Camping nearby and happy to see a cache.A nice easy find, although very wet underfoot. Thanks for the cache.
Day 2 of our New Zealand holiday, and our second day cache has been found! We camped here overnight, so a nice little walk after brekky. Thank you
Had parked overnight at the nearby DOC campground, so made sure to grab this cache before leaving this morning. Nice quick find here, TFTC

15:45FITW my MomHave driven past Lake Pearson so many times but this is the first time stopping!Quite crowded here. The water did look very inviting, and some people were already swimming. We walked to the cache, just a tiny bit of bushbashing. Easy find there. Logbook a bit worn but cache still ok.Kia ora! Paldies! Thanks for the cache, TwoSharpe!#10073
After spending a rather sleepless windy and rainy night nearby we ummed and arred about what to do today. We decided we would carry on with plan A for the day and find a few caches as we made our way to Christchurch. When we were last here we did not try for this cache as there were hoards of people camping all through this area, so we were surprised to see that there were hardly any campers in the small camping area.We made our way to find the cache treading carefully around the prickles. The cache was soon located and the log signed. Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley
After lunch we headed here, quick fund as per hint.
Off to the South Island for the first time in a while, off to visit our youngest daughter and her partner at their digs near Cass out on the West Coast Road. First full day in the area and some local places to visit along with our hosts the newly cacher named OffSeason19. A trip to Cass, off to Kura Tāwhiti and Castle Hill village and all was good. Thanks to all COs.

A relatively quick find on our way home. Stopped at the lake for a quick break and I had to check for caches in the area. My pen sadly gave up, so adding a photo of the log as proof. TFTC
Heading back East to the plains today. Nice spot to take a break for a few minutes. No worries here. TFTC
Beautiful peaceful place. Quick grab, but many insects and thorns there. Thank you for the cache.
We stay tonight on the campsite. So I walked to the cache. The last 30 meters were difficult. But finding the cache was easy. Thanks for placing this cache..
Doch letztlich konnten wir „the egg“ glücklich in Händen halten. Danke fürs Herlocken!

Found on the ground. Container broken and pad a bit wet. Have replaced the container with a larger one. TFTC
A little bit of a clamber to get to the right place but we got here, signed the log and rehid. Thanks for the placement.
Greetings from Queensland! We have 1 final full day in NZ so going for a drive up to Arthur’s pass to check out the scenery.
A beautiful lake to stop at here, definitely a great camping spot. On approach to GZ the ground got very muddy and squelchy and I had to be careful of where to put my feet! Thankfully there was a small dry bit of land next to GZ and I could find and sign the log without falling in the mud.

Found heading home from our west coast road trip. A bit wet underfoot but an easy find once we got to the willows. TFTC
Staying at Lake Pearson campground and decided to take a walk around and grab the caches nearby. This was the closest to the campground but had to be careful walking in with all the uneven surface. Nice quick find once at GZ. Thanks for the hide
It was rather unpleasant here. Very muddy and wet, and lots of thistles as well. I never got a good zero, and found a stone in one tree near my GZ, and another one that had fallen and rotted. But no cache. So I'd written it off as a DNF. It was only after seeing the hide at the previous cache further along that I realised the stone was probably the hide spot. So I stopped in on the way back, and had a fossick among the thistles below, and managed to find it. Yay. Put back under the stone. TFTC.
Cache found on a 4 day caching adventure across to the West Coast. Started in Westport and traveled down to Greymouth and Hokitika and the hinterland. Sorry for the generic log but found so many great caches on our journey. Many thanks for all the Cache owners for the cache placement maintaining the caches. Bit wet underfoot here todayTFTC
Found cache just sitting in the open on branch, so hide it a bit better. - Thanks Bitsprayer
Found second time around. Gumboots helped to get there. Cache was on the ground so popped back about head high. TFTC
There was a couple camping near the fence we went through and after finding the cache in the first place we looked, we went back and talked to them for about half an hour. They were from Wellington and were enjoying a camping holiday around the South Island. They knew about geocaching but haven't done any for a long time. They were looking forward to watching the stars tonight.
It was impossible to walk alongside the lake, so we found an inland route, and once there, the cache was quickly found, although as lytteltonwitch says there are some nasty prickles nearby. TFTC
We both were wearing waterproof sandals which were useful here. We found a soggy route to GZ - and the GPS kept changing where it thought that was as well. SoBad made the find and then we found a dry route back to the car.
Thanks.
Thanks.
My goodness, that Chelsea was a very prolific hen! We have lots to thank her and her mother for. Thanks for putting one of the caches here. A great plan .
Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on the many wet or plastic logs)
*We soon had another good cache located!*

Cool spot to stay the night but still too cold. Quick find passing through.
Staying at the camp here for the night so went to find this one. Log book is very damp. TFTC
#18428. We'd already made the one find we needed for the day in Hokitika before the rain started there. By the time we got here it was drizzling and miserable, but not raining. Last time we'd stopped here the muggle factor was too high, so in the end we figured by stopping on a grotty day the muggle factor should be manageable. There were a few cars in the carpark, but all was quiet at GZ. I was lagging behind a bit (needed to get my gummies on). When I got to GZ Troodles was still searching. I joined her and was pleased when she found it soon thereafter. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on a wet and miserable day en route back from Hokitika.
We left Hokitika well before 9am in pouring rain and had hoped that there would be a break in the weather as we drove across the divide, so we could find a cache or 2. No such luck . By the time we got here, we were ready for a leg stretch and the muggle factor, not surprisingly, was low, so on with the rain jackets.
Once I got to the right willow, the cache didn't take long to find. Now, we are already a bit damp, so onwards to the next cache. TFTC.

