Another fun day out adventuring with doddlingalong. Our plan to kayak and cache aborted due to high winds we went to plan B. Our second visit adding to our Mt Disappointment collection. TFTC
Out for another grand day of caching adventures with carmlee1, quick find and on we go
Thanks for the cache, recently found with lilbassgirl. Slowly working my way through the whole series; hoping to find all active caches by end of 2025, but poor weather, shiftwork and other factors may prevent that goal from being met. Very generic logging, it's gonna become boring if you're reading all my found logs quickly.
Many thanks carkisser for providing this game piece for our enjoyment. And thanks for sharing the highlights of your region.
OzHockeyChick was in need of some caches so we found ourselves on an afternoon adventure in Mt Disappointment.I have found bits and pieces of this trail, however today was a chance to make a solid dint in the series. Only the outside of the log was damp. All good for signing. Thanks carkisser for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! Be sure to find all the caches and earn the souvenir before the tour is archived. The [Farewell Ballarat GeoTour Event - GCAFQ8B](https://coord.info/GCAFQ8B) is on 18 February 2024.Are you ready to nominate in the 2023 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards? Start preparing by checking out the 2023 geocaching lists available [here](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists/) and find some of the new caches ahead of nominations opening.
Teamed up with RoamingHowie to smash out a few more of the Dissa series. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, carkisser ~~
Found by caughtatwork on 28/01/2024 at 3:03:00 PMA nice walk along Clonbinane Road on a rather warm summer afteroon, finding some geocaches.Took nothing, left nothing. Thanks for placing this geocache here for us to find today, for without those who like to hide geocaches, there would be nothing around for those who like to find geocaches.*Overall Experience: 3*GAFF1

Find#6204Nice hiding place Found with the adventure boys during the Whittlesea mega 2022Thanks for the cache
A trip to this region of the Australia was planned. In order to search and find a few caches here, various caches were dragged onto the Garmin. When we got here we saw a nice power trail. Without further ado, we organized various groceries to make ends meet. Filled up the rental car again and off we went. Our 4 WD-Truck is ready for this trip! After some time of starting this challenge, we came across here as well. We had to search a little longer for one or the other cache. Thanks to the owner for laying, caring for and guiding. TFTCKind regards from Germany
Day 2 to complete some caches to get to 2000 for first anniversary of caching. Here at Mt Disappointment to do some of this series.
Thanks for the cache carkisser

Waking up in Rutherglen this morning, it was raining cats and dogs. So we decided to head south where the skies were clearer and attack some more of the Mt Disappointment series. We had been here a few years back and did a chunk of them, so it was good to be able to revisit today and knock off a heap more. We only have a small handful left plus the challenge caches left up here to do after this trip.
A lot of the older caches need some loving, the logs were pretty bad at some of them but it was great to see a heap of original containers (loved the ones with the engraved lids). We were fortunate with the weather here, only one small shower and the roads were in pretty good condition. Seen lots of muggles with their trailers and chainsaws which was concerning (being there are allocated firewood collection points for muggles).
Thanks for the trail carkisser & JSando, apologies for the cut/paste logs, glad to be able to get some more smilies up here. Thanks for the fun day out in the mud FFLL

It was pouring rain when we woke this morning so Rapidlywild and I decided to head up to Mt. Disappointment to hopefully get out of the rain and try to finish off this trail that we had started a few years ago. We were lucky to have a clear day with one quick shower while on the trails. A successful day although we still have a few to go as well as the challenges, we will be back one day.
This trail could really do with a maintenance run and some TLC. But there are also still a lot of original caches here too which was good to see.
Thanks for the trail carkisser & JSando and thanks Rapidlywild for a fun and busy day.

Whittlesea Mega Trip Day 5. Now that Mega weekend is over I decided to stay on for a bit to try a bit more caching in the region. First was the Markets event. I then headed into Mernda to do the Labs and some of the caches there, but it was frustrated by some very heavy rain storms. I went back to the show grounds for a break before deciding to have another go at some caching, this time at the base of Mt Disappointment.
Thanks for the cache carkisser

Turns out there’s a car wash at Broadford and, what do you know, more powertrail caches on this side of the hump May as well get it dirtier before washing Lovely day once the sun came out. Did a bit of maintenance on the hop and will note in those cache logs.

