This was my second attempt at this cache. I was searching high and low and wasn't having any luck. A lil hint from a previous finder had me in the right position.. after a little more searching I finally spotted something that stood out abit.
At first I thought I had the logbook in hand and I was wrong, went back down and BOOM, tucked away i found it.
Thank you

Funny this story doesn't get as much attention as Burke and Wills. Not as much tragedy it seems.
After a search on the wrong side, I spotted this one and had a smile at the container. A simple but effective hide, that seems to get overlooked. Thanks for the cache here.

I found a few others along this path a few years ago but didn't have time then to complete the walk. Today on my way back down to the beach I stopped off to look for the others finally.
I spotted the hide quite quickly here but then dropped something from the cache and thought the log was missing. After looking a bit more carefully I spotted the second part of the hide and was able to add my name to the log. With all parts of the cache back in place I had a bit of a chuckle about the theme of the hide, thanks for the cache Na'wal.

Took the dog for a walk and doing a little geocaching along the way. We searched & searched and searched but we were unsuccessful.
We decided to head down to Geelong for the night and took the opportunity to collect some smileys as we went.
We didn't think we were going to find this one until we approached it differently.
Thanks for the cache.

Out and about for the day of Christmas events.
It was now coming up to part 5, the dinner event and seeing that we had a little bit of time to fill in, I headed over to this series with GemmaSistema and Posums to see what we could find.
We arrived at this one and started looking around but nothing was standing out as a hide, the search continued and eventually I spotted something that didn't seem as though it belonged, not sure why we didn't see it sooner, maybe the tree branches were covering it, anyway it was the cache hide and the log was then signed.
**Thanks to Na'wal for placing this cache.**

Heading to the last event for the day which was dinner at the Lara Sports Club we had a bit of time up our sleeves.
So SteMicMitSar, GemmaSistema and myself went for a stroll along the creek to see if we could pick up a couple more caches.
Horsepower was definitely needed back then as we are spoilt with our 4WD’s and chainsaws.
Thanks Na’wal TFTC.

Ooh this one took a long time before the call of “got it” surfaced. A little time to spare saw me having a walk with POSUMS and SteMicMitSar before the nearby dinner event. Many thanks for the cache.
A few of the Hume and Hovell series were on the target list this time as we cached with ilook4geo. Co-ords were good so the cache was found nice and quickly. All was good with the container and log which was signed to keep things in order. The history of the expeditions and explorations of Hume and Hovell are interesting to read. Many thanks go to Na'wal for the information about different aspects of the explorers' lives back then.
Thanks also for the placement and maintenance of this cache.

This cache was found while caching around the area with goingplaces2. Enjoyed making the find here and being able to add some more smiley faces to the map. Container was found, log was signed, job done! TFTC.
TFTC Na'wal and your continued maintenance of same. Very good camo in play here. Well done .
Beware of wriggle sticks and the steep embankment. Good place for gloves.
All good at GZ TNLN

This was my last free weekend day whilst Tarbit was holidaying overseas and so a plan was hatched to tackle some caches in the You Yangs with SirJ-Oz. As per usual I did the driving and he did the navigating. After 24 finds in the You Yangs park and 7 in Little River we headed down towards Lara to grab some dinner. Feeling refreshed after a nearby pub meal and a pint we gave this one a try after a couple of nearby finds. We walked to this one after a nearby DNF in the fading light. SJO was quick to spot sometihng and soon after had the cache in hand. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache TR!
Find #4138. Found @ 20:37 with Annoying Tarbit
The plan for today was to visit the You Yangs and surrounds with Annoying Tarbit, and have a day of caching. We didn't count on the Great Circle Drive being closed, so ended up doing (according to my fitbit) almost 20kms of walking for the day. It was a long day with AT collecting me at 8am and I got home again about 10pm.
A nice quick find after walking from the previous DNF. I managed to spot the camouflage straight away.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache Na'wal

Moving on from a cache that I had a DNF on I went to this one. Fortunately I found it after a couple of minutes and my name is in the book, Long time since a find.
Continuing along this great part of the river and I decided to tackle this one. Quite difficult with not many spots (so I thought) to hide, and lots of locals walking past and people doing their daily business in their backyards! I had an idea and went to take some pictures of the river and then on the way back up I noticed something.....could it...nah....well maybe...and there I found a nicely hidden cache! TFTC

Happy Australia Day! A walk along the river was called for this morning. Had to wait out plenty of walkers, old and young, prams and bikes. Thanks for the cache Na'wal.

Checked out this cache after being notified of maybe something wrong. All was perfect other than prop had been taken. Serviced and ready to go Happy Caching
Enjoy cold sunny walking all the way to find the The Hume & Hovell Series cache.

