We have replaced the cache but be very careful. The council has built up the road and it now has no edges so the parking is minimal.

I expect to have the stitches from my latest surgery out next week and then I may be able to travel. I am think I will be able to revive the caches in about the next two weeks.

Canberra to Bathurst today from Rutherglen Mega and caching on the way.

Cache had water in it including in the bag where the log sheet was. Have cleaned it out as best I could adding a slip of write in the rain paper. Hope it survives.

Today caching and travelling with RoddyC.

We have started our homeward journey, overnighting in Bathurst.

Certainly not visible from car now, but a quick find. BUT how on earth was the cache full of water? And the zip bag containing the logbook was full of blue water.

Replaced as best we could, but after three weeks on the road, we are just about out of replacement supplies.

Log signed and cache replaced as found at 2:12 PM on April 14, 2023. TFTC, Becon4046 & Alwyn255

Winter 2020 trip to Bathurst. Day 1. I joined forces with Fitzy_1965 and MinnieK for another visit to Bathurst and the surrounding area to visit new caches and try to find caches we have all managed to not find on previous visits. It was an overwhelmingly successful trip where we all managed to find some nemesis caches that stretch back several years and many trips to the region. Despite the cold we camped each night and had a most enjoyable weekend now we are allowed out to roam a bit further.

Having worked out the rest of your caches along here some time ago, we had three left to sort out. It took quite some time, but we arrived at some answers and were happy to be able to stop and sign the three remaining today.

Thanks for the cache becon4046

20,780. Found during a welcome June Long Weekend caching run with minniek and albida33.

After 2 months of being in Lockdown it was great that travel restrictions in NSW have been relaxed allowing non-essential travel (ie Caching) to restart. We decided that a run up around Bathurst to try to avenge a few previous DNFs was in order. A very successful trip with 13 previous DNFs crossed off. We had found all but three of the caches in this series back in 2017, but having solved the last three recently we added them to our list for this trip, and we were very happy to uncover this cache's container at GZ.

With COVID-19 restrictions eased so that we can travel within our state, fitzy_1965, albida33 and I headed into the Bathurst region for a long-awaited caching weekend away to turn as many DNF's into smilies as possible and collect any unfound caches inbetween.

A quick find here today and a bit of unloved to go with it.

We are enabling our caches as travel is now allowed. Please remember that Covid-19 lives for up to 3 days on plastic surfaces. Keep yourself and others safe by using hand sanitiser or gloves.

31-Mar-20
We are shutting down our caches while the Coronavirus lock-down is in place. We want to protect every finder as current information indicates that the virus can linger on plastic surfaces for up to 9 days. Many caches are near people's homes and we cannot encourage anyone to spread this virus.
Stay safe and heed the doctors advice to stay home if you can.

I solved this one soon after it was released after a Canary (I think) prompted some communication about one in the series.

We are having a long weekend not too far away, so did a loop picking up a few on them

Bathurst Day 3
Todays drive south towards Blayney, the air conditioned car made lthe trip a little more comfortable. This was a nice way to tour the surrounding countryside & take in the scenery of the rolling hillside. There were many puzzles & a few traditional caches to be found.
Thanks for placing this cache becon4046

We have had a wonderful time caching around Bathurst and on the back roads, love the rural scenery. This was one of the caches we targetted and found. Thanks to becon4046 for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area. Big GrinBig Grin

We had solved most of these puzzles some time ago on a wet geocaching day - not sure we'll ever get to eat with the Romans Smile - so today is the trip to find the actual caches. The countryside is just starting to dry off. TFTC

After much deliberation and comparing of diaries, The Rats, Steeba and I eventually found a weekend that we could all commit to completing the lower (Southern) half of 'The Road Less Traveled' Series, along with some caching in Bathurst (which was actually the scene of our first combined geocaching trip nine years ago!). A last minute trip overseas for me cropped up; but I arranged it so that I could fly home just in time to not miss out on this caching extravaganza.