Came up this morning to do some maintenance on my Letterbox just down the road, figured I might as well grab a few more of these caches along the way.
Most caches were found in good condition but a few were damp or wet. Didn't look for any of the disabled ones.
Still wondering if this power trail is going to grow again?
**Thanks for placing this cache carkisser**

Today was planned as another triangular drive into Wandong and back to find whatever caches we felt like. A bit hard to stay on track here actually. The caching was fine and successful, but the town blew me away. It is so pretty, calm and peaceful compared to the general mayhem of the world at the moment. The bakery was a treat too.
The drive itself was enjoyable and all caches that we went for bar 2 were found - one DNF and the other replaced - they will be logged separately. Excuse the generic log but I think we found about 70 today and it was not possible for us to find that many in a day if we stopped to make notes and completely impossible for us oldies to remember individual caches.
Thanks again carkisser & jsando for this remarkable trail. All logs were signed SG and dated.

Caching today with Tally Tiger and Angelique Anja after the Whittlesea lead up event. Full log is the same as Angelique Anja and Tally Tiger. Thanks for the cache carkisser & JSando.
Two days after our last trek to the mountain, Team ZACAATT returned in an effort to finish what we had started.
Not entirely sure what would happen with the weather we headed into Whittlesea for the first lead up event to the next Victorian mega. Our plan was to get the last lot of the Mt Disappointment trail, but we were prepared to turn around and drive home with thunder storms predicted for the day, but as the meet ended, the sun was shining and we took off, first taking on caches that we had DNFd on our very first trek up the mountain in 2017.
Then it was on to the caches that we missed two days before. We had a completely different day for the third time. Zedaycee and AngéliqueAnja both took falls and there were a collection of bugs and spiders that returned to the car on unsuspecting cachers.
At one DNF location (we DnFd 2 today) we found an adorable little lizard sunning himself.
Eventually the rain and the thunder and the lightning did come and we had to make the decision to turn around and go home. It was windy and pouring as we drive home, 8 more caches that we had planned to do left undone.
--- --- ---
Why did the chicken cross the road?
It had to expand its Search Radius!

On his approaching them soon afterwards, though without seeming to have any intention of speaking, Miss Lucas defied her friend to mention such a subject to him; which immediately provoking Elizabeth to do it, she turned to him and said:
“Did you not think, Mr. Darcy, that I expressed myself uncommonly well just now, when I was teasing Colonel Forster to give us a ball at Meryton?”
“With great energy; but it is always a subject which makes a lady energetic.”
“You are severe on us.”
“It will be her turn soon to be teased,” said Miss Lucas. “I am going to open the instrument, Eliza, and you know what follows.”

This series was on the cards today, most of the caches I did were all in good condition, unfortunately it seems some of the cache sbetween 45-69 are missing due to widening of the road were I had quite a few DNFs.
Caches between 184-191 need replacing as they are all wet.
Cache from 180-140 are in great condition and were all quickly located.
Overall I had a good trip and a good few hours out finding these
Today was a big day out, well it felt like it anyway. With the rain coming out of the clouds early I was unsure if my plan would be put to action. After hosting an event in the morning the skies seemed to clear so off I went in search of some Mount Disappointment caches. After finding just over 100 of them I decided to pull the pin and head back to Melbourne to do some more interesting caches. Some multis were on the cards and some finals were located but due to the amount of high muggles frequency due to this so called thing of “school holidays”, I had to leave the caches. Finished off the day with an event near Marvel stadium and on the Spirit to Tasmania.
A great day out with 118 finds. A good few days in vic finished off.
Thanks for the cache

Day two of my driving lesson. 7:00 to 12:30. Thanks to finding a few more yesterday than planned I was able to sign off on things here by lunchtime, which left me with plenty of time to drive up country to my next destination at a leisurely pace with a coffee stop or two along the way. Day 3 of my Dad’s Mt Disappointment Driving Lesson series. Today finishing off the 143-180 sequence before some extras. All caches found in good condition along this track. Had PAF help from carkisser CO at one junction. Return trip required to complete the mountain. Happy Easter.

Dad’s Mt Disappointment Driving Lesson Run Number Two.
Well after a much later than anticipated start the Inspectorrex team got to work where we left off. Starting at cache # 138 and made it thru to cache #227 which was the end of a string and a long to go back to get to #228. As light was fading fast Along with a couple of side caches not related to this series. Apologies for the generic logging however these caches were all logged in the evening after the days caching was completed. A very big thankyou to carkisser and JSando for setting up and maintaining this wonderful power series. We will be back in May to complete some more of the series.
Thanks for the Caches from the Inspectorrex team.

A very big thankyou to carkisser and JSando for setting up and maintaining this wonderful power series. We will be back in May to complete some more of the series.
Thanks for the Caches from the Inspectorrex team.
2 day caching trip with Sioux & Leesa we have stamped log with our Geo Nerds stamp for Bounty Trackers, Borisb&natasha & Gonefishen.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Found with BorisB&Natasha and Bounty Trackers. We signed the log with our stamp Geo Nerds.
On a fun weekend with these two doing as many of these caches as we can while here. TFTC we had a great time. Stayed at Flowerdale pub overnight back for some more fun today.

