11:46 Our 250th cache and our first in the Netherlands. This one was the closest cache to our hotel. We found this while looking for a place to hire some bikes. What a great tower and a nice place. Sunday not a good day for hiring bikes, everything seemed to be closed. Dankuwel for the cache.

It is fun geocaching in a strange city when you only have legs and public transport to get around. I had a fair idea what I would be looking for before I set out. I took a tram that seemed to go in the right direction--it dropped me 990m from the cache.

I wandered around the housing estate, gradually getting closer, until I saw it with 500m to go. Smile I headed straight towards it, but was foiled by yet another of Amsterdam's canals! Sad I had to ask a local resident how to get to the other side. I made the detour, and the cache was mine!

It turns out that the date the object was built is the same year that my home town in Australia was founded. Thanks for the cache and the great-looking certificate. [^]
