me and Cravo heading up to Geraldton for IGD 2016, my third trip to this great part of our state and johns second. Think we will continue to do this every year? Especially with all of the new caches getting published around town!!

We drove up the coastal route to cleanup the last of what we had left, so that we could concentrate on the various alternate routes on the way home and on our trip to Geraldton and Mullewa next week for the annual Mullewa Gift event.

We picked up a number of new caches along the route and even some that we had missed on previous visits, being in a 4wd this year made it a lot easier to get to some of the hard to reach places that a 2wd would struggle to get to.

We completed a few really nice caches at cliff head including a legendary Liz and Bruce hide and a couple of ten year old caches.

We got to Greeenough and decided to complete the greenough walk trail caches as well as the caches along Delvin road, knowing that we wouldn't be heading back this way on the way home.

The greenough walk trail was great except for getting two flat tyres from some slow leaks that happened to go a bit faster!!

We then moved our attention to the planes series, which was just bliss, chewed through about 25 caches in just over an hour with Cravo and me taking turns at finding the most likely spot for a cache from about two hundred meters away.

We then meandered around town cleaning up a bunch of caches that have either been recently published or we've missed previously. Had a couple of DNFs, nowhere near as many as I famously had last year, but I might have to refresh my notes from some local cache owners who I'm looking forward to meeting at the event tomorow.

Thanks to the local COs for their hospitality so tatami their cool caches.

Headed to Geraldton for the International Geocaching Day event on Saturday 20th August.

Barnzy12 and I packed the car at 6am and headed North. Despite making a critical error by choosing the freeway to start the journey we then made it to Geraldton and checked into the motel by 5.30pm.

We found several caches along the way some new, old and even archived caches. As I missed the event last year I was guided to some others on the map that I hadn't found before and made for some quicker finds yet still enjoyable.

Ended up back at the motel after getting the new plane spotting series and some other caches close to the city centre at around 9pm. Beers were cold and was then time to relax. After a 15 hour day sleep was needed ready for the big day tomorrow.

Hi there gabs1963.

We found your cache **"Cape Burney's playful hideaway"** at 11:33:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 14307.

On this section of our odyssey we traveled from Broome via the inland route - Newman, Meekatharra, Mount Magnet, etc, and then west to Geraldton. We haven't stopped for many caches en-route so now we are settled here for a while we plan to find a few more. Twisted

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area today. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many wonderful caches in interesting places.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache around 5 metres from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge.

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny.

Day 5 of our road trip to Geraldton and a better day than yesterday if you don't count the morning - which we missed Wink. We had a good afternoon visiting a number of quality caches and only got rained on twice which was OK given we got a good 2 hour walk in and topped it off with coffee and cake on the fore shore at the end of the day. Big Grin

A quick find sign & replace. Big Grin

Thanks for the cache gabs1963 [^] - we made the find and the cache was in good order and the log dry Cool.

This was find # 7 of 16 Smile and 0 Sad today giving us a total cache count of 3194.

Lovely spot! Had to be sneaky with muggles lurking in the playground! TFTC!

Our final cache for the day and a nice easy one too. We watched as a kayaker paddled down the beautifully glassey river, looked like something out of a travel broucher. I wouldn't have minded a paddle myself but then remembered how cold it would be.

thanks gabs1963 & Miss-Placed.

A new caching day dawned Smile
A really nice,, warm, sunny type of caching day Big Grin
And after checking into the nearby ... ahem !! ..."caravan park"** last night I was off bright and early on the bicycle to find me some caches alongside the Greenough River Big Grin

First stop was here !!
A great riverside stop Smile
This area does indeed have all that is mentioned in the cache notes [^]

And at the end of a road, I soon found this little cache Big Grin

TFTC !! [^]

** Caravan park is an overstatement Razz
The Double Beach Holiday Park is your typical, rundown, full of residents, caravan park Sad
Me cabin for the next few nights, is ok I s'pose,
but it is like living in a mining camp [:o]
Minus the benefits ... like not having to pay for the accommodation, and there is no canteen where you can eat all you want on the bosses salary Razz

This caravan park is like most privately owned, not affiliated with any franchise, caravan park in WA ...
... utter crap !! [:o]
Lost somewhere back in the 1980's when the cabins were first installed.
And after years of neglect, barely acceptable in this modern world Twisted
If it were not for the 80% of residents in the park, this caravan park would go bankrupt.
And the owners don't spend a cent more than they have to Sad

The owners do like their beer however.
So I do have something in common Big Grin

You have been warned !! Razz

27-May-16
Oh yeah !! And if that last cache log didn't get your attention.
I now have to listen to the local quad bikers tearing the cwap out of the scenery around the estuary at 9:00 o'clock at night Sad

This area needs saving badly !!
Alas the efforts of a few cannot compete with the ingrained dirt biking, quad biking, 4WDing morons that rule this area and tear down any attempts at conservation Sad

After attacking a few nearby caches we gave the kids a chance to play on the playground for a bit while we searched for another. GZ was located quickly and the likely hiding place spotted, then GeoJ had to do the crazy ant dance in order to get the cache. GeoR did her bit in signing before returning it to GeoJ so he could put it back again. TFTC Gabs1963.

I had to wait out some muggles when finding this cache! I didn't bring the boys today, so people tend to look strangely at me when I'm in parks without them. Cache is in good condition. TFTC Gabs1963 & Miss-Placed
