tftc got asked by a worker in the area if we were ok because so many people dump rubbish here a mum and 2 kids must look suss
Having dropped my good lady at the airport I took the opportunity to zip round some neighbourhood caches. Not especially grotty at the GZ today which made my search a little more pleasantbut I was left feeling rubbish and was on the verge of DNFing when I reread the hint and thought Id take one last look and a more inquisitive poke. Just as well I did as the craftily hidden cache was there all the time. Nice hide. Thanks G_2#5168Logged using Cachly.
Out on the bikes around Mangere with rattll, trying to snag as many caches as possible before a significant anniversary for her. At GZ, the cache took some hunting, although not so much rubbish as previous finders had suggested. Maybe there's been a cleanup by the council...truth is stranger than fiction! Spotted the cache still tucked away. All well, signed, and returned as found. Tftc!
Having a weekend away in Auckland with matagouri, trying to knock up some numbers to reach 14,000 finds at my 20th anniversary of geocaching event (GCANR31) in a couple of weeks time. We parked up here with the intention of snaffling the tantalizing trail of caches along the cycle way back towards the airport. The weather was a bit marginal but okay for most of it. Maybe that's why we hardly saw any muggles throughout the day. This was a sneaky wee hide that took a while to spot Thanks for putting this here
Spending a couple of days out of town Caching with Reschedule, not fully sure what we are hoping for, quality? quantity? maybe a bit of both, either way its all for a bit of an adventure.A little tricky, so I thought I would check the hint, I quickly worked out what I thought it meant, but still took a moment to spot something. Do I want to touch that? what have I got to lose. It is a real shame that these areas also appear to become dumping grounds ruining an otherwise fun day
Out of town on a caching mission with Kiwi Does Stuff, made a plan for the few days up in Auckland and hit the road. Coordinates are accurate, but a challenging hide and disguise. Well camouflaged. TFTC!
After yesterday being such a blustery day and not really making it appetising to go out and do anything, except a quick trip to Bunnings and Mitre 10, today was a gorgeous day by comparison. The sun was shining, the wind had died down quite a bit, and we needed something to do so that we were not stuck in the house all weekend. After our regular Sunday morning activity, we headed on out to the shopping centre by the airport as Mrs. Liver Bird wanted to pick something that she had told had arrived for her at one of the shops. After a lovely lunch in a nearby cafe, a plan was hatched to grab some of the caches in the area since it was industrial and deserted on a weekend.Well, this one eluded us today. Looking around where the GPS started to point us, there were a quite a few possible place for hiding a cache, but none were to be found. Then the GPS decided we were in the wrong place and pointed us to somewhere else. Over we went and started looking for the cache there. Still no luck. Then looking at the GPS, it headed us back to where we started, but still nothing. Looking again at the GPS, it moved us back to our second spot. Another quick look and we soon gave up as the GPS (on phones) was not helping us at all.I think it may well have also been a case of relying too much on the hint to find the cache as we were not able to figure out what was meant by it and interpreted as one thing when it could have easily been another. Oh well, you can't win them all.
Great easy hint. Another quick find for us on an afternoon to cool down in our own backyard. Tftc.
Little detour into airport area for some quick finds, on my way home after been in Henderson for a few days for a ten pin bowling tournament. Thanks G_2 for the cache.
Visiting from Ohio, USA and spent the morning geobiking around Auckland. Spotted this one right away.
My son checked a likely place and moved on, but i spotted it! He was dissapointed to not be able to claim the find but thems the breaks!
Out night caching with buzzybb. Quick find here. Bbb wasn't sure about the hint but I had my thoughts. Cute hidey spot. Tftc
A quick find but right next to a spot where something like 20 full rubbish bags had been dumped. I am on foot today so nothing I could do about it - in fact, even had I had taken a few bags worth of rubbish out of this road it wouldn't look like I had made an effort, there is so much. If I lived close enough I would organise a CITO.
Oops, logged the wrong one.
Doesn't really matter, I just found this little guy as well. Also a cool camo...

This was perhaps the hardest cache I found today, which is to say it took me a few moments, but then I spotted something odd. Thanks!
After finishing some work at the airport decided to try and find a few cachs on my way home.
Thanks for placing this cach G_2.

Indeed a different type of GROTTY. didn’t take too long to find the cache which was good as we parked a bit dodgy. TFTC

Piggys going french on us - at least the hint was very useful and the cache was located quickly. TFTC

A gritty place indeed and actually the cache itself is in a pretty gritty state. Didn’t really want to touch it as it looked very sticky. Didn’t attempt to sign log but sent photo as proof of find. Please put a new cache in place!!
I took a seat and pondered the description. Then something told me where to look and voila. TFTC
Out and about with Mrs Tuolei and Albert the Geohound. It is a bit of a grotty spot unfortunately but I've seen worse and at least it has a nice cache to collect at it. You can see the odd plane (not many at the moment) coming in to land from here. Funny how much of a novelty a plane seems already. Thanks for the cache - all good here.
Didn't have too much trouble finding the cache but it is a bit of a grotty spot.

