Today we drove from Hanmer Springs to Kaikoura. We enjoyed the different landscapes and stopped to look for one or two caches. They were all in good condition. So we signed our names. Many thanks to all the owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi
On a road trip with Net61 exploring Kaikoura and finding as many caches as we can. We soon spotted some white rocks and soon after the cache. TFTC
Another nice day and Kaikouras is Mrs. Revd is away time to do a weave at a geocaching. Nice little reserve and as part of the 52 km bike trail around kaikoura Kaikoura.
Took us a little while but found it in the end. Tree definitely wasnt green, only started growing the first new leaves
Thanks to a previous finders mention of a pile of stones I was able to find this one after only a relatively short wander amongst the trees. I let the paper log get some air and sunshine before popping it back in its spot. Thank you for the cache.
Staying at the nearby NZMCA park by the racecourse, so went for a short wander along the waterfront, nice quick find here, TFTC
Heading to Picton and on our way stopped at Kaikoura grabbing a few caches. This one making it 2,200 finds. While not a huge number of finds, still out there doing it! Wandered around GZ a little before my cofinder says here it is! Signed log where a could and left as found. Not sure the hint is on the money, tree definitely doesnt look like an evergreen at the moment, could even be dying? Thanks for the placement here bumandworker.
Hi bumandworker, letting you know the logbook is really in need of replacement. CheersLGLNZ
Finally, 3rd go looking for this one. Today was the day. Nice spot for fish and chips.
Passed by this hiding area several times while staying in the area and on our final day we stopped and spent way too much time looking for the easy hide. Thanks.
Heading down to Christchurch for the weekend. Kaikoura was a convenient stop for refreshments and a few smiley. All fine here. Thanks for the smiley.
rahmschnitzel2704 and I could find this cache during our roadtrip through this beautiful country.
Thank you very much for hiding and maintaining this cache!

During our roadtrip in New Zealand, we also found this cache. Thanks for hiding!
Finally. Have looked for this before without success. Had place to self today and kept at it. Gps out a bit
Nice wee track. Wish I brought my bike with me. Cache all safe & sound but log book filling. TFTC
Having a milestone birthday this weekend, my aim was 50 caches. That was too much for one day so the 50 finds were spread over the celebratory weekend, 1/2 on my way South and 1/2 on my way North.
This was find number 10 and after a bit of back and forwards got the correct evergreen.

Heading out to grab some dinner and this was just too close. A call in to find a muggle in tbe area but he soon left us and we got our smiley. TFTC.
We had just parked the campervan for the night, so decided on a bit of a walk.
No problems making the find. The co ords are pretty accurate.
Thanks for putting this here

I was driving northwards and, after a short bike ride in the area, decided to stop for one or two more caches before continuing on my way. There are a few “hint items” here but only one with a regular geocaching trademark. Came across it reasonably quickly. #4998. TFTC.
I did try this one last night and missed it but all good in daylight. Made for a quick find. TFTH
Oh my goodness so many hint items, kept searching and then got lucky. Helps if you start at the right place lol. Thanks for the cache bumandworker.
It was time to explore the South Bay of Kaikoura.
There's a lot a the hint items here.
Cheers for the cache.

Stayed the night at the freedom camping area just down the road and decided to walk to this cache before heading off again. An easy walk and find. TFTC
On a trip south from Tauranga. Been cycling around when we can. Love it down here. Camped up for the night nearby. Heading north again. Thanks for bringing me here.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Logged with permission. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

Nice quick find cache all good tftc
Planned West Coast trip put on hold due to atrocious weather. So an alternative route was needed to avoid the rain. Not so! The rest of the south island copped it too..though on a lesser degree. So mainly driving north with the odd random cache finds. Seeing plenty of country less travelled a bonus. Spending a few days in Kaikoura then heading back down south

15 January 2022 17:32. That is. An exotic, but not an evergreen! Easy find from some angles, well screened from others. Tftc
Lovely couple of days relaxing in Kaikoura.. stopped at the Coffee Emergency kiosk on the way home and picked up this cache while waiting for my brew. Container was fully exposed so recovered with stones. Log book is damp.
Biking the Kaikoura trail today and grabbing a few caches on the ride. Weather looked reasonable this morning and we thought we could manage 45k before rain started. Good views but some clouds up high blocked full views of the Southern Alps.
Quick find here. Thanks for the cache B&W

Off on a road trip to Chch for the weekend. With limited time and raining on and off. We still managed to get in a bit of caching along the way. Down the East cost and back up the West cost was the plan but stormy weather put a stop to that. With no roads open to get home on we stopped in Kaikoura for an unplanned extra night. So thank you for for the caches you placed out there for us to find we had fun and frustration finding them along the way. Looking forward to the next trip to find the ones we missed. Apologies for the cut and paste.
A quick find after reaching the general area. A SPOR had us confused for a moment but we were back on track soon.
LEST WE FORGET..
Woohoo a long weekend and a good excuse to get away ...I usually just drive through kaikoura but this time I've decided to stay for 3 nights on a caching mission...
Quick find between muggles

Joining the Easter crowds cycling around the trails - also met motorbikers and a quad bike along here. Hopefully they were looking for the other track?? Cache is all good. TFTC
We are not sure if someone is helping here. The area was clear but there was more than one SPOR - only one of which was hiding the cache. It certainly makes the actual spot less obvious.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Searched around wasnt long before i spotted something
Good one
Thank you for the cache

Logbook starting to get pretty soggy. Lots of road works in the area so best approached after 6pm
Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on wet or plastic logs)
*We soon had another good cache located, now to the next one!*
Road works but not right here!
Took us a while to spot this one. Log damp but stamped ok.

Decided to stop for this one as well as the road works gang have their base at the start of the track and will be back at work tomorrow. A hunt around with GPS getting to 0m but not fitting hint had us widening our search until Andy stood on the cache in the long grass. Signed log and placed back as per hint. tftc
Initially we headed along what we now assume was the motorbike track, but soon made our way across to the walking track. It took a wee while to find the correct hint object, with our GPS suggesting it should be on the other side of the track. TFTC
I am spending today caching in and around Kaikoura. Finding a bunch of caches, old and new. This is my first visit to Kaikoura since the earthquake and it looks like it's been nearly 10 years since I found any caches here. That's a long time between drinks! The weather was stunning today. Blue skies and warm, my car said it got up to around 20C today. Very warm for the middle of June I think. Anyway, I had a great day so thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining their caches. Managed to get through the road works to the cache site. No problems here. TFTC, Biggles.