Fantastic camo and a well thought out cache... as expected from this CO TFTC and a fav point added
After not finding nearby Rations, I headed here and had the cache in hand quickly. Surprisingly, as its so well camoed, and also as there was a muggle right over the fence on the phone. Had to be so steathy. Loved the construction - have a fave point here. TFTC
Some nice camo at work here. An early morning visit meant that we didn't have any traffic on the path (or awkward questions!). TFTC
Geology had a heart attack at this one thinking she had broken something! On our walk here we did see 2 fish hanging from a tree, rather odd! Tftc!!
I probably approached this one the hard way but I could see that I wasn't the only one who has recently gone this way. I do like this cache...it's clever, so have a favourite point. As I was signing the log a local was wandering by and warned me to be careful about Brown Snakes he's seen nearby. I now felt quite vulnerable. Just as well I have a snake bite kit...too bad it was in the car! Geez, I don't even know if they work anyway.....thanks Na'wal for the creative hide.
Found by Mary & David at 1238. Back again for our cache of the day. Once again walked from Archimedes Ave. The creek looked cool and peaceful against the brown grass backdrop. A slightly longer search this time, but soon spotted the camo and revealed the cache. Nice one. Our thanks to Na'wal.
A little search here and I was caught by a local muggle. He met you when you were placing the cache. That made me feel better. SIgned in and moved on leaving him to spray his weed along the fence.
Thanks for the nicely themed cache here Na'wal.

Heading to the airport after attending the Surf Coast Event and picking up a few caches on the way. Loved the container. Thanks Na'wal.
Picked up with the Capital Crunchers Team on our way up to check out Bells Beach. Cache found in good condition TFTC
Found with joojoo57 on our way to the Airport after the South Coast Event. Thanks CO for the effort made with this cache and a favorite point from me.

A quick visit to Lara and a few smilies to boot. A nice walk around here. Found the cache container from the easier terrain. A well constructed cache and thankfully we don't have to use horsepower anymore. Thanks for the cache Micheal, a fave of course.

I spent today in the Lara area. My tally in the end was 30 caches, 10 of these puzzles and the day was loosely organised around the CITO event early afternoon.
On my travels I ran into my good friend Astro from Adelaide and we teamed up for an hour or two enjoying the weather and the hides on offer.
So many of the hides were by Mr Na'wal and you set the bar so high around here. Lara is certainly now a centre of caching excellence.
I made the terrain on this way harder than necessary. Great hide and well constructed

On my first day off of the week I have come to Lara to get as many caches as possible. I always love a well constructed cache. This one gets a fav point from me.

Our geo-map indicated a smorgasbord of caches around Lara, so we set out today in an attempt to appease the hunger. We originally learnt of the exploits of these two explorers way back in secondary school. Definitely arrived with a preconceived idea of what to look for, dismissed this clever hide before rethinking the whole thing. Worthy of a Favorite point.
Our thanks to Na'wal for placing this series.

Found it....VERY clever hide! Didn't want to touch it at first, but we'll disguised! Well done! TFTC!
Strangely, my GPSr didn't give this cache's name. Now that when I'm home and logging them, do I see the horse which no doubt threw my humble device! Very clever hide and camo! TFTC
What a great cache find this one was and in such a good hiding spot but we had to be watchful due to muggles walking their dogs enjoying the walk along the creek. We will give you a fav from us for the planning and implementation that has gone into this excellent cache - we have seen a few of this type before but this one was the best so far.

Enjoying the stroll alongside the creek, with some nice houses and gardens to view. Arrived at GZ and thought hp?? Closest horses were way over the other side of the creek. I searched around until I spotted something that didn't quite seem to fit. Sure enough it was another crafty container well placed. TFTC
Like many others beforehand we seemed to make hard work of the easy. After scurrying around the embankment below we were a little perplexed as to where the hide might be, with directions from half the team along the lines of "try over there. Well, what about in there?".
As it happens it's those times where you stop and reflect on where you have come from that things become more obvious. It's also these times that you feel like giving yourself a quick kick up the backside for making things harder than they should have been. A clever hide again from Na’wal.
Thanks Na'wal

Team Autumn out today (AutumnCS and myself). My caching senses tinged and the cache was soon found. This one was nice and tricky. TFTC
While Geodaughter was in her art class, I thought I'd drive over and get this series along the river. A little tricky. I looked at this cache but dismissed it. Then after a brief search realised it must have been what I was looking for.