From Papa Ambroses fishing spot we straddle the tall wet grass trying to avoid the boggy bits to find a track to take us out here. Lots of icy bits. Some so thick you can walk on it. Take the direct route through the stream to finally snag and tag this egg in the willows. Cheers .
Sundays here and we explored from Lake Pearson to Bealey today. Lets get started!
Its Queens Birthday weekend and The Seagnoid, Zara and I are heading out of town for a long weekend to Arthurs Pass, via Kaikoura. Had a fantastic weekend, seeing lots of new places, limestone formations, amazing views, awesome beech forest walks, but getting nowhere fast. Bloody cold at times with -3deg frosts but thankfully the snow stayed on the top of the highest mountains.. Enjoyed driving back via Lake Brunner, Murchison. An awesome few days exploring.

There is a heavy mist this morning, and everything is clothed in white. And the photo here is my favourite photo of the entire trip - feels like a horror movie! Getting a favourite just for the eerie atmosphere that the CO has provided.
Taybeedragon and I are on a five day extended Queen's Birthday weekend. Happy birthday marm! The plan was to cache the Arthur's Pass route, from Rangiora to Lake Buller. You would think four days was enough to do the 211 kilometers, but we didn't even manage the 130 to Arthur's Pass village before we had to pull the pin Monday lunchtime for the drive back to Blenheim. But on the way we saw some amazing views, strange geology, weird amounts of ice in the puddles, ice on the inside of our windscreen - it was that cold. Caves, wonderful beech forests, rather a lot of bridge barriers and even a cache or few. And there was blisters, sliding down icy grassy hills on our bums (what fun!) and rather a lot of walking. Many thanks to all the cache owners that made this such an amazing trip.

Out today with coconuts3 on a 4WD outing. We met near here at the start of our day. TFTC
Box is still there! A bit wet but still hidden! Tftc, we are camping here for the night
Ok, here's the deal: in this water logged/flooded terrain with willow trees, grass, lake water and prickles in my barefeet, I hunted around in open ground and tree. NO FIND CACHE, but I did find 50mm of a 150mm flat head galvanised nail nailed in to the base of a large willow. I'm claiming this as my find due to duress and my suspicion that the true cache was nailed to the tree with it and weather has removed it. That's my story, anyway. If the cache maker can verify, great. I couldn't do better because data gave me no App access here. Good luck to the next. Even when data kicked in it didn't make sense. Bla bla bla.
Quite a soggy trek to go but we got it done. Heading back to Christchurch to catch a flight home to Texas tomorrow. Tftc!
Arrived to find another car parked up not too far from where I parked. Followed the track right to GZ. Perfect! A large motorhome drove in as I left - nice place to spend the night actually. TFTC # 13,856
On our way home from a 4x4 trip into Hawdon and the Poulter River. Only one night as Porters Pass was closed Saturday due to heavy snow. We decided on a stop at Lake Pearson and to look for cache nearby. Nest is safe, thanks for this cache TwoSharpe.
Another great find thank you. We have been staying at the castle hill village. On our way home we decided to stop at the lake. Didn’t take to long
A mornings caching around the area. About time i stopped for this one and his nearby mate. Nice spot, cheers.
Staying at this beautiful spot for a night and taking the opportunity to kayak around the lake and nab a few easy caches.
Camped at Pearson Lake for the night. After dinner we hiked out to the nearby cache. Thanks for the cache.
Found this one while on a holiday away from our home in Whangamata Thanks for the cache
After caching out the Cragieburn Road it was time for a sammie. We knew of a nice scenic place that had a cache to boot. It was no contest. We enjoyed both before slowly making our way home again. Thank you TwoSharpe
After hunting down most of the caches along Craigieburn Rd we drove the short distance to here to have a late lunch beside the lake. Needless to say if there is a conveniently placed cache nearby we will look for that before we leave again. We did have to negotiate some less than ideal underfoot conditions to get there though but that is unimportant when there's a cache to be found.
Thank you TwoSharpe.
Thank you TwoSharpe.
Found in the cold and dark, no one around unlike last time I stopped here. TFTC TwoSharpe

Fast find at the lake, also if the parking is closed. Just parked infront of it

As I was returning to home from a cache raid on the West Coast I noticed that I had a couple of unfounds at Lake Pearson. Why not stop and tick them off my unfound list? I had to give up searching for this one a couple of months back due camping muggles so I thought I'd give it another go. Oh dear, muggles cars and tents still close by today, but I could so no sign of humans so I made a silent approach, signed the cache and departed without attracting anyone's attention. [^] Thanks for the placement TwoSharpe.
After returning to Cass from my Bealey Spur cache raid and re-hydrating myself I decided to add a couple more nearby caches to today's tally. However this was not to be one of them as 2 campers were sitting sunning themselves just 5m from GZ. The cache will keep.
Today's mission was a drive from Christchurch to Greymouth on my way home to Nelson. Trying to find 'a few' caches along the way. It's been ages since I travelled this route so there were actually heaps of caches to find and at the end of the day my tally was 81. Biggest cache day for me for a while. Lots of people in the camping area but luckily the cache was in a more secluded spot. TFTC, Biggles.
Stayed here for 2 windy nights and had to explore the beautiful shores of the lake! Quick find tftc cvitamin
