One day I will remember that geocaching with the geohound is never a good idea. We went down the bank and the geohound found the stinky, manky water, and paddled his feet and had a drink. I went under the bridge, he wrapped his lead around me.
So a key holder but not magnetic only leaves a couple of possible places, and they are usually already occupied by spiders. It was a fairly quick find, it took me longer to get the key holder open.

I've just been on a great holiday with my Mum and two youngest kids around the North Island. She went home today and we've stayed on in Auckland to see my eldest son, his wife and my Grandkids.
I've been working on a streak as my longest streak was a sad 10 days on geocaching.com. I've saved these local (well local to my kids) ones for such occasions. Once the Grandies were in bed my son and I wondered over. A quick find so my streak continues. Thanks for your hide

A nice quick find thanks.
Time for another trip to the North Island for Ms_KR and me. Wellington and beyond here we come. Today we toured around Whangapararoa, Plan B. Plan A was to drive the Ara-Weiti Road, but is only accessible for residents as East Coast Road is CLOSED over that junction.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Have been a few times but no luck. Have had to admit defeat on this one. Crashed through the overgrown weeds. Three of us looked over, under, around and upside down but no luck. Photo posted to show the difference in the plant growth from a previous log’s photo.
no hot on this one with wanderclare and active child. Several attempts in the past but must admit defeat.
After a few DNF's, excluding PuhaMuncher who we must have missed by minutes, we had a look under the bridge, but no luck.
This was a hard find for Team Troph, but got there in the end!!!

I decided to head out and grab at least some of the caches in this lovely but unnamed park with number 4 being the main target. Parked near to number 5 and started off in reverse order given the recent DNFs on the early ones.
After my success at the first two decided to continue on and have a brief look at the others. I didn't spend too long on this one as I didn't fancy a muddy walk under the bridge so more of a DNA than a DNF.

Knowing that this one was not magnetic from previous logs we thought that there were a limited number of places you could hide it underneath. We failed to find it.
With the forecast for sun and warm weather, I was keen to get out and stretch my legs while enjoying the sunshine. Decided to bring my niece and nephew along for the hike of Shakespear Reserve.
After our hike, we were on a mission to find ice-cream, but along the way, we stopped to find more caches. Initially we started on the closest side to where the car was parked, but we quickly realised that we were still about 4m away so made our way over the bridge, as there was a nice little stream running along here. Once on the other side Miss 5 quickly spotted the cache and rushed to retrieve it before here brother.

Needed a cache for a dot day today . A nice easy find after reading a few previous logs . Not magnetic now

Yep definitely here! And the bridge is definitely needed after rain! Mag is in a good spot. Safe from most things!
Gave it our best but with dying light and not the correct footware, underneath feeling very muddy and wet. busy with mugglers walking the dog we aborted the mission.
#739. Yes it is definitely still there I decided to find this one as my cache for the day to keep my streak up, actually it was my second choice but I couldn't find the last one I looked for. That's okay, it was fun looking for this one, as the previous log definitely narrowed it down. This one is indeed sitting in the "geocache spot".
It was getting dark, and I almost didn't see it at first, but it's exactly where it ought to be.
As I was emerging from GZ, I got muggled by a family crossing the bridge. They looked at me quizzically. "Lost my phone", I said. The quizzical look changed to sympathy, but then I showed them that I found it and all was good in the universe.
Because this family then followed me back up the path and to my car, I didn't stop to look for the "stinky" cache at the start of the path. Maybe next time!
Thank you very much for the cache!

Though this cache is disabled we were passing by and as only one side was fenced off we decided to access from the other side to see if we could find the cache. As previous finders have said, it is no longer magnetic but was perched in the obvious spot for an easy find.
We decided to look for this cache even though it is disabled, whilst in the area today. It didn't take long to find the cache which is no longer magnetic and is place in an obvious caching spot. Glad to turn our frown upside down here.
The area is fenced off with construction, will re-enable once the area is open again
Out for a days caching with Remaker13 and Riser5 - logging as T18. This took awhile , there a e major works going on here but found in the end. TFTC
Out on a caching adventure with Tikitour and Riser5 to get 100 geocaches for the hidden creature souvenirs. Logging at T18. TFTC
After a LONG search R5 finally found this one on the ground.