After the first event today it was decided to grab the last unfounds in the area with DAB in readiness for the Birthday Event Dinner to follow. After doing a U bolt at the last Hume & Hovell cache ( or was it the first one? ) and wandering along the path we met a new caching team searching for this sneaky one. Having DAB with us , who happened to be the FTF , was quite handy as he volunteered some help to the McTreasure Seekers, until their young one had his hand on the loot. They hadn't seen that type of hide before so we are glad we could help.
Thanks Na'wal for another well thought out cache container tying in beautifully once again with horsepower.
A fav added

After this afternoon's event and before dinner, we joined a group that consisted of Suss-Vulture, DBelco, geordiefamily, noWorries, TheCoffee's, Honeysucker and breeandlee, for the walk from the RSL. This was our first stop and we found the rations quite easily. We added all our names to the log and moved on to the next one. Starting to wish we had horses with us, this is going to be quite a walk today.

We were part of a substantial group checking out the H&H series. As we stopped here, the crowd was so big that we could not all claim viewing space on the path, so the vulture used his wings to fly onto the other side of the balustrade. As it turned out, it could be accessed readily from inside the fence: When he landed, the camo was already opened by a ground dweller.

After attending the first event in Lara, suscoe and the ageing Red Ant decided to fill in the time before the next event by wandering along Hovells Creek to gather these new caches where I had been to some years ago gathering some caches placed by RedPaw.
Second find along this track and we went the hard way to find another well thought cache which we spotted from our position. I liked the cache notes telling us a little more about this adventure so long ago now.

Suscoe headed out to the north this afternoon to attend some events and along the way we had a few caches to collect.
We had the Red Ant with us for company and so we went from cache to cache.
All quiet here this afternoon.
Starting to undersatnd the cache names now.
Sound pretty soon after arriving.
A little smelly here.

With the light beginning to fade into a rather spectacular sunset over Hovell's Creek, I set a quick pace to GZ. I settled in to start the search as the guys stood back to watch my progress. A bit of a prod and I was soon signing the log as a cyclist whizzed past. With everything replaced, it was off to the next...as I extracted the complementary splinter I acquired as a memento from this search !
Thanks Na'wal !

Clever cache. We were a little bit off with the GPS to begin, but with a redirect from another group of friendly cachers, we finally located it. Great hide. TFTC
What a sneaky cache... Even when we had found it we thought we hadn't... Lol... Great hide!!!
Arriving here with the McPhail Family we didn't know exactly what we were in for. Having a quick look around Geokid was all over it. Gee he pulled a bloody swifty on us and found it. Thanks again Na'wal
Found it right away, pretty easy, it took about 1 minute. Another find by the McPhail family
After returning home from finding the Cargo cache in this series I remembered that its field puzzle was in a zip lock bag and it didn't get returned properly so I jumped back in the car to fix it all up. while I was out I decided with it being a beautiful day I should go for a walk along the path and find this little guy, the only one in the series so far we haven't found yet.
I was taking in the sight along the path. This really is a beautiful spot to walk along the creek and take in the sights.
I arrived at GZ and started with the hunt. My GPS was not behaving very well. It really didn't lock in to any one spot and had me wandering off by quite a long way before it brought me back to somewhere near where I was meant to be.
I was looking high and looking low trying to imagine what type of container or hide the CO would use. He always has creativeness and meaning to his hides. Then I spotted something, That has to be it. Yep! again a very fitting hide for this cache. and a favourite point from us.
Thanks Na'wal for another wonderful cache in a wonderful series that I am enjoying very much. it does help also to get 3 out of 4 first to finds as well.

clever cache container. spent ages looking around and was about to go and saw something... maybe thats it?? ill try... yes!!!!!
Decided to swing past and grab these new caches. The camo here was really good. I followed the path of the big boot imprints, when they stopped, there was the cache, lol. I didn't know that about power. Very interesting. It would be good to go back in time and get to know these people that founded our country's history. Tftc.
FTF Woohoo !!!
Spotted the flashing light on my phone this morning. I was on my way to the little boys room and I thought I better check what the notification was. Hmmm a geocache, a bit early for that sort of shenanigans, isn't it ??.... Anyway back to story, so after emptying my bladder ( and mopping the floor, hey it was dark... ) I hopped back into bed. With my mind racing, should I, shouldn't I...this bed is so warm...
It has been a long time between FTF drinks, so why not, let's go for it. Jumped in the car and made the short journey to GZ. No other cars parked here, but there is a pushbike. Is that a rival for the FTF or has it been dumped here ?? One way to find out. A short walk and I soon spotted the another great hide from the legendary Na'wal. Opened up the log book and it was blank !! An automatic fave point for any FTF from me. Looking forward to the rest in the series. TFTC Na'wal.