Find number 6477. I read the hint and got excited. Tried 1 option but this was not correct. So I stood at the car and surveyed the area. I soon spotted something of interest. I was able to squeeze my signature on it. Thank you for the placement.
My last G-2 cache for the trip, there have been a few. Parked alongside and saw the rubbish here and there, then found the cache. All good and replaced as found. T F T C
Time to head back home and I have around an hour to spare before taking the rental van back to it's owners. A chance for a few more in the region before heading to my barren cache-scape of Marlborough. Managed low double-digits today and some good ones in amongst the others.
I'm up in Auckland for the week, with a couple of options for transport and with a healthy choice of 4 evenings plus one late-afternoon at my disposal for caching. Would be remiss of me not to take advantage of what some (km) would call a 'target rich environment'. And so my week was spent well, a count of 75 caches was found, a few DNFs and a plethora of G-2's special cache treats with awesome camo and attachments. Some nice evening weather made things easier, and I averaged a 10km walked each day = nice. Thanks to all COs for their caches, individual logs as/when remembered.

Found after visiting Ihumatao. Log is absolutely full and in need of maintenance. TFTC
Last day in Auckland, but have some hours to kill, so after my morning park run I thought I best get some mor km’s in. Spying a central car park and two loops of cache off I Trott. Thanks for the little adventure.
We had a bit of time to fill in before returning the car and getting to the airport. What better than to find a few cacvhes - even if it was a pretty grotty place. We have found some others of the Piggy caches this trip. The log was very wet but we managed a mark.
Thanks
Thanks
Headed back around this way to collect a couple more caches. Didn't take long here, TFTC
A quick and easy find. Cheers
A quick visit up to Auckland to see my mum. Took the long way round to the airport and found a few boxes on the way!
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

Out and about to sign off puzzles without success. Decided to make the best of the day and intermittent rain and find some caches out here. No problem here, we left a new log in a plastic bag, as lid is gone from container. While we were taking a while a local pulled up to ask if we were ok lol... SL. TFTC.
#16288. I set out just before dawn to see how many caches I could bag before today's conference talks started. It was a morning of mixed fortunes, but it got off to a good start (quick find here). TFTC.
Heading home after completing an adventure nearby, managed to locate this one for another smiley.
Sorry didn't have any water proof log paper, as space for signing is now very limited if not at all sign-able without going over other logs.

In Mangere with a 3 hour Geocaching pass while Ms M has her annual Hawaiian Body Work.
I've escaped the industrial area for now but not the appalling litter that abounds this area.

I had to drop my son back at the airport today. Unfortunately it was a cold, showery, blustery day but I don't get down here very often so I was determined to make a day of it. A good woolen jersey my Mother knitted me did the trick nicely to keep me warm. I haven't been out caching for a while so I wanted some numbers on the board so I followed the trails in this area. I jumped out between showers and hunted in a few places. I got back in the car to keep dry while I re-read the cache page. Saw who the CO was and thought I'll have to look more carefully. A great hide. In the end and considering the weather, I found a respectable 27 caches for the day. Luckily I'd packed a change of clothes as I got soaked by the end of the afternoon - glad my crew were warm and dry at home today. I still have quite a few more to find around here but it's nice to have some smiles on my map. I really do appreciate the effort you go to with your hides to keep this game interesting. Thanks G-2 for another innovative hide
It was an early 4am start to snag a flight to Auckland and a few hours hanging around before snagging another flight to Raro - Our destination for a week caching. So lets explore around the airport while waiting.
Another snag and tag amongst the rubbish along this road. Even the cache was grotty here with the Log green with slime and wet. Yuck.

Got the early morning flight into Auckland, and have the late afternoon flight out, so Taybeedragon and I are killing time with geocaching. We walked for hours! Stopped here along the way.
Yeah, pretty grotty. What was this are? A rubbish dump? Darn close to awarding an anti-fav.

Grabbing a few caches around the airport before we head away on holiday, no problem with the find TFTC.
Up in Auckland for another night to see someone off to the airport. Woke up around 4am so went for a wander. Somehow I always chose the dark unlit streets.
Started off walking around a bmx track with little success, then headed down this wee road in the pitch black. Bit of a blessing really as I didn't appreciate just how much roadside trash there was in the area until my return walk in the light.
One of those waterproof logs, just as well as it was wet and rather full, other than than it was all good.
Cheers.

Out hunting in some grotty places for hidden creatures - they are everywhere don't you know. Nice quick find TFTC!
Went out for a little tour to grab some easy Caches. The weather was cold and grey but fortunately not raining. Anyway, for most of the Caches I could park very close and make easy finds.
The street to that place was flooded but the GZ is fine - only a lot of trash here. Found it quick, Cache hid is not waterproofed...
Thanks for hiding!