After rain called play last night it was back on the road with Gonefishen07 and Bounty Trackers for an early morning start.
Thoroughly enjoyed the caches, the area and the company.
Thanks for placing these caches

This not DeJa boys or vous at all but nice day for a dads drive now the rain has stopped. Another plus is the joe blakes may not like the cool change. Guess I’ll head home eventually. TFTC and the journey. Certainly a marathon for a solo traveller and too many for me in one day so looking forward to heading deeper into the forest and maybe even camping sometime. Not at all disappointing!
This stretch of Clonbinane Road is lovely and quiet
So I was enjoying the casual caching,
with a cache to find at every convenient parking spot [^]
The caches along the rural roadsides are much, much easier to find than those in the forests
So I was actually making good time along the trail despite not rushing

Great day out with Team Justice, successfully completing this wonderful series in a day. The challenge has appealed to us for a long time, and it was incredibly satisfying to be able to complete it. Throughout the day we often marveled at the size and quantity of the containers you must have had at home in order to lay these out. Thanks so much carkisser for this astonishingly ambitious and well executed series. We loved it!
A plan was hatched with Clint & Abby over 12 months ago when we saw these caches come out over time. We could get 100, nah, let’s get them all and soon after a few drinks we decided to attempt the lot in 1 day. Time passed and somehow we found ourselves talking about it at a recent event (yes, and more drinks). Let’s do it after Christmas, ok. So, we meet in Wallan at 6am to begin the long day.
We had a few ideas to speed up our caching given we were trying to find 300+ caches in a day and that our previous record was about 60 in a day so this was going to be tough. We put the GPS and pens on lanyards do we could keep our hands few when getting the cache and didn’t have to pick up or get things out of our pockets. We did shifts of 1 hour, so one person did the driving, ate, re-hydrated and relaxed, while the other cached for the hour. The driver also provided the clue up front between caches as the cacher counted the distance down to the cache.
Now to the clues. Tree, stump, log, rock! We were getting a good chuckle over the clues, ‘beside tree’, we are in a forest! We found some of the ‘logs’ were not yet logs (i.e. trees), but they were close most of the time. We thought there might be some sort of random clue generator sometimes.
To the numbers. 330 caches attempted in 10 hours and 22 minutes. We had 7 DNFs and a total of 323 finds. This meant an average find time (including DNFs) of 1 minute, 53 seconds. We were quite amazed at the speed we could go and how quick you could find, sign and move on. It also comes down to the great containers laid out by carkisser for this power trail. Nice and large, and easy to find and extract the logs. We only came across one Eclipse time late in the day. Our biggest hour of finds was our 5th hour of 42 finds. This averaged out at 1 minute and 25 seconds per cache.
Overall, we had a great time as it was a challenge to push ourselves to get all these caches. We loved the layout and the effort to place all these caches. Thanks so much to carkisser for the caches.

#8796 - 12:33; After a weekend of caching with Sol de lune in Melbourne in conjunction with the Parkville 2018 Mega, it was time to head back north along the highway for home. Took a short detour so I could collect a few more in this series, which has seen a bit of action this weekend! TFTC carkisser & JSando
Thanks to the long weekend back home, I was able to pop over the ditch for the mega and a ‘few’ caches along the way! I was really after the numbers on this trip, planning to achieve 50+ each of the three days for a challenge – something that is getting much more difficult back home! The weather was great and I had a ball thanks to all the CO’s placing great caches!
I left a couple unfinished tails on this trail, and I am glad to report that I was able to come and complete the rest on this trip! TFTC!!

