This was the beginning of what might be old big reds last adventure for us. Visiting with a bit of a crew, we found the people in the town, especially in the Licola general store, are so friendly and generous. I loved visiting here, we will definitely be coming back again! The cache is in a nice quiet spot, the log is a bit mouldy but signable and there was a little water in the container which I emptied before placing it back away. Beautiful weather today, and even snuck in a tiny bit of snow on Mt Skene. TFTC
With Wombatwandering on our first day Melbourne to Canberra for the Mega via Gippsland. An offline disaster averted by Rick telling us the coords over the free Telstra phone.
ConnieandRick and I made it Licola, middle of everywhere, on our way to Canberra Mega. We are actually here to get the golden oldie cache near Howitt tomorrow. Arrived in Licola to find no wifi code was left out by our accommodation and, once again, the offline data from Geocaching.com had not downloaded correctly. Luckily, the free pay phone was working and the other half of ConnieandRick was able to help out with coordinates. Found the cache but prob not as the hint indicated. Thanks.
Grabbing some caches on a the trip to High country.Found this while visiting the Licola store and caravan park. It is a must stop place for any trip in the area.Took way to long for an easy find.
We stopped here after an adventurous backroads drive to Rumpff Saddle to put out a food drop for my AAWT walk. Encourage big group of the Melbourne to Canberra cyclists- a great undertaking on these roads. Off to Macalister Springs now. TFTC
We had a great ride into this quaint little town and I was happy to see a cache close by. The original logbook is saturated, and now there is a new piece of paper in a small bag, which is damp, but I signed it. The cow next door was in arms reach while I was signing the log and looked very inquisitive.
Found cache, unfortunately it was full of mould and damp. Unable to sign log. Such a beautiful area worth the visit.
Spending the day caching with @searchingformacca on the way home from weekend camping. This one was a nice easy find today TFTC
Out for the weekend Cacheing with @Smithiesoutbackgear. Love the Cache and was a good find. Cheers
A quick stop to Lachlan for a cuppa coffee have been camping nearby great weekend, lots of snow in the hills
I am staying nearby, and wandered over this afternoon for the find. TFTC Blamo!
Found is while camping in the area with Tough Guy Book Club. Quick find, good fun! TFTC!
Hmmm Plums , brought back memories of living on the farm with a few of these plum trees around , was lucky to eat the remaining few while MzTiz found the cage i DNF with hunter months before
While SBOG took to eating Plums from the nearby tree I took to looking for this cache eventually it was found log sheet added and zip lock bag replaced as original log is mouldy.
As part of our VIC HIGH COUNTRY 4x4 Adventure we grabbed this cache.
The town of Licola was quite different to what i imagined it would be. I loved the detour, it was very scenic. Thank you for the cache Blamo

Jemison to the licola over top of Mount Skeen little bit of snow last night at 1574 m above sea level
Thought I’d miss a few caches due to the current detour in place but did get this one.
Down in Victoria for the long awaited (and necessarily postponed) Wangaratta MEGA, and a little holiday chasing the usual (oldies, counties and windmills). Just for something different we are adding to the hit list and the graves of the regionally buried dead premiers. Lol the things we will do for a cache! a nice quick find on this one before heading up to Victorian High Country. Thanks for the cache!
Found on a trip to country Victoria after the Wangaratta Mega. The focus for this trip was to chip away at the geotour, find oldies, dead premiers and windmills while visiting new LGAs. This was one of the caches we targetted. A quick find at GZ before heading up to find Victorian High Country. TFTC.
Knee high grass in summer gives me the heebee geebees. Should have worn long pants! Thank you for the cache!
While working at the local camp. Found this during lunch break yesterday but didn't have a pen..
Went back this morning with a pen and logged it!

We spent a great weekend camping with the geokids on the Macalister River and finding geocaches around Glenmaggie, Heyfield and surrounds. Caches were signed/stamped between 25-27th, September. We found some really beautiful little spots around here! Thanks so much for placing and maintaining these caches It was a bit tricky to find in the y’all grads but the cache was all in good order and dry.
Camping in the local area and decided to make the most of proximity and come explore Licola. surprised by just how close it is to home, it always seems further away. Such amazing scenery on the way, so much greenery for this time of year. Had to use my spidey sense on this hunt due to the lack of reception but got there without issue. TFTC
Great trip to Licola for the first time. So close to home and never visited so far. Used a bit of spidey sense on the absence of reception which eventually came up trumps. All signed and tucked away then bank to find the family who were eyeballing the river. TFTC
On this warm day it's hard to imagine Licola covered in snow. Flies abound, it is somewhere in the high 20s and it is a cloudless sky. Cache is in good condition. Merry Christmas tftc
Camping nearby whilst 4wding around high country.... with nothing to go on but the GPS (no hints or previous logs for clues) I set off following my phone compass..... a couple of cyclists rode by then stopped.... heard them talking about finding something.... so after a quick chat and a swap of the info we had all 3 off us were on the hunt and we soon had the cache in hand!! TFTC
Some easy finds now after 5 days in the mountains. This one took longer than expected, however we got there. Very happy to visit this beautiful little hamlet.
Exploring wonderful natural areas, finding a few caches along the way - what a great way to spend a few days with great mates.
While the initial plans were for a long weekend south-east on Mount Howitt the latest forecasts of harsh weather had us detouring north to Mt Buffalo instead. It was a good alternative - the weather was mild and we had a great time in the area for a few days. We ended up getting to Mt Howitt after all when the weather outlook improved.
After 5 days in the mountains we started heading home today.
First time in Licola - it is a small town. Walked the whole town quite quickly. First cache of the day here.
Thanks, Blamo!