After flying in from Wellington tonight, I decided to try and find a cache in order to keep my current geo-streak alive. So that is how I came to be focussing on this particular cache. It was quite interesting tonight in the fact that the road was flooded... and so I drove my vehicle through a patch of quite deep quite fast flowing water on my way to GZ... but after navigating the waters a car sped past me towards the water and hit the breaks quite hard before hitting it at pace. I was quite amused by this but I am sure that the occupants got quite a fright. Anyway, I made my way on foot to GZ and quickly had the log book in hand. It has been signed S.T.P. and put back nicely all ready for the next finder. And yes... it is a pretty grotty place. So thank you once again G-2 for setting up all of your caches including this one. As always... much appreciated
I read the name of this cache, I read the description, thought "do I really want to look for this one?" Of course the answer was yes. I'm out caching and looking for any that show up on my map. Yes, I must admit I cannot understand how people can be too lazy to do the right thing with rubbish. I spotted too many places today where people had just thrown their rubbish wherever they felt like throwing it. I reckon the council should have a few cameras around in random places and issue some hefty fines. THAT might make people stop and think!!!!
Apart from that, what a brilliant place so close to the city. I reckon I could live here on 10 acres quite happily - - - a few sheep and hens - - - Yeah right. Dreams are free .
Oh, and the cache, I didn't even need to look for it - - -it was right there . TFTH .

With late start to the work day today, down the southern parts of the city, I decided to take a couple of hours this morning and dedicate them to finding caches. Turned out to be very pleasant on the weather front for it this morning. I parked up just a little further along from GZ and walked back. Spotted something that piqued my interest on approach. Closer inspection confirmed the find. Log was wet and a little tricky to sign, but otherwise fine due to its waterproof nature. Cheers for the cache placement!
Was in Auckland for the Foodstuffs trade show and someone needed to go to the airport to pick up a college who was arriving on the morning flight so I decided to volunteer as the others had other plans.
Having found a cache along here yesterday I had scoped the area out and knew that this was going to be a very easy park and grab and as it was still very early in the morning, the traffic was very light as well as it was school holiday, I think I would not have being able to do this otherwise.
Finding a parking spot within a few metres of GZ it was a very easy walk to GZ, managed to spot something very quickly and was glad that I managed to get the cache so quickly. Signed log and then replaced it back as found.
Thanks G-2 for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (13269), Was glad that I found it so quickly as I was turning around to head for the airport I got a text saying my college was just getting off his flight, perfect timing as I will be at breakfast on time in Greenlane if the traffic isn't too bad.

Out today collecting caches for the Planetary Pursuit challenge and needed some quick and easy finds. And this almost proved to be the case here. There was only a little time spent on the search before something slightly out of place was noticed. A clever cammo here. Log slightly damp otherwise all good with this cache. Found with Purply and Darthcacher1. TFTC
Definitely a grotty location, shame about all the dumping.
We had an idea as to where this one would be and were pleased to find we were correct but it was concealed so well we almost overlooked it.
Thanks G-2 for a great cache to finish our afternoon.

A bit slow on this one. Totally missed the obvious. Took far longer than it should have done. Very good.
Out with Merlot58 enjoying the nice weather. I noticed something that fit the hint and scared away a jumping spider to prove that my first instinct was correct.
As the weather had improved Aiden29 and I decided to enjoy a walk through Stonefields, then pick up some of the nearby Grottys. Oh my goodness, so much rubbish has been dumped along this road... why do people do that?! Aiden had an inkling where this cache was and she was correct
TFTC. Having delivered the noncacher to the airport I decided to increase my numbers as I had a couple of hours spare.
Another great camo job by G-2
Thanks G-2 for placing the cache.

Out for a round of mini golf with the kids so decided to pick up a few local caches. I zoned in on this cache straight away Not sure why some of the dumped items aren't just taken to charity shops as they certainly look useable! TFTC!
Such quick success so time for a few more. Distracted by another ménage a trois but knew that was too easy. A bit more thinking and there we are. TFTC
Out today for a numbers run. Found the hint objects at GZ and the clue provided a quick find. TFTC
Got my bike back from Wellington and had nice and plesant journey in the Mangere area. Quick find. Well placed TFTC
On a trip up to Auckland airport and I left a couple of hours early to give me time to find a few caches.... as we all do! I looked around - no obvious place, then went back to the car for a think and then turned around to look an spotted it! TFTC
What an overpowering smell once u get out of the car.. was greeted by the local herd of cows who were eating a cardboard box. Unfortunately we could not reach the box or the other rubbish in the paddock. Great to practice CITO.
Spotted where it was before I got out of the car. Signed the log without any problems. TFTC
Is this cache missing its casing? or is it meant to be like this in the big casing? was certainly an interesting find.
I have set myself a challenge for this year to have at least the same number of caches on each day of my calender as the number of years I have been caching.
Today the target is six. Today is my Geocaching birthday so the daily total has gone up by one. It is going to be hard to resist the others in the general area but I will leave them for tomorrow.
Cheers for the cache.

Back in NZ after a trip to OZ, so just had to grab a nearby cache before hitting the road. A relatively quick find, even in the dark, thx to the good hint. TFTC
This was our first cache for the afternoon. We had done one or two down the very start of this road on an earlier trip across to Auckland, but today we had a circuit of caches to attempt.
A nice, easy find. Thanks for the hide.
