The Hamilton Hume story was quite interesting.
Hume had a good reputation about him, a bushman who was friendly with the indigenous.
Hovell, in the words of my father in law describing him, 'was a c****'
An easy find that took a few minutes, thanks.

I found a few others along this path a few years ago but didn't have time then to complete the walk. Today on my way back down to the beach I stopped off to look for the others finally. I parked nearby and had a quick look here initially but there was a bit of noise from the nearby house so I thought I'd look for the others and return to avoid exposing the hide. On the way back I spotted it on the way up the path and with the area all quiet was able to duck in and grab the hide. Had a bit of difficulty extracting the log but was soon able to add my name to the log. Thanks for the cache Na'wal.
Nice and easy find on my way to work. This cache had me feeling hungry . Thank you
Took the dog for a walk and doing a little geocaching along the way. Kids loved this one. TFTC
We decided to head down to Geelong for the night and took the opportunity to collect some smileys as we went.
Our GPS's took us to the wrong area first. Once they settled, the cache was quickly located. Thanks for placing it for us to find.

Out and about for the day of Christmas events.
It was now coming up to part 5, the dinner event and seeing that we had a little bit of time to fill in, I headed over to this series with GemmaSistema and Posums to see what we could find.
This one was spotted quickly on approach to GZ.
**Thanks to Na'wal for placing this cache.**

Heading to the last event for the day which was dinner at the Lara Sports Club we had a bit of time up our sleeves.
So SteMicMitSar, GemmaSistema and myself went for a stroll along the creek to see if we could pick up a couple more caches.
This one was the last one before tea and it was time for some rations for ourselves after a big of events and finding caches.
Thanks Na’wal TFTC.

A little time to spare saw me having a walk with POSUMS and SteMicMitSar before the nearby dinner event. A quick find for the last cache before dinner. Many thanks. Nice little walk here.
A few of the Hume and Hovell series were on the target list this time as we cached with ilook4geo. Co-ords were good so the cache was found nice and quickly. All was good with the container and log which was signed to keep things in order. The history of the expeditions and explorations of Hume and Hovell are interesting to read. Many thanks go to Na'wal for the information about different aspects of the explorers' lives back then.
Thanks also for the placement and maintenance of this cache.

This cache was found while caching around the area with goingplaces2. Enjoyed making the find here and being able to add some more smiley faces to the map. Container was found, log was signed, job done! TFTC.
Heading to Lara for the CITO today and left early to grab a couple of caches before the event and before the heat Enjoyed the connection to the name TFTC Na’wal
TFTC Na'wal. Great day for a ride. Having completed Pats adventures, we did a little cross country to continue our ride. Finding Batman Ave on the way to the Hume n Hovell series. I think we did it backwards for something different. Only realising it when we got to the Earthcache. Nice day and nice ride too. Located without too much difficulty. TNLN (A tool may be required here.)
After a few DNFs was glad to make this quick find. Couldn’t get the log out. May have to come back with tweezers. Sent photo to CO to confirm find. Will make another trip out to pick up my DNFs and sign this one properly. Tftc
No luck for us here. We were looking for our last few finds after a big day of walking and caching. When we couldn't find it we checked some other recent logs and started to question if it was still in place.
DNF @ 20:33 with Annoying Tarbit
The plan for today was to visit the You Yangs and surrounds with Annoying Tarbit, and have a day of caching. We didn't count on the Great Circle Drive being closed, so ended up doing (according to my fitbit) almost 20kms of walking for the day. It was a long day with AT collecting me at 8am and I got home again about 10pm.
We looked at the few options for hiding a cache here, but were unable to spot the hide. We decided to move on before we lost all the daylight.
Thanks anyway Na'wal

A DNF for me. Reading the logs I got the drift of what I was looking for but nothing there for me today.
Decided to take in a different area and grab a few along this trail. I spotted the cache early on, but an elderly couple were taking their elderly dog for a walk and the dog was lagging WAAAAAY behind. A few photos here, a wandering back and forth there, and finally they were out of sight! A quick dash and this cache was grabbed and signed. TFTC

Happy Australia Day! A walk along the river was called for this morning. This one was found pretty quickly, nice camo! Thanks for the cache Na'wal.

Clever container and a nice afternoon walk rugged up from the cold.... had wanted to do these caches for a while and today was the day. .. TFTC
Knew what I was looking for here, but try as I might I just could not see it. Damn! Grabbed a nearby one, then confirmed I'd been looking at the wrong elevation and sound found it. Log a bit damp but writeable. TFTC
I got to make the find on this one, very clever! Loving the views as we wander along!!
I saw this as I approached and my GPSr agreed. A good day to be out caching and looking at my map it's lot happier now. Thanks Na'wal.
Found by Mary & David at 1410. A quick dash down the freeway for our daily cache. A short walk from the end of Archimedes Ave, then a quick search and we found the Rations. Our thanks to Na'wal.
i had time to collect a few more caches on the way home. I liked the ration only I prefer red ones. Thanks for an easier cache today.

A surprising cache - though the camo is quite fitting for the theme of the cache. Thanks na'wal
A quick visit to Lara and a few smilies to help fill the grid. Loved the cache container and the notes on the cache page. Thanks for the series Micheal.