Catching up on some very late logs from my visit to Victorian for the Mega during November 2018.
This cache was visited as part of a 4WD convey out through the high country organised by the Mega Committee for some overseas visitors and a couple of Australian reviewers. Started at 5am and didn't get back to the Hotel until just before midnight but had an enjoyable day doing a number of caches on my Victorian bucket list.
Log was signed as 'visitors' and cache returned as found.
Thanks Blamo! for placing this cache for us to find.

Over the years, geocaching has taken me on many adventures, including interesting destinations all over my home continent of Australia and many overseas as well. It has also introduced me to a diverse group of like-minded caching tragics, many of whom I now call close friends.
Today, I was lucky enough to be out and about searching for caches, something I do on almost a daily basis. This was one cache that was targeted and found.
Sorry for the late and generic log, something I am notorious for. Thank you Blamo!for adding to the adventure that is geocaching.

This was a nice quick find after we had all disembarked and had a stretch. There are about 8 or so cars so we are quite a convoy. The log has been signed as The Visitors or we are going to take up far too much log space. Thanks for the cache. Now onward and upward.
In November 2018 my husband and I traveled to Australia to attend the Parkville Mega Event in Melbourne. It was my first time in Australia, and his first time in Melbourne, and we spend an amazing 10 days that ended way too soon.
On the day after the Mega Event we got up at 5 in the morning for a big day out caching in the mountains with 7 or 8 cars filled with local traveling geocachers. We had rented a 4X4 for the day, which turned out to be an AWD. So we were only able to join the group until Licola where our ways parted and we went on to take the 'better' road to Jamieson.
This was the last cache we found as a group, we signed as "the visitors". Thanks for the cache.

Received an invitation from the locals who were taking 'out of states' and overseas visitors
for a drive to attempt some old caches in the high country.
Eight 4wd's completed the trip, and it was an excellent day out.
Cache located, log signed and replaced as found.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Blamo!, for us and others to find.

This year our plan was to spend our "summer vaction" in Australia.
So arriving on the 7th November we took over the campervan and started our tour from Sydney to Adelaine. On that tour we found a lot of caches. This was one of it.
Today we was part of the tour the organisation team from the Mega in Melbourne has organised. So we did not logged every single cache with our own cacher name but was part of the "The visistors" log that was done from out group to save time and space in the logbooks.
Thank's a lot to all CO's that placed and maintain the caches here in "Down Under".
Greetings from the south of Germany

*A Big Day Out, fabulous drivers, super good company from near and far, glorious weather, breathtaking views, bumpy 4WD tracks, one tyre change, bird life, sensational geology and bush. As sky companions we started with Venus, continued with the Sun and finished with the Moon. Thumbs up for Geocaching Victoria!*

This was the day for the BIG tour. I had looked forward to this day and it was a really incredible day. Long of course, nearly 20 hours, but totally unbelievable. I am so greatful that I got the chance to do this. We signed most of the caches with "The Visitors".
Here we made a short resting stop.

Today a horde of cachers from all around the globe started out on a long adventurous geocaching tour in the Victorian Highlands. It was a long day and I learned that it makes sense to measure distance in time not in kilometers . While we had a lot of fun, interesting talks and of course stopped for a cache here and there , I really enjoyed to get some insight into the Australian vibe [^]. A very big thank you to the organizers for organizing and particularly to Geoturtle37 for mastering all the bumps .
Before heading for the serious part of the trip, we stopped here to move our feet and after a short walk, we were able to find this cache and signed it as „The Visitors“. Now there is a bright yellow smile on my map here too [^]. Thanks for hiding

Stopped here before heading up to the High country cache.
Great photo oppertunity.
Got to the little house quickly and was almost knocked over in the rushy on the way out.
Funniest moment was when the local shop keeper lined up with the drivers when Nykkole was handing out some coins.

Today's aim was to find GC372, I found it, now only 5 more caches to go to complete my Jasmer challenge. Quick find on the way back down the mountains. Signed log and replaced. Thanks to Blamo!
Found with Beaker on a week-long 4wd trip through the high country. Highlights included walking to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko, sunset from the top of Mt Pinnibar, seeing an Eastern Water Dragon in the Crooked River and having the living daylights scared out of us by a deer at Wonnangatta! Along the way we rescued a bushwalker from a 7km limp with a sprained ankle, climbed mountains, crossed rivers, saw many huts and beautiful scenery, did some excellent 4wd tracks and some great caches. Thanks
Found with FerociousFlea while on our 8 day 4WD sojourn through the the High Country. We were collecting caches that we liked the look of as we went along.
Stayed at the nearby caravan park. Great night's sleep, woken nice and early by the cacophony of local bird calls!!

Found it! Camping at Paradise Valley and we decided to do a bit of a 4x4 run up to the snowy range airfield. M ended up with Geokids 1&2 and 2 young muggles for the return journey, so after ice creams at the store we let our convoy mates head off towards camp whilst we set off to grab this cache. Ended up being found by our youngest muggle who was very proud of herself. Cache is in good condition, even after 6 months since it was last visited...TFTC...
A quick stop off in Licola for a couple of caches with Neville_devil after spend the weekend Camping up in the High Country. After lunch in town BernieH, Day1976 and I wandered over to this one and made an easy find thanks. Pretty good scenery along the road.
Found this one on a road trip out to an Australia Day weekend of geocaching at the Howitt Plains with alansee and BernieH. I believe Bernie made the find on this one as I looked elsewhere. Sausage Rolls at the general store were terrible!
Returning back through here so had a quick stop to see a cache was close and headed over. A look in a few places and then the hide was found . We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Another cache found today as we idled our time away waiting for our friends to arrive in Licola. Easy find although I'm not too sure how long this cache will last in it's present position but I guess it has survived one wet winter already it'll probably survive a few more summers and winters to come.
