Take a while to find it. Signed the log and returned to where I found it. TFTC
Not so much maintenanceJust keeping an eye on it.Nice to see some familiar names getting a find here.Might need a cito when I come back to town.A working bee with whipper snippers and wotnot.
Target cache acquired. This is number 50 for the oldest and finest. Don't know how we missed this all those years ago when we first attempted it. Lot more overgrown. Log signed. TFTC
woohoo ed has finished his oldest challengenice drive up to this one this morningwe were talking cobblers pegs in yesterday at crochet lol
Reading the history in this cache takes some time. There's so many interesting titbits in there. I love it, it's like a time capsule. This cache has been here now for over twenty two years. Super impressive.Log finds by all the early pioneers, so many names still have a cache or two as the oldest active or highly memorable. Cachers like plantman and scrub bull. Then the time crew153 made this a group assault for his 4000th milestone.Or neverlostau sharing the photo of his dad here in 1959 when a BBQ also existed onsite. So cool. For me I signed a cache a few years back that I still haven't logged a find on. My first challenge cache I signed that i didn't qualify for. It felt odd at the time hunting it down with no clear plans on ever logging it, but amusingly did so anyway. It was to find the oldest ten caches within 50 km. Well this geostash has sat on that list since. With 50c public transport fares in full swing, I took full advantage and decided to explore montville. This cache was at the top of the must do list so I walked down from town to this super long overgrown spot.It felt so adventurous crawling my way up the half covered lantana stairway. Went too far and discovered a memorial urn. Backed up and found the cache immediately. Yahoo. Lucky in such an overgrown area. How much it has changed. A photo from 2002 tells it all. Thank you so much dahumbug for keeping this super old cache alive for everyone to keep discovering! This is the fourth time I've come across a cache hidden in July 2002.
Yes I so wanted this old cache. What a battle, once we found the steps we crawled and pushed our way to the top. Then an extended search for the location of the spoiler photo revealed by CO. Without that no way we could have located the cache. A word of warning as others have mentioned, those sticky seeds are horrendous. Either wear your oldest throw away clothes or nothing at all and put up with the scratches. Scratches will be easier to get rid of than those seeds.
Well let's just say for the next day I will be picking out the vines tangled in my clothes . Found it after looking for a wee while . Very overgrown . Fun fun
Its the last day of Davinells and my dirty weekend away in Nambour and surrounds chasing off-road vehicle attributes in MirandaA special guest appearance by Beardmanone shot75 means there is another list, but this particular hide wasnt on anyones list but thanks to a particular cache we were passing in the right direction for me to finally be able to claim a findA recent previous finder made for a super quick findThanks dahumbug very happy to find this Q100 cache today
Where d,you guys find a rock? I climbed the stairs, identified what i thought could be remains of a picnic table, tried to figure out west. But the only thing around here is lots of logs, tree trunks draped with long grass!
Out for a Sunday drive with my husband on this beautiful day and my target was to find this oldie. I read up about it last night and looked like it would of been nice when it was a picnic area. Now its over grown. We took the stairs up and it was my husband who spotted it. Thanks for keeping this oldie going .
Find 5 of 12 with 2 DNFs on a beautiful winter's day for touristing all over from Maleny/Montville, down to Mooloolaba and up to Noosa, then back.
An oldie and was probably once a goodie! But now will only be remembered for the absolute carnage the seeds and sticks did to our (inappropriate) clothing. Get suited up for this one, it's bad. Up the almost completely gone steps. Spoiler photo essential. Cache is very safe from muggles, had to be unearthed from the overgrown vegetation. Back to the car and the grooming began - picking bits off each other for the next 5 minutes. Plenty in the car now as well. Those seeds are sticky. Those sticks are sticky, but not in the usual stick kind of way.
TFTC dahumbug!

