Had some time off today and decided to head closer into town to grab a few caches, this was the first for the day and ended up a dnf. We searched the area and could only manage to find a very small magnet, wondering if that is all that is left of the cache. Thanks oli46 for highlighting this area.
Just as I pulled up and got off my bike I heard the kindergarten staff say .... I think we'll have our snack over there today, herding a dozen preschool children to within view of where GZ was... and as much as I wanted to search I had to just hop back on and keep on going... another day
Places like this are why I love living in the city. It's so adorable. Clever cache to make the area even better. Thanks!
TFTC oli46. A nice easy find on a sunny Melbourne day. Thanks for bringing us to this spot. Jimmytherat with Flopsybunny
TFTC. Lots and lots of Muggles here this morning. Had to wait till the coffee drinkers had finished their cups. Darn cafe society. Bring back hard liquor and brawls.
Being a sunny Saturday I was worried about the place being occupied, but all was clear. It might not have mattered anyway given the nature of the hide. Interesting to see all those activities available too! TFTC oli46.
A quick and easy drive by as we cache our way around the area today. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the history of Alphington and thanks for a nice easy cache hide on a lovely sunny morning out here.
Cheers

Found with Wombatwandering but I'm too lazy to log anything. This may have been written by Geomum.
17 minutes until the next train. No brainer, find the geocache. Someone rudely arrived and sat down at GZ so we had to wait before we could return the cache. Love the description.
Found by Team Ninja 08/08/16, find number 876.
This was the second find whilst walking from Fairfield to Alphington station. I wanted to get some photos of the level crossing before it gets removed, and I was able to tie in some caching too!
There were a few muggles around but I spotted the cache quickly and managed to retrieve and replace the cache without any issues. Nice spot.
TNLNSL, TFTC oli46!

Out with echidna44 today. This one took longer to find a parking spot than it did to spot the cache thanks for the local history oli46
This is an area that I know well, often parking nearby to catch the train.
Out with au.fait, it was a quick find today. Thanks oli46

A quick stop here in the intermittent rain. I thought the cache would be in one place but after checking for a couple of minutes I decided to look in the next best place and made the find. Thanks oli46 for the cache.
Out for a bike ride on a cold Saturday morning and I stopped off in this quiet little spot. Made the find easily enough but didn't have a pen on me so enclose a pic of the logbook. TFTC
Im drawn to this place like a magnet. The Darebin Parkland is a great place to visit. Tftc.
The amount of times I passed this area on my way to the train station and I thought this would be a good place for a cache and yet I didn’t do anything about it. I'm so glad someone did make the effort. A lovely spot in Alphington that underwent quite the face-lift just over a year ago. A bold cache too given the high traffic area. Nicely done! TFTC!
Took a while to find in the dark. Muggle asked what I was doing...had the great excuse of 'I'm playing Pokemon' mwahahaha
Thanks for bringing me to this lovely little corner of the world and for telling me about its interesting history too........the reason I enjoy geocaching is going to new places and learning things. TFTC
Nice hide and easy find. Thanks for the stories about the area. We visited the butcher shop and saw the signed poster from the stars of the movie Take Away. Well done and Tftc !
This small space was a wonderful surprise, with plantings, seats and a table. The log is still damp, but hanging together. Thank you for the background information and placing this cache.
Wednesday 22 June 2016 - a beautiful cool sunny winter's morning that turned overcast and blowy by midday with a few showers - reaching 14 degrees. Found 24 from 25 caches over 41.5 kms in 7 hours riding muggle sister's great bike. A favourite point each for the beginning and end of the 'Outer Circle Railway Powertrail'cache series. ATAMp2p. TFTC
Early on a public holiday this area was very quite which meant a quick grab, the hint however was no help to me,
Thanks oli46 [:x]

With WWFMXIII event #2 getting us out and about at ridiculous o'clock, I may as well take advantage of the deserted streets and nab a few more caches...
The fog was starting to settle on the suburb as I pulled up at the shops here. A nice quick grab, exactly where you might expect it. Thanks, oli46.

First attempted on the way to an event nearby, muggled at 3am on a Sunday morning from the nearby train station. On my return after flash event, a quick find was made.

After attending the WWFM XIII event at 3am I decided to have a lie in. I woke to a grey, damp Melbourne winter's day. What better way to cheer up the day than getting on the bike and grabbing a few caches.
This was the first for the day. The area was deserted so I was able to quickly find the cache and sign the log. TFTC.

With a bit of time up my sleeve, I decided to drop by here while on the way to my weekly bowelling. I had the place to myself and not long after arriving, I spotted the stash in the torchlight at 19:10. The log signed and the cache replaced, I was soon on my way.
TNLNSL, although a couple of our geocoins had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks oli46.

I've wandered by a few times trying to spot it but was put off by passers by. But today we were waiting for a train and we had 5 minutes to spare-and found it! Quick run back and caught our train. Thanks for the cache!
Out for some caching with lochb and G' of GJMMelb I was initially distracted by another home of many stories (getting this cache mixed up with Between the Lines) but the others headed for the proper spot. Joining them lochb and I both looked in the same spot but different viewpoints and it was by chance that I spotted it first hiding somewhat boldly. A quick sign and hide while we finished off the last of lochb's homemade waffles TFTC

A quick cache find in a cute little location. It took a few minutes to find as there were many possible location, but the most logical revealed the cache.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for this, the last cache of the day for us.

Out this afternoon with quiet1_au and GJMMelb. Q pictured the cache in a book in the nearby free library box, but that wouldn't have made sense as someone could have taken the book. All good, cache was found quickly. TFTC
Found with Lochb and Quiet1_au. Q and I both saw this as we looked in the same spot - and obvious one. we had a brake and some nibbles before moving on. Thanks oli46

In was on my way back from the Iron Maiden concert when I got the notification for this cache. Alphington is my suburb. So was impatiently waiting for the train to arrive at the station. Got off and arrived at GZ which was deserted. Spent over 30 minutes looking all around GZ but came up empty handed. I really wasn't happy. So went home, got some sleep and came back on my way to work. I suspect that either the cache is missing, the coordinates are way off (although I searched the whole fence) or I'm in need of new eyeballs. Sorry this is the log on your 1st cache. I'll put a watch on it for now.
{FTF} gone at 2:04pm
I know that running about for FTFs can be a trial - there are so many caches published these days... BUT I had seen this one come overnight and as it is almost close to work and almost on my way in I would have given it a go...
But this morning was busy as. Too much to do, too many people to see and thugs to do. All too hard.
But lunchtime eventually arrived (albeit late) and as it is only around 10 mins from work, I thought I would give it a go. Can't believe it lasted so long!
When I got to GZ I gave a cursory look at possibility 1 and then changed focus to possibility 2!
It stuck out like the proverbial DBs as it is somewhat in contrast with its surroundings.
Grab and signed the fresh log at 2:04 before grabbing a bit to eat at one of the very local cafes.
A very bold first placement indeed.
TBs visited and I am on my way. Thanks for the fun.

After my double failure to find bit last night and then this morning, I received an apologetic email from the CO who had unfortunately removed the cache for fixing and meanwhile the cache was published. So sadly only 3rd to find this time. Sometimes these things happen. Incredibly dissapointed at missing a FTF on my home turf but I'm more excited to have a cacher in my neighborhood. Maybe next time! A quick find for me this afternoon after waiting for a few muggles to pass. Signed in second place while walking then replaced after waiting for a few more muggles.
Thanks oli46 for the cache.
