Left the car down by the sea and walked up. I'm sure my little car would have made it, but my nerves wouldn't and the exercise was certainly beneficial. The cache wasn't quite where the GPS was pointing but it didn't take long to track down. TFTC.
Out enjoying a drive while finding some geocaches. Lots of stinging nettle which I showed to cousin from Holland. We went to cache avoiding this and were happy to sign log. Thanks for the cache N!mrod.
Op vakantie in Nieuw-Zeeland, sightseeing en geocaching. Dankjewel voor deze cache.
After visiting the ANZAC service at 6.15am French Farm we thought of looking for this cache. Found with no problem. Thanks for hiding.
After attending the ANZAC service at Fremch Farm at 6.15am we were ready to find this cache. Didn’t take us long to find. Thank you for hiding!
I had picked up BaldEd for a trip out to Akaroa and the Southern coast of Banks Peninsula.
BaldEd kept saying that I had to use 4WD up this road. I got up in 2WD with no trouble.
Cheers for the cache.

We approached from the bottom, avoiding the worst steep section of the road. The find took quite a while. The GPS, while jumpy under the trees, appeared tp settle down on a spot with no cache. Only after we scrambled much further up the slope than the GPS indicated did we achieve rapid success. We did maintenance, replacing the disgusting soaking log. TFTC
Took a while to find with GPS moving logbook completely soaked and needs replacing
Staying nearby at the YMCA. Drove up. No worries on the road given how dry it had been. GPS zeroed in on the right place after I got into the clear.
This brings back many memories from my first camp at the YMCA 50 years ago! We tramped around this region and always loved the stunning views.
Found with Envy-Us on a caching trip around the southern sector of Banks Peninsular. Took a bit of searching to locate this one, TFTC
Had a stunning day driving around some of the peninsular. Great weather and some amazing views, and roads! Most finds were straight forward, but sadly noted many lonely caches. TFTC
The cache was only 1km from my bed at camp, so I decided to make the most of a couple of free hours in the late afternoon to come and explore. I did start by car, but when I saw the start of the road, I decided to park up by the bridge and walk from there. Funnily enough it was a great road after the initial few meters in spite of a 4wd only warning a bit higher up, but I needed the walk anyway so was pleased to have picked that option. It took a while to locate the cache as the GPS was quite jumpy among the trees. TFTC!!
Had been in Akaroa for a few days, and this cache was on my list to help me complete a challenge cache. My 2WD managed the road up to this cache with no issues, so thankfully I didn't need to go up any further. Spotted the cache after a few minutes. Thanks for the cache.
Straightforward find on a greasy road. Many thanks. Logbook was sodden and needs to be replaced. Cheers
WE are running around these gravel backroads in banks Peninsular for the day. A real Toby road and hes enjoying it. Found this one just hanging around. Log damp here. These trees are interesting. The Seagnoid says they are loud care of the cicadas. Lets roll along now.
Its Saturday - day three - Little River - Akaroa today. Lets go exploring.
Its Waitangi Day - day one of a five day weekend exploring the amazing Canterbury, with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby, Jack and Jill. Two days Rangiora, a day in Lyttleton and 2 days in Banks Peninsula. I got call from The Seagnoid, hes taking a long weekend. Lets go to the West Coast! Lets Go!! but maybe not the West Coast - rain on the way. So lets go to Canterbury. We leave for Christchurch Tuesday evening after picking up The Seagnoid after work. We make camp for the night at Amberly. Today its off to Rangiora for a cycle trip.

Wellington and Dunedin's roads were laid out by town planners in London. In Wellington the roading guys said "You want the road to go up there?!? Bugger that, we'll wind it around this way!" Whereas in Dunedin they said "You want the road to go up there?!? Well, okaayy...". I think this road was put in by the Dunedin crew.
The dragon says these are impressive trees. I say they are loud. Well no, not loud, exactly. More like LOUD. Normal conversation levels were not good enough. Those cicadas are going overtime!
Down to Christchurch with Taybeedragon, Zara and Toby for a five day weekend starting Waitangi Day (which this year fell on a Wednesday. I reckon half the country would have been taking 5 day weekends!). A couple of days in Rangiora. We did two cycle trails there - having two vehicles makes it so easy. One of those cycle trails was fifty caches. Fifty caches in one day on a bicycle! Then a day in Lyttelton and couple of days exploring the back roads around Akaroa. Darn close to two hundred caches in all. Dropped off a lot of path tags along the way, especially if the cache was nice and dry

I was barking up the wrong tree here. Thank goodness for a bit of supervision/super vision from KR. TFTC
An easy find, though not quick, as the coords were a lttle out according to my gps. Keep looking, it is an easy "hide". Thanks
A nice Saturday drive with Ms KR on some of the back roads to Akaroa.
Thanks to the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches. Cheers.

Had a great day fishing and a lovely picnic and headed home over the hill from Wainui. Took a bit to locate but our youngest cachelet came up with the goods.
Thanks for the cache N!mrod.