Smaller then we thought, long pants recommended, not far from the top of the stairs, no table left but lots of long grass and lantana,
Found bit over grown, where jeans and boots, hint does not apply, large rock in the wall
Wear jeans for this one and shoes highly recommended, very very overgrown found fairly easily, follow the paths up the hill using the steps from the road. My friends left a small rubber ducky earlier instructions where they say no more picnic table are correct. Tftc
This cache was on my DNF Watch List, as I’d spent around 45 minutes hunting high and low here back in March. Fast forward to today and I knew that the cache has been replaced. Found after a 10 minute search around once I read the update. This place is such a mess these days, and a tick haven, but it’s an Oldie that needed to be found. Thanks dahumbug for keeping this Oldie alive.
Whilst up on the ranges, Duppers, shazzar66 and I had a few caches in mind, one of them being this oldie. It certainly was struggle to find somewhere to park in Montville, the amount of people there today was way much more than I expected. Anywho, we parked some distance away and all piled into the one geomobile in order to park safely close to GZ. After donning the bushman spray to ward off those ticks, we crept up the derelict stairs, through all the vines and overgrowth up to GZ where the cache was found pretty quickly. Thanks for the cache Team GeoCoopers and dahumbug!
Stopped here this morning but gave up too soon. Duppers arrived after I left and found what I was looking for.
So we headed back with Duppers after the event, so JDoutdoors and I could add our names to this very old cache. Might as well claim it while in the area for the event hosted by Dahumbug. TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF

dahumbug I found your cache Foster and Crawford on 22/11/2022, 12:00 pm. This is my find 4462 and find # 4 today. Don’t go too fast or you’ll miss the parking spot next to the hidden stairs. Once I fought my way up the stairs it wasn’t long before I had CIH. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN

This oldie has been on the list for a while but I’ve never been coming up the mountain. We were going to attempt it a few weeks ago but didn’t quite get there.
Today it was a must get, particularly because maintenance had just been performed. I ducked and weaved and got caught on all the spiky things but pushed on to GZ.
The cache was quickly found thanks to the maintenance photo.

Would have been a good spot to have a picnic if you brought a whipper-snipper with you.

So overgrown since my last visit here in 2018.
No more picnic table so hint is irrelevant except it’s still under a rock.
Container has been replaced.
Can’t find any remnants of old and new containers .
New finders are looking for big rock behind vertical copper log(refer pic).
This is where container used to be 3metres west of the old picnic table.
Cheers

searched for over an hour - found some plastics where log books could have been, clue is not relevant. Totally overgrown.
I found the stairs. Made my way up the stairs dodging the spiderwebs and over lots of lantana & branches to get to GZ. Looked around and couldnt see any rocks. Searched further to lots of logs on the ground that looked like rocks from a distance, but nothing.
Checked previous logs. Okay, look for an old retaining wall. After getting to higher ground I found a dip in the land that could have been a retaining wall. To the retaining wall, I then made like a scrub turkey and clawed away as much leaf litter as I could above and below what I could see of the retaining wall.
Sadly, after 45 min of searching, I gave up. As previous searchers have said, this area is badly overgrown, plus adding a very wet ‘wet season’, plus flooding rains, I couldn’t find a cache.
Did collect a Tick though. Would have preferred a Smiley Face
I hope it’s still here for someone else to find some day, but unfortunately it’s a DNF for me today.

Staying in Landsborough for a couple of weeks and a good time to find some caches in the local area and joined by grannysmith1947.
This one took much longer than expected as we went in too early and was looking in all the wrong places until a PAF sent us in the right direction.
Came away with seven ticks between the two of us.

Driving from Brisbane to the north coast, we decided to take the back roads and stop in Montville. The ice cream there was excellent, as was the sunshine and the walk we had through the area. After this we decided to head to this Geocaches.
Being an oldie, we thought we would target this one along the way.
Arriving at GZ we saw two people literally emerging from the undergrowth. And after a wet spring, it is literally undergrowth and overgrowth.
Surely they could only be geocachers! As we alighted our car, we looked across and spotted two very dear friends, Snickersallan and Grannysmith1947.
They were just about to check themselves for any ticks that may have grabbed onto them. Between the two of them, I picked off 15, and they possibly picked up quite a few more as well.
Cachers beware! At this time of year there are plenty of them around.
We decided to spray ourselves with insect repellent before heading into the bushes.
Snickersallan, Who had already just signed the log offered to go in again to save us time looking.
She and Mr Domsky charged inwards and upwards and soon had the log signed.
Thanks Team GeoCoopers

Overgrown track up to GZ. Remember to check for ticks after leaving. Take the hint with a grain of salt as there is no longer any "elbat cincip", but you can guess where it was. Cache and log in fair condition. TFTC
A last minute plan was made for a trip north.
Made a short list of targets and set out.
One of the grand old caches of Queensland easily made the list.
Great views from this forgotten place
Plenty of options at GZ, keept looking and made the find close to the retaining wall
Thank you for hiding this geocache Team GeoCoopers

Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed north to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland to visit a few of the scenic mountain villages of Montville and Mapleton in the Blackall Ranges. We started the day with a visit to Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve and completing that virtual cache, and then stopped at a few lookouts on our way to Montville. We then had a nice walk around Montville completing the the *Montville Meandering* Adventure Lab and stopped for lunch. We then closed out the day by completing the *A Lap Around The Circuit...(at least)* in Mapleton, and returned home.
With this cache being one of Queensland's 100 oldest and active geocaches hidden in 07/2002, I decided to take the time in making a stop at this forgotten lookout location. It was also interesting to see a *Team GeoCoopers* geocache in Queensland, after being familiar with some of their older hides back in South Australia!
We soon realised where we needed to park, and this old lookout was getting more forgotten about and hidden away as time continued to roll by. There was no more signage identifying the lookout (like past photos indicated), and a tunnel of lantana growing around the steps was growing smaller and smaller as time went by. We made our way up, and then followed a few old trails (geotrails?) to where the old lookout and picnic table must have been. The only signs left of a lookout here was of a rotting/falling fence, and opposite stabilised fence.
Our initial search around the place, trying to find the cache hidden "in plain sight" didn't turn out well, and I was beginning to think that it would be a tough find. As I started to search a few logical hiding spots after searching through the ivy and vegetation, I ended up finding the old logbooks! I couldn't see to what date/vintage these were from, and they were obviously the old geocache logbooks as it was still visible on the logbook's cover, with remains left of a few weather damaged pages in a small plastic bag. I then took the moment to look behind me back to the clearing, only to catch glimpse of the current cracked sistema container. So all in all, I found both old and new geocaches! I subsequently combined both containers, and placed it back to where I found the original logbooks. The cache is at a post under a big 10 cm rock. The cache could use some TLC, but otherwise I didn't think it needed urgent/immediate maintenance attention. Thanks Team GeoCoopers for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Parked the car at the foot of the ‘hidden’ stairs then made our way up through the lantana ‘tunnel’.Phew! (Must say... we’ve found some ‘new’ T5 caches easier than this one.) Now to find the cache. It’s rather overgrown here with vines, grasses, cobblers pegs and other weeds. Well we didn’t find any picnic table but we did find the cache.
After reading the previous log we came prepared with replacement write-in-the-rain logbook. However we found there *is* actually a waterproof logpaper in the cache and it was only half-filled. The cache is cracked top and bottom but unfortunately we didn’t have a spare container to replace it with. The swaps, all being plastic, could withstand a bit of water too so we left the cache just as it was - under a couple of rocks at the base of a low, sprawling shrub.
Picked up the TB to move along.

Found it after getting cutup going through some lantana. It's important to note you need to find the hidden stairway to the cache location - it's not along the roadway.
It's really overgrown - a machete would be greatly helpful.
Container is cracked and there is no logbook. A few swaps. An interesting location though and worth the find.
Dropped the 7 Deadly Ducks trackable which I found in Northern NSW a while back - hopefully someone will move it on it's way...

Managed to get to the correct area with master57 by scrambling up the hill from the road. It was a bit of an adventure! Unfortunately didn't find the cache this time.
Drove under and couldn't find a way up. Drove above and it was private property. Gave up.
Today TGG& I were off to claim a few more caches before we headed home. When this one popped up I needed to find it. It’s all overgrown & we created a geotrail loop to & from. I suspect the actual cache is no longer where it was, it now resides almost in the open under a plethora of weeds & overgrown vines
We had a look on both access possibilities, but decided to leave it.
Will keep an eye on this cache.

Took way too long to find this one with Chamad but he was determined to get one of the oldest ones. As he said "5 more mins" , there it was IPS!
After a great weekend event it was time to head back home, I had a plan to grab a couple of caches along the way home and I offered the invitation to 4hawkers.
I had a small list of target caches to collect on the way stretching from Gympie to Mapleton to Montville and then home. So on the last part of the list now and I’m in Montville. Finishing off a lab I started a while ago, collecting the bonus, a couple of trads and an oldie.
This one I had on my list for some time and today I was determined to find it. I walked up the path and then headed to where gz had me. Knowing I had to relocate for the time from when it was placed I started my search, however the growth at GZ was thick and vines were everywhere. I had to make a paf to a previous finder to make sure I was in the right spot. After a further 30 minutes I finally found the cache, thanks to my paf for the help. This area is very thick with vines and once I found the cache I was very happy, Thanks for placing this one here.
The container is a little worse for wear and does need replacing, it wold be a shame to see this old one gone.