Over in Melbourne for Parkville Event started early this Morning after I landed in Melbourne, with Becknmonts and Loulou0212 we saw some beautiful scenery
After Becknmonts and I picked gabs1963 up from the airport we headed out to start our day, a beautiful quick stop at Melbourne’s first before we headed to start this trail, thanks so much for putting theses caches out, I really enjoyed them - definitely a first for me getting my geo car off the road and on some dirt - TFTC carkisser
I had a great day out today after LouLou0212 and myself picked Gabs1963 up for the airport. We headed to “Melbourne’s First” and then onto this trail as Gabs1963 has cached our her 450km radius, so she wanted some “easy numbers”. Thanks so much for placing this trail carkisser
I'm in Melbourne for a few day's with Horsesrule1990, heading to the event and to pick up as many caches as possible. Once the Melbourne Mega raps up we will head to the Gold Coast , for a few day hitting all the fun parks. Then heading back to Western Australia, and back to Work. Would like to thank everyone for there caches and there effects hiding then for us to find.all Tftc.
We arrived in the area with a particular plan and that was to do the Dad's Mt Disappointment Driving Lesson trail. All caches were found or replaced (with the permission of the owner) Some still need the logs replaced but we ran out of supplies.
This trail was done with Hans and Linda, the jumping in and out of the car was shared, the driving was shared, lunch was had on the trail where ever we found a place that appealed to us.
Some shots were fired near one of the caches which startled the crap out of us. We did not think that you were allowed to shoot here. The roads were a mixture of good, bad and ugly. Thankfully it was dry it did try very hard to rain but all we saw was not enough to wet the car or us.
We apologise for the generic logs, this does not mean we thought any less of this series. We appreciate the effort that has gone into placing this trail and maintaining it, this is why we were more than happy to help with some maintenance.

TFTC. We had planned a big day of caching with friends Muff1. Our aim was to complete as much as possible of the Mt Dissappointment trail. In general all of the caches were quickly to hand and signed. We attempted to do as many as possible without having to double back on ourselves.
Away for a long weekend of caching with Freddo and Four Fun.
Over 300 caches in 4 days means that the logs will be mainly generic.
The main target of our mission was to finish off the Mt Disappointment series. We achieved our target along with other caches as we headed east and then west.
My apologies for the generic logs.

Logging a find as part of the 4FW crew for this giant series. A lot of work has gone into putting this series together. Thanks to Dad and your helpers. All caches were found and logged. The driving was a lots of fun on a beautiful day.
This is my third day getting Driving Lessons. I must be difficult to teach because I haven't finished all the lessons yet. A prefect spring day - I didn't meet any other cachers. I will drop a few Hearts along the way in recognition of the mammoth effort put in by Carkisser and JSondo.
Two caches were missing, 285 and 140. Thanks a million carkisser and JSando.

#3227 A big day of caching with the aim to collect big numbers and collect a bunch of souvenirs. The geohounds tagged along for the adventure. A cool day with the temperature floating around 7-9 degrees, but much fun had. A handful of dnfs but lots of finds. We found the coords to be pretty good, a few damp logsheets but no trouble signing. Thanks for all the effort carkisser and JSando.
Wheelie good hide here
Wheelie good hide here
Today I doubled my find count for the year, which is probably a good thing because I’ve just about hidden more than I’ve found in 2018!
It was a frosty start to the day but I was not standing around to long at each of the Mt Dissa caches I found.
I enjoyed my brief time in the area and completed the HQ hidden creatures challenge.

Talking about rusty things....how good does it look with the rain coming down over the hills. TFTC
Hume and Hovell were wrong. This place should be called Mt Rewarding. This was my 3rd visit here with Cybergran V and with the days haul of 102 finds (including 3 randoms) we now have 199 of this series completed and (when logged) all 13 virtual souvenirs currently on offer in the bag. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou carkisser & JSando for this amazing opportunity to crank the numbers when most needed.
Easy find for dalerious as the sun has come out now.
The clues provided make it much quicker to find these caches on the power trail.
The next fifty will be slower as I haven’t written out a list of them as a ready reckoned.

Finding a few more along this amazing trail. What a mammoth effort in placing all these caches for us to enjoy as we relive your driving lesson of long ago. We are luckier as the roads are in much better state TFTC carkisser & JSando
Our third visit to work on this series before we head to Marong for the remainder of the Queens Birthday and our Grandsons 2nd Birthday. TFTC
This was one epic series, it had it all, easy finds, tougher finds, lots of dirt road driving, steep hills, bush bashing, open logged forest, deep dense forests and a leech or 2 to throw in the mix. Both me and TheSkype traveled from the ACT to cache in Victoria and this series certainly is one to bump up the tally which I personally believe is only for die-hard cachers. Do not bring a newbie here, it might get tough, zap their mind and they might never want to cache again. We camped at Andersons Garden campground and this was our base for the 3 days we spent caching. Thanks again pleasure to do business and explore this historic part of Victoria. TFTC. Day 1
#2431 A quick find with the Green-martian, both of us from Canberra. Travelled in a 4x4 Outback for over 16 hours, over 3 days. Averaged 20 finds per hour hitting 30 finds an hour between #206 to #235. Found a total of 323 caches with 10 DNFs. What a marvel it was finding this series. All park n grabs with the car and GPS covered in dust. Weather was warm for April. Thanks carkisser & JSando for this epic series of caches.