Friday night we headed to Abercrombie River via Goulburn (from Wollongong), and camped at the campsite there. Saturday saw us drive the lower (Southern) half of 'The Road Less Traveled' Series, ending up in Bathurst right on dinner time. We then found some local caches before staying at a friend's house for the night. On Sunday we headed back out to Oberon for some more caches and then did a couple of loops around Bathurst. We had originally planned to stay Sunday night, but once we clicked over 300 finds for the weekend the inspiration started to wane, and we all agreed to turn our heads for home.

Cheers

Nothing beats a "road trip". My find count had been suffering from the "rest of life" getting in the way of caching so along with Steeba and Hoojar a plan was hatched to go "beyond the Great Divide". The 2nd half of the TRLT looked to be the obvious solution. Under perfect skies and with gps loaded we hit the dirt roads.

Day 2 of our caching trip and we were out on the roads again. We headed to Oberon and some of the back roads around Bathurst before getting a few more caches in Bathurst. By days end we’d put a good dint in our "beyond the Great Divide" so decided to head for home. Thanks to all the CO’s of the caches we found along the way. Apologises for the template style log but with 300 finds for the weekend each container begins to look the same.

The Rats, Hoojar and myself made for the wider Bathurst area for a weekend finding some of TRLT series of caches.

The whole area was quite green and recent rains had meant the grass had exploded everywhere and was 3 or 4 foot high around many of the caches.

Not only did we find plenty of TRLT, there were many 'History of' caches found amongst others. Thanks to all the hiders. TFTC!

Wilbert67 and us have been planning an over night trip to Bathurst and pre solved many puzzles in preparation, we also picked up quite a few others along the way. We left early in the morning and we were hoping for better weather in light of all the rain we been having and good weather we had. We had an enjoyable day with only 4 DNF out of approximately 43. A big thanks to all the CO for making our trip enjoyable. TFTC.

On A weekender with J+J.AU, Goulburn, Oberon, Bathurst, Lithgow and back is our goal. Solved lots of puzzles as a preparation for this trip and happy to collect in on a lot of them. More eyes makes easier caching. Started with some fog and cold on Saturday morning, but the weather got better and better. Thanks for putting out all the caches!

Quickly made the necessary connections and cast my eyes over some useful numbers but the answer to this one was a little on the obscure end of things. Thanks for the puzzle and hide! Quick find at gz, narrow part of the road so look out for cars!

20-Apr-16
This puzzle had multiple possibilities for solutions and I was going round and round in ever-decreasing circles, but a hint from the CO narrowed the search and I finally came up with the right answer. My two granddaughters were happy to make the find and enjoy the well-stocked swap selection. Thanks again becon & Alwyn for this great series.

#3570- We had gone ahead of Canary for this one. The hide was an easy one, but for some strange reason we'd missed it on first glance and found it as he pulled up. Silly us! How did we miss it the before? Thanks

17-Apr-16
This was not even a difficult hide but somehow it took the WaywardWoman and I a couple of minutes to find it. We just found it before Canary pulled up. We'd gone ahead of him. How embarrassing!

As for the puzzle. Okay, are they getting harder? The answer to my question for all these puzzles in the series (would I have solved the puzzle had I had warning we would be doing them) is a maybe here. In fact, I immediately saw the connection between all the elements of the puzzle, far faster than Canary had, although I focussed on the wrong aspect of the connection. As to whether I would have made the leap to the final solution is the reason for my 'maybe' assessment. Canary told me the solution but I thought it was a bit obscure. Maybe I wouldn't have worked it out. I'm just not that patient.

So thanks again to Canary and becon4046.

The twelfth of twenty four on a Road Trip with my wife, bikerbuddy, Wayward Woman and NickoHeap.

I had time last week to solve some puzzles and today it was time to make some finds.

The puzzle took a prod from the owner who helped me relook at the information I had obtained and what format to put the answer in.

Found before I arrived. Both by my group and the FTF earlier in the day!?!

TFTC.