After walking up on to private property looking for a picnic table we stopped to read previous logs and quickly went back down. Good fun in the rain tftc
Another cache of what turned out to be an epic adventure though the sunshine coast hinterland rainforests with my two girls and one muggle friend. We were targeting older caches, caches that help me with some challenges (the date hidden challenge, and the "Can you spell JULY in JULY challenge). This was the first time my youngest had joined me on a decent walk, and I was nervous about how she would go. Thankfully, she LOVED it and I now have a walking companion . Wahoo!
I parked without issue along the side of the road and made my way up what used to be stairs. No need to approach this cache via the side road, which borders private property but without border fences.
This area has changed a lot since the cache was first hidden and as other logs indicate, there are no longer any picnic tables. The cache is at the end of the wooden retaining wall. Cache container has seen better days but is still functional. I presume the views were stunning back when this was hidden. We really enjoyed the drive down this road, the views, and the cold fresh air. Really heavenly.
Really happy to have another of Queensland's oldest 100 geocaches in the bag.
TFTC and TB visits x2.

I attempted this one yesterday, but my GPS led me me down the main road, but there was nowhere to pull over, I saw where I needed to go, but there was nowhere to park, I saw later on in the day that I could’ve pulled down a side street and walk down, but I had a feeling I was on peoples property once there as I had houses on both sides of me.
A little search was needed since this cache is so old, but with a little log reading I had a fair idea what I was looking for. Found the cache, but the container is pretty damaged with cracks, but the log is in good condition in a small preform tube.
I’ve taken the LEGO TB with me.

Didn't make it all the way to the cache spot but had a good attempt. Initially tried from the Palwoods, Montville Road but couldn't find a safe place to park. The second attempt was from Marshall Road which had better access but had to go through someone else's back yard which I wasn't too keen on. Maybe some other day.
Team Ladava are up from Victoria for a bit of R&R so why not find a few local caches.
So glad the council had done a bit of clearing up in the area but even after I moved a fresh branch off the steps, they are still pretty uneven and hazardous.
I was very glad there was a pencil in the container as I had forgotten my pen in the car below.

With a planned trip to Maleny today already, the previous finders log came through just in time. Swung by to check it out again after reading that the site had been cleared and was stoked to find the rock staircase and path had been properly slashed all the way and the GZ area was fully cleared. Completely - even the picnic table was gone. Worried for a moment that the cache might also be gone, I remembered the clue and ..... there it is. Standing out loud and proud now. Signed the new log inside the old container, which is broken but useable, as the old log books are sodden. Removed the ant bear from inside and replaced exactly as found. Looks like the clean up is still in progress so it will be interesting to see how the lookout develops. Tftc and for maintaining it Humbug. You set a good example for us all
Thought this one might be a bit of a bush bash but thankfully someone has slashed enough of the area near the cache.
It was still a bit of a hunt though but glad to get a smiley for tjis oldie.

Far out!!! This one really pushed my fear limits with the steep grade and the thick long grass. Think I’m going to ring council and request they maintain the site. Too risky (even though I did it anyway). At GZ it was just too overgrown to go hunting and all you could see of the table was a tiny corner. I went even further up looking for the rock before deciding to leave it for the day. Wishing I had of taken my phone up with me and read the logs. Oh well, you win some you lose some.
Soooo I'm finally getting to logging the remainder of our finds from our long weekend on the sunny coast. And I see this spot was visited the day after I was here!
I've been looking forward to returning to this spot as in May last year dahumbug and I spent a long time searching for this oldie but not finding it we placed a replacement to keep it going. The original was later found, so we deleted our Found logs, but neither of us had gotten around to removing our replacement. So today I made my way back up and with the help of my hiking pole, the hint, and 4ando's log, I eventually found the cache. I removed our replacement cache and put the waterproof log sheet into the original container with the logbooks. My attached pic shows both cache containers.
The original cache is here to be found. There's also now a short cut straight up the hill if you don't want to take the seriously overgrown stairs...

