Had forgotten how rough the road was around the lake. At least I remembered from my last trip unlike the Satnav which decided I was a boat and tried a short cut.
Been here before with no success. Today we finally caught up with this elusive one. Cheers.
Day 4 - Thursday 23 December - Ashburton to Amberly taking the inland route to Lake Coleridge. So lets go exploring. Bummer with Toby getting a flat battery today.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are of on another Geo adventure this time to Mt Cook for 5 days. Met up with Bullertrout and Bro on the way down. Lake Pukaki was fine but Mt Cook was wet and wild with the Hooker Valley being closed due to high winds, so did not stay long. We went exploring Tekapo, Timaru and a round trip to Lake Coleridge. Short trip and very tiring but awesome.

Last time I was here was way back in 2017. The cache was missing then, so it is nice to be back to clear out the blue sad face.
Part of a big trip with Taybeedragon to explore Mt Cook. We explored a little of it but there was gale winds, lots of cloud and rain. Some of the tracks had been closed and others were right dodgy given that we did not have our foul weather tramping kit. We had booked to stay for two nights but left the same day. More time to explore Timaru! So now I have been to Mt Cook. Still yet to see Aorangi.

A nice quick find. It was pretty much exposed. So i have tucked it in a bit more. Tftc
Family took us for a drive to Lake Hood when we were visiting Ashburton. A lovely area. We introduced them to geocaching while here, they found it intriguing. Thanks for the cache
Quick find with dakotacats and whiskasnz. This place sure is a great asset to the local folks. TFTC
I had always been curious about Lake Hood, but until today had never visited. Wow what a great spot this is, and the houses are gorgeous. We found this easily enough and dropped off a TB which wanted to be near water - perfect spot! Thanks for bringing us here, we only found two caches, so will return again.
We came to Ashvegus with busy paws and while they visited family we ducked out for a few caches in a new area for us. Nice and quiet out here today, cache very wet tipped out water. Thankfully Raylnz put in a replacement log to sign. Thanks for bringing us here mitangie.
Day 7 of our Sth Island (substitute for Seattle) trip. Today it's Christchurch to Timaru. Enjoyed the trip around Lake Hood. Thanks for bringing us here.

Very wet. I gave it a good wipe out and left dry log - a page from a notebook in a plastic bag. Sorry didn’t have bigger bag for old logs. First visit to this area - reminded me of Pegasus town north of Christchurch. I had to be in Ashburton for a short time today so decided I would also find 10 caches around the area. No.3. TFTC
First trip away after lock down.
Beautifully lake and walk
Cache was hard to find
Logbook not able to sign as soaked.
Thanks

I was pleased that this was a quick find with the previous cacher having logged it as a DNF.
Bought the nephews and niece out for a walk around the lake on a beautiful winters day. #2 nephew spotted this one. Found with Conbat. TFTC!
We failed to find this cache on our arrival at Lake Hood, but had a second look before heading back along the trail to Ashburton, and this time spotted the cache from above. TFTC
Not an ideal day to be out there, wet as, but I needed to get out and at least there were not many people around! Time to park the car up and head for a walk, hoping for a few dryish hours! TFTC!!
TFTC! It was rather treeaky for my short arms, but we got there in the end. Signed as leotheanteater & sidekick
I asked Near if she fancied a day in Ashburton. Thankfully she agreed. I love going on geocaching adventures with my cache buddy.
Replaced missing cache.

Many thanks to yetichch for finally leading us to this one, it has been elusive for quite a while. Really nice to meet a couple of cachers from Tauranga at the cache site. TFTC!
Arrived here just as someone was running back to the car, then two came back and reached in and retrieved. Fantastic to meet you Geomum007 and yetichch. Cache all ok here. Thanks for the placement
This one had me intrigued with so many DNFs so left my hubby on the other side of the lake to play with his drone and headed for the cache. Took a couple minutes but found pretty quick. Log is wet but was able to sign log. Touring NZ from Australia.. TFTC
Spoke to a ladie at the Waitangi Day meet and have more info. Have looked further afield nearby and not having much luck. Wondering if owner may give better hint but not leading directly to it?????
Part of an epic day out with darkangel10151 and MikefNZ on a mission to find 100 cache in a day, Pleased to say that made it
