we just had to do this one as loved the story and just had to see the car! But sadly a DNF for us.
Found by The Empire + HOur journey began in Mildura, a city that had charmed us with its riverside beauty and vibrant culture. The landscape transitioned from riverine plains to arid expanses. Our journey continued to unfold as we crossed the border into South Australia. The shift in landscapes, culture, and atmosphere marked a new chapter in our adventure, as we left New South Wales behind and embraced the unique offerings of South Australia. Our expedition through South Australia led us to the enchanting town of Morgan, nestled along the meandering banks of the mighty Murray River. This picturesque riverside destination promised a unique blend of history, natural beauty, and tranquil charm. As H slept, I ducked off the side of the road here and there to grab some quick finds. Thanks for the cache Greenos.- M
Heading home to Sydney from Wallaroo and trying to get a cache in every town as I go...
Pulled over for this quick find while caching this little corner. Not much left of dad's car these days but a cool story to go with the cache
Great story and cache! Luckily I checked the geocaches in the area when I had stopped waiting fkr my partner on her run across Australia (#RunAustralia) and found this cache was only a kilometre away! Road was a bit busy so be careful where you pull over, but after reading the story how could I not try and get this one! Thanks for the cache and the tale of the car
Well it was time to start the long drive home from rural SA to the ACT. I decided to stop in Eudunda when I seen the information about it being the home town of Colin Thiele, who is actually my great uncle! I had no idea this was his birth town and the town is dedicated to him. I absolutely loved the short time I spent here, and it sure did pull on the heartstrings seeing the statue for him and all the write ups about him. I must spend more time here next time I am coming through Time to continue on the road.
No issues locating this one, signed and replaced as found.

My last day of my 5 day Geocaching long weekend away. This would be Find Number 14 of 21 for the day.
The rain managed to stop just long enough for me to grab the cache.

Time to head for home but not without some serious geocaching on the way, with Jolly0.
With Jolly0 leading the way, we made this unexpected stop for a cache she had already found. Fascinating story. TFTC Greenos

Time to stretch my legs.
After a most relaxing couple of days on the Proud Mary cruising on the river, it was time to track down some caches. But first an overnight stay in Karoonda to recharge for an early start and then head off on another adventure.
The plan is to grab caches in the last few LGA for me to complete that challenge.

Day 5 was Port Augusta to Mildura. An early start had me watching the sunrise over The Remarkables. Another amazing day on the road. Thank you!

Caching has fallen by the wayside with everything that has been going on, work, lockdowns, blah, blah...so we needed to get away for a bit of R&R after lockdown so headed to Loch Luna for the weekend to refresh and cache!. An epic day today with 30 fnds and 3 DNF's. A Quick find, but not what was expected.... TFTC
Take two. It's amazing what you find when you brush a bit of sand away. Well not sure how long the car has been in its current position but a nice place for a cache. TFTC
We are out on a camping trip as the land vehicle with a couple of yachts travelling up the river.
Doing a few caches whilst travelling between camp spots.
Just loved the story behind this cache. Gets a favourite point.
Thanks Greenos.

Thanks to the caching community to ensure we have plenty to search for. If it were not for them, we would not be at this hide today.

A quick find, Thanks for the cache, Oh I found a bit of rust on the car, might want to get it fixed, might devalued the car on a trade in. TFTHSL Cheers
After much walking around in circles and nearly driving off one last try and I found it.
I should have gone with my gut feeling to start with.

Stopping by on our way to Mildura. Was great to read the story about this old cars life. Glad that your dad came out of it all ok. Sounds like the car has had a colourful life since it stopped here! Definitely something interesting to spot on this long stretch of road! The cache is in good condition. Thanks for placing this cache here.

Having 2 weeks off over Chistmas and New Year's gave me the chance to head home to Adelaide for the 1st time in a year! [^]
Such a nice feeling [^] to be heading back to spend some quality time with some much loved [:X] SA people
Today, Christmas Eve, Moneydork, Rex and I headed out caching and as per most usual Moneydork cache trips, I had no idea where we might end up
We did end up at Nuriootpa where we caught up with SnappyTomCats and grabbed some caching supplies before we all tried to find a cache at the Nuriootpa library but .... sadly the library was shut (Google was NOT our friend!) and so we missed out There was 1 more DNF due to cache blindness this time and 30 cache finds for me while Moneydork only managed a few .
A HOT [xx(] and HUGE [xx(] day out and yes, I did utter the words 'no more, it's too hot to be walking out in the bush finding caches[xx(][xx(][xx(]' and they were literally park and grabs too [xx(]
Then it was back to Berri to pick up Tounga [^] before we then headed to Loxton to attend the Christmas Lights event [^]
As I have been about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby

Found during our galavant along the Goyder. We started in Crystal Brook and headed along the whole highway to the end, overnighting in Barmera with family. We saw a few recently deserted cars along this end of the highway. Thanks for showing us this one.
Found with dty73 and youban on the way home from the Yorke Peninsula. Log signed as DTY (dty73 Tankengine youban). Thanks g
As this is a generic log comments relevant to this cache will be placed at the end. On a caching trip with Dty73 & Tankengine to Yorke Peninsula. Team signed as DTY. Thank you all the cache owners who have put so much effort in placing and maintaining these caches. Heading back home and doing a few caches on the way. Left this one for our homeward trip. Easier from this side of the road. Kutgw
We have a small team travelling to The Yorke Peninsula from Canberra. It was decided by the group before we left that our team name would be DTY, although I act like the boss, I rarely am and so the initials actually stand for - dty73, Tankengine & Youban.
Today was the last day of our caching holiday and so we headed from the Yorke Peninsula this morning back to Mildura for the night, before heading to Canberra the next day.
We had read all about this one in the way past when we came over, but we were on a tighter time limit. So now on the way home we decided to pick this one up. A straightforward find with only a few places left on the log. Nice story and spot for a park and grab. Tftc Greenos!!!

I had this one earmarked as it’s within a county I needed to pick up, but also because of the back story. As I walked towards the wreck, I contemplated where it would be hidden, until I realized I didn’t have to go through the fence. An intriguing bit of history, particularly because of its personal and localized nature.