Wow that was a lot of forging through overgrown terrain! Found the new container thanks Dahumbug for keeping this one going. Hubby went high and I went lower and he pointed down to GZ and with a clue in the logs the cache was soon spotted. All good here log nice and dry. TFTC
Wow talk about logging a cache late. Geohubby WallabyTim spotted this green dot on the map that we had previously visited and he knew exactly what date we were there as we travelled from Toowoomba to Lake McDonald for an event! Fantastic to see such an old cache still in play
TFTC smile 4025 out and about with Brislions and miss millie geo dog had a great day found 13 caches all up lots of slipping and sliding on the long grass the area is so beautiful and green the day was full of laughter and hard work at times Thank you for placing this cache for my enjoyment
Took a very wrong way up and made it much harder (and scarier) than it needed to be. Found the replacement cache, signed, and took the overgrown trail out!
Thanks!
Thanks!
Out for the day geocaching with friends. Noticed were were close to this old one. Discussions ensured relating to the weather etc. but no matter my name is now in the log.
Out and about geocaching with E. Our D/T grids and challenges were priority. It was great to find this oldie. The container is cracked but contents are still in good condition. GZ has seen better days but the view is still nice.
Cheers

We’re in the area chasing some caches that will complete our D/T grid. We opted to find some old ones as well to qualify for Fangsoki’s Challenge Cache. This was on the list.
We were busy talking about life and death on the way to this cache that we nearly missed it and parked 100+m away. We were short for time as we have to go back to the Gold Coast to finish the multi we sorted out earlier. We decided to drive around only to end up at exactly the same spot!
Thanks for the cache Team GeoCoopers. The place looks absolutely terrifying especially when we have lots of snakes, spiders and other nasty creatures in this State and I was petrified meeting them along the way. With walking sticks in hand to ward off ‘evil spirits’, we persevered. Maybe some CITO would be good here for the local cachers? April 2019 for a Souvenir perhaps?
The view is fantastic!

Ah this is the cache that was on my radar for today and I can say that I don't like these sorts of Parking spots and walking along this road but if I want this cache that is exactly what I need to do. I have had visions of driving all this way and not finding this cache. Now my knees don't like steps but suffer I will and oh no a tree down and again my knees don't like these neither. I summed up how I was going to overcome this problem and eventually got on the ground and crawled under, now I can't get up again lucky the fence was strong enough to help me. More steps and more logs until eventually I could see the table. Well I'm close to the cache and now I have to work out where N S E and W are as I am a complete failure there. I pleased to say that I soon had a very wet cache and log in hand. I dont understand why anyone would want a Picnic table there but going back years I guess there was an odd car passing and there was no overgrowth up the top. No one happy cacher has to make her way back down all those stairs without injury. TFTC
This was the first of two oldies collected today with Gcoven. Starting on top of the range, found a parking spot close to the lookout stairs. The spot certainly has seen better days with high grass and trees fallen across the pathway. Having traversed the goat track, started the search using the old clue without any luck then spotted the cache nice and secure after reading previous logs.
Had a little happy dance with another oldie struck off the list. Thanks to all that maintain this oldie and to Team GeoCoopers for placing the cache.

Quick easy find. Cache too wet to sign the lid has been broken by its heavy load. A new one requires.
A lovely day for a wee bit of self love and off geocaching. Hi from NZ and TFTC

At last another oldie is added to the list and perhaps the final one needed for Team ARF to meet the QLD Oldest Finest Challenge. Loved the old picnic table . A memorable cache indeed. Tftc
I was slowly heading south towards home and picking off a few caches. This one was attractive due to its age, so I followed the windy road up here until the GPS said that the cache was above me. What the? I found a spot to pull over and found a cool little staircase beside the road but there was a wall of grass beside it and no sign of a park where a picnic table could be. I had to double over to walk through a low arch of vegetation and then I finally found the picnic table. Very cool spot. I'm guessing that this was once a lookout but the trees across the road have grown too high. Still a cool little location that no one but the locals would know about.
Thanks for the cache Team GeoCoopers. This was find #3790. Please discover my trackable: MMGJ6B

First thing to note when looking for this cache is that the clue and size of container now are totally different to the description. We read the description and not the logs before coming here and only now when logging at home do I read that the cache was changed fairly recently to a preform and hidden elsewhere. Still this was a quick find by my geohusband and all is well.
Yay school holidays means some escaping! 1Minniemoo and I hadn't decided what to do but starting with an oldest and finest sounded like a plan. We both had lots of caches up this way that we hadn't found, so off we headed. I read some logs on the way up and we thought maybe we were in for a hard slog, so we were surprised when it wasn't so bad after all, a bit of under (or over) and through, but pretty much a clear path. I think maybe some muggles had been here as the "table" vegetation is a bit squished compared to other photos.
1MM and I both made the find here, from different angles.
Log signed and cache replaced, time for some photos, 1Mm stood on top of the table to get a better view. Nice to find this oldest and finest, and looking at the gallery here it certainly has changed! I wonder why it's been so neglected? And what happened to the shelter?? Secrets only Foster and Crawford know...