The weather forecast for Sunday was good so StreetWalker and I planned a day exploring the scenic southern route from Little River to Wainui.
We had passed by the top end of Jubilee Rd as we drove along Bossu Rd, but had a few more caches to find before driving the coastal route to Wainui, so approached this cache from the bottom. The road was fine coming from that direction. Another find for SW while my GPSr was insisting GZ was still 100m away! TFTC.

#15607. We had no trouble with the drive to GZ. Once there I scrambled up the bank, and soon spotted the cache (GPSr did pretty well given the less than ideal reception conditions). TFTC.
I dropped our daughter off at work in Wainui this morning and took the opportunity to grab a few caches in the hills above. Actually that was 22 caches, 5 cache types, in 5 hours. At the end of it the only dry item of clothing I was wearing was my woolly hat (inside the hood of my jacket). I stopped at Little River for a pie and a hot chocolate, after getting dry and changing my clothes!
This was my first stop and the last time I was dry until Little River. Nicely protected from the weather on this side. A quick find on the way up. The road didn't seem too bad up to here, though I could see why 4WD beyond. Thankfully I had that covered.

We came up from the bottom, so fortunately perhaps, didn't experience the really steep parts of the road. It took a wee while to find the correct tree, when the cache became obvious. For us it was a little west of the coordinates, but GPS accuracy wasn't good. We had to empty some water out of the cache, but the logbook was ok. TFTC
Found during a tour of the Banks Peninsula. I do not think it is important on this peninsula where you go, everywhere there are wonderful views. Thanks for the cache.
We drove down the road to Wainui, then decided to come up Jubilee Road; this one took us a bit longer than it should have.
Ladies expedition to the Southern Bays with Jude_E & busy paws.
A fun day out caching, finding a few solved puzzles and a number of other caches along the way.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, N!mrod.

Well this took a bit of a search. Great cache when eventually found with KotukuSI and JudeE. GPS was pretty helpless! Go with instinct.TFTH Enjoyed this one.
Glad we came down in our 2WD, there are some very steep sections on this road. Found with AorakiSheep
A wee break in possum control proceedings (being we were doing the hills just behind this cache) so we grabbed this cache. A short wander up to GZ and success. Traversed this road quite a few times on the quad! Cheers
Our 2WD did a valiant job. Pleased we didn't meet anything coming down. Spent some time looking before we looked further afield. Easy to spot. TFTC
Five set off on a caching adventure from Tekau Bay before the day got too hot. Jubilee Road was our first stop. This was a nice shaded spot for searching. After some fruitless searching a causal glance at RogoBaby secured the find. The day was heating up!
What a great hide.
Thanks for a fantastic cache.

Out on a mission to sign off a number of caches on the SW side of Banks Peninsula. After finding Bossu Hilton I changed my mind from descending down to Little River and instead decided to visit this cache. Descending down from Bossu Rd (in 4WD, 1st gear) my thoughts were, "Wow, what steep road! Glad I am decending and not climbing it." I appreciated the large parking area, particularly as I was signing the log a spreader truck and the farmer's 4wd utility vehicle arrived and turned in through the adjacent farm gate. I guess the farmer must have wondered why that 'strange' vehicle was parked there. . Thanks for the cache N!mrod.
We did a detour up here for two Caches, before heading to Akaroa for the night. But we couldn't see the Wood for the Trees,so finally gave up and went on up to Bossu Road..
On the way back down,we just had to stop and look again and of course there it was waiting for us,to sign..D'oh..TFTH..

**FTF** 11pm
Saw a bunch of caches published out HillTop way during the day...hhmmmm......they're fun looking roads (been on a couple of them before but not Duvauchelle Stock Route or Jubilee Rd). Boys late to bed but once they were snoring....why not; an evenings adventure, in for a penny. Too late & too far I thought to rouse TW so tried KarmaReprint, but of all things he was stuck at work doing fancy pants IT shutdown fixing twiddling stuff. Oh well. Lonely me in for a cool night drive.
After success grabbing all the new Stock Route caches I tootled around to Wainui aiming for this road. Not at all sure what to expect as I have never ventured up here before. Surprised as heck at the number of sections for sale and the number of properties/houses along the lower section. Jeepers; bit narrow and steep in places. As CO mentioned easy parking at GZ (surprising given some of the stretches of road!). Soon enough had the cool wee cache in hand. Had a giggle as the sound of my wagon going uphill had excited all the cows 'in the area' and they were all bellowing for food - 11pm, Oops (hee hee hee). Right. Onwards to the top & Bossu Rd. Far out. Some of the latter bits of Jubilee were dodgy, narrow, rocky. Not sure what would happen if you met a car coming the other way?! My plan being I was heading uphill so I had right of way?! Not sure that that would have worked though - some of it was definitely one car wide!! Luckily no one around. Managed all the road sections (Stock & Jubilee) in 2wd - most happy...Jubilee definitely a might bit steep heading up. My guess it would be equally interesting heading downhill due to the same reason. Onwards. Have travelled Bossu before so all good.