I spent today in the Lara area. My tally in the end was 30 caches, 10 of these puzzles and the day was loosely organised around the CITO event early afternoon.
On my travels I ran into my good friend Astro from Adelaide and we teamed up for an hour or two enjoying the weather and the hides on offer.
So many of the hides were by Mr Na'wal and you set the bar so high around here. Lara is certainly now a centre of caching excellence.
The first of your hides along the creek. I would do the rest later after the CITO.
Nice hide too

On my first day off of the week I have come to Lara to get as many caches as possible. This was an easy to find cache, I guess the cache doesn't fall far from the tree??
Found @22:51
Quick find on our way home from an evening of dancing.
Love the hide, not quite so sure about the house next door?
SL Thanks for the cache and the series Na'wal

Our geo-map indicated a smorgasbord of caches around Lara, so we set out today in an attempt to appease the hunger. We originally learnt of the exploits of these two explorers way back in secondary school. Not so sure the authorities would approve of the quantity of tobacco these days!
Our thanks to Na'wal for placing this series.

Was looking for something trickier when I almost had a Newton experience. Weird place over the fence. TFTC
With many muggles in the area taking advantage of the sunny day with their canines, we had to bide our time. We were fairly certain we were in the right spot and sure enough the obvious-once-you-see-it container was soon spotted and the log signed.
Thanks Na'wal

Out with AutumnCS (team Autumn). He spotted it straight away. I was looking for something less obvious (LOL). TFTC.
While Geodaughter was in her art class, I thought I'd drive over and get this series along the river. I loved the camo. Luckily with all the rain I managed to keep the log dry.

After the first event today it was decided to grab the last unfounds in the area with DAB in readiness for the Birthday Event Dinner to follow. After parking close by and next to other geomobiles we discovered this one first. What a great container tying in with the ration theme beautifully. We are surprised this one doesn't have many favourites as it definitely deserves more, so we are adding one to help with the tally.
Thanks for the hide Na'wal.

After this afternoon's event and before dinner, we joined a group that consisted of Suss-Vulture, DBelco, geordiefamily, noWorries, TheCoffee's, Honeysucker and breeandlee, for the walk from the RSL. This was our first stop and we found the rations quite easily. We added all our names to the log and moved on to the next one. This one left us a tad hungry as there was NO rations for lunch today.

With a bit of time between events, I wondered " Hmmm, what can I do..." Let's go caching !! With a handful of caches along this track, this was the perfect area to discover some hides.
Thankfully there was no-one watching us from the nearby house. What an impressive aerial set up the neighbour has here. Loved the cache container as well. TFTC Na'wal

Following today's event in the park, we joined an ever-growing group setting off to inspect the trail dedicated to Hume and Hovell. This was the first stop where we managed to find some rations. While all teams were adding their names to the log, we admired the sky-scraping antennas on what turned out to be hangar-sized garages on the other side of the path.

After attending the first event in Lara, suscoe and the ageing Red Ant decided to fill in the time before the next event by wandering along Hovells Creek to gather these new caches where I had been to some years ago gathering some caches placed by RedPaw.
As others have noted the impressive array of masts and aerials on the residence on the corner and the extra large roller door. We wondered what was behind that door!!!!!!
Thanks for placing this well thought out cache.

Suscoe headed out to the north this afternoon to attend some events and along the way we had a few caches to collect.
We had the Red Ant with us for company and so we went from cache to cache.
All quiet here this afternoon.
Log signed and on our way.
What an impressive collection of masts and techno things next door.

The last in this little series (so far) and just enough time to grab it before we headed off for dinner. Still accompanied by Darth Briji and AusFox, I made a quick find and was soon plucking the cache from its hiding spot and signing the log. Then it was time to head back to the Geo6E and head for the birthday bash with the CO - amongst others - at the pub.
Thanks Na'wal for the cache and the series so far !

Out with the McPhail family knocking off a few caches. Must say the the geokid certainly got involved and enjoyed this series. Thanks again Na'wal for another great cache
Geokid needed a boost. Not too far off the beaten track! Another find by the McPhail family
Loved this cache and laughed when I saw it. I haven't seen a cache like this before. I'm a little worried it will be muggled though. At the very least, the house owners will wonder why people are stopping here, so be careful. We really have no idea about rationing in our lifestyles of glut, excess and wastage. Maybe it would be good for us to experience rations, so we appreciate what we have much more, and don't throw so much food away. Tftc.
No idea where to begin.
From when the phone buzzed till know have been a very emotional roller coaster. I decided I would attempt a FTF thinking that because it was so late/early and so very cold I would stand a chance. I quickly drove to GZ in my PJ's and dressing gown and noticed Sims_family had logged it. A quick call and a lot of name calling was involved. I quickly located the cleaver cache and signed my name. That's where the night went bad. Car broke down grrrr. Quick call and I my mummy was on her way to pick me up. This morning get a phone call from the police. Someone had smashed into my car and drive off. A quick phone call and we were on our way to discover a written off car. So I went caching and ended up with no car AND still didn't get the FTF bWhat does this teach me about caching??? That FTF's are evil and I will never go for one again...until the next one gets published lol.