A day out with Wombles&Co today, and we decided to head up here and grab this lovely Oldest and Finest first. I love Montville and surrounds, so it certainly didn't take much convincing for me to agree to this area today, although when Wombles started reading out some of the logs on this one on the way here we may have had a doubt or two start to go through our heads. However, unperturbed, we pulled the car up and saw where we had to go. Ohhhhhh boy!
But once we started walking up it really wasn't that bad. Sure it's a bit overgrown, but there is more or less a flattened path to follow to GZ, with an "over the log" and "under the overgrowth" thrown in for a bit of variety.
Arriving at GZ, Wombles went one way and I went the other.... and we both came up trumps!! Not often that sort of thing happens. We had joked about it on the way up too, so was even better when it actually happened. Signatures done, I wished I'd brought some more supplies up here today to do a little cleanup and longevity assistance.
Then I decided to risk it and stand atop the nature covered table and take a photo of the view.
Thanks for the cache TeamGeoCoopers.

After a feed at the Palmwoods tavern I suggested we should drive up to Montville for a coffee. Of course the real reason was a chance to drive past this cache. My daughter and I have actually visited before when we were new cachers but got creeped out by the long grass and left.
Since 4ando recently found this, I have been having regular coffee dates with them where we have talked about this cache and so came armed with some intel. The first misleading piece of information was that the area had been cleared out by them. Clearly I need to buy them a new whippersnipper because the weeds grow fast here. The second piece of misleading intel was that the cache was now easy to get to. I had to do a bunch of weeding of my own to find it.
Still the fun in this cache is getting to GZ. It's a wild and wooly walk up from the road but it was a cracking example to show to a first time cacher of how much fun you can have. When we got back to the car we spent the next 10 minutes deprickling ourselves from head to toe.
We then drove onto Montville for a coffee which was a mistake in itself but I was beyond desperate. Trying to find a park at 2pm on a Sunday is harder than finding this hide. tftc

Going over some old logs looking for 183+ day intervals and see that our log on 3/1/17 was the last one for a long time for this historic cache. Glad we took the TB now and we replaced as found but apologies if we contributed to any confusion.
As much as I recall searching up the hill for a while we eventually considered the more likely location to lower than the co-ords indicated, possibly flatter and pretty sure it was under a hard cover.... it was a while ago.... good luck.

Looks like good old fashioned cache creep has happened here.
Interested to go back and see where this one now resides.
Great to see there was something to find there.
Well done 4andos for persevering and finding it.

Last night we were running around our cache blockers so that just meant that there were no end of the week drinks for us. With this being the case we set the alarm to go off bright and early as we knew we would be feeling like gold in the morning.
Arriving at near GZ the sun was up but it was still cool, we headed over to the entrance, not such a pretty entrance any more, carefully we climbed the path as we had no idea where the steps were underneath us as they were overgrown. Bending to travel through the tunnel of overgrowth we reached GZ. Wow the view here is spectacular, shame it is so overgrown now.
We went hard at it, ripping at the grass that was past our heads and turning up with nothing. 2 hours later all coolness had disappeared, we were sweating like troopers and had turned up nothing. We decided to take a seat and think about this logically, not at the picnic table as there was no room for us there with all the plant life taking up residence on it.
With our two brains working together and some more brute force with the overgrowth…well shit, we finally found the bit of plastic. Pulling out the pen to sign the log and it was busted and not coming to the party to leave some ink behind, are you kidding us??? A couple of wet pencils and another busted pen in the cache, finally one of the pencils came to life and we could add our scribble.

Out and about with Caro(Jess&Caro) and I had an epiphany that she needed this cache for Fangs Oldest and Finest Challenge. Once at tiny parking waypoint it became apparent that it was very over grown with weed. This was a very easy find for me back in 2013 but there was no container there today. Since this is an old cache it is a no brainer to replace the container and keep it going for others to enjoy.
The area is in urgent overhaul of landscaping and could be a target for a clean up. I've taken the best approach here for longevity and placed the preform to the lower branches of the tree close to GZ. I also attach a photo of the overgrown greenery looking out to the view.
Happy Caching

I really wanted to find this cache, being one of the oldest in QLD but it was not to be. It was quite overgrown up here. It was quite unexpected to find this picnic spot here with great views.
I had a good search around but couldn't see it.

Went higher than was needed but tracked down this well sized historical cache. Took the travel bug left a toy lizard. TFTC
Wow. This is awesome. One of the oldest caches in Qld and I'm in possession of one of the oldest TB's . Will leave Signal behind here to continue his journey