Certainly didn't find where we thought it would be. On the ground , under. Not the same container as in the pic either, & maybe "Bender" signed another cache as we were #3 on the log ?! Replaced up & under. TFTC
Despite the bad looking weather decided to head out to Orewa and Whangaparaoa today with Aiden29 as we needed to pick up a purchase. Despite a lot of effort we could not locate this one
Out and about with Jag50 in the area. We gave the bridge a through search but alas we could not locate the cache.
Couldn't find it, it was muddy aswell so that could of been alittle bit of an issue
We were out today and decided to get some more smiley's on the map . It was wet and muddy today, but that didn't delay the search. After 15 minutes of searching and getting muddy along the way, I found the sneaky hide . Thanks for the cache KristTim . TFTC!!!
Time for one more before heading home for dinner. This was easy just as its getting dark as I know the people in the houses can't see me. Followed the hint, but wasn't where I was first expecting so expanded the search a bit further and spotted the nicely hidden replacement container. Must come back soon and complete the rest along this path, cheers
Brilliant !
Thanks for replacing .
Found easily this time !
Thankyou Team Welsh !

After finding the first cache on this path, we carried on to this one, but we had left our walk too late and already it was getting gloomy - we are used to the longer mainland summer evenings. We had as good a search as we could in the circumstances but got sick of banging our heads so decided to abandon the search.
A beautiful day for geocaching. We found the geocaches quick. TFTC Greetings from two girls from Holland.

Found an empty grey cylindrical container but no log. Guessing we found the cache but it needs a log.
Walked the park to check on all the caches, couldn't find the original cache so replaced
Out and about for a spot of geocaching today. With the worst of the showers behind me now, the day is turning rather pleasant. I parked up on Donald Street and made the short walk to GZ. It was a good choice to wear gum boots as it was rather wet under foot. After a bit of a search I spotted it laying on the grass. I completed the formalities and was then left pondering were to replace the cache. This proved tricky as the magnets seem to have lost their mojo. In the end I placed it on a cross beam at one end of the bridge. CO should probably assess the situation. Cheers for the smiley!
Not too muddy. Left dogs behind fir this one.
Lost signal here, maybe I've logged this twice.

Without power at home for the day I couldn't work, clean or anything so came out caching and ended up in this park quite by chance. Having had 2 DNFs and with outdated info on my GPSr which showed a few DNFs here I never-the-less set out to look for the cache. Just about to leave and voila - there it was! Nice hide. BTW it was very soggy underfoot today so definitely see the need for bridges so not to have to trudge through the middle and get your feet wet. Thinks for the adventure KirsTim!
We wanted to boost our find numbers for today so came up to Whangaparaoa this afternoon to do a few along this trail.
Arrived at GZ and began to search under the obvious. Once again this one took us a while, but in the end it all came down to getting into the right position and looking in the right direction. Thanks.

Maybe my geocaching instinct wasn't quite awake when I went to look for this one this morning... DNF will try again
Searched for ages on the way there with no success-tried again on the way back & went straight to it!!!!!Think my gps likes going in reverse-great hide -tfct
Lovely day for a walk completed these caches, had to read the logs on few to get the find. TFTC
After meeting Ryan (1/4 of Team Welsh) at Bark in the Park we all headed along to the bridge. Luckily for us Ryan had been unable to locate this cache earlier but this time he had it in his hands within minutes. The only issue was he could not remeber where exactly he had found the cache. Eventually Scotty located the correct spot. Another tricky hide. Kiwiscot had fun scooting from cache to cache. Joint (FTF) TFTC
Ryan had a look for this one first, didn't find it, went off to find bark, ,met some other cachers there, came back and then located this one quite quickly. Funny how that happens sometimes. FTF which is pretty rare in Auckland. TFTC
300m from our house and right outside the primary school that Mrs Team Welsh works at and 1/2 the team are in New Plymouth. Will see if one of the Welsh kids can go take a look.
